      <description><![CDATA[<p>DAZ crshed on me and when I restarted it the Smart Content had no, well, content. I can look at the Products if I turn off &quot;Filter by Context&quot; but nothing populates the bit on the left at all.<br />
<br />
I&#39;ve looked for fixes for this but nothing I&#39;ve tried has had any effect.<br />
<br />
Anyone know how to fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve had the gorilla in my runtime for a bit, but hadn&#39;t gotten around to working with it. I decided to experiment with the gorilla fur on a different G8 character, and it was going quite well - even tried wind-affected dforce simulation, and got good results. Suddenly, after making material modifications on a different element in the scene, the fur stopped rendering. I can see the guide hairs in preview, but nothing in render. Tried rebooting, pulling up a different scene, and loading the gorilla in with fur and rendering the default, but to no avail. I&#39;m using D|S 4.12, and haven&#39;t made any changes to my system that would explain it.</p>

<p>Any ideas, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated - I&#39;m working on a scene for the hubs, and I&#39;d like to get it right before Christmas.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I usually have no problems deleting walls on other buildings, but the one I&#39;m working with has the walls as bones (is that the correct term) instead of objects? When I try to delete the walls, for example, it deletes the whole building. I tried deleting them with the JointEditor, but it removes the reference in the Scene window but the wall doesn&#39;t disappear. Help! :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just bought&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16813144262">https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16813144262</a>&nbsp;this motherboard, and I&#39;m waiting on the DDR4 ram that I ordered so that I can use it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But I didn&#39;t search the exact model number from the MSI ram compatibility list. So it&#39;s quite likely that it won&#39;t have an XMP profile.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now anyone that knows the specifics of what an XMP profile is, and how it&#39;s implemented, should know that technically any kind of ram should be useable with this motherboard, just that the exact 100% stable timings have not been tested and put into an XMP profile by MSI. That said, I am just curious if anyone here might know from experience what the best timings would be for&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.newegg.ca/team-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820331413?Item=N82E16820331413">https://www.newegg.ca/team-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820331413?Item=N82E16820331413</a>&nbsp;this ram, on that board with a 2700X Rizen.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I&#39;m having difficulties finding how to adjust the curve on the Timeline graph for any particular motion. I see that I can change the interpolation for any particular key, but how do I change its strength? For example, if you&#39;re animating a punch, I want the initial windup of the punch to be slower in the beginning and then picking up speed as the frames continue. TCB interpolation does this but I can&#39;t figure out how to control the curve to determine by how much slowdown/speedup I want.</p>

<p>Is this possible in the current version of Daz?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hi.

I have a small library of content.
When I explore the library in windows explorer the textures folder is near 35GB.

For my portable laptop that's a big chunk of the SSD!

Keeping files on a external drive is not ideal!

I would love to know some answers or comments about my questions below. I am looking for easiest ways to accomplish this.

1. regarding file formats I can see BMP and TIFF are largest file size. Can I change them to JPG? Or would DAZ3D report them missing and objects show up without textures?

2. If I use a photo manager to find and resize any image larger then 4096x4096.. and bring them down to 4096x4096. (I might even bring them down to 2048x2048)

Would changing the resolution cause Daz3D to display the texture incorrectly?

Do the models have information on texture resolution which would need the texture to be a certain resolution?

Do you guys have any other ideas?

      <description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hello. For some reason, I am unable view all of my animal characters that have fur or hair using LAMH plugin or the Catalyzer. When I open the character and &quot;Attach LAMH Preset&quot; using the LAMH plugin, I see the hairs in the Texture mode or Cartoon mode, but when I try viewing it in Render mode (NVIDIA Iray mode) none of the hairs are visible. Please advise. I&#39;m not sure if this is related, but I recently purchased two dforce hair models and those two, including the dforce Afro Styles Hair are also not showing the hair in Render mode.</span></p>

<p>I have try to render it in a way to get back the figure they shown but no luck, in the attachment shows an highly simular position and lighting, but I found that she does not look like/same as the promotion picture, I would wonder why? Have I done something wrong? missing any thing?</p>

<p>even the outcome looks not bad, but it looks obvious to me they are&nbsp;two different person, and also missing some feeling and soul, seriouly want to ask for advise from expert here, many many thanks in advance.</p>

<p>also, it would be great if&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/crocodile-liu">Crocodile Liu</a>&nbsp;could give advise on the parameters and such, so that I could recreate what they selling, many thanks in advance.</p>

