      <description><![CDATA[<p>Often, when I try to use displacement on an object, it works just fine, but other times it doesn&#39;t. No displacement happens at all, and you can tell the render engine isn&#39;t even considering the displacement map, or its settings. Is there another setting that keeps displacement from working, that I don&#39;t know about? Or is it just a fidgety thing?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have downloaded a car model on another site, it comes as an OBJ file with TGA and PNG material files.</p>

<p>After importing the OBJ car I applied the materials using DAZ&#39;s surface pane.</p>

<p>I then saved the finished model as a Scene and as Material Presets but when I later tried to open it again all the surfaces were missing.</p>

<p>Should I save it differently?</p>

<p>Should I place the TGA and PNG material files in a specific DAZ folder?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have some OBJs of clothing that are not in the exact A pose of Genesis 8. The legs are a bit more closed. Its quite easy for me to close a bit the legs of genesis 8 character to fit, but then I use the transfer utility the clothing wont use this transformation but the default A&nbsp;pose, deforming the clothing.</p>

<p>Is there any way of temporally ask genesis to use the slightly closed legs as default 0 transfomation pose in order to fit the clothing? I think something similar is done to fit genesis 3 to 8 as both have arms in different positions, but not sure how.</p>

<p>I have created a shirt in ZBrush, and I would now like to put it onto Genesis 2 Female.</p>

<p>Therefore I have loaded Genesis 2 Female, then I clicked &quot;File -&gt; Import&quot; and selected my shirt OBJ.</p>

<p>The shirt now sits on the model&#39;s feet (&quot;shirt1.png&quot;)</p>

<p>I have then clicked the Transfer utility and set some options (&quot;transfer1.png&quot;).</p>

<p>It didn&#39;t change anything.</p>

<p>How could I fit the shirt to the model?</p>

As best I can tell, the relevant files are exactly where they always were under /data. I haven&#39;t tested the male counterpart as exhaustively, but the preliminary tests seemed okay. Has anyone encountered this?</p>

<p>i got Ferin with Teen Jane and she appears quite &quot;edgy&quot;, especially when used together with other characters. On the pictures, notice the ears and the elbow (and also, her skin seems more grainy than other characters, but that&#39;s another issue). I changed the subdivision level, but that does not seem to do anything. Is there something i overlooked? Her promos did not show something like this.</p>

I want to buy and install Genesis Evolution; Head Morphs so I can have better control of facial features (noses, eyes, etc.) In the DAZ store it says Genesis Evolution: Head Morphs required DAZ Studio 4.11. I am using an older MacBook Pro (El Capitan) and it says no upgrade is available for my version of DAZ 4.10. Does anyone know if Genesis Evolution: Head Morphs will work with my version of DAZ Studio 4.10.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m at my wits end. I&#39;ve installed the latest version of Studio and I can&#39;t categorise anything. Random folders appear empty of content although Daz thinks they&#39;re populated.</p>

<p>I can&#39;t do anything to fix this, I&#39;ve reinstalled everything, reset the database, even did a fresh install of windows. Sometimes reinstalling the content works, but only on a few products.</p>

<p>I&#39;m very upset I have to do this at all, but I&#39;m one of those people who had their categories decimated by 4.9.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m prettty new to daz3D here is my first experiment, overall I&#39;m not too unsatisfied, he is levitating :-) but I know how to fix that.</p>

<p>My problem are the trousers! They do not look even halfway realistic, what can I do about that?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve persued the forums and haven&#39;t yet found even an example of this happening, let alone a solution.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I am running Daz&nbsp;4.10.0.123 on OSX 10.13.6, and I am having an interesting problem. I am running a dForce simulation on a single dForce-ready clothing product on the base G8 figure, no wind nodes, no funky extras, no hair or props or lights or set, just literally draping the clothing over a figure in a sitting pose.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After about 4/5 of the way through the simulation, my system logs out, resets, and all previous data was lost. This happens repeatedly and predictably, though not always with the same model or figure (i.e this particular instance it happens every time, others it is pot luck whether it occurs or not).</p>

<p>Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? I greatly dislike playing Russian Roulette with my work.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My C: drive is an SSD and I&#39;m running out of room, at least by my standards. It&#39;s not all Daz&#39;s fault. I have some stuff I need to uninstall. But I&#39;d like to move assets, saves, and images off of C.</p>

