<p>Since I&#39;ll be away from my main system for a few months, I installed Daz 4.12 onto a new laptop.&nbsp; As such, I&#39;m taking my time &amp; selectively installing things &amp; getting &quot;Lost &amp; Found&quot; items Catagorized, etc. It took me a couple install attempts to get the pathing correct but finally Daz and the PostgreSQL CMS installed onto D: &amp; under the same folder.</p>

<p>Once that was working correctly, I got snooping around &amp; notice that there&#39;s also a &quot;C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\PostgreSQL CMS&quot;. &nbsp;</p>

<p>What is that one&#39;s purpose?</p>

<p>If I move or rename it, then the CMS tab in DS shows none &amp; I get the No CMS warning.&nbsp; If I F2 &amp; point to the D: one, it won&#39;t stay set; if I Accept &amp; Apply that path, close the panel then open &amp; check it again, it&#39;s set to None. If I restore the C: one, then it all works again and Daz uses the D: version of the CMS.</p>

<p>I only have DS installed; no other Daz product.&nbsp; Is the C: one sort of a Master or ...?</p>

<p>How do I get the Yule Cottage scene from Howie Farkes from Carrara to DAZ Studio? Everytime I try to navigate in Carrara to find that product so I can make an attempt to see how to get it into DAZ Studio, Carrara locks up &amp; I can&#39;t do anything.</p>

<p>OK, I got it loaded (via open &amp; naviagting with the browser dialogue to the location&nbsp;of the YuleTide .CAR scene)&nbsp;&nbsp;but how is the best way to save&nbsp;it for use in DAZ Studio &amp; the scene be intact?! There is DAZ Collada, FBX, 3DS, OBJ,&nbsp;&nbsp;and other formats.</p>

<p>Ugh! I wouldn&#39;t have bought had I know it was Carrara only.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also, why does Carra lock up whenever I switch to the &#39;Smart Content&#39; tab?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I ^_^ I have been a big fan of 3d studio for years but it&#39;s really getting me down now , I keep it updated and I find that I can&#39;t use it as good as before .... well I got the new 4.12 pro and it should have bundled Genesis 8 ; I was very anxious to see the new product and see what was different ;-) but it won&#39;t show up when I look for it ... and there some more issues on other files that don&#39;t work :-( :-( are you guys all ok ? I seem tohave lost interest in using Daz studio ;-( anyone elese had the same problem ? .... mind you I&#39;m not using it professionally so I&#39;m dedicating too much time , tried with the tutorials but that won&#39;t help ...       <description><![CDATA[<p>I was messing with layout, I thought I would make some minor changes. I got myself into a weird setup where the Right Hand Side (RHS) of the viewport was locked to the RHS of the main window, ie under the docked panes on the right and therefore the widgets were inaccessible. I tried to drag it away but nothing worked.</p>

<p>I was able to get back my normal set of panes (Parameters, Shaping, Posing, Surfaces) in a single floating window but still I could not dock it to the RHS of the main window.</p>

<p>I tried various methods including setting the layout to default settings using Edit--&gt; Preferences--&gt; Interface--&gt; Restore Factory Defaults. This did NOT actually restore to default settings at all.</p>

<p>I reinvoked my normal panes from Window--&gt;Panes.&nbsp; I was still unable to get them to dock to the RHS of the main window, and the RHS of the Viewport is still locked to the RHS of the main window.</p>

<p>I cannot currently use Daz Studio.</p>

<p>So I checked all eye morphs by zeroing them one by one. I also checked the rotating bone and it doesn&#39;t seem different from the right eye one (mirrored it so I can confirm). I don&#39;t know what&#39;s up with the iris section of the left eye mesh. Any idea?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a genesis 8 female figure with a genesis 2 female skin mapped onto it thanks to the useful Legacy UV tool.</p>

<p>I&#39;d like to apply a tattoo from one of the new Inked sets, one which uses the genesis 8 UV maps.</p>

<p>Is there a way to accomplish this? Or, if not, how can i convert a genesis 2 texture in a genesis 8 one?</p>

How I can set Genesis 8F back to zero, ore how to reset to standrat.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am rendering an animation in Daz 4.12.0.86 (Pro Edition - 64 Bit) in Windows 10. I have a Titan X GPU with the latest Nvidia Drivers (436.30).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite having only the GPU selected (and OptiX Prime acceleration deselected) in Render Settings&gt;Advanced, the GPU fails to render every other frame when rendering an image sequence. The CPU takes exponentially longer to render frames (44mins for CPU, 6 mins for GPU - for 200 iterations).</p>

<p>The GPU succesfully renders every odd frame (1st, 3rd, 5th etc.), but the system falls-back to the CPU for every even frame (2nd, 4th, 6th etc.).</p>

<p>The scene is large, GPU shark reports that the GPU is using 9 GB of Ram when rendering, however I have a Titan X GPU with 64 GB of available Ram. The CPU also has 64 GB of available Ram.</p>

