      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I&#39;m wondering if it&#39;s possible to change the default parameters for all created cameras. For some reason, the Focal Length of cameras has a Max value of 5200 when the normal operating range is usually within 28-200m. This makes using the sliding scale impossible and one has to put in the length manually. I&#39;ve started setting the Max value to 200 from 5200. Is it possible to save this change for all future scenes?</p>

<p>I exported Genesis 2 model as FBX, then imported it to UE 4.22 but I can&#39;t understand how to match bones&nbsp;rotations values between Daz Studio and Unreal...</p>

<p>Here&#39;s how to reproduce a problem:</p>

<p>1) I looked at model definition file ( Genesis2Female.dsf ) and saw that <strong>rotation_order </strong>for <strong>lThigh </strong>is <strong>YZX</strong>.</p>

<p>I typed&nbsp;these rotation values in Daz Studio: X&nbsp;-90, Y 75, Z 45&nbsp; and model looks good -&nbsp; like on screenshot.</p>

<p>Then I typed the same values in Unreal Bone Editor (in <strong>YZX </strong>order - first I typed Y value, then Z, then X) and model looks incorrectly (see screenshot).</p>

<p>What is&nbsp;causing this problem and how to fix it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Gut check on my understanding...</strong></p>

<p>During an Iray render, a &quot;scene&quot; is sent to the graphics card for processing by the GPU.&nbsp; The scene consists of geometries, textures etc.&nbsp; I will be replacing a 10 year old mother board in the near future.&nbsp; I currently use 2 Evga 1080TI&#39;s for rendering.&nbsp; Initially, I assumed that all LGA 1151 boards operate in a x16/x8&nbsp;or x8/x8&nbsp;configuration when two cards are installed.&nbsp; However, I did find exactly one LGA 1151 board that operates in a x16/x16&nbsp;configuration with two cards.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>So nuts n bolts question, </strong>outside of scene transfer time, is anyone able to speak for the impact of available PCIe lanes on render time?&nbsp; My assumption is that the difference isn&#39;t big since the bulk of the data is transfered when the scene is sent to the card, but that&#39;s just my gut and realize there may be more to this than meets the eye.</p>

Would be even better if I could move the animation timeline of one project to another.       <description><![CDATA[<p>After more than a year&nbsp;of playing with DS, this is a new one on me. Today, just for the heck of it, I loaded&nbsp;one of the tutorial&nbsp;scenes (Ready to Render - Fiery Genesis 2). Since then, my Texture Shaded viewport has been 17 shades darker than it used to be. Can&#39;t see a doggone thing.</p>

<p>The Iray viewport works as usual (see the Aux Viewport in the attached screenshot), but I do nearly all my scene creation &amp; fiddling in Texture Shaded mode and would really like to have it back to normal.</p>

<p>Any help would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>[ edit/solution: It finally occurred to me to load another prefabbed scene (I chose the beach thing) in the hope it would restore the viewport, and waddya know? It worked. ]</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to save an object as a figure/object asset, but DAZ keeps crashing on me. I&#39;ve never had this problem before. This is a blender object, but the barbles I did in blender worked ok. I am, however, not wholly certain whether I did not rig them in DAZ 4.11. Now, when I want to resave them after modifying DAZ keeps crashing on me.</p>

<p>What could be the problem here?</p>

<p>I have a new computer with the latest graphic card and a tiger under the hood, so it cannot be a problem of the hardware.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>With Daz Studio, I like putting together big scenes, usually with 2-4 clothed G8s, and I really enjoy experimenting with lighting. But for the most part, I have to &quot;cut&quot; these scenes for render, meaning I render 1/2 the figures in scene, then the other 1/2, then I piece them together in PS. My computer can&#39;t handle it otherwise.</p>

<p>For adjusting lights, this is difficult as I currently rely on the Iray preview in the viewport. I usually split my scene into two files, one for each 1/2, then switch back and forth, lighting them how I like, and as consistently as possible.</p>

<p>So I&#39;m wondering, is there a better way? My machine specs are pretty reasonable, and I don&#39;t plan on changing them anytime soon. I&#39;m mostly curious if there are features or strategies with Daz Studio that I&#39;m not taking advantage of. Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I know I&#39;ve been out of the loop for awhile, but it seems skydomes don&#39;t work quite like I remember.</p>

<p>I render with Iray, and it seems when I use a skydome it blacks out my scene.&nbsp; If I leave off the dome then I can&#39;t seem to get an image to cover the background correctly.</p>

