      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey guys!<br />
I&#39;ve added a simple model to the scene in DAZ Studio (genesis 8 - Ai <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/ai-hd-for-genesis-8-female" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/ai-hd-for-genesis-8-female</a>), posed her and rendered just as it is - no lights, clothes, backgrounds or anything. I&#39;m a photoshop artist so all I really want is the model.<br />
I have my Iray settings according to greymouser69&#39;s answer in this thread <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/163416/optimal-iray-settings" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/163416/optimal-iray-settings</a></p>

<p>The problem is as soon as I open the png in windows photo viewer or in Photoshop, if I zoom she quickly becomes blurry... Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Something in the settings?<br />
I have Iray set for rendering the viewport...</p>

<p>We are a small group that would like to work on some rendering projects.<br />
But instead of everyone buying a high tec computer for themselves, we thought about a server with a rdp connection, best realized through vdi (giving everyone a native desktop experience)<br />
Lag should not be an issue. I&#39;ve been through multiple treads like this one <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/163911/daz-over-remote-desktop" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/163911/daz-over-remote-desktop</a> , but those mostly are about using rdp not as vdi.<br />
Anyone experience regarding setting up a vdi system on a servernetwork? I do not wish to just make serverfarm, where people use the server for batches of rendering. But a true Workstation for remote users.<br />

<p>Now using consumer hardware in a server built can be a bit annoying. Graphic card passthrough might not work as intended.</p>

<p>1) First question ist regarding CPU/GPU, there seems to be a ton of discussion whetever you should only do CPU rendering or if GPU rendering is much better.<br />
If I need GPU rendering, do I get passthrough to work with a 1660TI, as example? It should work for a NVidia professional, but they are a bit too expensive for the moment.<br />
(For any users it should be just like their homesystem)</p>

<p>2) Citrix XenDesktop would be an option to do vdi, has anyone a better one? Team consists of 4 people, starting with 3.</p>

<p>Just wanting to make sure I don&#39;t waste 3k+ on a build that is not going to work. Help is much appreciated! :)</p>

Using the beta, as I was trying in 4.10 first and it was just crashing studio lol.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Don&#39;t know why but I can no longer drag with the viewport controls. I used to pan, zoom and rotate with the dragging controls using the universal tool but out of the sudden all of those no longer react. Moreover I can no longer drag any dials. Only thing my Magic Mouse does is zooming by using the touch area.</p>

<p>Did switch on/off my mouse multiple time, did restarts, changed tools etc. - still no dragging.</p>

<p>There are actually only two things I did since I last DAZ studio and everything was fine:</p>

<p>- Install some newly purchased products via DIM - but those should not be able to break anything<br />
- Update macOS from 10.14.2 to 10.14.6</p>

<p>Any ideas?&nbsp;Oh and there is of course no keyboard malfuction. Also dragging to change a windows size does work without any problems.</p>

<p>So I can drag to change the size of the DAZ studio window. I can use the rotating cube to rotate the viewport in the fixed steps allowed by that tool but I can no longer use the standard dragging elments from the control.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I used GOZ to export a genesis 8 character to Zbrush and did a full body sculpt with digitigrade legs but when I bring it back into Daz Studio and apply it as a morph the legs and feet are pretty messed up, my suspicion is it has to do with the foot IK. Any advice on a workflow for this? I am relatively new so specifics are always appreciated!&nbsp; Also, I am sure its a similar idea but elongating arms/legs/fingers etc curious if any special provisions are needed to do these sorts of things as a morph as well.</p>

<p>I am having some trouble with importing a BVH file into Daz and getting the Daz figure to match the animations motions.</p>

<p>I did the motion capture on the daz genesis 8 skeleton, and did manual touchups in blender 2.8</p>

<p>But as you can see from the video below there are some discrepencies when I try to import the animation into Daz. Sometimes the arms don&#39;t move correctly, and at one point Daz just stops applying the hip rotation.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve seached around quite a bit just to get as far as I have, and I&#39;ve seen a few examples of people with the same issues as me, but they don&#39;t address them.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any advice for me? I&#39;d take anything at this point.</p>

<p>The only alternative I have is to export my characters out of Daz and just do all my rendering in Blender. However that is a monumental task, one that stopped me completely in my tracks. I absolutelly canno&#39;t make anything exported from daz look even remotely presentable in blender, and all the tools designed to help facilitate that process are not up to date for daz 4.11 and blender 2.8.</p>

<p>Anyways. Heres a short video showing the problems I am having, and how I got to this point.</p>

