Has anyone else experienced file load problems with DAZ Studio 4.11.0.383?

I have dozens of project files, many of them very complex with hundreds of objects in them, that load perfectly under DAZ Studio 4.10.0.123, but when I attempt to load them using DAZ Studio 4.11.0.383, the application crashes. The log file reveals nothing about the cause of the crash.

Fortunately, I always keep the previous version of DAZ Studio available when a new version is released in case of problems.

At this point I've had to abandon DAZ Studio 4.11.0.383 and revert back to DAZ Studio 4.10.0.123.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

2017 iMac, with MacOS 12.0/Mojave, 64-bits, 32gb RAM, AMD Radeon graphics card

ETA: Well, clearly Google is a better documentation help than Daz's own documentation: you only have to enter the serial number in DS itself to activate it. This begs the question of *why* this wasn't mentioned on the product page or the download page in the first place. Daz, do better when it comes to this kind of stuff. Seriously. :/

I finally took the plunge and started playing with denoiser ... WOW! It did great with some stills. Then I tried to use it on an animation and with each attempt the computer entirely shuts off and reboots at the first or second frame. I do not understand why this might be happening. Any ideas? Is denoiser not compatible with animation?

Other Info: when I built the computer, I put in a much larger power supply than was need in hopes of expanding so I doubt this is the issue. I also doubt it is my graphics card as I have an nvidia M6000 with 24 Gb vram available and only 9Gb are being used in this scene [it denoised this same scene as a still image just fine].

Thanks in advance.

I got a small issue that's driving me nuts. I finally learned to add bones and do some rigging. Now on the exporting, I did the bones, everything worked fine. I exported the file in .duf, on the small preview image, I can see the image of the Genesis 8 with the clothes on. But now I tried to import that file. It gives me literally nothing. All the clothes that have no rigs, are imported and work totally fine, but the rigged ones are gone. You can see on the image below, How all other 4 files got imported nicely, but the armband is rigged. And that one is gone. I had another version of the skirt that is rigged, that one doesn't appear as well. Anyone can tell me why is this happening. My time I worked on it, for nothing. Posted a second image, to show you, how I do the exporting of the assets/clothes.

Need help again.. sorry.

I'm trying to do a animation togheter with dforce.
It's a man laying in bed with a blanket on him.
I want the blanket to "move" togheter with the man.
So i place the blanket over the man and choose simulate current frame (0).
It's looking fine.
Problem is when i try to simulate the hole animation, the blanket "pop" up in the air
again and falls down over the man during simulation. First on frame 10 the blanket looks like frame 0 when i simulate curent frame.
I want to start dforce simulation from the simulated blanket in frame 0.
I've tried diffrent setting for the blanket - like start from shape off frame 0.

Anyone? Sorry if this has been answered, couldn't find an answer.

- Eden (genesis 3)
All these figures look identical!
When I load other characters, they look the same as described.
Error in the system ??

I also have an Asian figure:
- Miya Doll (genesis 8)
In this figure, the whole breast is totally crumpled! I think there is a real mistake in the figure. So far there was no update.

I am exporting a model set in obj format and importing into DAZ Studio. I know that when _d or d is postpended to an image name it means diffuse and it goes in the diffuse/ambient slot on the surfaces tab.. _n or n means normal and it goes in the normal slot on the surfaces tab.

Does _s or s always mean specular? I'm pretty sure it does but am not sure which slot on the Surfaces tab to put it. In iRay in DAZ Studio 4.11 do I put that image in the Surface tab under 'Glassy Layered Weight' slot or somewhere else?

Also some models end in _i or i. I have no ideal what _i means. Which slot do I put the _i in under the Surface tab for that model?

Not so much a newbie but more of a interim user, lately I have been trying to recreate one of my A.I. animations in Daz and have so far been good at setting things up.

However;

I want to create a first person blinking eyelids view and after a plethora of attempts and online videos, have run into a brick wall.

I want to key the camera so the lens closes up then slowly opens up, but have not found a way to do this. So, I created two planes, paranted them in fromt of the camera, but now when I move the camera which is parented to the head, they drift off into neverneverland and won't stay in place. On top of this, I want to make said items dissapear from view as the eyes fully open without tossing them out into deep limbo.

Can Daz key the elements for the camera, can disply setting be keyed, and can anyone help me solve the parenting problem?

Hello, I know there are several threads about Iray going to CPU rendering instead of GPU, but fact is that it's not about scene size of something like that..

I updated NVidia driver to the latest version (418.81) a few days ago, and redid now going through a clean install of the driver.

The scene is very small as you can see, so it's not a matter of memory, but Iray render throws an error on GPU and switches to CPU.

I wonder if it might be related to the driver (maybe others have the same problem with it?) or if it's something related to Daz..

Here is an extract from the log, it's on Daz 4.11 beta, but the same error is raised using the release build 4.10. I bolded the most useful infos (I guess)

I am still learning canvases and I'd really like to be able to render specific objects within a scene without any impact to the lighting of the scene. Does anyone know how to do this when emissive objects are involved? Thank you for your time.

I got a new computer just when 4.11 came out. It is fantastic, renders literally takes seconds in some cases now. However, Dforce hair and clothes is giving me fits. When I clock SIMPULATE simple setups take a long time. Complicated ones will never finich. I tried letting one run overnight and it went from 51% to 58% after running 10 hours. Is this a 4.11 problem? New computer? There is a setting I am not aware of? Worked OK on the old computer with 4.10 though it was slow but slow was better than never finishing.

As is, they are rendering without apparent bezier curves, and they're looking sort of like sharply bent wires, when viewed up close. I tried upping the tesselation points, but that bogged down the render. I also tried applying a subdivision modifier to the hair itself, and that worked beautifully, except that my GPU caught on fire, and ran away from home. :)

Is there a way to keep tesselation points at around 2 or 3, with smooth curves between each?
