<p>But, the slider &quot;enlarge all&quot; does not work for one item :( and I wanna move it uover the butt, because... thats how I wear it in real Life too :D</p>

<p>Second problem, the short is a 3/4 Short (in german we call it &quot;Hochwasser Hose&quot;,=~ High tide pants) kinda... ugly :P I wanna make them down to the feet, is that possible? I did try it with the scale, but then it goes more up. okay... it goes down! (nice!) but...</p>

However, I soon found out the weight painting tool in DAZ is pretty unhandy, and there are not many tutorials or tips about how to use the tool effectively.</p>

I recently purchased Val3dart&#39;s Angel Secrets wool edition and after reinstalling/re-downloading&nbsp;the product, I&#39;m unable to&nbsp;change the sock materials. I tried adjusting the Base Color parameter and even using Diffuse Overlay Weight and still can&#39;t seem to change any materials from the the default color preset. Love the outfit and everything else is fine. Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just purchased an item from a vendor before the holiday and on experiment saw that one of the loading icons requests an incorrect texture from a wrong pathway. In Poser, I&#39;d edit the file in notepad++ to correct the file reference. Can this be done with .duf files? I&#39;ve never really examined the duf files and even though I&#39;ve been tooling around D/S for several years, I still consider myself a complete noob. Any help/advice/example would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve installed DAZ 4.12 via Install Manager. The DIM asked me about the location prior to the installation. But that was obviously only for the DIM?<br />
When the installation started, all the files were downloaded and installed in C, which I did not want to.<br />
<br />
The DIM has installed about 10 GB on my C partition. But I don&#39;t want it to stay on C, so I tried to change the paths via DIM under settings&gt;installation. I changed all the paths and clicked accept, but the stuff is still on C.<br />
<br />
So I wanted to uninstall everything, but how? In the DIM there is nothing listed under &quot;Installed&quot;, and &quot;Ready to Download&quot; and &quot;Ready to Install&quot; is also empty.<br />
How am I supposed to uninstall everything?</p>

<p>Or alternatively, how can I at least change the path for the two big folders under User/Public/Documents &gt; DAZ 3D and My DAZ 3D Library? There seems to be an option in the DIM for My DAZ 3D Library, but it is greyed out? I mean, I could manually move them, but there should be a proper way to do that, right?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m running out of hard drive space, so i need to move my DAZ content onto an external drive, without breaking Connect.&nbsp; But the only way of doing this I know of is to uninstall everything from Connect, then re-install everything on the new drive.&nbsp; Considering how big my content directory is, that means days of re-downloading files.&nbsp; Is there any way to just move the existing files and still have Connect locate and recognize them?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone, and happy new year! :D</p>

<p>I was wondering: do you know how to quickly reset an expression?<br />
I know every set of expressions has a zero pose, but I have countless expressions sets, so I don&#39;t always recall which one I used (I scroll many expressions each time, looking for the one that best fits a particular scene).</p>

<p>I&#39;ve assigned the shortcut &quot;-&quot; to &quot;Reset Element Pose&quot;, I usually select the head of one or multiple figures, and I hit &quot;-&quot;.<br />
It takes forever. I haven&#39;t measured the time, but it&#39;s something like 5 minutes.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried the reset poses set from DeviantArt, that works surprisingly fast for all other body parts, but the head function just resets the head element pose, without resetting the expression.</p>

<p>How do you do this?<br />

<p>In Daz3D 4.12 I have been experimenting with strand-based hair and cannot seem to control the length of the generated hairs despite there seeming to be a setting (i.e., &quot;Length&quot;) for doing exactly that in the Distribute tab of the SBH editor.</p>

<p>Attached are two experiments with a sphere primitive: one used Length = 0.1 and the other Length = 15 on the Distribute tab.</p>

<p>After making those Length changes on the Distribute tab, I did see the hair length change in the preview window, but subsequent SBH tabs for changing the clumping, random length, scraggle, etc. showed the visible hairs at a &quot;default&quot; length in each case.&nbsp; In fact, every hair experiment I&#39;ve tried with SBH resulted in a seemingly default length for the generated hairs - even editing those settings after the fact makes no difference to the visible length.</p>

<p>Thoughts welcome on how to vary actual length of the generated strand hairs.</p>

