      <description><![CDATA[<p>The attachments best explains whats happening.</p>

<p>I&rsquo;m not sure how to explain this but because of the current issues with GPU rendering dropping to CPU I chose&nbsp;over the weekend to revisit some older projects involving V4. Using Studio 4.12.1.40 Beta and Public release 4.12.0.86.</p>

<p>And a new problem has shown up. It appears that when the &lsquo;translate tool&rsquo; or even sliders are used, V4 moves out pose, not just directional move but the whole body, most times the foot twitches while it traverses some distant to be placed elsewhere in a scene. During that time the entire body will move out of pose just a bit but only a bit and only at the initial move.</p>

<p>This problem also happens with M4.</p>

<p>I&rsquo;ve tried uninstalling, followed by a total removal of the v4 folders. I&rsquo;ve gone so far as to even install V4 alone on a separate drive to trouble shoot this issue and to no avail, it continues to happen.</p>

<p>It does not occur with Genesis on up.</p>

<p>I&rsquo;ve also tried to replicate this issue by using an exact layout of the V4 folder with 4.2 morph and ++ morph on a different computer using Studio 4.9. It truly doesn&rsquo;t matter if the morphs are loaded or not, it still happens with the base layout of v4.2 (which is installed via the Install Manager as is Studio) (FYI the Laptop GPU is incompatible with anything higher than 4.9 (GTX 560).&nbsp;</p>

<p>On my tower system I&rsquo;ve gone so far as to test this problem out with Studio 4.10 and 4.11. and while trouble shooting driver issues also using NVidia Studio driver 441.12, 441.66 (studio) and 441.12 drivers.</p>

<p>The problem persists through all aspects.</p>

<p>I&rsquo;m hoping this is a configuration issue in the current 4.12 Public release and 4.12 most recent &nbsp;beta&nbsp;and easily fixed with a simple click someplace like the draw settings or such.</p>

<p>System specs are 3.8GHz i7, 32Gb Ram, RTX2070 (8gb ram), (2)GTX 960 (4Gb ram). Nvidia driver is 441.66 Game driver as the Studio driver does not support the GTX 960 and windows disables the two cards as useless, and Studio cannot and will not render using the GPU. it&#39;s an instant CPU render.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The attachment will show the character was only moved a tiny bit but the whole body moved out of pose.</p>

<p>Any help would be great.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi.&nbsp; It&#39;s been a long time since I did 3d art.&nbsp; I am slowly getting back into it and have a question.&nbsp; Back in the early days clothing and enviroment&nbsp;products came with a template so one could create their own textures.&nbsp; I have noticed that with all my genesis 8 and the few enviroment purchases so far their are no options to create a custom texture?&nbsp; Is the template installed somewhere on my mac&#39;s hard drive or do I have to purchase them seperately, and if so where.</p>

<p>The reason I ask is because I would like to create custom textures for Fulcrum University and several other clothing products.</p>

<p>Thanks for the help.&nbsp; If this is the wrong place to ask please let me know.</p>

Quick (I hope) newbie type question.<br />
<br />
When I try to load a G8F, Base Figure or Custom, it starts to load...&quot;reading asset&quot;, the little bar moves across, then eventually stops.&nbsp; When I click anywhere on the screen, I get a &quot;Daz Studio Has failed to respond&quot; and I have to close it down.<br />
What are the steps I need to take to track down the culprit?<br />
&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the record, I can load&nbsp; G2, G3, a Scene... pretty much anything but a G8F asset (G8Ms work).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m using She Orc by Rawart and Lilikh Outfit. I am having the issue shown in the image. If I zero the She Orc Morph, the boots shrink. The in-built boot adjustments do not expand enough to &#39;cover&#39; the amount of shrinkage. Is there a way to remove the She-Orc morph from just the toes part of the boots only? It may be possible to fix just the toes with the Expand options available on the boots.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Studio is crashing before the dialog that asks if you want to work offline or connect.&nbsp; It just stops, and if you click anywhere other than the close button, you get the busy icon and can only close the program.&nbsp; I have tried to uninstall Studio using the IM and then reinstalling but, nothing.&nbsp; I didn&#39;t restart the computer between or uninstall anything but the one program file, though, if that makes any difference.&nbsp; I am using 4.12 and it has worked in the past.&nbsp; There have been NO updates to WIN 7 since it worked.&nbsp; Mostly all I&#39;ve done is download new content with DIM.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Any suggestions would be helpfull.</p>

