What I'm asking might not even exist, but I got to try.

I have a room with bunch of lights coming from bunch of different objects and doing a render in that room takes more than 2 hours on a GeForce 1080TI. The result is nice, but the waiting time is killing me, It's not a problem when I have to render a single scene or something, but as soon as I'm trying to render an animation or several shots from the same spot, only with different poses and facial emotions it's annoying to have to wait again 2 hours.

So I was wondering if there is a way to do it with layers? Let's say I first render the background and then I do the different poses. Is there a way to keep the lighting? Don't know, create an HDRI or something?

If it's not possible than, that's it. I'll reduce the quality of the light and stuff like that so I can reduce the waiting time.

Having this problem with Linday's 'classic long hair dforce'. In tutorial one, which comes with the hair, it explains how to create an initial custom hair shape, before simulating. In brief, this is done by simulating the hair in a new position (for gravity's sake) and then exporting the shape in base resolution, as an object file. You then clear the simulation and load the saved shape, using Morph Loader Pro, in order to start a new simulation and get a drape effect that is not possible with the generic shapes.

The problem for me, is that when I get to the stage of loading a morph, using Morph Loader Pro, I get an error message saying: WARNING: Geometry doesn't match - failed to create morph.

I've watched the video (tutorial One) repeatedly and cannot see what I'm doing wrong. I was thinking it might be a settings issue for either exporting or importing. If anyone can shed some light on this, would be most grateful.

Hey guys, I'm trying to animate a short scene in which a Genesis 8 Female character (with dForce classic long hair by Linday) is walking a few steps forward while the wind is blowing.
I placed a wind node and set all the settings to my desires. When I simulate the current frame, it works perfectly and the hair responds to the wind node in a realistic way, just how I like it. But when I simulate the animation, the hair falls down without responding to the wind node.

Does anyone know what I'm missing here?

* I am aware of the fact that, in the PDF instructions of the product by Linday, it is explained that the wind node has a small effect on the hair but I think it's strange that the wind node seems to work perfectly well when simulated in current frame, and seems to not work at all when simulating an animation. Makes me think there could be a simple solution that I'm overlooking.

i want to take one of the shoes and place it on the floor like its not being worn yet.

so im expermenting but whatever i try the moment i try to detach the shoes then they revert to the flatfoot state.

i know i could have another genesis female wearing the shoe with visibility turned off but this seems so crude.

i guess my question is can i apply or bake the high heeled morph that comes with the shoe to the shoe itself instead of having to go through a gf8 figure??.....thanks.

I come back from dinner and reopen DAZ and the scene file i was working on and I see the morphs back in the parameter tab that I deleted before dinner. I delete them again, save the file and reopen it to see if i somehow forgot to to save the file before I left for dinner.. Nope, the morphs returned to the parameter tab. Huh???

This time after deleting the morph controllers in the parameter tab, i went to the data folder the morphs were stored in and deleted the morphs there.

Saved the file and exited.

I reopen the file and the morphs reappeared in my parameter tab, and they still work...

How do I kill these zombie resurrecting morphs?

I will open the base charcter G3F and see if the morphs are still stuck on her. Why can't cards to the sliders be like this?

Trying to use this in 4.12 on Mac Mojave. Some items work but others do not (like expressions and some textures).

My question is if this is an issue where it will only work with Poser or if I'm not applying an older asset properly.

Any thoughts/ideas are well appreciated. I like the model as she's got a unique look but I'm not really able to get the most out of the asset if I can't access some of the options.

On a scale of 1-10 this is a 0.5 (read: super low prioritity but a touch higher than idle curiosity.)

Honestly, I'm finding these older V4 assets to be tough to work with sometimes. Maybe I'm better using them in Poser?

So, after haviing to reinstall Daz due to verious issues, I'm experiancing a problem with Measure Metrics. As usual when reinstalling the program, the Measure Metrics Pane won't display, so I followed the usual steps, to uninstall and reinstall the Figure Metrics and Measure Metrics in the DIM, however when I went to do the secod part of the typical solution, inputting the serial number in Help>About Installed Plugins> Measure Metrics, Measure Metric doesn't appear in my list of installed plugins. What do I do in this scenario?

Something weird happening. Just updated my Mac to Catalina a few days ago. Just today I opened Daz Studio and got a message saying "configuration has changed. User must reauthenticate" - or something to that effect. Restarted Daz. Message didnt come back so I figured everything must be fine. However, when I go to Open a file, the file (any file) is grayed out and I can't open it (I can't select it, can't double click it or anything). I can navigate Folders, but Duf files are not accessible. However I can still open a file by using the Smart Content window and importing scenes, etc.

Anyone familiar with this issue? I can only assume it has something to do with my recent Mac update to Catalina. Any ideas on how to resolve? Maybe I never "reauthenticated" properly? If so, exactly what do I do?

Mac Os Catalina ver 10.15.1

Daz Studio ver 4.12.0.86 Pro edition 64 bits

Thanks to anyone who can help!

This is basic Genesis 8 male from Daz
I've exported him as FBX and imported into CLO3D
The difference between these two softwares about how they render the figure skin is quite
Can someone help me to improve the workflow ?
Maybe I need to merge all the surface setting into one texture.. ?

Hi there,

I have Urban Sprawl 3 and I consider to get Urban Sprawl 2 as well.

So my question is: Are Urbansprawl 2 & 3 combinable in any way? Does the street layout fits each other? And If yes, do I see a huge difference between them when rendering in Iray (relating 3DL vs IRAY textures)?

Overall, does it make any sense by now to get US2 if you already have US3?

Thanks!

I've created a custom character - morph and textures - and now I'm trying to save it as a character preset, but it loads up with the default G8F lashes texture instead of the lashes that I'm saving it with.

I'm doing: Save As > Character Preset, then in the pop up dialogue "shape settings" and "material settings" are ticked. "Post Load" is ticked and the script path is correct, but while it loads complete with the eyelashes geograft, the lashes texture map is just the default G8, not the one that is loaded on the figure when I'm saving it.

Other characters that I've bought load with their own lashes texture when they're loaded from the character preset, so I'm obviously doing something wrong here. But what exactly?

Except I'm using the No Suit for G8 Male (and female) rather than the Supersuit, and I use Gimp rather than Photoshop. I think I can use a Geoshell instead of the basic suit, where I'm stuck though is how to create the emblem in Gimp; the terminology is different so I'm in the dark as far as creating the color (or diffuse) map, the displacement map and the Opacity map. Gimp Gurus, some advice?