<p><strong>EDIT:</strong></p>

<p>I just noticed the &quot;Reduce Length&quot; setting in the Tweak tab and that does reduce the size of the hairs, which is a start!</p>

<p>And. under the Style tab, it seems that &quot;Scale Curves&quot; and &quot;Extend Curves&quot; can lengthen hairs.</p>

<p>So, what is the use of the &quot;Length&quot; value in the Distribute tab, to get an approximate bearing on hair distribution at your desired length setting?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Woke up this morning to DAZ Studio being unable to load <strong>anything </strong>from my content library. All the <em>Data </em>files and <em>Textures </em>files are marked as missing despite them being there.</p>

<p>Making a new Content folder from the base G8F ZIP on a different drive (trying to isolate the issue) has D|S unable to even open the DUFs.</p>

<p>Suggestions on what to try next?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was wondering if there were any scripts that copies what auto fit does with morphs but exports them. I&#39;d like to export the Genesis 8 figure with 100 morphs, then export the clothing that fits the figure also with 100 morphs for a blender scene. Say I have 100 morphs in my library and ten pieces of clothing. It would take me a few months&nbsp;to create 1000 morphs, just to have sloppy morphs that I couldn&#39;t really blend together. I&#39;d rather have auto fit create morphs to then export to the blender scene.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I attempt to download DIM, it tells me it needs an application to process the link which is clearly visible. However, I&#39;m not sure what program is needed. Next, when I did manage to get DIM installed, it did nothing for me. I tried numerous times to click on the link to download the studio, etc. Again, nothing happened for me. I&#39;m using a laptop computer running windows 10 64 bit system. I do want to learn about this program, but can&#39;t unless these issues can be resolved. <p>This is more of an intellectual curiosity than a genuine, immediate problem.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I tend to save my characters as a&nbsp;Single Dial Morph&nbsp;[SDM]. Why?&nbsp;Because it&#39;s quicker to change a scene. I can duplicate a figure, dial out the SDM and dial in another. It can take what seems way too long to load a new figure into a scene.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The question. I have a lot of characters that use the same basic body shape which is also an SDM, this then means I have SDM&#39;s that use other SDM&#39;s. If I wanted to share an SDM with a friend would that friend need to have all the SDM&#39;s used or would his/her system understand what that &#39;nested&#39; SDM links to? So, as long as the friend had all the morphs used for the SDM&#39;s would they be okay?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This might be a little particualr and hard to explain...</p>

<p>With the MeiLin character there are 2 variations of makeup applications. MakeupA = shows eyebrows, MakeupB = shows no eyebrows.</p>

<p>When I load any of the MakeupA, it loads fine. When i load MakeupB, the face becomes lighter.</p>

<p>This is happening with a character I have loaded, but does not happen if i start a fresh model and try to re-create the character and the problem.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t know what I am doing wrong and what is happening differently between the 2. I have checked and compared all the Surface settings for the face and they all seem to be identical.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Just installed Long Island Mansion from Collective3D.&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/collective3d-long-island-mansion">https://www.daz3d.com/collective3d-long-island-mansion</a><br />

Once loaded into Daz Studio 4.12&nbsp;the scene and Daz become catastrophically laggy to the point of unusable. Once the scene, say the Long Island Mansion preload, is loaded, the camera rotation, zooming, may be reasonable responsive a few moments&nbsp;but once any viewport setting is changed, even in the direction of hidden line, the Windows spinning wheel appears and thereafter Daz is basically non-reponsive. It takes a minute to even exit the program and may require a forced quit. Saving the Long Island Mansion project scene&nbsp;file seems to take a particularly long time to do so. Again, no other current Daz program I have even the very large scenes are anywhere near this laggy and strange.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I ran through all the usual suspects in terms of troubleshooting Daz settings to see if it could be a PC/Daz performance issue. I attempted just loading the house with no terrain or trees, no help. Loading the Long Island Mansion preload or loading just the house both result in extreme lag.&nbsp;I say &quot;lag&quot;, but the Daz interface delay goes beyond lag, the interface&nbsp;itself becomes unresponsive, buttons do not respond, spinning Windows10 blue waiting&nbsp;wheel, a white screen of near death from Daz with the message &quot;DAZ IS NOT RESPONDING&quot;&nbsp;and waiting 10 minutes does not bring the Daz interaction back to life.&nbsp;I tried restarting the PC. I tried turning Daz preferences&nbsp;down to basic performance and all the way up to max performance, adjusted the iRay settings to Optiplex on, off, etc. No Daz settings adjustments seem to make a difference. During the troubleshooting I opened other previous files and other files load OK and have normal, quick response.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
This is a large file, however I have loaded, as an example, Urban Future 5 and have set the preview window&nbsp;to iRay interactive render and have had the ability to move around the scene with iRay going at about 10FPS, with wire texture shaded selected in Urban Future 5 giving very quick, fluid camera control response. So, a comparable large complex scene responds fine whereas this Long Island Mansion seems to be DOA.&nbsp;I have done quite a bit of troubleshooting here and really have no further ideas how to solve unresponsive Daz performance with this product. Troubleshooting Log File is attached.&nbsp;<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I need help as my DS is crashing because of low memory. What I did is installed Advanced System Care and cleaned and optimized my computers wich went really good and I have to say that program is very good.</p>

