      <description><![CDATA[<p>I would like this jar to turn so that it is cornered on the stand.&nbsp; The jar loads into DS standing up so when I lay it on its side the y rotation and the z rotation cause it to only spin on its axis. X causes it to stand back up.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just purchased the Daz Face Transfer Unlimited:&nbsp; <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-unlimited" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-unlimited</a></p>

<p>I discovered it is not an installable download, but instead, a plugin that was part of the original Daz installation, which for me is v. 4.12. &nbsp; I followed the downloadable user guide, opened Daz, went to &lt;Help&gt; then to &lt;About Installed plugins...&gt;, then, found the &quot;dzfacetransfer&quot; pulgin. &nbsp; However, the &quot;plug&quot; next to it was red and there was a note in the information box &quot;<span><strong>Plugin failed to load!</strong></span>&quot; in bold red.&nbsp;&nbsp; The filename reads <em>&quot;C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/dzfacetransfer.dll&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </em>I went to that file location and did find the referenced .dll file there.</p>

<p>It also says</p>

<p><strong>Reason: Library could not be loaded.&nbsp; File is not a valid DAZ studio plug-in, or was made for a different version of DAZ Studio.</strong></p>

<p>I then found an older tech forum post wherein it indicated that the Gen 8 Starter Essentials need to be reloaded, so I did for both male and female.&nbsp;&nbsp; But it didn&#39;t change anything.</p>

<p>Does the plug-in work for 4.12?&nbsp; Does anyone know what is going on with this product?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>There is a smale +/- icon next to the DrawStyle dropdown.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If I accidently click it, which is not too difficult to do, then the Viewport turns almost pure white and I cannot undo it.</p>

<p>Does anyone know what this thing does, or why it&#39;s even there?</p>

<p>I have a book on DAZ Studio, and tried to find out more about it to no avail. There doesn&#39;t seem to be any documentation on this icon.</p>

<p>It doesn&#39;t even have a Tool Tip, except if you right click on it &quot;Poster Set&quot; displays in a yellow box.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m so fed up right now I can&#39;t even think straight.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Don&#39;t know if that&#39;s the best discussion title, but here&#39;s the story. I have created a sword and matching scabbard. At this point each one is a simple prop, not a figure. Each prop has a morph for adjusting the length, and they were designed to match up in the original modeling. While it&#39;s certainly possible to simply apply the length morph to each prop separately, I am wondering whether or not there&#39;s a way to link them.</p>

<p>For example, adjusting the sword&#39;s length would automatically adjust the scabbard&#39;s length by the same amount. Is this possible? How would I go about it?</p>

Something in the right nostril doesn&#39;t get properly texturized and remains grey.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I presently have a Nvidia GeForce730 and am thinking of getting a new card GTX 1660ish. For best Iray performance, which matters, GDDR 6 or 5, SC, TI, Ultra?? Are the 2 fans models quieter than the 1 fan models? I&#39;m thinking of going with the EVGA brand, like the EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti XC SC Ultra Gaming card, but if it&#39;s just as well going with a lesser 1660 card then cheaper would be better. I don&#39;t do gaming. Quiet is important but not a deal breaker if the noise isn&#39;t too bad. I should add, my MB is older with pci 2.0 slots.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>What, technically, is the difference between the various filters?</p>

<p>Due to having a composition which is hitting record length rendering times I&#39;ve been doing experiments with various settings - plus I&#39;ve bought a very unhelpful tutorial and had a look at free ones on YT - but nothing I&#39;ve tried makes any difference. Doing &#39;short&#39; spot-renders of the entire scene for speed I&#39;ve tried each of the filters and while I can see&nbsp;no difference between&nbsp;the finished renders, Triangle renders a few seconds faster than the rest - the rest doing the same amount of iterations in the same amount of time. So, what actually is the technical difference between the filters?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been trying SOOOOO hard to import some clothing with models from Daz to Zbrush and for some reason it only comes up in Zbrush with only the model or only the clothing. I&#39;m thinking its a polygon thing, but I&#39;ve closed the program and reopened it and some items will show up but others won&#39;t. Example... I load a figure. Put a suit on the figure. Put hair on the figure. Select the figure and the clothing. Export to zbrush. Zbrush opens. Drag out figure. Either figure shows up or clothing shows up with no figure. Am I missing something? Some clothing packages show up and others don&#39;t. Is it the way the package has been formatted by the creator or is it a glitch? ..... it&#39;s soo frustrating!!&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>No matter what I do, my rendered view and any renders I attempt, are both defaulting to the CPU. A look at my GPU memory usage shows all the memory of my GPU used up. Even if I delete every item from the scene. It&#39;s fairly obvious that my GPU memory is failing to clear. A few notes:</p>

