Not sure if I should have put this here or new users. Been using Daz about 2 weeks, and all of a sudden there are grey bounding boxes around every model anytime you perform any actions. Move the model, move a slider, you name it. Any idea what could have changed? I tried the find an answer on my own, but had no luck. So anytime you move any slider the model turns into that image. And it happens in every viewport. I even tried re-installing, but it still does it. Any help would be great thanks.

I recently bought Stonemason's "Heart of the East". I load the iray scene which seems fine and can move the camera around the scene without any problems. But when I load the included "Camera Presets", all of the 6 included cameras are identical, so switching between them gives exactly the same view. This means that the included "Render Presets" scenes don't work correctly because of course they depend on the cameras.

I have tried re-installing the product, but with the same results. As this isn't a very new product, I am fairly sure that it's not an issue with the product itself because others would have posted about the problem, but more likely Daz Studio itself.

I am running Daz Studio version 4.10.0.123 and Windows 10 v1803.

I would appreciate any ideas on how I can solve this.

EDIT: I should add that Ihave tried other Stonemason scenes with multiple cameras such as "Urban Future 5" and everything is working as it should.

I'm looking in to Gamma Correction (GC) and I'm a bit confused; perhaps some knowledgable person could advise me?

I was reading an interesting post by Parris which can be found here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/54913/approaching-realism-in-daz-studio-and-gamma-correction-demystified/p1
In the first page of this thread, the forth post, Parris explains how to use GC. He (or she) states that GC should be applied (at a value of 2.2) in the Render Settings and also on the diffuse input image (texture) via the DS Image Editor. Parris explains that applying GC at 2.2 on the input image tells the Renderer to apply an anti-GC to the input image so that the input image can mix correctly with light and shadow and won't be brightened twice. (see the attached image)
To me this seems ilogical (if anti-GC is required on the input image to compensate for the GC on the output, then why put GC on the output in the first place, and why would a GC value of +2.2 on the input image result in a negative or anti GC?), however, I accept that this is probably because I don't understand how the GC is being applied and how it all works.

Assuming Parris is correct (and I do), the next question is why is the default value on all input images (eg diffuse texture) set to 0.0? Surely, if the input image GC value needs to be set to 2.2 then that would be the default value. Further is there any way of setting the default GC value on all input images (for the diffuse texture) to 2.2? Please don't tell me that each diffuse texture in a scene has to have it's GC set to 2.2 individually manually.

The Titan shows up in the Simulation settings though. I'm not sure what is different besides the card which was previously one of the 780s and worked fine.

The mac is running 10.11.6, Nvidia driver is running and as up to date as they can get on this OS and box. Not really sure what would be different.
Would it be the version of DAZ?

I basically use the other boxes as support render machines, for example, one box renders out frames 1-30, next renders out 31-60 and/or the main one renders out frames 61-90.

Any help would be great. Worst case scenario is that I can move cards round again. I just have some projects to crank out and could benefit from the faster card. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Simple answer - it's easy to create a new integer, boolean, float, etc slider as explained in Richard's first response. What you can't do (and what I wanted to do) is change an existing float slider to an integer slider.

Links To Follow-On Stuff Posts In This Thread:
- Using ERC Freeze To Create Dependencies: Since I had to create new sliders, I than had to recreating the dependencies from my existing non-int sliders I ended up doing this using ERC Freeze, and working out that part starts here.
- Slaving A Slider From The SURFACES Tab To A Slider On The Parameters Tab: The first step was to set up proxies on the Parameters tab using someof the sample scripts, and then using ERC Freeze again to set up dependecies. Playing with all that starts here.

Original post begins here:

I've created a Poser prop PP2 that has two parameter dials which are restricted to integer values

When I load this prop PP2 into DAZ Studio the dials are displayed (by default) as percentages, which can easily be fixed from the 'Settings' cog of the slider.

Once I've fixed that the 'Nudge' controls (the '-' and '+' at the ends of the slider) work as I want, i.e. integer steps (as used on the 'Shelf Number (1 to 6)' slider below).. However, if I drag the slider there's no such integer restriction (as shown on the 'Book Number (1 to 64)' slider below), and subsequent use of the 'Nudge' controls adds/subtracts 1.0 to/from whatever the value now happens to be. I can't see anything on the 'Parameter Settings' pane that would fix this.

So the question is:

Q: Is there a way to restrict a slider on the 'Parameters' tab to ONLY have integer values ?

Here's the definition of the dial from the PP2 for anybody who's familiar with that. It's fairly clear that the 'trackingScale' which sets the finest resolution that the Poser dial will work to is being used for the DS 'Nudge' controls. But it appears that the finest resolution of the DS slider is fixed, probably at 0.01 (1%).

I'm guessing that perhaps there's a parameter in the .DUF that isn't exposed on the Parameters tab ?
