<p>I&#39;m actually looking at <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1026970/SpaceEngine_PRO/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://store.steampowered.com/app/1026970/SpaceEngine_PRO/</a>, planning to buy it. But since 70+$ is a word, I will ask you first.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>If I add hair to a model, it appears just fine for a few seconds; then patches of hair disappear from the model just after those few seconds.</p>

<p>Does anyone know what could be causing this? I&#39;m using Marcus for Genesis 8 and Shaved Side Dread hair.</p>

<p><strong>EDIT:</strong></p>

<p>I saved, closed, and reopened the file and he same thing happened again. The hair appeared fine for 10 to 20 seconds only.</p>

<p><strong>SOLUTION:</strong></p>

<p>I&#39;ve found a work around for this issue for anyone that encounters this problem:</p>

<ul>
	<li>In the [Scenes] tab, highlight [Marcus].</li>
	<li>In the [Parameters] tab, go to [Marcus &gt; General &gt; Mesh Resolution] and under [SubDivision Algorithm], change the drop menu value from [Catmark] to [Loop].</li>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>According to the store page Arki&#39;s Ocean Queen is supposed to work in DS 4.12, but everytime I try to pose her the membrane of the wings either stay stationary or crumple.</p>

<p>Everything else seems to work, but not much you can do with a wingless dragon that has only bones for wings.</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated, just point me where I need to go.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have issues with mostly all&nbsp;accessories, except clothes and hair that tend to behave properly when taking an adult mesh down to a child mesh.</p>

<p>If you try to set up an adult character at frame 0 with hair, braces, glasses, etc. And then on another frame, you take him/her down in age,&nbsp;accessories go crazy. And doing a &quot;Fit&quot; to G8 Character doesn&#39;t help.</p>

<p>Growing up is a damn great morph package. But it generates some annoying issues.&nbsp;Could someone who faced that problem please give me some insight ?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Or is it just normal and we have to scale/translate objects in order to make them fit manually to the morphed mesh ?</p>

<p>why is it so easy to pose a &#39;Clean&#39; load of a Genesis 8 figure into a scene but so laggy&nbsp;sometimes to pose a character even when you&#39;ve switched to Base res and turned off or deleted everything else in the scene and is there a way to restore that easy posing back to a figure that&#39;s quicker than loading a new scene with new Genesis 8 figure?</p>

<p>I&#39;m not new to Daz Studio but I have been working on my Mac so far which went slow but steady. Recently I switched to Windows because I bought a rig from a failed crypto mining business that runs with 6 GTX 1080ti cards. I installed the latest drivers for the GTX cards and the device manager tells me they work fine although it only shows 5 cards.&nbsp;The Mainboard is a BTC 250 Pro, the CPU is a Intel Core i3-700, Ram is 16GB. The screen is connected with the hdmi-port of the first card, it&#39;s all a bit improvised but it works somehow.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now my problem is that I seem to be unable to make use of the GPUs in Daz&nbsp;Studio. When I open more complex scenes with 4 caracters and lighting&nbsp;and then switch to Iray preview, Daz crashes after maybe half a minute and tells me there&#39;s a fatal error. If I try to render directly, Daz fails and says there&#39;s a error as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When I check the task manager in Windows I can see that Daz doesn&#39;t use the GPUs at all, even though they are listed in the Advanced tap and the Engine is set to NVIDIA Iray.</p>

<p>I&#39;m lost here, can somebody help me find what&#39;s wrong? It can&#39;t be the temperature of the cards, since the ventilation system works well.</p>

<p>Any help is very much appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, I&#39;m trying to place onto the ground a pair of coveralls, specificaly the ones from <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-blum-for-genesis-8-females">dForce Blum for Genesis 8 Female(s)</a>, and was able to position them where I wanted after having changed the targetted surface to None (otherwise it adds itself to the G8F character in the scene, even though&nbsp;she wasn&#39;t selected in the scene when I added the garment to the scene, and then hides the coordinates fields), but when I start the dForce simulation, the darn thing doesn&#39;t move.&nbsp; I see a tiny amount of wiggling in the fabric surface, but the garment doesn&#39;t drop to the ground, and doesn&#39;t crumple in on itself, it simply stays there in mid-air, keeping the original&nbsp;body-shape it arrived with.</p>

