<p>I am looking for a water splash effect from a tiger jumping out of the water.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The closest realistic product I can find is 3D Water.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi!&nbsp; I hate to add another GPU question to so many already asked and answered.&nbsp; I&#39;ve been getting impatient with the CPU and I was thinking of getting a 8GB Card that fits on my dated&nbsp;motherboard.&nbsp; I have a 4GB&nbsp; 960 GTX now.&nbsp; But I&#39;ve read that even 8GB is not enough to escape being shifted over to the CPU.&nbsp; &nbsp;Is it even worth it to upgrade at all to 8 GB or should I just save up for more, which would probably require upgrading my entire system and cost a heck of a lot?&nbsp; Just wandering.</p>

<p>And one of my most common problems is that when I apply a skin surface to a surface that was previously metal/fabric/etc, it&#39;s discolored, because the skin I&#39;m copying doesn&#39;t alter some kind of parameter.</p>

<p>I discovered a solution was to use a 3delight shader, then put it back to iray uber and the skin was fine. However, I&#39;d like an easier solution than that or loading a new figure.</p>

<p>I hope this makes sense, if not, please just refer to the title question. Thank you very much.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, so I have a bit of a problem with exporting in Collada in Daz studio. I want to work with Marvelous Designer, That&#39;s why I&#39;m making animations of 30 fps transforming from T-pose to the pose I want to use. It doesn&#39;t matter if I use pose from the Daz market or I do it by myself, it always glitches. I don&#39;t have this problem when exporting in FBX. Unfortunately, the format for marvelous designer that includes animations is only Collada. Here I&#39;m going to add two links for the screenshots. The two images are comparison how does the model look in Daz studio and after the export in Collada. Also, I want to add that I&#39;m using the newest Daz studio version on Windows 10. This glitch occurred at some point, I don&#39;t know why. I tried to uninstall the software and deleting the settings from the %appdata% folder on windows. It didn&#39;t help. The Collada formats glitches in every software I got and I&#39;m sure it&#39;s because of the Export in Daz. Can someone help me with this? Maybe I&#39;m doing something wrong? Thank you in advice!&nbsp;<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This:&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/measure-metrics-for-daz-studio">https://www.daz3d.com/measure-metrics-for-daz-studio</a> works in DS 4.10&nbsp;but not in 4.11 Beta. It show up in Smart Content, and will cause a character to assume the necessary pose, but that&#39;s it. Nothing appears in &quot;Installed Plugins&quot; or &quot;Panes&quot; (see screenshots) and when I try to activate the Figure Metrics script it tells me that the plugin needs to be registered. Hard to do when 4.11 Beta&nbsp;doesn&#39;t even know it&#39;s there, or should be.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried uninstalling &amp; reinstalling it several times, but that hasn&#39;t worked. Unless there&#39;s some&nbsp;way to force 4.11 Beta to recognize its existense, it seems the product is in need of an update.</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I think I have heard that a lot of icons on the desktop will slow down a computer.&nbsp; I am questioning that because something seems off with that theory.&nbsp; I am thinking just because one has a cluttered desktop does not mean that is the reason the computer is slow.&nbsp; Basically number of icons on the desktop will not affect the iray render speeds.&nbsp; Aren&#39;t there a lot of factors other than amount of icons on the desktop that affect iray render speeds, like the amount of content in the scene.</p>

<p>Does content that is loaded in the scene but not visible by the camera affect iray rendering speed more than icons on the desktop?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone, I intended to post this within my last thread but I can no longer seem to find that one. Any way, my current issue is durring my renders (I was just using the OpenGL option) it first would render the image normally with the hair being transparent for some reason(checkerboard in the render preview and &quot;grey&quot; in the saved image). Occassionally I would have the render preview entirely the dark grey checkerboard and just to check, it saves the image as an entirely black image. Now it&#39;s suddenly all the time like this. I can&#39;t progress further until I can render like normal again.<br />
Regarding my last thread and what was causing Daz to crash so often, I found if I went to edit &gt; preference &gt; interface &gt; texture resource preformance and set that to all the way low, it crashes far less often from having a lot of assets in the scene.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I noticed when exporting Daz characters into other programs, it will ask which measurements you want to use for size. Hexagon wanting to measure by cm, for example.</p>

