Hi all. I'm trying to use Parrish's IBL Master with 3DL. I've updated to Daz 4.12, but my lights don't seem to have all the options that they should. There should be intensity, intensity multiplier, color, etc., as shown in this screencap from IBL Master documentation.

When I load the IBL Master product in my DS and select the same light, IBLMLight, I only have the following parameters: color and intensity. See attachment.

Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Title says it all. I created a render with two wolves, and built their fur using the LAMF tool. I set the max fur count on the body to 400,000, which I assumed my GPU could handle. I'm running an RTX 2060 Super, with 16 GB of DDR4 2400 Mhz RAM, and an Intel i5 7600K CPU.

Once I'd got my render set up, I switched my main viewport to wireframe bounding box, to save VRAM, and switched my little auxilary viewport to Nvidia Iray, to see how my render was going to turn out.

I looked away from the screen for a few minutes, then heard the hardware disconnect sound, and looked back to see my screen turn white, Daz Studio had crashed, and my computer had switched to the default Windows 10 video drivers. I had to restart my computer to fix the issue, as the screen was essentially frozen, I couldn't do anything except restart it.

Now when I try to load my scene, Daz starts to load it, then instantly crashes. Is there a way I can save my scene, or is all my work destroyed?

I was trying to simulate a character sitting down, but dForce was exploding. I can't say that I blame dForce, as I had the character's buttocks and the back of her thighs sinking pretty far into the seat cushion. It took much longer than it should have for me to think of a solution, but I found something that works.

I exported the seat cushion to Blender, used a boolean modifier to cut out the intersection of the seat cushion and the character's buttocks and thighs, and imported it back to Daz. It was enough to allow dForce to cope and complete the sim.

This can probably serve as a general technique for dealing with intersections that dForce can't negotiate.

If someone has any ideas of pipeline and time (knowing there are so many variables) to essentially bring the character to a state where it is ready for animation.
Once the character is completed, it will be used to create various long and short animations including speaking or teaching about certain processes. This has to be believable real, I'm looking to reach Alita quality animation and rendering.
If anyone has done this before, steer me in the rightdirection or interested in working with me to make this a reality, then message me.

I recently started getting the duplicate formula error so I uninstalled the last charcter which fixed the error but now G8F loads as that character each time as well as all other characters that rely upon G8F.

Ive read through many threads on how to fix this and cant get it to work.

if I install the offending character G8F functions correctly but I get the duplicate formula error. If I uninstall the offending character G8F loads with the offending charachters morphs.

Ive tried loading G8F into a scene, removing the morphs (from the uninstalled character), saving as a support asset/modified asset but this dosnt help.

Ive uninstalled both the character and G8 essentials and no luck.

Ive seen the duplicates in the log file but I dont know what I should be deleting. I did try deleting some files but they return each time a load a character.

Any ideas please?

I've tried using the latest nvidia studio driver (441.28) and the latest nvidia game ready driver (441.41), neither makes a difference.

However, since the available memory is ~2.5GB higher than the memory it's attempting to allocate, I don't understand why the error is occuring.

Daz falls back to CPU rendering after the memory exception, but that's not a viable solution to render this scene.

Everything I do in DazStudio takes a painfully long time. Loading a single Genesis 8 Female figure can take 10 minutes. Poses can take as much as 2 minutes to apply. Dragging a handle on a morph can take 10 seconds to respond. In every case the program locks up, Windows sometimes even applies the "Not Responding" tag to it because it's not responding to system calls. Even something as simple as selecting an item from the Scene tab can lock it up for 15 seconds. Animations move in geologic time.

One particular scene with five Genesis 8 Female figures, their clothes, hair and nothing else takes so long to load that I once went to the groceries, came home, cooked dinner from raw ingredients, ate it and it wasn't done loading when I got back to the computer (about 45-50 minutes in total). I am not making this up. I routinely watch entire 22 minute episodes of sitcoms while waiting for relatively simple scenes to load.

This is on a system that has no trouble playing any game I throw at it. Ryzen 7 1700+ OC'd 3.6GHz, 32GB 2667MHz DDR4, two GeForce 1070, main drive is a pair of 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SATA in RAID-0, runtimes are on three Western Digital 2TB in RAID-0.

I keep my runtimes onthe set of spinning rust drives, but moving the Genesis 8 Female morphs folder to an SSD and using a symlink to reconnect it had no effect.

I've checked the logs for the usual suspects that increase load time and fixed those problems.

How do I work this thing?

When I've got the left docking area hidden, the right one needlessly occupies about 48% of the workspace, and the divider simply won't move any more to the right.

And when I bring out the left docking area, the right docking area does shrink a bit, but then it shoves the right end of my slider controls off screen so I can't type in values.

So, I've seen this issue pop up several times now. And I can't seem to get it fixed. The character is not moved from the standard spawn spot, the hair was tested with and without smoothing on. I've also tested other hairs, but they also seem to have the same issue (not all, but mostly OOT hairs). I've gotten this issue with many saved characters and I'm starting to get a bit hopeless, I tried every possible solution I've found on other forum posts. But none of them seem to work.