<p>I&#39;m guessing there must be a non-obvious way to get it to plop to the ground, but I don&#39;t see it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>To my surprise, a decade and no one really talk about exporting from DAZ to Hitfilm step by step.</p>

<p>What I know is</p>

<p>1) Use Alembic exporter to make an .abc file. This is animation part.</p>

<p>2) Export the animated model to .fbx.</p>

<p>3) In Hitfilm, import the 3D Model (.fbx file).</p>

<p>4) In 3D Model Properties, check the model name.</p>

<p>5) in Materials tab, dial opacity property into 100% (one by one, and this is what I don&#39;t understand why we have to do so.)</p>

<p>6) Import 3D Model Animation (.abc file)</p>

<p>7) Apply animation to the model.</p>

<p>Is there any tutorials on youtube or whatever media? All I&#39;ve done above don&#39;t work. The texture is 50% transparent in Hitfilm. And when I create lights, some of the model&#39;s textures are gone. I&#39;ve read Alembic in Wiki Documents but it can&#39;t help. Just tell me to consult the other software manuals. I&#39;m quite lost and will be much appreciate if some of you can point me to the right tutorials. Thank you!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I ran across a line in the recent update that seems to indicate we can create keyboard shortcuts beyond the typical [Modifiers] + [Key], such as [CTRL] + [R] used for rendering or [CTRL]+[SHIFT]+[Y], which is undefined by default.&nbsp; It mentions the GNU Emacs text editor which allows for a sequence of keys to be used for shortcuts.&nbsp; The line is quoted below and was taken from <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/341001/daz-studio-pro-4-12-highlights">here </a>at the bottom.&nbsp; My question is: How do we assign these?&nbsp; Every time I try using the Customize Daz Studio dialog, I&#39;m stumped.&nbsp; Can anyone help me out?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Though I&rsquo;ve seen this topic or similar in a buncha places and posted about this in the Beta thread, I have not found any worthwhile advice or working solutions. That&rsquo;s not to say that others haven&rsquo;t found a resolve but nothing has worked for me. I&rsquo;ve also seen a number of threads where people thought they had fixed it only to have all the woe return at some, usually not that very long, after they had celebrated the fix that didn&rsquo;t fix.</p>

<p>I don&rsquo;t want to sound crass to anyone who may be offer advice cuz obviously I need it, I&rsquo;m frikkin desperate for it, but I just want to state at the outset that I reject that it&rsquo;s a hardware problem, or as someone replied elsewhere, that maybe the new features might be so frikkin awesome that my machine might not be able to handle it. My machine could use some upgrades, and I&rsquo;ve actually made some already in trying to fix this brutal crippling issue. And I do want to make sure I don&rsquo;t over represent myself or my abilities, but I consider myself to be at least a marginal idiot and not a complete one. So when time after time I read generic platitudes such as &nbsp;&ldquo;sounds like a hardware issue&rdquo; I think it&rsquo;s often a bit of a cop out. It&rsquo;s only less slightly less offensive than &ldquo;Try reinstalling Windows.&rdquo; Sometimes it can be hardware issues, sometimes actually reinstalling Windows can help, but it&rsquo;s rare, rare enough that it shouldn&rsquo;t be the go-to. I&rsquo;m going to go out on a limb here and guestimate that the percentage of times someone took that advice, a good 80-90% of the time they come back and report that it didn&rsquo;t work, or it seemed to work and came back. And if it isn&rsquo;t apparent already, that doesn&rsquo;t mean it actually worked in that last 10-20%, which could almost justify the advice to begin with, more often then not the person just doesn&rsquo;t reply. I know for me with this in the Beta thread, I just let it drop, I half gave up half didn&rsquo;t want to completely derail the thread.<br />