<p>1. My GPU (Nvidia 1060 6GB) is the only thing checked in the Advanced tab under my render settings for both Photoreal Devices, and Interactive Devices.<br />
2. Restarting Daz will let me use the GPU for about a minute or two with rendered view (sometimes), but after moving the view or changing a hair texture or whatever, I&#39;m quickly back to the CPU.<br />
3. I have the latest Nvidia driver for my card, released two days ago. However, this issue was also present with the last driver.<br />
4. Under Graphics Settings for Windows 10, I have Daz Studio set to &quot;High Performance&quot;</p>

<p>Can anyone help with this? It&#39;s getting impossible to work.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hi, I have made some great renders using Super Hero Suit for Genesis 2 Female(s) and Victoria 6, on a few characters i created. Except I am having an issue with squiggly lines on the neck.i had the same issue in hands when not using gloves but I fixed that by turning off visibility every single instance after hand leve on both hands in scene tab. I cant get rid of the neck lines though. I tried turning off Head and Lower Jaw. If I turn off neck I lose the collar. Anyone else had this issue? ]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was looking for tutorials of how to put in a background image, the one I found seemed kind of complicated, creating a plane in he exact same frame ratio as the image and then basically pasting the image onto it.&nbsp; Then after that you still have to position it in 3D space which is can cause problems trying to align it perfectly so it&#39;s flat.&nbsp; Is there an easier way to insert an image, and is there a way to have it be billboard or facing towards the camera at all times?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello. I would very much appreciate anyone&#39;s help with this as I currently have no Daz Studio to use.</p>

<p>What happened is this:</p>

<p>I was trying to do a reinstall of Daz in attempt to fix the pink iray renders problem discussed elsewhere on here. I downloaded the latest version that showed up as available DazStudio_4.12.0.86_Win64</p>

<p>Tried to install as normal. It has uninstalled my previous version but when it gets to installing the new one I get the following error message:</p>

<p>Error running C:/Users/MyName/Documents/Daz 3D/Studio/My Library/Uninstallers/Remove-DS4 Default Content.exe --mode unattended :Program ended with an error exit code&nbsp; &nbsp; The application will exit now.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Because this was a newer version I wondered if a previous one would work so I attempted to install one I had on a back-up drive that had previously worked fine but now I just get&nbsp;the same error.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is it possible to scale models smaller than default and be able to zoom in on them without them&nbsp;losing limbs and their bodies?</p>

<p>For instance, if I wanted to scale an object, say a table or a chair, from 100% to 2%. Is there a way to make sure when you zoom in to see the final details of the figure/prop/environment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Or do I have to scale things massively bigger first then have normal-sized objects/figures, from 100% to 1000%? I&#39;ve tried this and it takes so much time just to move the perspective camera.</p>

<p>what does it mean, iraywise, if my scene&#39;s &#39;light sources have no contribution&#39;?</p>

<p>i&#39;m using the daz default lighting HDRI to light the scene.&nbsp; just to make sure that there weren&#39;t any path issues, et cetera, i copied the hdri from its default location to my library&#39;s Lighting Presets folder, and set it as my scene hdri.</p>

<p>i&#39;m not sure what the issue is.&nbsp; i&#39;ve rendered this scene several times before with no problems.&nbsp; but today, every time i either switch preview mode to iray or start rendering, the current beta crashes with no warning or error message.&nbsp; the log immediately before the crash looks like this every time:</p>

<p>i&#39;m going to rebuild the scene from scratch and reduce the texture memory demands and see how another hdri image works.&nbsp; but i would really like to know what &#39;light sources have no contribution&#39; means, and how i can best address the problem.&nbsp; i&#39;m guessing that it&#39;s a memory issue.&nbsp; but that&#39;s just a guess.&nbsp;</p>