<p>Finally, I would like to say, I buy a lot of models, they may be simularm but they can be differentiate in human sense.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I would expect it is easy for me to able to recreate figure especially on their face, if I unable to get the face I intended to buy, all my buying may mix up or&nbsp;duplicate, because they only have subtly little different</p>

<p>What I&#39;m trying to get here is to put one object inside of another (say, inside a cube) and to change the cube&#39;s surface settings (in Iray) so that it&#39;s tranculent. I want to be able to see the object inside the cube, but not necessarily all the way through.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any hints you can give on how to accomplish that?&nbsp;</p>

If I&#39;ve set a scene, created all the keyframes - and then found that something is in the wrong place... say a plate is floating above the surface of a table in the background... do I have to step through every frame and relocate the item to the same height manually?&nbsp;<br />

Or is there a way to select it so that it is selected in ALL frames, and reposition or even delete it globally in every frame?&nbsp;<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I really truly don&#39;t know why this keeps happening to me, but I keep ending up with these weird eyes on G8F that just can&#39;t be fixed by any way that I&#39;ve found. I try chaning the eyes to those of different characters or from different product, but the weird black lines remain.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There&#39;s also the matter of this character having a little black&nbsp;dot and a black circle on her forehead. They seem even more pronounced at a distance. Anyone have any clue what&#39;s causing this? Please help!&nbsp;</p>

<p>You can also see from a distance that her eyes are looking really weird as well</p>

They were saved with the current version of DAZ Studio 4.12.0.86 running on MacOS Catalina 10.15.1</p>

<p>&quot;Double clicking on a DUF file&quot; does not work.<br />
&quot;File &gt; Open&quot; does not work (the files are greyed out)<br />
The file type is correctly associated with the app. I have made no changes to this and confirmed it.</p>

<p>&quot;File &gt; Open Recent&quot; works<br />
<br />
Is this a mac specific issue? I have checked and I have given DAZ Studio Full Disk Admistrative Access. I&#39;ve rebooted, and I&#39;ve uninstalled and reinstalled the studio suite.<br />
No luck though</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I built my current rig in 2011, basing it on a I7 2600K processor. No, I feel it&#39;s time to crank it up and since I am not rolling on gold, I thought &quot;Since AMD has made quite a leap with Ryzen&#39;s, why not?&quot;</p>

<p>After looking into the whole thing, I am considering a Ryzen 3700x on an appropriate Asrock mobo (one not requiring a bios update) and keeping my RAM count at 32go in ddr4 instead of ddr3 of course.</p>

<p>I would keep my GTX1070ti since I bought it not so long ago. Would that kind of setup fare well with DS? Any potholes I should be weary of? I really don&#39;t know since this will be my first AMD in eons and I haven&#39;t exactly kept an eye on the whole AMD/intel differences regarding 3D rendering and stuff.</p>

<p>Any good advice would be very welcome :)</p>

<p>Graphics cards like Nvidea Titan X offer very fast render times (see&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVe6FNd4yQc">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVe6FNd4yQc</a>) however they are also very costly.&nbsp; I&#39;d like to approach these (almost) realtime performance by finding another card that could render a similar scene in seconds.&nbsp; &nbsp;Since this is a hobby I cannot spend the budget of Titan X.&nbsp; Is there a card that can achieve this on a low budget ? Thanks for your suggestions.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>How does one make a shaping preset that behaves as expected even when the main character Head+Body contoller is set to more than 0? The shaping preset for a head remove morph does not go to &#39;0&#39; as expected when the main controller is set to something other than 0. etc. The head remove preset only brings it to the same level as the main controller percentage instead of 0. Or is this the intended behavior of shaping presets?</p>

<p>I&#39;d like to make a head shaping preset that removes the head shape entirely to 0 regardless of what the main character Head+Body controller is set and vice versa, make a head apply preset that moves the separate head slider to 1 or 100% regardless what the main controller is set at.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When using Dforce clothing, is there a way to prevent it from reacting oddly to hands and arms when touching. If you pose a hand so it touches a shirt or pants, the shirt or pants either depress away from the hand (revealing bare skin underneath), or they envelop the hand, causing a weird alien effect. Any way to prevent this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to add aerial perspective to my scenes (where distant objects and landscape are greyer and duller than foreground).</p>

<p>I have been using a fog product I purchased, but while great for fog, is not so great for natural looking atmosphere.</p>

<p>These are the two products I am considering and I wondered if anyone knows which product is easier to use?</p>