<p>So this got me thinking. What is the standing height of default untouched G8M and G8F, in terms of real life height? So for example, if I wanted to make a character 5 foot 6 inches, how far up or down would I change the default height slider? Of course I can&#39;t expect to be able to scale everything to a perfectly realistic size, but it is interesting to think about. Especially in cases where I recreate real people that I know in person.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When lighting a scene with Iray, I often have to preview it in Iray first. Interactive lets me move characters around while seeing how the lighting affects them. Photoreal I use to preview the final look, but I can&#39;t move things around as much because Daz freezes, or is so slow it&#39;s not worth the time. This is mostly for my bigger scenes with multiple figures.</p>

<p>In these big scenes, the viewport will preview with &quot;photoreal&quot;, but not with &quot;interactive&quot; &lt;- The figures just stay grey and nothing happens.</p>

<p>Is there something I can do to make Interactive work more consistently? Thank you.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is a rather niche question, but is there any process to fit this kind of attachment (built&nbsp;for G2) to a G8 character? The process being used to hide the legs seems to be causing some issues. I&#39;m trying to find a pipeline between any combination of Reallusion products and Maya, but I&#39;m running into a brick wall trying to get this tail to fit on a G8. Still fairly new to the nuts and bolts of DAZ, so&nbsp;if someone can even point me&nbsp;to some other resources on what it would take to accomplish this, it would be helpful. Heck, I&#39;d even pay someone to guide me to success here.</p>

<p>I have a question about Ms Hedgehog and LAMH before I purchase.</p>

<p>I purchased the LAMH2Iray Catalyzer product a while back, and all the animals that I purchased have a catalyzer verion which I render with the Catalyzer. They look incredible.</p>

<p>However, I&#39;m not sure how Ms Hedgehog will work from the description. It says that it includes an &quot;LAMH Preset&quot; for the hedgehog morph and also includes an LAMH Installer.</p>

<p>It also states,</p>

<ul>
	<li><span>In regards to LAMH, when rendering in Iray you should save the addition of hair to just before render time and be sure to set the geometry type as &quot;export to obj&quot; and not &quot;Render Man&quot;. When rendering in 3Delight, &quot;Renderman&quot; is still the way to go.</span></li>
</ul>

<p>So I&#39;m not sure if I need the LAMH product as well&nbsp;(or if it is included) or how exactly this works, or why I need to save an OBJ file in Iray. It&#39;s not a Catalyzer animal which I am used to using in Iray.</p>

<p>Any advice would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>I am a mediocre DAZ user. I know the software fairly well, but far from an expert.&nbsp; I was hoping to pick some brains here.&nbsp;</p>

<p>My story:</p>

<p>My old computer fried, I lost everything etc.&nbsp; Luckily I had a backup of all of my MATS and purchased art etc, Renderosity and the like.&nbsp; My memory is foggy and I am now using a later version of DAZ then previously.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I would like to import all of my Renderosity type stuff over to my DAZ directory to improve workflow.&nbsp; Any tips on this?&nbsp; Which folders in the DAZ library should I be targeting?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was attempting a new install / re-install to update and begin dusting off my software and get with the Gen8 times. This would start with me getting rid of my thirty seven layers of DAZ side sphagetti soup and my 3 layers of POSER side. I mean I&#39;ve got some 30 different runtime/libraries/people folders in the DAZ side of the house which is why I don&#39;t use it as I don&#39;t understand the hierarchy over there. I&#39;ve got thign sdown to a comfortable roar of 2 levels of runtime folders in the POSER side of my DAZ 4.9 Pro.</p>