That&rsquo;s a lotta drivel before even delving into the issue or what I&rsquo;ve tried, if I&rsquo;m pissy it&rsquo;s cuz I&rsquo;m just exasperated. I just wanna be creating and for nearly a month now, due to these issues, I haven&rsquo;t been able to and it&rsquo;s killin me.</p>

<p>Okay, right, lets get to it. As others have reported elsewhere, when I attempt to open a project Daz3d will stall and any clicks on it will result in the Windows dialog &ldquo;not responding&rdquo; popup with the option to close the program. Often then Daz3d will get that white crash look and continue to hang. It may take an hour or more to open if it opens at all. The other issue is with rendering wherein at some point it&rsquo;ll act similar as to what I just described but with the added punch in the head of the monitors often going black, more as if they had been turned off then just turning the color black. With dual monitors sometimes the secondary would come back, sometimes after a little longer the primary would also come back. Sometimes the system would just crash and reboot. Worth pointing out, I have zero issues with any other program, graphics, 3d, or otherwise. I can have Photoshop open while editing a massive 4k video project with tons of effects and have countless other programs running simultaneously, Firefox, Office, Email, and play a frikkin game like Outer Worlds just for funsies. Of course at some point itll chug, drop frames, the usual, but that&rsquo;s normal, monitors turning off, spontaneous reboot &hellip; not so normal.</p>

<p>I&rsquo;ve run just about every diagnostic program out there and see no issues. I&rsquo;ve uninstalled and reinstalled Daz3d and the installer fresh after deleting all, or at least most, of the residual files and cleaning the registry. I&rsquo;ve uninstalled a variety of programs that in my head maybe possibly could by some stretch of the imagination caused a conflict in some unreasonable scenario I came up with in my head. Checked all my drivers, made sure everything was up to date, double, triple checked. I have a number of drives on my system. I have a 512 GB Samsung 970 M.2 Pro as my C drive where Daz3d is installed. My second drive is a 2 TB Samsung SSD 860 QV0 which holds all of my Daz3d content. My third is the same except only 1 TB and that&rsquo;s where I keep all my project files. My fourth is the same as that one which I use for cache, temp, downloads. I just replaced all the SATA cables in trying to troubleshoot this. I have an i7-6700 and, also in trying to fix this, upgraded from 32 gigls of I think it was 2700 RAM to 64gigs of 3200. I have a 980 TI Founders that&rsquo;s liquid cooled. I was running two Dell monitors that were actually older and had VGA connectors so one was straight VGA the other had a VGA to HDMI. One thread on this issue or exceptionally similar had three people say that they were using dual monitors and for some unknown reason changing monitors helped. In the spirit of that I just bought a new 34 inch HDMI so now only running that. All of this to no avail.</p>

<p>Now I can&rsquo;t be certain that the rendering issues are connected to the freeze/not responding while opening a project issue but that&rsquo;s my suspicion. I might mention that on the occasion that a project does open eventually, working in Daz3d is fine, works as expected, can get laggy with large scenes, pretty snappy on smaller ones. Temps are always low though I do notice that while rendering my CPU gets hammered while the GPU seems to be doing little or nothing. I also notice that while rendering it seems like the Ethernet goes a little nuts, no idea what that&rsquo;s about. I&rsquo;ve tried switching to &ldquo;Work Offline&rdquo; and that didn&rsquo;t seem to do anything discernable. With the previous memory it&rsquo;d fill up to the point of sketchiness but so far appears to leave a bit of headroom. Last observation is when opening I don&rsquo;t see much or any real drive use that I&rsquo;d expect when opening a project. In the background as I type Daz3d is white and choking stuck on &ldquo;Deleting Objects&rdquo; which has never made much sense to me when opening Daz3d and opening a project since there are no objects to delete, there is no scene to be cleared. I assumed, and still do I guess, that this was just a quirk of Daz3d.</p>

