Hiya. So I am a infrequent user of 3D and Daz, so it's very possible the answer is obvious, but I run into this now and then. Certain outfits don't fit a Genesis 8 figure right...there is poke through or it just doens't cover the skin (it's under it). The lates problem is the amazing Mech Dancer outfit/armor/costume. Here is a view that shows what I am talking about, where the black body suit doesn't cover her right OR the armor part doesnt work right in cover her bodsuited body. What's the solution? My figure is like a mix of shapes to Genesis 8, but mostly Victoria and I think it's Maebrie (sp).

When I try to aplly it to a new G2F figure, it works just fine, but when I try to add it to an existing animation it looks way off (limbs are in awkward postions, the whole animation reminds of a dancing chair). Any ideas?

I change nothing else except now she has the same exact hair but with a blonde material, and suddenly the render time is 5 times the amount.

Any advice on how to get this under control or is this just the inevitable consequence of lighter colored hair in a physically based renderer?

Hello,

I have been a Poser user for a long time and I am currently trying to figure out Daz Studio so I have lots of questions. One of them is how do I save scene subsets, poses, props etc with a preview icon? This is done automatically when you save a character, pose or prop in Poser but I don't seem to get them when I save in Daz Studio. What am I missing?

Another question is am I saving new characters correctly? I am currently saving them as a scene subset because I want to save them with hair, clothes etc but is this the way do do it or is there another, better way?

Thanks for any replies.

In fact, the extracted files deemed to have appeared seperately, as they did when I downloaded them.

I'm guessing that perhaps the extracted files need to be copied and merged in the correct folder.

Hi,

So, after not having Daz installed for a while due to this and that, I finally got my new system built and stable, and presto--back in the saddle with clean install of all content. Except, so far, for one item. HeadShop OneClick. DIM did most things fine up to that point--need to make sure everything else works to be sure. But on this it says, "Could not find local ReadMe for : HeadShop OneClick (WIN)" and "Download Failed!" Uhm... okay.

I'm running Daz on primary SSD with my user folders (not all of them) and public user folders moved to secondary HDD. I have the link/junction thingy set so that Windows 10 knows where to send my public user files (I did a move for my personal user files). I tried looking at other posts to see if this was already resolved, but I don't see this particular error anywhere. I apologize if I simply missed it somewhere.

I have a bunch of content waiting to install until I get all of the paths set up (Bryce, Carrara, etc.), but this is the only download failure.

Any suggestions?

I've been using Daz for about 3 years now, but I haven't touched much of the settings in fear I would break something. In any case, I enabled GPU in render settings alonside CPU and I can get through some scenes pretty well. One thing I noticed though was while my CPU maxes out at 100%, my gpu only gets to about 6-12%. Is this normal? I tested this out on 3 separate computers so I suspect that's the default. If anything, I want to find a way to limit usage on CPU so I can work on other things while increasing GPU performance. Say for instance I want Daz to max out the CPU at 80% while working the GPU at 50% or more. Is this possible and is it a good idea? I run a Ryzen 2600X and dual GTX 980ti not in SLI, soon to upgrade to a RTX 2060.

This should not be the case. I selected the jacket, double-clicked, selected it for Genesis 2 Female to wear, and then when prompted what figure is this originally designed for, I said Victoria 4, and then selected the outfit type, which is shirt, assuming shirt means any garment covering the upper body. The sleeves are not fitted properly, while everything else is. I am wondering if I missed anything?

I'm using Daz Studio 4.9 Pro and I've been trying to learn about shaders but I keep running into the problem that the files people refer to don't seem to be anywhere in my content folder. I've seen instructions to go into "Content Library > Shader Presets > DAZ Uber" but within the "Shader Presets" folder I don't have a folder called "Daz Uber". I have one called "Uber" but it doesn't have the same content that I seem to need. In particular the file "!Iray Uber Base" seems important, but I can't find it anywhere (including with search functions). Am I just being thick? Could it be somewhere else, or not installed at all? Is there a place I can download the Uber shaders or something? Thanks very much.

I know that changing the emissive color to pure black will stop it from emitting any light, but is it possible to REMOVE the emissive shader from a surface entirely?

I have a bought interior scene that has the emissive shader applied to all of the light fixture objects, but I wanted more control of the lighting so changed all the emissive shaders to black color and put in my own lights inside the fixtures.

HOWEVER, now the light fixtures objects also appear pure black.

Is is possible to make the light fixture objects appear white or some other color, WITHOUT having them emit emissive light?

So I was wondering about 2 possibilities: 1) remove emissive shader entirely from the light fixture objects; or 2) put another non-emissive shader OVER the emissive shader?

Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

I have recently purchased the Werwulf characters from RawArt and discovered that they come as full body morphs. Is there a way to split them into head and body morphs? I would like to tone down the body a bit but keep the head at 100%.

Thanks for any repiles.

I've got virtually every hair shader set available here and elsewhere. Two of the things I've wanted to do are these:

1. Multicolored horizontal bands. Sort of like brown to a darker brown, to purple, then to black. So far, only from brown to violet or black--just two colors. (I know it's possible veritically but horizontally eludes me.)

2. Two colored racoon tail style horizontal stripes, restricted to specific areas of hair--sort of orangy brown to black, then back to orangy brown, etc.

Are either of these possible with tiling, etc.? If so, can some please give me direction on how to do it?

Thanks so much in advance!

Scott

PS. I'm attaching an example of blonde to black horizontally.

It worked just fine until 4.12 but from that update my geografts don't work. They take on materials from base g8m or g8f character and then I added a shell over it. Now the shel works fine but if I zoom out (~2-3m from genesis) the geograft itself doesn't render, there is just a hole where the geograft should be. Zoom in and it renders. BTW its not a ground in the way issue, you can zoom out laterally and it still doesn't render in 4.12.

Does anybody know how to fix it or should I tell my customers to avoid Daz Studio 4.12?