It seems to change based on camera angles and lights and HDRi's I use. But it's severly limiting my options. In the included picture the lines aren't that bad, but sometimes they cover a very large part of the forehead and pieces of the hairline itself.

The model is a Genesis 8 female, with several character morphs. Using a Skinbuilder 8 skin. The issue got worse in 4.12.

I am asking this because I managed to get DAZ Studio working again after doing a fresh reset of my PC, and at this point I cannot get pwToon working.

And by the way, I changed the directories for my library so that it would be retrieved from an external drive. I didn't change every path to the E drive, though.

Hi guys, I need your help:

I have been searching for a fix on the forum and the internet but have not found one that helped yet, or it sounds too complex and I do not understand (for instance, lots of light settings I do not think I tampered with.)
The problem:
During editing (scrsht)I find my view pixelated, also my aux view (in the scrnsht it's somehow not pixelated) and eventually the render and result is also pixelated (test).
- The content I am working with is whitespring 2,3,4 and 5 from Danie&Maforno.
- I tried to adjust manipulation resolution in the pane draw settings from 1/4 to normal.
- I adjusted the render settings to UHD pixels.
- I put less items in the scene
It still takes about 2 hours to render and I end up with a pixelated image...(Test image)
I decided to try the same thing on a different borrowed laptop, still took 2 hours to render (I checked the log) and the image was a bit better, but not sharp or as I expected (test lenovo1)

I checked the system requirements on daz3d: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003568443-What-are-the-system-requirements-to-run-Daz-Studio-?mobile_site=true
I am running on this old laptop:
Product Name: 13-m210dx
Microprocessor: 1.5GHz 4th generation Intel Core i3-4020Y Processor
Microprocessor: Cache 3MB, L3 Cache
Memory: 4GB DDR3L SDRAM (1 DIMM)
Video Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4200 with up to 1792MB total graphics memory
Display: 13.3-inch diagonal HD LED- backlit IPS touchscreen display (1366 x 768)
Hard Drive: 128GB solid-state drive
- Aside from the video card should be fine, or am I missing or misreading information?

Borrowed laptop with these specs:
CPU: Intel Core i3-7100U dual-core 2.4GHz 3MB cache
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 1040
Display: 15.6”, Full HD (1920 x 1080), IPS
Storage: 1000GB HDD
RAM: 8GB DDR4
I should expect the image to be a whole lot better on the borrowed laptop, but it does not.

What do you guys think is the problem here?
1) Hardware
2) Software setting
3) Both
4) I already deinstalled and reinstalled the whitespring (had some issues with installing at first), maybe something else?

There seem to be to many variables to change from my point of view.
I would love to receive some guidance or tips from more experienced users/tech experts.

Best,

Michael

I have read through the forums and threads in regard to this issue and none seem to help resolve my situation. I am hoping to get help with this issue here. Also I am no expert on DAZ and still learning so please be patient if my questions seem simple.

I have updated the latest Nivida drivers according to the Nivida Experience app my driver is 441.41

I have a Nivida 1050 TI on my laptop, and in the Nivida Control Panel, I have set Daz studio to use my GPU only.

In my render settings I have the check boxes ticked for my GPU only (I have also ticked on and off the Optix Prime Acceleration which made no difference)

When I render anything other than a primitive object with no texture Nivida renders it really fast but I try anything else to render such as a simple figure alone in the scene this is what is my Render message box which appears to be using my CPU not my GPU and renders take fooooooorevvvvvvver

Rendering in NVIDIA Iray
Iray :Render target canvas was written.

Can some kind person please help me troubleshoot the issue, again i have tried everything else I have found on this forum that relates to the problem and still has the same problem. I did use Daz 4.10 before I upgraded to this version and had no problem.

If I can not resolve this issue is it possible to revert back to 4.10?

Thank You in advance

Im not sure if this is a dumb question, but does DAZ/Iray need a powerful CPU to render with 12 GPUs? Currently I have 12 1080 ti's and my CPU is a i5-6400. When I go to try and render , I get an error in the logs saying not enough CPU threads so it would only render with 4 of them. So does it work like, 1 GPU per thread or something? I would also currently like to add that i had Optix Prime Acceleration Enabled. Not sure if that matters. If anyone is more knowledable on this matter I'd really appreciate your help.

I'm not clear on how to tuck the blouse/bodysuit inside the skirt/pants?

Also, I thought (I must have misread) it came with a pair of shoes...it doesn't, d'Oh! I've been trying to (unsuccessfully) fit Victoria 4 pumps on my Genesis 8 female figure...rather unsuccessfully. I'm faking it using the Bardot sandals which I've colored black using a shader (looks like a pair of strapless heels!). Wrapping the blouse and blazer around my character's rather "disproportionately large bosom" has been a head scratcher too - I get full coverage by cranking the "voluptuous" slider all the way up, but then the bottom part becomes too baggy...agreed, that will be a non issue once I've fgured out how to tuck the blouse/bodysuit, it shouldn't be visible at that point...

Oh yeah, I did try to fix it by reducing the breasts size from an E cup to a D cup, but I'm having the same problems...

If you could point me to the appropriate setting(s) it would be much appreciated! And if there's a pair of pumps for Genesis 8 females I could get for cheap, it would also nbe much appreciated!

Thanks!
