      <description><![CDATA[<p>hi guys. Applying some morphs and poses with GF3 will cause the head to pierce the hair.</p>

<p>It seems to occur with hairstyles with bones in the hair. Smoothing Modifier had no effect. Is there any solution?</p>

<p>In DAZ i select these 4 GPU (without CPU), but while rendering only 2 GPU working (1st and 2nd).</p>

<p>If i select only 3rd and 4th - they render fine.</p>

<p>Tried 4.11 and 4.12 beta, tried adding RAM - same results.</p>

<p>How to make work all of them? Please, help!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Unfortunately my CPU chipset went bad, and I am in need of upgrading.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I render Iray with an nVidia 2080Ti.</p>

<p>Are there any CPU processors Daz recommends for rendering?&nbsp; I usually have my cards and my CPU render.</p>

<p>The computer shop I use recommends an 8-core i7.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I use the rotation and universal tools when posing and normally it&#39;s fine.&nbsp; I&#39;m in one scene where the universal tools movement arrows work fine, but I can&#39;t use either it or the rotation tool to rotate the character or her hip or anything else.&nbsp; I thought it might be V3D&#39;s Pose Control, but that shows everything unlocked.&nbsp; Right now I&#39;m using sliders to rotate, and that&#39;s of its own kind of PITA.</p>

<p>I&#39;m pretty sure I screwed something up.&nbsp; I don&#39;t have this issue in other scenes I&#39;ve opened and tried.&nbsp; Halp!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>In Studio 4.9.2.70, all of my Poser content shows up, in the &quot;Poser Formats &gt;&quot; category, and as custom products in the Content Library.<br />
In newer versions of Studio, 4.9.4.117, 4.10. 4.11. 4.12... nothing but textures, every set is a warning triangle, and a &quot;File does not exist&quot; message when clicked.<br />
The &quot;Poser Formats&quot; section of the Content Library doesn&#39;t even have the arrow, it&#39;s as if I have no Poser content at all.<br />
I hope someone can tell me why the older version of Studio sees my Poser content, and the newer versions don&#39;t, and how I can correct this.<br />
Thank you.</p>

<p>Edit: If I load it in 4.9.2.70 and save it as a Scene Subset, then it shows up in newer versions of Studio under DAZ Studio Formats &gt;. Weird.</p>

<p>Any time I try to render even a single character with this using the GPU, it fails. I can render the same character with the GPU just by changing to a different hair. I have rendered the character with the Faye hair using the CPU instead of the GPU. What&#39;s going on? Is Faye Hair exceeding the 4 gigabytes of video ram all by itself? If it is, should I be returning it on the grounds that it has an unreasonable system requirement?</p>

<p>I think the character I used was Babina 8. And normally I can render multiple characters with hair, clothes, and an HDRI within that 4GB of space.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have encountered a problem with IRAY that I cannot resolve. If I render in IRAY using point lights, hair renders fine. If I use a mesh light, or set a spotlight geometry to &quot;disc&quot;, for example, the skullcap is not longer transparent, but instead shades the skin of the figure. See the example images: Point spotlight, mesh light, Disc Spotlight, and IRAY render settings.</p>

<p>Has anyone else encountered this, or found a solution?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve got an admittedly complex scene with several dForce items (including strand hair on a figure) and the catalyzer version of Big Cat 2 (with the Lion&#39;s mane.)&nbsp; I can work with the scene fine, but after I save and close DS, I cannot open the file. It crashes immediately, even with the Iray preview off. This about gave me cariac arrest the first time it happened -- I&#39;d been fiddling with the scene for the better part of 14 hours and suddenly could not open it! Fortunately, I was able to turn off the Catalyzer plugin, reopen DS, and then the file opened fine.&nbsp; I deleted the catalyzer groups from my Lion, saved again, turned on Catalyzer, and was able to open the scene without incident, thank goodness. My workaround has been to save the scene without the catalyzer groups and then (every time I open it) add them in before rendering. This is a pain in the rear, but is working.</p>

<p>My PC is pretty top-notch -- i7-8700 hex core with 32GB RAM and a pair of 1080-ti GPUs. HWiNFO64 is not showing an overload on the CPU or GPU memory, nor is the load on my CPU cores unusual. The crash also happens if I have the catalyzer plugin on and I try to delete the catalyzer hair groups from the scene.</p>

<p>Is this a known issue?&nbsp; Should I file a ticket?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[So far I've only been using daz with Macbook and this will be my first Windows machine. That also means I will be a newbie on Iray too. I have some questions before I install everything,and I really don't need things to go the wrong way especially that I haven't used Windows in almost a decade. So I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read and answer:

1. Should Daz content be fine on a Hard drive (SSD is only 250gb compared to 1TB of 7200 rpm on hard drive) or should I get an external SSD? 

2. Does RTX 2070 work with the current version of Daz or only the beta?

3. Do I have to update the NVIDIA drivers (I read somewhere people encountered issues after updating and had to downgrade, a process I am not familiar with at all)?

4. Is it okay if I continue using Daz and the content on my old Macbook (the TOS are not specific about that but I thought it's worth checking)?