I left off the extra morph packages for head and body, and installed the rest of the content. G8F came out just fine. Genesis 3 male and female also did. G8M is distorted, as if I turned on every morph to an extreme. Any suggestions?</p>

This is a bit complicated to explain. Please bear with me.</p>

<p>In a nutshell:&nbsp; Was working with geoshells and geografts in Public 4.12.0.86 and an existing geograft working product got &quot;wacked&quot;.&nbsp; Say whacked because there is some artifical extra surface mat, like a ghost, or 2nd one affecting the main product. Think it got baked in somehow (though I didn&#39;t save that geograft itself.)</p>

<p>But, I can still see product work as intended in DazStudio Beta 4.12.1.86 (which have not been using).</p>

<p><br />
To start maybe could ask: Where are changes for associations per DazStudio Version like Saved scenes and new ERCs and morphs stored or recorded?</p>

<p><br />
What I mean is, am looking for where is the cache for one DazStudio version stored (like 4.12.0.86 VERSUS another version like 4.12.1.40)?<br />
Things like ERCs, new saved scenes and such are not necessarily auto-associated&nbsp; to other Daz Studio version.<br />
For saved scene when you switch over to other DS version, I first have to go through open submenu and manually point it.&nbsp; That is even though I have both versions sharing same directory always.<br />
For morphs in new directory structures (maybe even existing?) you need to add somehow to get into other version.&nbsp; In 4.12.0.86 where I added them, they are always instandtly there with each new session.&nbsp; With 4.12.1.86 will probably to publish.&nbsp; Hadn&#39;t got that far yet.<br />
Am focussed on this issue instead.</p>

<p>More Importantly, in the case of my Daz-headache, I know this is a &quot;cache&quot; related issue because:<br />
I can Iray preview the exact same saved scene in the Beta 4.12.1.40 and the product works as it should.&nbsp; Luckily had not been using Beta.&nbsp; So i got this clue.<br />
Reload a 2nd session with Beta and issue is still not there, so good thing is it&#39;s not auto updating from the Public version.<br />
Save that good scene, open in Public and issue is back.&nbsp; So it has to be a deep-seated cache thing, and not the dufs or saved scene.<br />
Very important to note.&nbsp; This &quot;change&quot; is just like the ERCs, morphs and scenes I made in 4.12.0.86.&nbsp; None of those are automatically updated or shown in Beta 4.12.1.40 either.&nbsp; And they say morphs are missing when load the scene in 4.12.1.40, which were made and used in 4.12.0.86.</p>

<p>&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Was guessing it is all stored in CMS - sorted and separated by Studio Versions?&nbsp; But apparently that&#39;s not it either.<br />
&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Already did two resets of CMS/and re-import Metadata.&nbsp; Not lucky.&nbsp; 2nd time I just deleted the whole CMS directory and it updated meta-data on it&#39;s own.&nbsp; Issue still there.&nbsp; so loaded saved scene into Beta, and again geograft previews properly (and still gives me errors about my new morphs in a new folder - both those morphs have nothing to do with this geograft)<br />
&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Before that cleared both temp and DSON (deleted and let it auto-generate) and that did not fix my issue.</p>

<p>Am a bit bewildered why I can&#39;t find why Beta vs Public iray-preview the identical saved scene very differently all of a sudden. Has been working fine for months as intended in both versions.&nbsp; As I say my changes were working on geografts/geoshells.&nbsp; What I had installed for bought stuff, I already uninstalled too.&nbsp; Plus new content isn&#39;t really viable cos it doesn&#39;t explain why it works in Beta.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi. I&#39;m trying to save out a new character.&nbsp;I right-click in the Property Hierarchy panel and select ERC Freeze. I select Genesis 3 Female as the Node. And under Property, I select Create New... But in the Create New Property panel, when I click the drop-down for Type in order to select Modifier/Shape,&nbsp;the only option is None.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just started to get an error message about DS not being able to connect to the PostgreSQL CMS (screenshot attached). I&#39;m using the Beta 4.12.1.40 on a Mac (10.15.2). I checked with the non-Beta DS and got the same error message.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Can I repair the database? Is there something else I can do to fix this? I have a lot of custom content stuff, so I don&#39;t want to rebuild from scratch if I can avoid it.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, let me briefly explain. I&#39;m looking to upgrade from my 1080ti blower to an RTX model. The problem is, I have a micro-atx tower, and frankly due to very limited space and airflow inside it I&#39;m kind of constrained to blower-style cards. My Gigabyte blower is operating at a stable 68 degrees (custom fan curve) under full load in DAZ, and sometimes around 76-ish degrees in games. <strong>My question is - is 2080ti&#39;s thermal performance manageable in a micro atx tower (for a blower fan)?</strong></p>

