      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can&#39;t find any of my Renderosity content in the content Libraray. (NOT smart content, but the other one.) I only have a few and don&#39;t use them often, so I don&#39;t know how long they&#39;ve been missing.</p>

<p>I checked, and the files are still in their various folders in My DAz 3D Library. One of the missing is Chihiro, and gen3 character morph. When I open up the file I rendered with her, she appears naked, hairless, in the default g3 pose. The figure in the Scene tab is listed as &quot;Genesis 3 Female&quot; but looking at her it&#39;s obvoious she&#39;s a morph. The old thumbnail in My Library/Figures shwos here with hair.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What the heck is going on, and how do I fix it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I created a dress in Hexagon and imported it back to Daz Studio as OBJ file. Then I used &quot;Transfer Utility&quot; to auto-rig it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now when I apply ANY morph to G8F a dress also follows that morph. If I go to &quot;Parameters&quot; tab of a dress and activate &quot;Show hidden properties&quot; I can see that all applied to G8F morphs&nbsp;are also here.</p>

<p>Does Daz Studio copies all active morphs from G8F to Dress figure? How it knows which vertices of the dress to morph when base morph is applied on G8F?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I looked inside .DUF and .DSF files of a dress and there were NO mentions of any of applied morphs. That means Daz Studio somehow intellectually knows how to morph a dress, but does it do it?</p>

<p>Daz does not appear to be using my GPU in Iray viewport and full-renders.</p>

<p>I installed the latest CUDA drivers and have the latest GPU drivers installed.</p>

<p>I&#39;m running on a Ryzen 7 3700x and 16gb ram with an EVGA 2080ti Black.&nbsp; Windows 10 with latest updates.</p>

<p>Any suggestions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone! I was hoping you could help me with something...<br />
I was following a tutorial online about easily converting gen3 clothing to gen8 (I know the DAZ shop sells converters but money&#39;s tight right now). Anyway... I downleaded the pose from the tutorial and saved it where all my DAZ products are - a folder on my desktop. The problem is that I can&#39;t find the pose in my content library, it won&#39;t show up on my install or smart content panes and if I try to manually open it I get an error message saying &quot;an error occured while reading the file, see the log file for more details&quot; (the file is a .dson).</p>

<p>I tried contacting the person who posted the tutorial but no response yet.       <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently, (ok finally noticed) a difference in how some items are constructed that was confusing me when exported as FBX.&nbsp; In some cases, the resulting FK rig worked just fine.&nbsp; In others, while all parts were in proper placement, pivots weren&#39;t so couldn&#39;t open a door &amp; have it correctly pivot on it&#39;s hinges for example.</p>

<p>The difference it seems is the use of Bones vs. a Geometry Shell.</p>

<p>For example, I&#39;ve the B-17 Flying Fortress and it uses the Bones approach.&nbsp; Exported it &amp; have matching controls for props, bombay doors, etc. with bones in Lightwave.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve the Citroen Classic Van and it uses the geometry method.&nbsp; The import result is all is aligned but no individual pivot positioning; they&#39;re all at the origin.&nbsp; I can manually place these but it&#39;s quite a hassle.</p>

<p>Is there a means in Daz to create a bone I suppose where the pivot should be, or some other way to get pivots correctly placed into the FBX export?&nbsp;&nbsp; In both cases it&#39;s part of a Posing control; getting translated in one case but not the other.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I upgraded Daz Studio over the weekend to the latest version (4.11.0.383 64 bit), updated my NVIDIA drivers for my GTX 1080, and now I&#39;m noticing the quality of the Iray renders has declined. It&#39;s not night and day, but I&#39;m noticing everything looks a little bit more pixilated, a little rougher around the edges. This must be a software thing because the hardware hasn&#39;t changed, but I&#39;m not sure if it&#39;s with Daz or the driver.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve also noticed that the render times seem to be faster, which sounds good except everything I&#39;m reading about 4.11 here on the forums seems to indicate that render times are generally slower.</p>

<p>Any suggestions or help are much appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>OK so this is a really weird problem and there may not be an actual solution, but here&#39;s hoping!</p>

<p>I made an expression for G8M and saved it out. Somewhere along the line I had used a &quot;zero dials&quot; setting on the figure, instead of zero pose. Apparently, I used it before I saved the expression out. So...the end result is while it saved a file, it saved all zero dials and it doesn&#39;t work on a new clean base. OK fine....that makes sense.</p>

<p>But...I still have a scene with a figure in the same pose and expression. I check it...and it has EVERYTHING set to zero, including the expression. It IS in the pose and has the expression, but it&#39;s just all set to zero. I was trying to get the expression back so I can resave it. So I tried saving the pose out again. It works....loads on a new base and everything, the pose is there and the expression is loaded. But...it shows all zero dials..LOL.&nbsp;</p>