<p>But later I found that DS can&#39;t work like before, as it seems some confing files were deleted. It couldn&#39;t load scenes from before and kept crashing because of low memory. I have deinstalled Advanced system care and then reinstalled DS (version 4.7 this time, just before Iray, I used to run DS 4.12 nicely, but although it worked great DS needed long time to load on my computer).</p>

<p>After reinstall (I tried with versions 4.8 and 4.9 too) ... It worked but my memory still needed to be optimized in DS. I remembered what I have done few years ago to optimize memory in DS and changed settings back and made things better. Now it loads scenes from before but when rendering it crashes in bigger scenes that could render good in DS 4.12.</p>

<p>I can&#39;t remember all changes that I did in DS before that optimized my memory, and as I have only 2GB I need someone with experience to help me make things better that I can work as before.</p>

<p>Here is what I have right now, and will stay with DS 4.7 (although some scripts like Ultimate Poser Mixer doesn&#39;t work anymore) now please can someone help me to make things better and if it might be possible to optimize memory to work even better. I know I need new computer but this might be my only option for some time till then...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>In another thread I had asked how to track Daz 4.12 Loading errors.&nbsp; I had a mixed of warning and duplicate errors... and my Base Genesis 8F load time was about 12 minutes.&nbsp; I deleted D.Master&#39;s Auto Face Enhancer and drastically cut down on these errors, and reduced my G8F load time from 12 Minutes to 2.<br />
***question-posted-earlier*** UPDATE - In the time it took to approve the post, I figured out my problem.&nbsp; I was missing 3rd Party Expressions for Genesis 8 Male/Female. so that is solved.<br />
<br />
So here is my next nut to crack</p>

<p>the Log says it can&#39;t find output property for formula:</p>

When I search through the files, I see that both genesis8female.dsf&nbsp; AND Youth Face Elongation.dsf are present.<br />

How do I fix it if both files seem to be there?</p>

<p>just opened daz and when&nbsp;I was loading a scene it started telling me things were missing....so I realized all&nbsp;content was gone!</p>

<p>I checked the directory manager and everything is ok</p>

<p>the strange thing is also that I have some content showing....in some letters of the content library but very very few</p>

<p>there is nothing to download with connect, I checked and I am logged in....</p>

<p>yesterday everything was fine!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I tried to use the the following product today, which I have used successfuly in the past with the same computer, and it is acting finicky.</p>

<p>I cannot merge&nbsp;the chimp into an existing scene without DAZ Studio crashing.</p>

<p>The only way I am able to use the chimp is to merge the figure into a new blank scene and render it that way. But&nbsp;if I try to save and reload the newly created scene with the chimp, I get the crash again (see log file below).</p>

<p>There is only one light in the scene and the Urban Skateboard product. That&#39;s it. This same exact scene will save and reload into DAZ with any other figure without any problems.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Does anyone know what the issue could be?? The log file does not say much.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m working on converting some poser figure maps over to iRay and I&#39;ve run into a question on how the maps are labeled. Rendo is down right now so I can&#39;t ask the merchant, I&#39;m hoping that this nameing might be standard and others know what they mean.</p>

<p>The maps have the standard color map and then several other maps.</p>

<p>Lets say i want to slimfit some clothing on a character, so I load the character and clothing piece into Hexagon and then make the meshes of the character &quot;solid&quot;, to avoid clipping from the clothing (while deforming) into the character.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If not possible in Hexagon, how about Blender?</p>