I know where the textures are but every single tutorial says, import via &quot;diffuse color&quot; but there isn&#39;t a diffuse color tab (head selected - surface tab). There is only a base color tab. And when selecting this one, the texture for the face changes but how do I change the color for the rest of the body so that the face has a smoot shift? Long said, is there a valid tutorial for Genisis 8 transfer? I assume that the tutorials are only for Gen3 judiging by the fact that there isn&#39;t a diffuse color tab. Thank you.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Help me out because those keyed stuff aren&#39;t working like in other softwares.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I want morph on 0% at X -70 and 100%&nbsp;at x-110.</p>

<p>So i key 0% on x0, 0% on x-70 then 100% at x-110. Then ERC Freeze and Check Keyed Extract from play range.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I end up with 50% morph at x0 witch just blows my head off. Other results are even worse like 100% at x0 or 100% at x180.</p>

<p>EDIT i just used propety hierarchy and fixed the values and this damn thing finally works. But i still don&#39;t get how keyed ERC works.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have all my content on a separate drive which is not SSD. Recently I have had a problem loading a script (Ultimate Poser). It takes between 45 to 65 secs. Everything else works fine but I&#39;m wondering if I can get this script to load from my C: drive which is SSD. It&#39;s the only thing I can think of that might be slowing it down. (I&#39;m seeing if there are any suggestions from the vendor as well). Any ideas much appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I&#39;m hoping someone can help me. I have 2 harddrives on my computer. My main drive is C. My backup drive is F. I installed DAZ and DIM on my F drive. I also installed my DAZ content file on F. My problem is that I have a duplicate file at C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library. Everything I install in my&nbsp;DAZ content file is added there as well. Is there a way to change that to F? I tried to do it in DIM settings, but it won&#39;t let me. I have over 2500 DAZ items to download and not nearly enough space on my C drive, which is why I have the F drive, for backup space.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve taken a character from Daz Studio&nbsp;to Blender by exporting everything as an .obj. I&#39;m using the default Daz export settings but changing scale to 1% and checking &quot;No Maps&quot; so I don&#39;t duplicate large image files unnecessarily&nbsp;(I&#39;m primarily doing this to work with materials in Eevee and Cycles, so finding and applying textures in the node editor is part of the process anyway). For the most part this works exactly as expected - Genesis 8 has all the necessary material slots in Blender, and&nbsp;G8 maps for arms, legs, teeth, etc all apply like they&#39;re supposed to in their corresponding slots. The same goes for a few other items I&#39;ve exported (clothing, shoes, props).</p>

<p>The problem I&#39;m running into is with one specific object, OutOfTouch&#39;s &quot;Classic Bob Hair.&quot; In Daz Studio, this has materials separated into areas like &quot;bangs&quot; and &quot;side&quot; and &quot;cap,&quot; like a lot of hairs. When I export it, however, it only has a single &quot;Default OBJ&quot; material slot available. Almost every one of those missing material slots uses the same textures, so applying them all to the one material slot works fine, but the &quot;cap&quot; material needs a totally different set of textures and I have no way to apply them in Blender.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried exporting the hair with other settings selected under &quot;Write Groups&quot; and &quot;Write Surfaces,&quot; but none of it seems to fix the problem of this .obj losing all of the material slots in the export. Does this problem sound familiar to anyone who understands this kind of process a little better than I do?</p>

<p>Edit: I was able to solve the problem in Blender. The UV map was still intact, so I selected the cap geometry by highlighting its island in the UV editor and assigning it to a new material. <p>I would like to know if there is a converter available that would project a Genesis 8 Face Map onto a Genesis 2 Face texture.</p>

<p>For example, I would like try the Genesis 8&nbsp;Map&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;G8MBaseFaceMapD01_1001.jpg&quot; on a Genesis 2 model and thus project it for example onto&nbsp;&quot;M5PhillipFace01.jpg&quot;.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am getting the following error every time I try and load a G8 female character:</p>

<p>2019-09-07 13:41:19.842 Could not resolve : &quot;/Studio/My Library/People/Genesis 8 Female/Characters/Genesis8Female.dsf&quot;</p>

<p>The odd thing is, I don&#39;t use that file path for anythingfolder for anything.&nbsp; I have set my library up using different file paths than the default.&nbsp; It&#39;s been working fine for a couple of years, and the character load fine, it just throws a popup with that error.&nbsp; Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it short of wiping out my install and starting over?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As you can see, I&#39;ve made a planet. I added one spotlight... Not only is it completely illuminated but the shadow is going in the wrong direction! I want there to be a darkside as if a sun is shining on it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Whenever I misclick while adjusting a parameter (scale, for example), the cursor I&#39;m using disappears. Things are still selectable, but I can&#39;t see where I&#39;m going until I&#39;m on something that gets highlighted. So I sigh, press crtl+s, and restart Daz Studio to get my cursor back. This is happening more and more and it&#39;s extremely aggravating.</p>

<p>No, my graphics card is fine, thanks. My computer is fine, thanks. The problem is Daz, and I&#39;d like a solution, otherwise I&#39;ll just send a bug report or complaint mail or something.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I wanted to use <a rel="nofollow" href="/forums/profile/predatron">@predatron</a> s &quot;Driftwood Spa Poses&quot;, but the Water wakes and ripples just give me the error that the png files not being found.</p>

<p>Reinstalled everything but no luck. Also manual download and overwrite helps nothing. Please could one help me out here.</p>