<p>And of course the lighting fiddling around due to not having the sky dome. I&#39;ve been faking it halfway decent so far, but I don&#39;t like doing that. It&#39;s tedious and indicates to me I&quot;m not properly using DS to it&#39;s full potential.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So if anyone has any suggestions, instructions, or a location of current information, I am definitely up for learning a better way.</p>

<p>I have finally saved up enough for a shiny new pc! Thinking it would be helpful all those years ago, I have all my daz&nbsp;content on a dedicated internal&nbsp;hard drive separate from the Daz software, os and other software&nbsp;on a different drive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>My old system is Windows 8.1 and the new one&nbsp;is Windows 10.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have&nbsp;come to the conclusion that&nbsp;I am not entirely sure of the process and&nbsp;am hoping I can install the original hard drive in the new pc without too much headache/ swearing/ panic/ crying!</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Would the method be something like....&nbsp;</p>

<p>1) Export user data from old pc to... (hard drive or memory stick???)</p>

<p>2)&nbsp;Install the hard drive directly into the new pc (get the new pc to recognise the hard drive???)</p>

<p>3) Create library paths in new Daz Studio for the old hard drive content</p>

<p>4)&nbsp;Import user data&nbsp;to new pc from... (hard drive or memory stick???)</p>

<p>OR</p>

<p>Does it require transferring the data&nbsp;in some special/ magic&nbsp;way&nbsp;that&nbsp;windows 10 will understand?</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also, I don&#39;t think this affects it at all but I am&nbsp;changing&nbsp;from Intel to AMD, will this have a bearing on the content?</p>

<p>Hope this not asking too much and I have researched this but could not find a satisfactory answer!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is a new one for me, as I have 32gb of RAM. I been working on a scene, in the past week using the newest 4.12 I have had it happen at least 10 times. I will get a windows popup saying that I am almost out of RAM, and I must quit programs. Before I can do anything, daz simply crashes. It&#39;s not even a scene as big as I have done before with no issues. It fits in my 2080 super and 1070 VRAM just fine, but somehow manages to eat up almost all 32gb RAM on my system. Sometimes even just opening the scene was doing it. Using scene optimizer on it made it a lot more stable, but still DS is using like 20bg RAM.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Has anyone else experienced twisted muscles in the legs of G8F?&nbsp; I haven&#39;t organized my instances in a directory, but I run into this from time to time with G8F.&nbsp; I applied a pose I bought from the Daz3D site, and the right leg thigh area is way out of shpe instead of being symmetrical.&nbsp; Sometimes applying a zero pose will fix it, but other times, it always twists when applying poses.&nbsp; I have deleted the character form the scene at times and rebuilt it, but eventually a leg&nbsp;start twisting again.&nbsp; Is there a solution?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp; It&#39;s difficult for me to find hair that will render in 3delight. The entire render stops as soon as it reaches the hair. Today I downloaded a hair model that claimed to have&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&quot;<strong>Daz Studio 3Delight Material Presets (.DUF&quot;)&nbsp;</strong><span>&nbsp;and matching materials for Iray and 3Delight. But&nbsp;</span>I still experienced the the same issues.&nbsp;Not only did the render stop at the hair<strong>&nbsp;</strong>but the entire computer froze, couldn&#39;t even use the mouse nor cntrl alt delete nor escape. Had to do a hard shutdown and a bunch of unsaved work went into the garbage. Yes I chose RSL in materials and yes I chose 3DL&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;for the engine.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>My current Desktop has dual GTX 970s and an 850 watt power suppy. Recently these cards have begun to show their age.</p>

<p>I was thinking about switching to a single RTX 2070 Super, since that should be double the capability of the single 970.</p>

<p>The other option is the RTX 2080 Ti, only because investing in this would be a little bit more than what the cost of dual RTX 2070 Supers would be.</p>

<p>Anyone have any suggestions or experience?</p>

<p>Now my question is, since all the items have the same material name (latexmask), is there a way to change the material.duf so it can apply the color to all the &quot;latexmask&quot; materials of the parent and childs without the need of writing&nbsp;all the nodes hierarchy?<br />
This will help me adding more items to the same parent without changing the material code.</p>

Can you achieve a similar function like the History in Photoshop, where u know where to click to undo to a specific point, I know ctrl+z might do but something like very subtle changes or something hidden away may be hard to notice.</p>

<p>Or how to undo / reset breast morphs except ctrl+z, like an action history panel like Photoshop</p>

<p>Also, where does bought morphs usually reside? so far from my fiddling I found are in &ldquo;Parameters&rdquo; and some are in &ldquo;Shaping&rdquo;<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having trouble with my custom character when I give her hair, the hair sticks to her elven ears.</p>

<p>Before when I was dialling her in, I could un-dial the ears away in the relevent hair sliders, now that she has a sinlge slider, I&#39;m at a loss.</p>