<p>Does anyone have a PNY card and had to RMA it? How was the customer service?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Not sure that is the right title, but here goes.&nbsp; I&#39;m a several year user, but do not consider myself an expert at all.&nbsp; After I downloaded DAZ 4.12, I found out that my system couldn&#39;t handle it (crashed all the time even before designing), so I backed down to DAZ 4.11.</p>

<p>Since then, every time it loads (which it does fine) all Genesis 8 figures, including those designed in the past, have hollow, blank, or alien looking eyes.&nbsp; Does anyone know if something is loading everytime that needs to be deleted or if there&#39;s a setting I need to change.&nbsp; Know it&#39;s possible that there&#39;s a coincidental problem here, but can&#39;t figure it out right now.</p>

<p>PS - This is a positive, since the reboot to 4.11, my renders now only take minutes, not twenty minutes, to render a one figure (no background) scene.&nbsp; Don&#39;t know why this is happenening either.&nbsp; Possible that I&#39;ve downgraded the quality, I guess.&nbsp; Who knows.</p>

ERROR LOADING TARGET FIGURE 

 All I can do is push OK and it closes. I have been trying to figure this out for a minute and I can't. I even reinstalled windows to see already happen. Its new library but the the same problem still exists. It works Fine with every other Genesis in my library. But Genesis 3 female will not work. That's the only one that doesn't work. Even Genesis 3 male Works just fine. It's only Genesis 3 Female that does this]]></description>

<p>I bought the product on sale the other day and have been trying to convert a few V4 Hair products (installed with DIM): Chocolate Hair, Peppermint Hair, Serenade Hair,&nbsp;Tequila Hair and Isabel Hair with no success whatsoever?!?</p>

<p>Yes I have read the manual froward and bakward, the hair figure seem to load on the Genesis 8 Female in the scene then it disapears and the script ends. The attached images may offer a clue to what&#39;s going on?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Just in case you have High Iray Render times and perhaps a sluggish PC, this may or may not be of help to you</p>

<p>The times I was getting to render a 1920 x 1080 image was taking forever&nbsp;</p>

<p>I also found out a few Iray settings that caused some problems</p>

<p>this is what I found</p>

<p>I have 4 drives installed, the C and G drives are both SSD, so you would hope and expect them to be faster that the normal drives</p>

<p>When I open up task manager, I noticed the drive % was around 22 to 25% this is missleading, as that is the % across all drives</p>

<p>When I checked each drive I noticed Drive 0 was nearly always around 98%</p>

<p>Checking on the internet there were a couple of services that you can stop, but this didn&#39;t work</p>

<p>So I stopped and started each running service in turn until the problem stopped and restarted</p>

<p>It was the <strong>Advanced System Care 10 App</strong>. I have now disabled this for now, but have reported the problem to them</p>

<p>The other problem&#39;s were in the Iray settings advanced tab</p>

<p>I have a quad i7 and 2 geforce 970 installed set up in SLI</p>

<p>I had enabled cpu and gpu 1 and 2</p>

<p>Big problem as it was writing to a busy disc0 render times &gt; 8 min</p>

<p>First I disabled CPU on both Render options photoreal and interactive, render times reduced to 4 min to 5 mins in photo real option with Advanced System Care 10, killing drive 0</p>

<p>Running both Geforce GPU&#39;s with Advanced System Care disabled 4 mins 12 seconds</p>

<p>Running both Geforce GPU&#39;s and the quad i7 CPU&#39;s render times with Advanced System Care disabled 4 min 14 seconds LOL slower. Disc 0 traffic was low through out render</p>