<p>That&rsquo;s about everything relevant that I can think of to include here. If I seem pissy or rude please understand that I&rsquo;m a fairly a typical starving artist and I&rsquo;ve gone all in with Daz3d and I&rsquo;m a good two or three weeks into zero productivity, I&rsquo;m dead in the water and when I say that I&rsquo;ve got everything riding on this I mean it literally, painfully so. The new memory, the new monitor, that was my rent that I have no idea how I&rsquo;m going to replace or where I might be able to beg, borrow, or steal. I&rsquo;m up to my frikkin neck and with every failed fix it just gets more and more bleak. Not looking for pity and already hate myself for feeling the need to overshare but truly want anyone reading this to understand why I might seem annoyed or aggressive. This is beyond some flame war on Bethesda&rsquo;s forums because my duffel bag wasn&rsquo;t made of canvas or some hacker stole all my gear. I just made myself lol so that&rsquo;s gotta be worth sumthin.</p>

<p>There are a whole lot of posts about this and no consensus on a fix. The common denominator is Daz3d so to the extent that it could might maybe be a hardware issue, it&rsquo;s a Daz3d issue with the hardware, not the other way around. It needs to be resolved not just for me in my desperation, but for all those that are being affected by this wasting so much time scouring the internet reading pages upon pages upon pages of red herrings and getting nowhere. Though ultimately blameless to me it&rsquo;s a bit of disservice to the community. I&rsquo;m begging solely for myself but it&rsquo;d be nice to track this down and actually solve it and not let it be one of those threads that just fizzle out helping no one. Please? Pretty pretty please with sugar on top? I&rsquo;ll pay you! After I pay my rent, IF I can pay my rent, right after that, the checks in the mail =/</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a hotkey for switching to perspective view that I can set in the keyboard mappings.&nbsp; However I want to switch back and forth between perspective and a specific camera name that i&#39;ve created like &quot;Camera1&quot;.&nbsp; Is there any way to assign a hotkey for this camera, either in the mappings or through a script/action?&nbsp; If it simplifies things it is always named the same name&nbsp;and it is the only camera in a scene besides the default viewports.&nbsp; For this situation, switching between perspective and the last used camera or something like that would work as well.&nbsp; Any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>For a few weeks I&#39;ve had strange problems with figures/objects displaying strangely in the viewport, such as:</p>

<p>Other times the viewport has random pixels that light up in neon colors. DS will sometimes crash when this happens, and there is nothing in the log that corresponds to the crash and the bug report doesn&#39;t pop up. I&#39;m guessing this is a hardware issue because no one else seems to have posted about it, but I need help in trouble-shooting it.</p>

	<li>Using DS 4.12.0.86 (Win 64 bit)</li>
	<li>Tried a full uninstall, and reinstall without any help</li>
	<li>GPU is RTX 2080, updated to latest driver</li>
	<li>Replaced cables to monitors, and tried three different monitors---still no luck</li>
	<li>I use DS on a stand-alone PC that has no other software/apps on it, and I&#39;ve updated the OS&nbsp;</li>

<p>For some reason I can&#39;t set a top coat bump map for Genesis 8 Female&#39;s Lips surface.&nbsp; It doesn&#39;t have the drop down arrow so you can specify a map.&nbsp; It only allows me to put a value in.&nbsp; Anyone know how to fix this?&nbsp;</p>

<p>So I&#39;m fast becoming one of those Daz users who is dang near possessed by the quest for photorealism in their human character renders (if there&#39;s a support group out there for people like me, please let me know. It might be time, haha). I&#39;ve come across N..S. Anagenessis 2 - Revolution. It looks and sounds pretty impressive! However, I gather from the description that it&#39;s from the pre-Genesis 8 era of Daz. Can anybody tell me if it works on Gensis 8? And can I canvas opinions on whether this product is worth the price tag today (not a comment on the quality of the product, but just how far things have come since it&#39;s release)? <img alt="smiley" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png" title="smiley" />&nbsp;&nbsp;It&#39;s March Madness after all, so the perfect time for a big spend, but I&nbsp;don&#39;t want to take the plunge without knowing more about the product.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I purchased the Ultra Trees system by Howie Farkes today, also the add on pack, the issue is that I can open the script with no problem, but its totally empty, it seems there is nothing in there for me to select. I`ve read through the PDF file four or five times to make sure I did`nt miss anything, but its still empty. What am I doing wrong?</p>