<p>can anyone wiser explain what&#39;s going on here?</p>

<p>i have seen some other rendering anomalies with this current beta.&nbsp; especially in iray preview mode.&nbsp; smooth textures breaking out in trippy patterns.&nbsp; usually with the translucency color going berserk and laying tribal tattoo patterns down on my characters.&nbsp; a quit and restart usually takes care of that problem.&nbsp; but another issue:&nbsp; sometimes the beta will not relaunch after a quit unless the computer is restarted.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My character has two Strand Based Hair assets applied. One for head and shoulders and one basically covers the full body. The SBHs are parented but not fit to. Even though the SBHs were painted on the finished fully morphed character, fitting them afterward, reapplies all the morphs again and i end up with a mess. If I &quot;Fit to&quot; and manually remove all the doubled morphs, it looks ok but somehow locks all translation, rotate, and scale controls, and I still end up with the same issue as leaving &quot;Fit to&quot; set to none. I&#39;m just putting this in to show that I have already tried this as a fix.</p>

<p>Now my actual problem.</p>

<p>The SBH follows the pose of the character fine. Rotating the character also seems to be working as well. My issue is with XYZ Translate and Scale. What ever is applied to the character dealing with translate or scale, A double value is applied to the SBH.</p>

<p>As seen in Fig 01, Jackalman is set to 0,0,0, with the two SBHs parented to him. He was too big so I set his scale to 96%, (after the SBHs were created). The first SBH, head and shoulders, has the &quot;Preview PR Hairs&quot; turned off to show the SBH is following the characters head and shoulders. The second SBH, full body, has the &quot;Preview PR Hairs&quot; turned on. Everything renders in place.</p>

<p>In Fig 02, I moved Jackalman along Z axis by +50 and posed the head, right shoulder, upper arm and forearm. The SBHs are still parented and set to default zero. In the viewport, the head SBH is showing the yellow lines are still attached to the head and following the pose. The Body SBH is showing the PR Hairs are at +100 on the Z axis but still follows the pose. The render shows both SBHs are following the pose but are sitting at +100 on the Z axis.</p>

<p>In Fig 03, Jackalman is still at Z50. With both SBHs moved to Z-50 to line up with the character. The yellow lines are still on the head even though it should be sitting behind the character. The full body SBH is selected and the selection box is sitting behind the character, but the fur is lining up nicely. Also with the SBH selected it shows that I had to set the scale to 104% to compensate for scaling down the character.</p>

<p>I have already tried.... Fit to, Un-parenting, Re-parenting, Apply Transformations, Convert Prop to Figure, Locking selected, and a bunch of other stuff that I can&#39;t remember.</p>

<p>I didn&#39;t do anything out of the ordinary when created the SBHs. The only real difference is I&#39;m planning to use this character and another character, that has two SBHs with the same issues as well, in a short story with comic book layout. So, for multiple appearances on a single page, I saved the SBHs as wearables to be reused. Where as, normally, I create &quot;one off&quot; SBHs on an already posed and positioned character because I can usually paint and style the dforce effects without having to use dforce. That&#39;s the only thing I can think of that I did differently. Any help would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It has crashed Studio with virtually every simulation I threw at it.&nbsp; about the only thing that works is a basic, single frame sim that doesn&#39;t use any of the item&#39;s morphs.&nbsp; Anything else and BOOM! Crash with error, crash to the desktop without error.</p>

<p>Thing looks great, but man it will NOT sim.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>As my runtime grows larger, it is quickly reaching the maximum capacity of the drive it&#39;s stored on.&nbsp; Is it better to move all files to a single larger drive or just to get a second drive and store new files there, having two runtime directories?</p>

<p>My thinking is that a larger drive will take longer to search, but also multiple runtimes may cause issues and conflicts?</p>

<p>Any help or advice greatly appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Guys, any ideas please ?</p>

<p>When I&#39;m trying to run &#39;dForce&#39; on anything right now I&#39;m instantly getting this message &#39;could not find an open cl device&#39; and dForce doesn&#39;t work.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The strange thing is, I&#39;ve been using dForce with no problems at all until now. Only thing I can think of that&#39;s changed in anyway is that I just updated my GPU drivers, apart from that no other settings have been altered from anything that I normally do.</p>