<p>Can anyone suggest a solution?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I am stumped. I am trying to put content from Renderocity (Gravure Boxing Gloves) to use with my&nbsp; DAZ Genesis 1 and 2 model. I have looked at Youtube. (Windows 10 64 bit)</p>

<p>1. I downloaded and unzipped the files in the download area.</p>

<p>2. I went to Public - Public Documents - MyDAZLibrary and dragged the unzipped (extracted) folders from Public Downloads into it.</p>

<p>3. I individually dropped people, data, runtime into MyDAZLibrary (dragged them to&nbsp;the margins, not the individuals folders directly) and confirmed that the content appeared in the existing people, data, and runtime folders and each opened and showed the data.</p>

<p>4. But, i cant find the gloves in my DAZ program either in smart content, content library, or anywhere else. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY HELPFUL TIPS?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I twist left forearm to extreme value (-180) and continue holding mouse button I can see &quot;candy wrapper&quot; artifact (daz_slider_1.png). But as soon as I release a mouse button - mesh corrects itself and looks much nicer (daz_slider_2.png).&nbsp; I ported G2F to Unreal and it looks pretty much the same as in first screenshot (with problems).&nbsp; I thought that some JCM are applied, but JCM are used only in G3/G8 models.&nbsp; Is there a way to make G2 models look in Unreal the same as in Daz? How Daz auto corrects mesh problems?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>In the case of a long haircut, especially of the dforce kind, if you lay a G8F on her back and choose to have her drop to the floor with CTRL-D, what will be considered as the contact point on the character might not be her body but her hair. Is there a way to exclude the hair from the equation so that her back, butt and legs touch the floor ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,<br />
I&#39;m on a Mac, OS is&nbsp;Catalina (10.15.1). I got Studio 4.12.0.86 Pro.&nbsp;<br />
Studio has access to my Documents file and for testing purposes related to this issue&nbsp;I have granted it Full Disk access.</p>

<p>My issue: Whenever I try to select an image &ndash; be it for the environment map in render settings or the base color of a prim &ndash; from disk (arrow down, browse), I&#39;m not able to select the images corresponding to the &#39;Files of Type&#39; selection drop down menu.</p>

<p>As an exmaple: The first option in the Files type drop down menu is a whole slew of image types, ranging from *.dsi to *.ptx. But, any image that sattisfies any of these file types is not selectable. I just can not choose it to open it in Studio. All images types &ndash; whether or not in the list of allowed file types &ndash; are greyed out.</p>

<p>Only when I select *.png explicitly as file type, I can select a png file. If I select *.jpg, *.jpeg I can omnly select files with jpeg as extension. I have to rename image.jpg to image.jpeg to be selectable.<br />
These png&#39;s and jpeg&#39;s I can select using the above can not be selected if I set the File Type selector back to option 1 (the whole range of images files) eventhough both *.png and *.jpeg are in that list...</p>

<p>It&#39;s really annoying. I can not change the hdr/exr files for environment maps, amongst other things.<br />
Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong??</p>

<br />
I have been away from DAZ Studio due to being discouraged by settings in my program that I just can&#39;t seem to reset. This means certain sliders are continuing to activate even when I don&#39;t want them to. The hidden properties, eJCM or something, if I recall. They keep activating with my Genesis 8 Female base figures. These are the hidden &quot;corrective&quot; sliders for models such as Aiko 8, etc.<br />
<br />
I have tried uninstalling, removing all files, using a new library, and even clearing the system registry. But it always installs the studio with the same settings for the G8F figure. I even tried making a new account and installing the program with this new account.<br />

Any advice?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, i wanted to make photos of an object but at some camera angles it was not visibles and the renders got empty, now I checked the live iray system and saw how it disappeared at some angles.</p>

<p>I did record it:</p>

<p>(here was a video showing the problem, did remove it, cuz no longer needed).</p>

<p>Is it a bug with the model or is it a general thing ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;d estimate at this point that my RTX 2080 can render a scene 50 times as fast as my i7 2600k, meaning, if iray, for whatever reason, bounces a scene from the gpu to the cpu, I would honestly prefer it to not even attempt to render at&nbsp;all and instead aborts the render and&nbsp;I try to adjust the scene.<br />
<br />
I just had to hard reset my computer because iRay didn&#39;t want to quit after it bounced to cpu and practically locked up my computer,&nbsp;<br />
<br />
in other words, cpu rendering has no place in my workflow and in cases such as the aforementioned, actually works against me...<br />
<br />
Is there anyway to convince iray to never even attempt CPU renders?<br />
