      <description><![CDATA[<p>I downloaded the &#39;The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly&#39; bundle which contained a donkey, hippo, and bison model. Only the donkey shows up in my smart content section. The other two don&#39;t have checkmarks in the install window (I&#39;ve redownloaded and reinstalled them several times to change this but it didn&#39;t work). I can access the two models in the content library section, but I have to apply the texture map manually each time after loading the base model. It would be more convenient if they just showed up in my smart content tab like the donkey does.</p>

<p>Does anyone know how to fix this? The guides on this site for missing models had odd verbiage and/or outdated instructions and thus were not helpful.</p>

iRay rendering (pretty much exclusively). (iRay friendly nVidia GPU with CUDA)<br />
Fast rendering and iRay previews.<br />
dForce / LAMH and fibermesh.<br />
Large scenes - print size.<br />
Simple animation.</p>

<p><strong>I don&#39;t have a budget in mind, and could potentially go grazy.</strong><br />
<br />
Presently my current machine is starting to show it&#39;s age. I got it shortly before iRay came out.<br />
It doesn&#39;t handle dForce at all well. It renders pretty slow too.</p>

<p>I spoke to one of the DAZ vendors and their&nbsp;rigs look like the following (if this&nbsp;helps)<br />
<strong>i7/i9</strong> <strong>AIO&nbsp;</strong>(Assume the AIO is some kind of cooler?)<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Cafe Curls should come with a warning label.&nbsp; My small renders, say 400 X 400, usually take a few minutes.&nbsp; I put Cafe Curls on the only girl in the scene and my little render went to 2 hours.&nbsp; If I turn off Cafe Curls back to minutes.&nbsp; It is nice looking hair but this is unreasonable.&nbsp; Any suggestions to cut down the render time with this item?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hello, been searching for solution for a while but with no luck with the topic.
What i wanted to do is to have a mom's hand holding a child's hand. If i parent the child'd hand to the mom G8F figure's hand, it wont work as moving her arm / hand will move as well the whole child. (Supermom!?)
So techincially speaking, is it possible to simply "glue" the child's hand with the mom's? 
(Same question applies for all parenting "children bone" from 2 "parents".)

<p>I have to save and reopen - keyframes reappear. Rinse repeeat...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>How do you handle, or suggest to handle, a morph for opening a zipper?</p>

<p>The problem&nbsp;as I see it, is that when you morph the cloth and the zipper/zipperhead in default position everything is good,</p>

<p>But when you then apply a character or a pose, the zipper will open as expected, but the zipperhead will move relatively to its starting position, and therefore get lost compared to the zipper.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>And to add to the problem; what if you wanted to dforce it?</p>

<p>In general you seems to need some polylines to keep the clothing closed.</p>

<p>And instead of a morph, you migth select a number of steps (open1, open2, etc).</p>

<p>Then for&nbsp;each step you must remove the relevant&nbsp;number of polylines as well as change the rigid follow node that matches the new position for the zipperhead.</p>

<p>But I don&#39;t know if that even can be done.</p>

<p>Are you aware of any solutions to this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Have a bit of an issue where when I export from Daz3d to Cinema 4D the scalp has no texture. When I put in my textures for the face, torso, etc everything looks fine except for a part where the forehead is. I&#39;m assuming this is part of the hair model, in this particular example MRL Warrior Hair.</p>

<p>With my limited understading I think that the scalp texture that comes with the hair is supposed to be transparent except for the side buzzcut, but this is somehow getting messed up in C4D.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Anyone have any idea what I&#39;m talking about? Sorry, I know this isn&#39;t a Daz issue per se, but I&#39;m hoping someone can help me.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m doing my first PC build and was planning on moving my Daz content via an image file so I have a backup in case things go wrong. (I keep regular backups on external drives also but it seemed using an image file for the &quot;move&quot; would kill two birds with one stone).<br />
So my machine is Windows 10, the software to make the image file I&#39;m using allows me to choose selective files for the image.&nbsp;<br />
I use all the default install locations (except a D: data drive, I keep the C: SSD for OS only).<br />
I was planning on this build to be for Daz Renders only so I only wanted to move the DAZ files. I find lots of info on moving content, I think I&#39;m good there, but I don&#39;t want to overlook Daz Program files, add-ons, scripts and other things like Carrera and Hexagon.&nbsp;<br />
I looked through the help section on the site but couldn&#39;t find default paths where program files are installed. (I use default locations.)<br />
So question, just move content only and do a clean install of Daz? (Bearing in mind I&#39;ll want to also install the Studio beta so I can use my new 2080 card as well).<br />
&nbsp;I imagine with this method I&#39;d lose my current user settings/preferences, but that&#39;s not earth shattering.&nbsp;<br />
Then just adjust the paths, etc. so Daz Studio will see my content files?<br />
Or do the image file of everything Daz (Carrera, Hexagon, etc)? The downside I see of this approach is making sure I don&#39;t miss installing something and make a mess.&nbsp;<br />
I was wondering if anyone had best practice advice having done a similar move?</p>

