      <description><![CDATA[<p>Every time I try to render something direct to file in Daz Studio 3, the rendering lasts about 2 seconds and then spits out a mostly blank picture with maybe 2 or 3 pixels actually rendered. This isn&#39;t a problem when rendering in viewport, but when rendering to file this ALWAYS happens. Has anyone else ever had this issue? Is there a solution?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I was trying to find a way to make some lettering and lines and whatnot to appear on the bodies of my characters. First I tried the IRAY Decals, which did cause the imagery to appear on their bddies. But if you move the various parts of their bodies (bones, maybe) then their body parts move outside of the Decal node&#39;s cube and then the projection either moves or disappears altogether from the part of the body that moved.</p>

<p>Next I tried creating a Geoshell. And that did make it so my imagery appeard on the characters&#39; bodies, and even moved with their body parts. But the geoshells have separate textures for various parts of the body. So it became impossible to put the image on a place that spanned two of the textures. And as my image software deals with flat images and the textures are wrapped around a female body, there was distortion.</p>

<p>The only other thing I could imagine is to make lots of Decal nodes so there is one for each part of the body that moves. And regardless of whether I use Decal Nodes or Geometry Shells, I&#39;m going to have to make a lot of small textures instead of one big one. It&#39;s a lot of work for something that used to be simple with DecalMaster.</p>

<p>What I&#39;d really like is something like DecalMaster that lets me load a figure and an image, and then lets me drag that image to any part of the figure and generates the necessary textures for me regardless of where the seams are. But DecalMaster is old, and doesn&#39;t seem to be updated to be usable with the current technology. I figured there had to be a GeoShell editor since people make products based on GeoShells.</p>

<p>I&#39;m probably willing to spend some money for a product that solves the problem, as I did with DecalMaster long ago. But, as this is a hobby for me, I probably wouldn&#39;t spend hundreds of dollars. Is there any solution out there for me?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi folks, I&#39;m a relatively new user and I have been following some tutorials about transferring Morphs between Gen and Gen 8<br />

I manage to get the Dial to show etc, but every Tutorial I follow whenever I get to the part of testing the Morph Dial All that happens is that the figure Shrionks or Grows, no actual change to the shape only to its size.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have tried to find a solution to this problem to no avail.<br />
<br />
Could someone please put me pout of my misery I&#39;m sure there is something silly I&#39;m missing that is causing this.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I originally installed the Daz 4.11 beta a few months back because the official release of Daz 4.10 didn&#39;t support rendering with RTX cards. Things were were generally fine, and then the official 4.11 release came out. I installed both the new 4.11 release and updated to the new 4.12 beta. Now I would rather use the official release and not even mess around with the beta, but the new 4.11 release does not work. When I start it everything loads except for the veiwport window, and if I click anything it stops responding.</p>

<p>The weird thing is that the 4.12 beta still works fine, but I would prefer to not worry about dealing with its buggy issues. My Nvidia drivers are up to date and I&#39;ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling both versions of Daz.</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Aghhh gaaaaadddd!</p>

<p>Spent too much time on this so time to ask experts. Using DIM (Windows 10 Pro), my downloads are getting to anywhere between 10-90% and failing. Repeated start queues and they eventually download. This is proving to be a royal pain...</p>

<p>So I&#39;ve turned off firewall completely, turned off for just DS and DIM, changed location for install files (from C to D drive - both fast SSD), and to date nothing, still failing.</p>

<p>Is there something obvious I am missing here? DS 4.11 seems to be working really well, rendering superfast (RTX 2080), but for the life of me downloading our existing catalogue of files is a nightmare.</p>

<p>Any help would be hugely appreciated, and yes I have seen this asked before.</p>

<p>Solved before posting but maybe this will help someone else...</p>

<p>If you&#39;re not seeing what you&#39;re looking for be sure to check ALL tabs around a section. There are tabs on the sides AND on top.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Personally, I can&#39;t say i&#39;m a fan of this interface but, honestly, I have no feedback to the designers so I&#39;m going to relegate my opinion to that of moderate whining about having to learn something. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Check the Window -&gt; Panes (Tabs) to make sure you&#39;ve not hidden something from yourself.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also...try clicking something in the scene (a figure or prop for example) as some of the gizmos don&#39;t show unless something is selected.</p>

<p>Finally...learn how the context sensitive filters work. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m constantly hiding things from myself...and I have more than a couple years of experience.</p>

<p>I have a scene with multiple light sources; I want to highlight a character in my scene, so I&#39;m trying to apply some colored lights only to that character.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t know if it&#39;s possible to apply a light to a specific object without using LPE. I am new to Light Path Expressions and I don&#39;t know&nbsp;exactly howthe language works. <p>But It seems it&nbsp;doesn&#39;t work with groups...</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to work in more depth with DS, and i&#39;ve read that is better to make iRay use only GPU.<br />
So i unticked CPU in the advaced hardware tab, but DS uses 100% CPU anyways (i know that when vram exceed, DS switch in CPU mode)<br />
The verbose says:<br />

Texture memory consumption: 632.132 MiB for 62 bitmaps&nbsp;<br />

I have a GTX980ti 6 GB Vram and 16 GB of ram.<br />
Isn&#39;t that enough? What does Geometry&nbsp;34.8993 MiB stands for? Is that 34 GIGABYTES?! &lt;- If so, that&#39;s explained.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, since there&#39;s a sore lack of legit bird feet for G3/G8, I figured I&#39;d try to use Creatura - The Harpy (<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/creatura-the-harpy-for-victoria-4">https://www.daz3d.com/creatura-the-harpy-for-victoria-4</a>) on G3/G8 (I&#39;m using G3F here, since I don&#39;t have the V4/M4 Clones at this time). In a previous thread, it was said that to fix this, you&#39;d need to adjust the Weight Maps in DS, so the talons don&#39;t overlap and then auto-fit doesn&#39;t overcompensate for any missing bones or w/e is lost in translation.</p>