<p>I was rendering to disc 3 the other SSD drive</p>

<p>I bought the program to reduce texture sizes etc but it didn&#39;t make any difference NSS LOL I&#39;ll try again now Drive 0 isn&#39;t running at100%</p>

<p>Another weard problem to be aware off, I tried using the Interactive settings and got a black render? Why cos I had disabled CPU and enabled both GPU&#39;s. for some reason Studio doesn&#39;t use the GPU&#39;s in this configuration. Enabling CPU corrected the black render problem</p>

<p>Just out of interest the quad cpu&#39;s run at 100% when cpu is enabled and are now runing around 40% with cpu disabled</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;m just currently testing out Daz messing about and that, I wanted to create a simple animation of a character walking. at least 4 cycles longer than the 1 cycle walk animation. Everything worked fine the character would walk the full length. Until I increased the size of the model, once the end of the cycle animation was complete the next would go back to the start (reset) instead of walking continuously like when the model was normal size. What&#39;s the reason for this? Do I need to buy something like aniMate 2 or is it something else. I&#39;ve seen others using Daz, animate with characters of different scales (unless they&#39;re not using the existing animations.)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I use Falco&#39;s realistic geoshell tears, it makes a semi-transparent white shell over the 3FeetWolf&#39;s newGens, which makes the gens look like a different material than the rest of the body.&nbsp; I remember somehow turning off that specific area&#39;s visibility in render on the shell, but can;t remember how to do it now.&nbsp; Anyone know how to fix this issue?</p>

<p>I have downloaded this product via DIM but when I call it up in Smart Content, all I get is the &quot;Unique Smile HD Reset&quot;.</p>

<p>When I manually downloading the zip file and I go to the data, runtime &amp; people files under Content, the individual files are all there already!</p>

<p>Have I missed something?</p>

<p>When I use DIM, normally the product works perfectly but for some reason this one doesn&#39;t!</p>

<p>Any suggestions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Not having much luck today with anything. :(</p>

<p>I purchased the Midnight Scholar Poses for Genesis 8.</p>

<p>When I apply any of the poses the figures simply dissapear.</p>

<p>&quot;The Library&quot; is a requirement for this product, but I&#39;m assuming that is only if you want them in that enviroment which they were intended.</p>

<p>Not having the environment has never been an issue for me with any other pose products.</p>

<p>So I&#39;m not sure why the figures simply dissapear. They are basically invisible even though they are listed in the Scene tab, and the Uninversal tool is in the viewport.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?</p>

<p>Question is, after exported from the eyelashes obj from DS and remodeled, how to reload and connect? I thought about something like Transfer Utility, but I&#39;m not sure, cause I know they are Geograft. So, what is the procedure to get a standard default obj load?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to use 3Delight for some very long (well over 200 frames) animations since simple lighting like a headlamp or spotlight can lead to most of the image being converged in mere seconds. However, DAZ stiil attempts to render&nbsp;the image further, even if the difference visually is negligible. However, I haven&#39;t seen any options anywhere to impose a limit on how long a render can go for before it&#39;s considered done, like in iRay with the Max Time setting. Is there a similar option somewhere for&nbsp;3Delight? Or maybe a script?</p>

<p>Occasionally, when using FaceGen, I have noticed what I can only describe as &quot;smearing&quot; or &quot;stretching&quot; of eyelid material when the character&#39;s eyes are closed. It may be somewhat dependent on the reference image. It can be somewhat minimized with postwork, but I wonder if anyone else has experiencedc it and how/if they address it.</p>

<p>i have started to add smoothing modifiers to the G8F body as it looks much more realistic when they move and bend arms/legs.</p>

<p>default smoothing iritations is 2 but you get a better more smooth body with lets say 30-40 iritations</p>

<p>problem then is the whole body shrinks.</p>

<p>question here is is it possible to add a smoothing modifier for just some parts of the body? such as legs or arms and leave the rest at default ?</p>

<p>i also have another question about the base joint corrections which is ON by default</p>

<p>can you modify&nbsp;what parts that gets corrected?</p>

<p>base joint correction isnt quite 100% accurate when the body bends and shrinks some parts more than they should.</p>

<p>for some parts i usually want base joint correction set to OFF but then knees and thighs looks off when bending.</p>