<p>EDIT: I think I figured out why the hips stop rotating near the end. It looks like the hips Y axis cannot rotate past -180 in daz. So I opened that parameters settings and disabled the limites (No idea why disabling rotation limits doesnt do exactly this) and that seems to allow the hips to rotate like they should. However the hair behaves as if the hips are still locked at -180 and does not follow the characters head.&nbsp;Otherwise the arms not twisting during the stretch can be manually rotated in daz to the correct position, but&nbsp;that would be a pain to do for every frame, plus it does&nbsp;not explain why it wont move to that position itself, since it&#39;s not hitting a hard limit like the hips. I still have no idea why the arms won&#39;t cross the chest either.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since the latest update to 4.12 I have been having the following issue.</p>

<p>When I save a scene either via file/save or control-S key combination the first save works as expected. The save dialogue box pops up and I can name the scene and save.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is where things change. In the past if I made a change to the scene I could just hit the ctl-s and it would update the saved file. Now it tjhrows up the save dialogue box again. This is really annoying as I have to browse to find the original file and overwrite it.</p>

<p>This has also onflowed to 4.11 now.</p>

<p>Any help appreciated. I have checked the keyboard settings and it appears normal. As a check I set the controls back to default. No change.</p>

<p>I often use the shortcut &quot;W&quot; to zoom into the scene, and I use the other keyboard controls as well.</p>

<p>The problem with this, is that when I then use the viewport controls to move the &quot;view&quot;, it doesn&#39;t work properly anymore. Instead of rotating around the center of the view, it &quot;rotates itself&quot;.</p>

<p>Then, when I &quot;frame&quot; the view over something, it goes back to normal.</p>

<p>How could I prevent this from happening? I don&#39;t know if the standard mode is called &quot;Pan&quot; or something like that, but I always want that one to be the default.</p>

I understand that the anlge of reflection is the oposite of the angle of incident.&nbsp; But, is there an easy way to align a reflection in a mirror with your subject and camera?</p>

<p>Example.&nbsp; You have someone looking in the mirror, but you want the camera to pick up the face in the mirror.&nbsp; I can turn on NVIDIA Iray preview rendering, but when I go to reposition anything in the scene, the image goes to the white figures until it re-renders.</p>

<p>I thought about looking at a top view and aiming the camera at the oposite angle of the subject, but even that&#39;s hit-n-miss.</p>

<p>So, anyone have a surefire way to do this quickly?</p>

I have a script that I am working on where I want it to get the image map from one property (I was able to do this), then invoke a saved shader preset, then apply that found map to a property after the preset has been applied.&nbsp; How do I word the script to call that preset, then come back and continue running the script to the end?</p>

<p>I know how to get the found map applied to other properties, I just don&#39;t know how to get the shader preset to run in the middle of a running script.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just got a new win 10 laptop.&nbsp; The main content drive is drive D instead of C, and I can&#39;t get the Install Manager to change the &quot;Content Database Base&quot; from Drive C to D.&nbsp; Everytime I try it has changed back when I reopen the &quot;Installation&quot; tab to check it.</p>

<p>All my content is going to drive C which is way too small to hold even a tenth of it.</p>

<p>I was able to change the archive pathways on the Downloads tab, and the Manifest Archive / Software Bases on the Installation tab, but need help with changing the Content Database Base pathway.</p>

The outline of the frame in the active viewport shows that the hydra is supposed to be entirely in the frame, but in the actual render it&#39;s cut off. It&#39;s actually cut off on all sides, not just the top one. It was working fine until earlier today. I don&#39;t know what I could have changed to cause this.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I also tried a render in a new scene, but that one seemed to work just fine.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there anything I can do to get dim to reset itself. Will uninstalling it work?</p>

<p>For example, I used it to uninstall daz 4.11. It did not do it. it shows up as downloadable again. I download it, click to install. It flashes briefly and removes itself form my to be installed list, but doesn&#39;t actually do anything.</p>

<p>I woul dlike to start afresh. is there anything I can do?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a number of unique characters I&#39;ve modded over the years in generation 6 (genesis 2).</p>

<p>I see some nice gen 8 clothing that I would like to use.&nbsp; But there are no conversions on the store to make that mod.</p>

<p>I suppose I could mod them to generation 7 (genesis 3), save, and then load that onto generation 6&nbsp;and it should work.&nbsp; But two conversions might cause...interesting side effects.</p>

<p>So does anybody here know how to make a custom conversion to shift directly from generation 8 to generation 6 that I could do on my end if nobody is going to put one up for sale?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, does the recent DS 4.12 update now allow to constrain a hand for example to another object during animation, like you can in Motionbuilder with a parent/child constrain?<br />
2 people walking hand in hand for example, with one persons hand constrained to the other persons hand so they don&#39;t lose touch?</p>
