      <description><![CDATA[<p>My laptop is an Alienware17, i7-4700MQ CPU at 2.40Ghz(quad-core), 16Gb RAM, graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M(768 CUDA Cores &amp; 2Gb VRAM) with Win7 Ultimate. I&#39;m trying to configure a desktop for improved Iray rendering and overall better performance in Daz vs. what I have currently on the laptop. The system I have in mind will have the Z390 chipset, i9-9900K 3.6Ghz(16-thread 8-core 5.0Ghz Turbo) CPU, 32Gb RAM, and an RTX 2070 8Gb VRAM. The monitor I plan to get will most likely be a 27&quot; 1440p G-Sync TN panel.</p>

<p>The main problem I have with Daz on my laptop is I need to be picky with the hair &amp; clothes&nbsp;I use on characters; otherwise movement &amp; control manipulation in&nbsp;the viewport becomes real slow/laggy. This gets irritating when trying to fit the items properly on characters. Which would give a better improvement in this area: a higher clockspeed with fewer cores or more cores in the CPU? I was thinking about an X299 system, but they&#39;re a bit more expensive and I would rather&nbsp;put that&nbsp;extra money aside&nbsp;towards an additional graphics card later on.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was having some rendering problems so I tried updating the driver for my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780. As a result, now I can only render using the CPU! By trying to solve a small problem, Icreated a much larger one. I have not been able to solve this. I have been wanting to upgrade this card for a long, long time, but held off because of a shortage with the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, which was the card I wanted. Now I&#39;m thinking of just upgrading now to end the frustation. I&#39;m thinking of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Is this a good option? Any suggestions? SO frustrated!</p>

<p>i was wondering if there is a way to &ldquo;extract&rdquo; skin from a specific character. I don&rsquo;t need morphs or other things, just a skin and everything needed to apply it. I have over 40 older gen characters which I&rsquo;m not gonna use anymore as I switched to G8, but I would like to use their skin.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also, what would be the easiest way to create my own skin, especially for younger characters (my skin-range is currently covering adults and older people, but no children). I guess I could smoothen out some skon textures or start from scratch?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m looking at my next build and I&#39;m looking for some info and practical advice.&nbsp; Currently I&#39;m running an i7 (LGA 1150 socket) with a 1080 and 1060.&nbsp; I&#39;m trying to weight the cost/benefit of the three main PC paths:&nbsp; AMD Threadripper, AMD Ryzen, and Intel i7 (1151 socket).&nbsp; I like the extra RAM and PCIe lanes Threadripper provides, but the cost is pretty high.&nbsp; The other two both offer 64GB of RAM at a lower cost but with fewer PCIe lanes.&nbsp; I am a hobbiest, so the system has to work as a general-use/gaming PC also.&nbsp; So, my two main questions regarding PCIe are:</p>

<p>What effect is there on iRay render performance if the card is running in x4 or x8 mode instead of the full x16?</p>

I had it open earlier and closed it when I downloaded some new content. The crash report tells me that it can&#39;t find the program&#39;s library. I tried re-installing it 3 times but nothing had happened and I simply don&#39;t know what to do anymore. I&#39;m frustrated and wondering why I even spent money on this thing now.</p>

I can see the skins listed in content library and then under &quot;characters&quot; but I can&#39;t apply them if I click on it. It usually tells me error when reading the file see log file for more details. It says something like this on the log file&nbsp;2019-05-05 12:56:21.494 Invalid hierarchy for selected node(s) and &quot;preset_hierarchical_material&quot; type; no root(s) found.<br />

Not sure what&nbsp; that means or how to fix this, I&#39;m just trying to get a different manually downloaded g8f skin to be applied.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having a problem with the LAMH chimp. This is my first attempt at rendering him. I rendered the &#39;Iray Chimpanzee Black with Pink Skin -&nbsp; Catalyzer&#39; version and part of his fur is missing. Take a look at the render and you can see the fur on his belly and a section of fur on his right arm is missing. And yet the preview shows the all the fur as being there. I had the catalyzer in safe mode. The exact same problem occurred with the HQ version. How can I fix this? Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have for some while been unhappy with the rendered quality of the human skin.</p>

<p>I have mostly used HDR&#39;s as lighting - my computer has no cuda cores so rendering can be a rather drawn out affair.</p>

<p>Just now I have decided to do a quick reference render of the various human mats so that I can refer to these prior to setting up a scene for rendering. For speed and simplicity I decided to use the camera headlight. I am more than surprised at the huge increase in the detail visible in these renders, they are photographic quality, and some take only a matter of minutes to complete.</p>

<p>So, I would be greatful for advice on how to transfer some of this detail and speed to to the rendering of a scene.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>With more and more dForce compatible clothing showing up, I&#39;ve decided to buckle down and figure it out. However, I&#39;ve run into a problem.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve followed the instructions in the Daz&#39;s tutorial video and made sure all of the settings match up, but when I hit &quot;Simulate,&quot; Studo goes into &quot;not responding&quot; and freezes up. After that, i have to use the task manager to shut it down.</p>

<p>Has anyone run into this before, and how did you fix it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>To start, I don&#39;t know if it matters, but I started out with a purchased morph.</p>

<p>So I want to move the eyes higher in the face than the limit. I have tried opening the gear and turning limits off. I have also tried leaving limits on and raising the max. I have also right clicked on the parameter and chose to turn the limits off. I have also put to unhide that way as I read on another part of a forum.</p>

<p>The problem is, although the slider will go up, after 1 it does nothing. I have tried looking on this forum, but either it&#39;s because this is a higher public build, or because I&#39;m not understanding, something is wrong.</p>

<p>also as a side note, does it matter whether you are in the parameter tab or shaping tab? I&#39;ve tried it both.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I hadn&#39;t looked at the Wolf www.daz3d.com/wolf-2-0-by-am for awhile &amp; tonight loaded it &amp; noticed that there&#39;s no control for the Jaw &amp; Mouth.&nbsp; There are poses with mouth open, snarl, etc. but not finding any actual morph controls for those, just the ears &amp; basic Head, Tail, legs.</p>

<p>What/where am I overlooking?&nbsp; The Product page does mention a complete collection of morphs, expressions so maybe a reinstall is called for?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I didn&#39;t notice this when I first started on this project, but it may be because I had the camera farther away. I don&#39;t need to let my test renders run all the way, just enough to see the changes I&#39;ve made to the facial features since they always look so different unrendered. Anyway, I don&#39;t have any lights in the scene or anything, but it seems to be rendering the one side more than the other side, and I have to let it go longer to get the otherside of his face ungrainy. I don&#39;t understand why it&#39;s doing that, unless it&#39;s a bit darker there?</p>

<p>If I use this, I can use the utilities to hide the feet, BUT some of the peices still poke through at the ankles or there abouts. ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to export a Genesis 8 Female animation out to an FBX file but some of the rotational changes for some of the body parts are being exported as morphs rather than rotations.&nbsp; How do I stop this from happening.&nbsp; This occurs when I have both Animations and Morphs checked in the FBX Export Options dialog box.&nbsp; Is it done by Edit Morph Export Rules button?&nbsp; Can someone explain how to add the rules?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am not sure if title is clear or not, but I want to basically make a scene as though the viewer was the character, able to see the arms and chest and legs of the character like their own. I have played with frame widths, only to achieve that faraway fisheye effect that I don&#39;t want. Dimensions don&#39;t seem to do anything. I&#39;m hoping to achieve a similar feel to one of the FPS games where you can see your character a bit.</p>

<p>Does anyone know how to achieve this? Thank you</p>