Even closing the program and restarting won&#39;t do the trick. How do I get my default setting back?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi folks, hoping someone can shed a bit of light on this!<br />
<br />
I&#39;ve imported a clothing model into Daz via the Hexagon Bridge.<br />
It&#39;s UV mapped and converted to Iray surfaces<br />
<br />
I&#39;ve tried to add a Dforce modifier via both the Edit/Object/Geometry/Add Dynamic Surface and through the Simulations setting pane.<br />
<br />
I&#39;ve made sure the object and the surfaces are selected.<br />
<br />
When I hit the &#39;simulate&#39; button, the clothing simulates and drapes as you&#39;d expect on the default settings&nbsp;- but there are no parameters showing up in the Surfaces tab for me to be able to adjust the Dforce settings.<br />
<br />
When I select &#39;show Dforce surface adjuster from the flyout in the Surfaces Tab, it tells me the primary object does not have a dforce modifier applied to it (it clearly does, as it&#39;s simulating)<br />
<br />
When I clear the modifier and try it with a Static Surface, then &#39;show the Dforce Surface Adjuster&#39; it, rightly, informs me that it&#39;s a static surface ,so it can&#39;t - so it is clearly recognising that command ok.<br />
<br />
But here&#39;s the weird and frustrating thing. If I save the scene, close Daz and restart it, sometimes, but not always, the darn surface adjuster parameters will show up in the surfaces tab. Or they will just pop up after about the ninth attempt at telling it that it needs them.<br />
<br />
The sheer inconsistency is really getting me down as it&#39;s not that it&#39;s not working, it&#39;s just mostly not working!<br />
<br />
I&#39;ve installed the Dforce update that was pending, run Window/update/merge menus, shut down and reopened the Simulation Settings Pane and the Surface pane and still nothing seems to make the Dforce surface properties appear.<br />
<br />
When they do decide to turn up, they work perfectly (contraction, sheer, etc, all fine)&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Am I missing something blindingly obvious here? (hopefully!)&nbsp;<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It say the content is missing but it&#39;s not. For example it complains saying that female eyebrow.dfs is missing but when you look at the model the files are still there and when you use a model that has not the error message the rendering is exakt the same on both of them so what is it? a bug, I can ignore it but I think it should be fixed.</p>

<p>This happens 100% when I use female8 with poses that is longer than 20 frames.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there any update coming for any of the<span>[ Technophilia sets] <span>se sets</span></span> to make them smart compatible? It&#39;s a real pain to have to load them all in as individual segments, move them and not be able to attach them to gen 8s? If not any help on using them would be greatly appreciated. It&#39;s currently slowing the work pace down something chronic and as smart materials are so fast and pliable it&#39;s becoming a big pain fast. Many thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello good peoples,</p>

<p>So I am an hobbyist trying to figure things out. It is actually hard to explain because I don&#39;t have the technical vocabulary for the problem I get. So I start my figure with a model and then I add some existing morphs from sliders alright. Then it&#39;s not exactly like I want it so I export the figure OBJ and load it in zbrush lets say. Go back to Daz, zero my figure and apply the morph (rig figure to shape to get the bones right,&nbsp;ERC freeze the thing and save as a morph asset. I thought OBJ files were only the polygons. But, atm I have a problem with some hair product that gets distorted when I apply my custom morph to the figure. The said hair was on the figure I made the morph for. Even in a new scene, I apply the morph to a new figure, load the Hair in question and it gets distorted still. So the morph knows that the hair was fitted to the figure before I export the OBJ of the model.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So, How do I bypass this when creating the morph? Can I save the said morph I made?</p>

<p>Am I understandable here?</p>

      <title>Some questions and problems getting back to Studio</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I haven&#39;t used studio in a fair amount of time.&nbsp; I have been collecting content and installing it with IM, but I haven&#39;t opened Studio until recently.&nbsp; While playing with it, I noticed a lot of content folders were empty.&nbsp; It seemed like more than 50%, but maybe less, out of over 8000 installed items ( according to IM ) were missing in Catagories!&nbsp; There were even empty folders in &quot;MY Library&quot; portion of Catagory View, so I was wondering if IM was removing the dirrectories of updated products?&nbsp; I don&#39;t use smart content, Just the Catagory View. &nbsp; If IM is changing the location on disk of some updated products, i can understand some of my catagory folders being empty.&nbsp; I&#39;m trying to decide if it would be easier to totally wipe everything and start over.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I have some scenes and scene subsets that I have created over the years and if I do start over can I just copy them to the new directory?&nbsp; Some of them are already broken, so I was wondering, Are some formats just pointers to the items used in the Scene?</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; When I do the reinstall, I will probably just set IM to a different dirrectory and let it download overnight.&nbsp; Are all the products in the store downloadable in IM?&nbsp; In the past that wasn&#39;t the case.&nbsp; There was a filter for your Product Library to list the ones that weren&#39;t but, I couldn&#39;t find it in the forums.&nbsp; Anyone Know it?&nbsp; Are there products that have been removed so they just can&#39;t be downloaded anymore?&nbsp; I know there were some that have been discontinued from the Store but, usually you can still get them.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, my computer&#39;s resource usage when I&#39;m rendering has been causing it to take so much power that I&#39;m kinda tripping the breaker for the circuit it&#39;s on (all the circuits do this sadly). So I&#39;ve been thinking, maybe, if I throttle the renderer back then the system load won&#39;t hit that critical point? I just kinda don&#39;t exactly know how to do that.</p>

<p>Can anyone possibly point me in the right direction on that one? I just wanna throttle Daz&#39;s Iray render processes to, like, half it&#39;s current load as a better safe than sorry. I know my renders will take longer but it&#39;s a trade off I can deal with it if means my computer stops tripping breaker circuits any time I try to render something.<br />
<br />
In the end I&#39;m looking to slow the render down to lessen resource use without sacrificing render quality to any noticeable degree.<br />