<p>This story&#39;s background is set so now to the sad, generic, and same ol&#39; same ol&#39; story. &quot;I thought I had it figured out&quot;. I had migrated &quot;everything&quot; from the lowest layer of POSER up to the true poser layer I worked in, I set all the stops, copied all my files and folders (hairs by FAR taking the longest) and then I deleted the lowest lairs of deep, dark dungeon and unusuable POSER area stuff. Just to be sure I ran the program to make sure everything still clicked and tricked and then I shut it down and moved on for awhile to do other things. EXCEPT I was wrong. Repeatedly. And the most important &quot;I was wrong&quot; was that I didn&#39;t IMMEDIATELY shut down and re-open DAZ to verify&nbsp; my files worked. I left DAZ open which meant it was more or less still operating under the old system of things. Somehow, in some way I deleted vicky files I should not have and now I&#39;m being told by previous working morphs that they can&#39;t find a bunch of things that used to be there. I attempted to re-re-DL some files and re-add them but those character morphs dont&#39; seem to be included with any pose pack. I&#39;m thinkign they are part of actual V4 character files.</p>

<p>Anyway, I need this fixed so I can continue my slow/slogging upgrade from V4 to Gen 8. I need to learn how to fix the side I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing in before I delve into fixing the DAZ side of my house which is a nightmare of trees and files.</p>

<p>Next step type question, any idea how to start re-arranging DAZ side of the hosue files without this same problem creeping up?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;ve just discovered that if I load poses that aren&#39;t specifically for&nbsp;genesis 8 on to a genesis 8 figure, it applies the pose with a slight offset to the eyelashes - they float several centimeters infront of the eye.</p>

<p>The poses itself comes in mostly fine, sometimes I have to tweak the arms to get it look right, but the lashes breaks. &nbsp;Anyone has any experience with this?&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently added a dedicated GTX 1660 (6GB) to help with background rendering.&nbsp; Depending on the complexity of the scene and the resolution of the render, I get out of memory errors that Daz Studio (or the card) seem to recover from.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s an example of the flow from the log, edited to emphasis the error:</p>

<p>Task manager shows the CUDA at around 99% and the Dedicated GPU memory at 4.8/6.0GB.</p>

<p><strong>Is the card running out of memory and then trying again and succeeding the second time?</strong></p>

<p>Running Daz Studio 4.11 Beta on an i7 with a GTX 1080 for monitors and GTX 1660 for rendering.&nbsp; Thanks in advance for any help.</p>

<p>On a few occasions i&#39;ve tried putting pants made for male figures onto female figures.&nbsp; But when i use the autofit it usually ends up getting distored in the crotch seam area.&nbsp; Verts that belong on the plus side of centerline will end up on the negative side and sometimes even the y and z coords on a vert will be different from its mirrored x vert. I want to avoid having to rebuild the mesh in Blender where i do most of my work.&nbsp; So is there something i can do in Daz3ds when i am prepping the figures and clothes before i export to Blender? should i not use autofit? is there a way to do it better using clones or whatever they are called?</p>

<p>One time i was trying to get a G3F clothing item to autofit onto a G8F but it kept crashing my Daz3ds.&nbsp; So what i did was put the G8F in there and left it visible.&nbsp; I put the G3F in there too and made it hidden and i put the pants on the G3F and left the pants visible.&nbsp; I changed the G3F&#39;s rest post to be the same as the G8F and then from there i just adjusted the morphs on the G3F figure until the pants looked like they fit on the G8F.&nbsp; Its a bit time consuming but if there isnt a better solution i will end up just having to do that.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello All. This is my first post, so apologies in advance for it being a question, and thanks in advance for any help!</p>

<p>I have my OS installed on a primary SSD for speed, but all my apps (including DAZ3D) and data installed on a secondary HDD. I back up my data periodically to a third portable USB drive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I am about to replace the secondary HDD due to age, and I&#39;m taking the opportunity to upgrade to Windows 10 Professional while I&#39;m there.</p>

<p>Last time I upgraded my primary SSD I did a clean Windows 7 install and reinstalled all&nbsp;programs. Most, such as my Steam library and Armoured Warfare, were detected by the new installs, thus saving me GBs worth of downloads. When I did a clean install of DAZ however, it did not recognise the files on the HDD - even though they were all there. I played around with Install Manager file location settings, but could not get it to identify the existing files and install them. I had to download them all from scratch.</p>

<p>Can anyone advise if they&#39;ve done a re-install and preserved already-downloaded material and had DAZ recognise and filter correctly?</p>