<p>I&#39;d probably be fine with the base program there. Would it be easier to uninstall then reinstall everthing so that all the bulk goes to a larger drive or manually move everything?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t have much experience with dForce, but have been able to create simple cloth draped items like caftans which have all worked perfectly on Genesis figures.</p>

<p>I&#39;d like to drape a circular plane onto a cone primitive to create a round tent.&nbsp; No matter what the simulation settings, the round plane (cloth) always penetrates the cone primitive half-way through the initialization phase. (screen-shots attached.)&nbsp; The cone is set as the collision item.</p>

<p>This should be very simple - shouldn&#39;t it?&nbsp; I&#39;ve played with all of the simulation settings, and nothing seems to prevent the problem.</p>

<p>Any guidance would be appreciated.</p>

<p>See my attached screenshot. In that screenshot, notice how white blotches bleed outward from the black lines into the blue background.</p>

<p>Is there a way to fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>A Minor store issue, I notice that the starter bundles still show up as un-purchased by the store despite purchasing the pro-bundle (that includes the starter-bundle).</p>

<p>Shouldnt the store filter out starter-bundles as purchased if you own the pro-bundle thay are part of?</p>

<p>It would definetly filter out the clutter of unesesary items in storelistings.</p>

<p>I just picked up this item on sale, and when trying to&nbsp; pose it, I had problems.&nbsp; &nbsp;The skirt was pretty bad, with legs poking through, but the shoulder is weird, as well.&nbsp; It&#39;s a nice simple item, and I was looking forward to using it, but there&#39;s not a lot I can do with it like this.&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried the adjustment sliders, and haven&#39;t had any luck, either before or after posing.</p>

      <title>Sci-Fi Warrior tutorial</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am using DAZ Studio 4.8 on a computer running Windows 7 Pro Home (64 bit, cica 2009)&nbsp;and another computer running Windows 10 Home&nbsp;(64 bit, bought in July 2017). The Windows 7 computer is dog-slow compared to the Windows 10 computer. I will be doing all my future work on the new machine.</p>

<p>I&nbsp;ran the &quot;Sci-Fi Warrior tutorial&quot; again to refresh my memories of how things work. The tutorial will not even get past &quot;Set View to Prespective View&quot; on the Hollywood Blvd layout.&nbsp;The tutorial stops at &quot;Set&nbsp; Shadow Type to Raytraced (Software Only)&quot; on all of the other layouts (Full Service [Beta], Self Serve, City Limits, City Limits Lite, and 3D Bridge). This happens on both machines. I clicked on everything that I could see, but&nbsp;the tutorial&nbsp;will not advance.</p>

<p>I re-installed the tutorial from the 18731_SciFiWarriorLessonforDAZStudio45Win_1.0_ds.exe file (from the online Product Library)&nbsp;with the same results. That installer put the files in &quot;D:\Daz 3D\Studio\My Library\DAZ Studio Tutorials\Sci-Fi Warrior&quot;. Same problems on both machines.</p>

<p>I then re-installed the tutorial from the IM00018731-01_SciFiWarriorBundle.zip archive that Install Manager downloaded. That archive put the files in &quot;D:\Daz 3D\Studio\My Library\content\DAZ Studio Tutorials\Sci-Fi Warrior&quot;. I am not sure where the tutorial looks for these files, but they all have the same file creation dates. &nbsp;Same problems on both machines.</p>

<p>My questions are:</p>

<p>1. Am I clicking in the wrong area to make this tutorial advance?</p>

<p>2. Is there a way to force these tutorials to advance? They seem to act like a video game which will not advance until some trigger is tripped.</p>

<p>Note: If you &quot;Preview Lights&quot; for the &quot;SpotLight 8&quot; that you create during the tutorial, it does nothing until you&nbsp;render an image. I turned all of the other lights off and the &quot;SpotLight 8&quot; did have an effect. The &quot;Rim Light 1&quot; and/or the &quot;Back Light 2&quot; seem to overpower the &quot;SpotLight 8&quot; while you are working on the scene.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I am probably missing something but I can&#39;t seem to get the MRL dforce hair to show up in Iray.&nbsp; I just see the scalp but no strands in the render.&nbsp; Any ideas of what I am probably missing?</p>