<p>To be blunt, documentation for how to use Weight Maps is <em>terrible</em>. I&#39;ve found Blender tutorials to be less obtuse than DS&#39; documentation. I suppose if I was that desperate, I could attempt to MacGuyver and do a re-geografting to G3/G8 in Blender, but that&#39;s too much work to do and frankly, I&#39;m lazy, lmao. If someone can help me (and anyone else who&#39;s Weight Map Tool Challenged) figure this out in as simplest of terms as humanly possible, please, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;ve not had a problem using Ps ABR brushes in Affinity Photo until now.&nbsp; Like Ron Deviney&#39;s brushes work fine as do others.&nbsp; It works fine with newer brushes, but not so much with older ones.&nbsp; &nbsp;I know <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTlCXA9P-sQ">there&#39;s a way</a> to open ABR files in a new version of Ps, and then save them as a new ABR, but I don&#39;t have&nbsp;Ps installed.</p>

<p>Is there another way, or do I need to find some kind soul with access to a newer Ps to do it for me?</p>

There are three skin options. This problem occurs with option 1 and 3 while option 2 looks ok.<br />

I have tested different light settings and to reinstall the item. Same issue.<br />

When I load another sometimes I can&#39;t fine example hair to load for thtat charcture, I figure well ,&nbsp; maybe I don&#39;t have a hair that works on that characture, So I delete that characture from the scene, and from then on that is the only characture that will be a option for me to choose form. I then have to close down Daz and try again, and reopen Daz again then I have pretty much and characture I want, but from then on I start having a problem loading another figure. Just started having this problem, and now it is consitant at not letting me get all the things I want to load. I have DAZ&nbsp; 4.11. I have a number of group of people that worked before, but now I have this problem.<em>&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>I have two problems with the light:</p>

<p>1. I can&#39;t obtain renders with choosed light color, RGB (255, 175, 105) in this example. All renders are in white light.</p>

<p>2. I change the distant light orientation and it&#39;s position but the direction and the intensity is always the same in the scene after differents renders.</p>

<p>In the attached example we can see that the distant light is on right side butthe left wall has a lot of intensity</p>

I don&#39;t mean the little arrows that hides some areas (like a drawer), I mean the tick yellow line (for those who have it yellow) that, once click-holded, allows the resizing of the various areas.</p>

<p>I have made my workspace in a unique way, to have the most of the controls and tools on hand but some times, in the rush of the scene creation, I mistakenly click on the border and all my work gets messed up. <img alt="sad" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/sad_smile.png" title="sad" /></p>

<p>Maybe for someone it sounds odd but for me is a pretty bad issue.</p>

<p>I bought above mentioned product and installed it via DAZ Download Manager. The items itself load, but when I try to apply the materials, I receive an error message. The logfile reads: &quot;WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\cloud\dzcloudtasknotifier.cpp(178): Unexpected exception in contentGetByRelativePathAndFilename: Unable to connect to the database&quot;</p>

<p>I can&#39;t get my DAZ Studio connected, the first thing I have to do when starting the application, I have to click away the error message &quot;No valid PostgreSQL connection...&quot; blah, blah. I tried hard to establish said connection, but to no success and even the support wasn&#39;t able to help me solving that problem, so I finally gave up.</p>

<p>Before buying products, I always make sure they aren&#39;t only available via DAZ Connect, but also via Download Manager. This was the case for this item, but now I face this problem anyway.</p>

<p>What can I do to solve that?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I decided to reset my database and reimport my userdata to fix a mistake I&#39;d made catagorising. Bad move. Now my file structure is there but allot of my more recent folders are empty, reimported again, now somethings have two icons and the empty ones are still empty. Having had two &#39;database corruptions&#39; before and the soul destroying re-catagorising nearly everything I&#39;m looking for something more robust going forward.</p>

<p>Is there a way for me to open the database outside DS to see bad entries, remove duplicates and fix them at that level - and if the database is fine, maybe it is the userbase export that isn&#39;t working properly.</p>

<p>the new textures look great but the &ldquo;fire&rdquo; for the guns/lasers either has a missing texture or doesn&rsquo;t look great. The promos do not not&nbsp;show this feature so i am wondering if this is a bug or an omission. &nbsp;The&nbsp;original 3dl texture has gunshots when this option is turned on but the Iray expansion has emissive planes that lack texture. It looks odd.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Please help me understand what is being used to render images. My system isn&#39;t the best, but I just built it for Windows 10 and it&#39;s acting differently from my Windows 7 build.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Windows 7, rendering caused my GPU to max out at 100% until the render was done.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Windows 10, with the same GPU, rendering causes my GPU to do nothing... GPU and CPU usage remains at 0% but it&#39;s rendering.</p>

<p>Well, it is using about 3gb of the GPU ram but that&#39;s it. GPU useage at 0% and CPU useage at 13%</p>

<p>Specs:</p>

<p>GPU - GTX1660ti 6gb</p>

<p>CPU - Ryzen7 2700x</p>

<p>Nvidia driver - 26.21.14.3630</p>

<p>What&#39;s going on here? Can I force more useage from the GPU?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp; I was wondering if anyone was&nbsp; able to figure out more about the new IK chains feature in DS ver 12. I saw a post in a thread about being able to parent the character to a plane and get the&nbsp; character to walk up an incline. What are the steps required to parent a character to a plane using IK chains? Could IK chains work with a BVH applied like a dance animation? Thanks!</p>