<p>That means it MUST be saving the info SOMEWHERE. So I went looking for any hidden dials and came up with basically nothing. The body has a few but not the face.<br />

Anyone have any ideas? I&#39;m hoping not to have to recreate the expression since I had it perfect :( It&#39;s so annoying because even though I can see it right in front of me I can&#39;t get at it. I&#39;m just sitting here giving DS dirty looks wanting to yell...&nbsp;GIVE IT BACK!</p>

<p>It&#39;s a great-looking pair, but I discovered that it has no support for bending at the toes at all, which is an odd design choice unless it&#39;s an oversight.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve attached a couple of pics showing this. One with just the toes part of the Genesis 8 figure bent upwards, and another using a premade pose.</p>

<p>Purchased the DAZ cat with dforce hair/fur and no matter what I do, I can&#39;t get the fur to show up in renders. I add the cat to my scene, add the dforce fur, color the cat, color the fur, pick fur length and a pose and then hit iRay render and it&#39;s just the cat sans fur.</p>

<p>The read me has no helpful information on this problem I&#39;m having, and I can&#39;t find any info when I search the forums or the net in general.</p>

<p>I used the diffeo plugins &quot;convert to rigify&quot; function and the pole targets look ok for the elbows and they are directly behind it.&nbsp; But for the knees the pole targets are like 3 inches in front of the knees and about 3 feet outwards to the sides.&nbsp; I converted the legs and arms to IK so that the feet dont stretch but instead follows the body.&nbsp; And when i take the rigify square control around the waist to move the whole torso down the feet stay planted like they are supposed to but the knees bend way outwards because of where the pole targets are.</p>

<p>Is that normal for a Daz figure in Blender converted to rigify with diffeo? i tried messing with the options to get the thigh pole targets more in front of the knees and further away but the thigh mesh always deforms to follow the pole.&nbsp; I cant figure out how to make a dupe bone to act as poles in the new position or how to temporarly disable the influences on the poles so i can move it.&nbsp; I did a bit of reading and i saw that Blender pole targets were a bit of a pain to work with.&nbsp; Anyone have any ideas for a workaround?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My very large content data base is not in C:\users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D/cms. It is in K:\Daz 3D\DAZ 3D Other\cms, where I want it to be. But the new version of DIM absolutely refuses to change the dir from the C: drive to the K: drive. DIM&#39;s settings&gt;Installation box has a field called Content Database Base. It allows me to change the default to the K drive location.&nbsp; When I type accept, the entire box with the installation tab disappears. When I bring it back the cms location is back to the C drive. I did not have this problem with the previous version of DIM. I absolutely do not want the content database clogging up my system drive.&nbsp; That information should not share space with the OS. I want it where I want it and DIM refuses to comply.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I bought Layered Fringe Hair (SKU 56271) because I really like how it looks from the neck up. The only issue I have is with the length of the hair. Unfortunately, the morph sliders for this hairstyle don&#39;t allow me to shorten the hair very much.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve looked at shorter prefab hairstyles, and none of them have the look I want above the neck, so my only option is to take this long hairstyle and cut off everything below the neck. Does anyone know how I can do this and make it look half-decent?</p>

      <title>[Solved] After re-install, rendering stops instantly</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had to reinstall everything, cause I suddenly got that PostSQE resource error and none of the solutions posted anywhere worked.</p>

<p>After re-installing everything looked fine again, but now when i tried to render my first scene, it basically starts to render and INSTANTLY stops at the first iterration as if it was finished.</p>

<p>I used render settings I used before, but maybe I&#39;m missing some basic setting somewhere. The render window only shows a completely black scene and the render progress window closes as if it was finished.</p>

<p>I then checked the log and it says the following:</p>

I was wondering if it would be beneficial to drive my displays from the integrated Intel GPU and reserve the beefy cards only for GPU acceleration work. Does anyone have an opinion on how much benefit, if any, that would provide when it comes to rendering times?</p>

      <title>New PC can't find Genesis 8 dsf (Solved)</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So... as the title says, I installed Studio on a new PC and am having a bit of trouble. Whenever I load any Gen 8 female I get a warning about not being able to find &quot;studio/my library/people/genesis 8 female/characters/genesis8female.dsf&quot;, even though they load in fine and are fully functional.</p>

<p>From my understanding there shouldn&#39;t even be a dsf file in the characters folder, those are in the data folder, as the actual morphs, right?</p>

<p>I tried copying that dsf file into genesis 8 female/characters and still get the error.</p>

<p>Not sure if it&#39;s because I have daz pointing to a different location for my assets, which I&#39;ve done on my PCs, and not had this issue, in fact, shouldn&#39;t she not even be able to load correctly if she didn&#39;t have the morph?</p>

<p>Time for a clean install maybe?</p>
