      <description><![CDATA[<p>So... as the title says, I installed Studio on a new PC and am having a bit of trouble. Whenever I load any Gen 8 female I get a warning about not being able to find &quot;studio/my library/people/genesis 8 female/characters/genesis8female.dsf&quot;, even though they load in fine and are fully functional.</p>

<p>From my understanding there shouldn&#39;t even be a dsf file in the characters folder, those are in the data folder, as the actual morphs, right?</p>

<p>I tried copying that dsf file into genesis 8 female/characters and still get the error.</p>

<p>Not sure if it&#39;s because I have daz pointing to a different location for my assets, which I&#39;ve done on my PCs, and not had this issue, in fact, shouldn&#39;t she not even be able to load correctly if she didn&#39;t have the morph?</p>

<p>Time for a clean install maybe?</p>

<p>Unfortunately I have edited her eyes using the Surfaces tab and doing various not-so-good edits to the sclera / irisses / pupils, etc.</p>

<p>And I feel unable restoring G8F&#39;s original surfaces.</p>

<p>Is there a way to apply her original eye materials / surfaces again?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, I&#39;ve gone into People &gt; Genesis &gt;&nbsp;&nbsp;Characters, loaded the Basic Child character and started a render in Iray engine.... and he&#39;s coming out <em>bright purple</em>, even though the character is showing normal skintones in Viewport.&nbsp; I&#39;ve also tried applying !Iray Uber Base onto him, I&#39;ve reloaded the character and applied RiverSoft Art&#39;s <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-3delight-to-iray-converter">3DLight&nbsp;to Iray Converter</a> (which, oddly,&nbsp; messes up the texture allignment on this character), but no matter what I do (other than render&nbsp;him in 3DLight engine), the character renders bright purple.&nbsp; What am I doing wrong?&nbsp; 0o</p>

<p>I have a question that I hope you all can help me with.</p>

<p>I applied a auto pose ( a premade pose supplied by a vendor) to a DAZ G3 Female and now I can no longer slect her individual body parts for tweeks to the pose..&nbsp; Does anyone here know how to fix this problem that weirdly occurs every now and then?&nbsp;&nbsp; I figure the person who designed the pose applied a setting that must now be switched back off.. Just a guess.</p>

<p><strong>Oops!&nbsp; I figured it out.. There was a tiny black X in the Node of the Scene Box..&nbsp; I unchecked it and the problem went away! </strong></p>

<p>I just started playing around with rendering props over HDRI backgrounds with iRay. When moving the prop around, the background disappears and the movement is very slow, making positioning the prop a tedious trial and error process.&nbsp; Is there a setting in DAZ where w can reduce the resolution in the viewport as we move the prop around. When doing so, iRay shouldn&#39;t be trying to draw everything perfectly right away, it should wait until we have repositioned the prop to start trying to redraw at full resolution. Or maybe I have no idea what I&#39;m talking about, which is probably the case, like I said, I just started playing around with HDRI BGs.Any settings I can change or any workarounds?</p>

<p>I&#39;m fighting with a problem:</p>

<p>I have changed Genesis 8 Female&#39;s eye texture. My new texture doesn&#39;t look much different than the original DAZ texture, but it results in bloody / red eyes:</p>

<p>I&#39;ve compared my texture to the original DAZ texture, and both have blood vessels and are red to some extent.</p>

<p>Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve compared the original model and my own model for really long now, but I just don&#39;t see the difference.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Loaded Daz 4.11 on a removable drive, fought with the download manager to install everything in the right dirrectory but still puts things it on my C:drive.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve searched these forums for answers. Most the search engine for the forums here is useless, Google gives me more results, but nothing has worked. There are so many files now scattered all over my harddisks from the install manager now I don&#39;t know whats installed and what isn&#39;t. Made a post about finding the primatives and can&#39;t find that post was ever even up here. Daz forums aren&#39;t very helpful. I guess I&#39;ll put in a ticket,,,,someday.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a feeling that it has to do with parented portions of the snake, but I can&#39;t be sure or how to fix it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I tried making a custom morph for the Giant Fantasy Snake in Blender, but here&#39;s what happened. You can see what I did in Blender. It&#39;s only one change that I made.&nbsp;<br />
When I imported it to DAZ with the Morph Loader Pro, it worked but it was affecting the snake&#39;s mouth as well as some of the texture along the body.&nbsp;<br />