<p>Although &#39;OptiX Prime Acceleration&#39; is un-checked in Render Settings&gt;Advanced, the log shows the following errors during both GPU and CPU rendering:</p>

I do, however, know that my dForce dress is being unnaturally pulled by the figure it&#39;s fit to -- because if I drape it without fitting it, the skirt looks natural.&nbsp; Unfortunately, the dress&#39;s top doesn&#39;t do well (at all!) without being fit to the figure. I want the dress to conform through the waist and have NO idea about the figure&#39;s pose below it.&nbsp; Is there an easy way to do this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I started getting the&nbsp;&quot;Duplicate Formulas found in files&quot; error, and it&#39;s killing me because scenes take forever to load, and the killer that the pop-up breaks batch rendering.</p>

<p>Looking in the logs I see the source of the error is this particular Genesis 3 Morph directory.</p>

<p>I think at one point I messed up installing or saving a freebie character morph.&nbsp; It duplicated ALL the Genesis 3 morphs and is over 1 GB in size.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I want to clean this up, but am scratching my head how to do it.&nbsp; If I delete the directory, I see which morphs fail to load.&nbsp; I put the files back, and copied the values from those morphs.&nbsp; I deleted the files again, then dialed the morphs back (except fbmvictoria7hdlv4, I couldn&#39;t figure out which one that was).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I saved it (in the state with offending morph files gone), loaded up on the other computer and still get the same error.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then with the offending files back I tried saving the character uncompressed so I could look at the dsf file in notepad.&nbsp; I don&#39;t see the morph file names in there at all.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>How can I clean this out of my characters so I can nuke the files and then hopefully get rid of the error too?</p>

<p>ETA: Thinking about it, I did leave Daz Studio open when deleting/restoring the offending Morph files.&nbsp; Only opened/closed the character file.&nbsp; That seems like a mistake.</p>

I'm sure it's my ignorance but if it's more complicated than select your figure and double click run script I'm lost.       <description><![CDATA[Just purchased the Sienna figure. When I installed her using the Install Manager she looked like this. I uninstalled deleted the package and reinstalled and got the same results.

I've manually downloaded the file on another computer and compared all the files and nothing is missing.  Also no other figures I bought in that particular order had this issue.

Has anyone else had this problem with a character and how did you fix it?]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>4.12 has removed the function of hardware selection it will run your CPU up to 100% with CPU completely de-selected either its a bug or intended makes no difference that is what 4.12 delivers&nbsp;</p>

<p>so should you want to do more than lock your computer down to just rendering a scene then 4.12 is not for you as it stands!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I am using Daz3d 4.10.0.123 pro (64). In the past, I was able to export any map I wanted with the texture atlas. However, with this new version, I cannot export more than the diffuse, and bump maps. Does anyone know if the Texture Atlas on longer exports all maps? All the options are there but only the diffuse and bump maps are exported, even when I select specular and opacity. I even tried closing the program and going through the process and selecting only the two missing maps but it just won&#39;t export the specular &amp; opacity maps. I tired with Gen 1, Gen 2 Gen 3 and Gen 8 but nothing. Once, with genesis 2, I was able to export the Opacity map.</p>

<p>Am I doing something wrong? Did anyone experience this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>Ps: For genesis 3 &amp; 8 I used this process to get a single map first before tryin to export...</p>

<p>1. set G3/G8 to base resolution</p>

<p>2. export as obj with collapse uv option selected</p>

<p>3. load uv set from the surface pane menu</p>

<p>4. use and apply texture atlas (commit to figure)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have an i9 9900k, 64 Gigs of Ram and an RTX 2080.&nbsp;<br />
My GPU Drivers are up-to-date and I&#39;m using the latest version of Daz, 4.11 (Post Beta).<br />
I have USE CPU turned off and USE GPU on but no matter what the settings, my renders ALWAYS only use my CPU. Which hovers around 18% in the Task Manager.<br />
I don&#39;t know what to do and the forums/every website I&#39;ve seen doesn&#39;t help.<br />
This same thing was happening when I was using GTX 980&#39;s SLI and 32 Gigs of Ram so I&#39;m pretty sure it&#39;s a Daz setting or a Daz thing and not my PC.<br />
<br />
If someone could help me utilize the power of my GPU that would be GREATLY appreciated. I feel like Daz is extremely poorly optimized but maybe I&#39;m just an idiot and have something turned off somewhere.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I purchased a skull on Sketchfab.com (see attached) which I really like.</p>

<p>However, I&#39;m confused as to what the easiest method is to import other models into DAZ Studio.</p>

<p>The skull&nbsp;is in these formats:</p>

<p>Can these formats be imported to DAZ Studio?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I must be lousy at this because I haven&#39;t even been able to import .OBJ files to DAZ Studio... I guess I&#39;m doing something wrong.</p>

<p>Once imported, can I simply save the item as a .DUF file for future use in DAZ Studio?</p>