<p>And indeed when I do that, I can find assets in the Content Library -- but they don&#39;t always load properly.&nbsp; (The program says assets are missing, or I&#39;ll see outlines around the asset in the viewport instead of the asset itself.&nbsp; Or sometimes it works fine.)&nbsp;&nbsp;When I copy the assets&nbsp;into My Daz 3D Library, then they work fine.&nbsp; So I&#39;m wondering: do all these &quot;additional base directories&quot; have to reside somewhere within the My Daz 3D Library folder?&nbsp; Or am I just getting the directory structure wrong?&nbsp; If the latter, can someone point me to a directory structure I should create in each additional base directory?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve used the skin from&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/ethan-for-lucian-7">https://www.daz3d.com/ethan-for-lucian-7</a>&nbsp;for almost three years now, but today I started having trouble with it. There&#39;s a seam running around the head and arms, basically splitting the skin in half from head to toe. Other G3M skins work fine, including those using the same Base Male UV template. I&#39;ve tried removing and reinstalling the product, updating my video drivers, restarting Daz, and restarting my computer, but I&#39;m not having any luck.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve attached a screenshot of what&#39;s going on. Any advice? Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to determine the source of this issue. It started four days ago around a Windows 10 update and has plagued me since. The issue usually occurs during or immediately after an IRAY render has been started. My monitor will go black and report (no signal) as though a sleep timeout has engaged (though I have none operating). Nothing will reengage the monitor except a full reboot. I can, however hear the computer behaving normally behind the black screen. Each time I have reviewed the D|S logs and found nothing out of the ordinary except this last time, this was the report from the logs just before the screen blanked:</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I have this thing the past day or so where my GF8 and any character based on it, including V8, etc, load with elf ears.&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried reinstalling G8 Starter Essentials, but that hasn&#39;t worked.&nbsp; &nbsp;I have to zero out the figure, and then go load specific character morphs from the&nbsp;Content Library.&nbsp; &nbsp;Now I did install a G8 character from Rendo that comes with elf ears recently, but I didn&#39;t apply them, as far as I remember.&nbsp; I may have.&nbsp; Whatever.</p>

<p>What must I do to relieve myself of this problem?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Does any one know if Light Dome Pro-R works with Daz 4.10 pro 64bit. i know on the product page it says it is compatable. however my whole daz application crashes when i hit render button. i bought the first light dome pro and nothing install only a folder with some skydomes nothing else. i then bought and installed Pro-R, i follow the tutorial but dont have half the content that is in Dreamlight folder. I know u have to use this with 3delight, again that was not stated on the product page i only found out by threads. Even changing to 3delight the whole system crashes. So i have wasted enough money on lighting and i have now bought 2 dream light dome pro&#39;s that dont work on my system. Do i need to down grade to Daz 4.10 non pro version if that possible, or change to Daz 4.10 32bit. i have no idea how to contact dreamlight directly.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>These are some problems I&#39;ve encountered with the Alembic Exporter that completely stopped my project. It:</p>

<p>1) Takes over an hour to export 300 frames (or at least what SHOULD have been 300 frames) of a single figure at base resolution.</p>

<p>2) Screws up the UV maps.</p>

<p>3) Stops at arbitrary frames, usually around 140.</p>

<p>So I got the official Alembic sources from GitHub, and wrote a short program to convert a series of OBJs exported from Daz to an Alembic file that be imported into Blender, Maya, or whatever.</p>

<p>I have an initial version that works, but:</p>

<p>1) There&#39;s something I don&#39;t understand about how Alembic reckons time, because the model walks in slow motion in Blender.</p>

<p>2) I don&#39;t yet support material zones, so I can&#39;t re-texture the imported model.</p>

<p>3) I don&#39;t even support multiple objects, so the import is just one comprehensive object.</p>

<p>4) Blender complains about a missing transformation at every frame, I have no idea what that means, but it still works.</p>

<p>But it sure is nice not having to worry about JCMs and whatnot. And the Alembic code is AMAZING... I tested it with 40 frames, each one an 80 meg .obj, and the resultant .abc file is only 220 megs. There&#39;s some SERIOUS programming going on in there; I would not have thought that there would be much opportunity for any kind of compression at all. And it writes out frames so fast that the bottleneck is my parsing of the .obj file.</p>

<p>So, anyone who has suffered the same frustration with the Alembic exporter that I have, help is on the way...</p>

<p>So basically, I am trying to render an image series using aniMate Lite. However, when I move a character&nbsp;in one panel, I discover that the same character moves in all the previous panels despite the fact that I have set up the perfect pose for it already. How can I avoid this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Well, to be precise, the workflow. As spot render dont create a pop-up window as normal render (if it does, please let me know that would solve my issue immediately).</p>

<p>Scenario:</p>

<p>a) Render a 4500x3000 3:2 image, this exceed most monitor size</p>

<p>b) You notice that the head gear or something is covered by hair and want to just render the head gear so you can reblend in PS</p>

<p>c) Spot render is only performed on the view windows, which is way smaller and need a few steps to resize and crop and probably miss a few pixel width. Not to mention lower quality due to smaller size.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m sure there&#39;s a very simple fix to this, but a few hours research on the matter hasn&#39;t brought up a solution yet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I created a chain link in Blender, then unwrapped the mesh, and UV mapped a metallic texture onto it. (First screenshot)</p>

<p>Then I exported it as an OBJ (see next screenshots) and imported it into DAZ.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The problem is that once it&#39;s in DAZ, there is no texture anymore. It&#39;s white. What am I missing? (Thanks in advance!)&nbsp;</p>
