<p>They only seem to be showing up in the camera headlamp.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Edit - For anyone clicking this thread. The issues I were experiencing have been solved. The issue of clipping causing some back marks was solved by the helpful people in this thread. The issue with one of the hairstyles displaying as a white basic model I managed to solve on my own by navigating to&nbsp;the materials tap for the various hair colours&nbsp;and selecting a hair colour. Doing that makes the hairstyle appear correctly.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to use some hairstyles from the vendor &quot;outoftouch&quot;. Unfortunately they seems to be causing me some issues, which to me look to be some kind of clipping. See the imgur link below to see some examples of what happens.</p>

<p>I&#39;m making sure to use the genesis 8 version of the hairstyles.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is happening without me having done anything to the character models. I&#39;ve literally just loaded them into the scene, and then tried to add the hairstyle onto the character models.</p>

<p>I&#39;m only getting this issue with hairstyles from outoftouch. The few hairstyles I have&nbsp;from other vendors work perfectly on all the characters I&#39;ve tried so far.</p>

<p>Kinda hoping this is some easy fix that I&#39;m just not aware of due to being extremely new to daz studio. Either I hope someone here have a suggestion for how to make hairstyles from outoftouch work properly</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m getting a bunch of white spots as well as some real fuzzy area stuff. Take a closer look around the stomache and cleavage area and you&#39;ll see what I mean. Not sure this happens, but how do I stop it from happening? I&#39;ve also attached my settings. Let me know what I can do as any and all help is appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I picked up the scene optimizer by 3ddigitimes today on sale. I&#39;ve been looking at this product for a while now, because I have a slower computer (NVIDIA GTX1050 card), so I&#39;m looking for a way to speed up renders. I used a scene that I made yesterday and it took me nearly three hours to render in Iray under normal circumstances. With scene optimizer it takes just as long. Has anyone used this product? Am I doing something wrong? ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Can anyone tell me why if I set two identical keyframes to hold a figure still for a bit in an animation, there is some movement between them?&nbsp; It seems like if I have a third keyframe on either side of the two identical ones, then the animation will move the figure toward the keyframe outside of the two, until it reaches the halfway point between the identical ones, and then start moving it back to it&#39;s original location. If that all makes any sense at all verbally. Basically if I move to either identical keyframe, everything is in the same spot, but in between each non keyframe is moving. One frame away from the first keyframe will look identical to one frame before the second, and so on till right between the two when the figure is at it&#39;s furthest from where it should be. If I managed to explain that well enough verbally.</p>

<p>Only way I seem to be able to make it sit there, is if I add a keyframe holding it in spot for every single frame. Which is rediculous. I realize Daz&#39;s default key editor is simplistic and feature poor, but this seems like a simple thing I should be able to do. I am using Daz 4.11 if that matters, as Daz 4.12 will not engage the gpu for renders. Well actually it does, but then disengages if the memory needed is over like 800 mb (on an 8 GB card that runs 4.11 renders like a dream).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>What I am trying to do is organize my assets in a way that makes sense to me.<br />
<br />
SO I create a category, and then add assests to that category by finding it in &quot;Daz Studio Formats &gt; My DAZ 3D Library&quot;<br />
From there I right click on the asset folder and select &quot;Create Category From &gt; Selected Folder and SubFolders<br />
<br />
So for the sake of argument, I have now taken the asset &quot;old betty&quot; and put a virtual copy of it in my newly created Custom Catagory &quot;Old Crones&quot;.<br />
<br />
Now here is where it gets tricky.<br />
DAZ sometimes puts the full Character Icon in the Genesis 8 Female CHARACTERS Folder, so if I want to add &quot;old betty&quot; in her entirety, I won&#39;t find that in the &quot;Old Betty&quot; that I just created in my Custom Categories.&nbsp; SO.... I go back to my My DAZ 3D Library, Drill down to Genesis 8 Female &gt; Characters, and drag and drop the Old Betty.duf.png Icon into my Custom Category folder.....<br />
<br />
This works 98% of the time, the other 2%, it creates TWO copies of that ICON in the Custom Category folder...<br />
<br />
I really only want ONE copy, to reduce the clutter... if I delete ONE of them, both are gone.<br />
<br />
Any help/Suggestions?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve used the geometry editor a few times. I assumed that it was modifying the asset *in my render* and no&nbsp;more. But I saw today that it was modifying the asset in my library.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I wanted to make a shoe dissapear (but only one, not the pair), so I created a surface with the geometry editor, and gave it an opacity of 0% . But when I tried to load again this pair of shoes, I saw that the one I had modified didn&#39;t have any texture anymore. The asset itself has apparently been permanently modified.&nbsp;</p>

<p>How do I modify the geometry of an item *only for a specific render* without it modifying the asset itself? Thanks in advance, I hope that my question is clear.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I am building a new Scenario and I have now the problem, that my iray preview dont wanna work if I wanna check my boy.</p>

<p>I had a idea what the problem could be... and yepp now I found it, its one decal.</p>

<p>So... why is the one decal making problems to give a irray preview?</p>

<p>I changed now one decal priority to 1, both hat it to 0, so maybe the engine get problems when 2 decals have the same priority?</p>

<p>It is still not 100% working :/</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I use the Geometry Editor on anything, usually clothes,&nbsp;the file size bloats up tremendously. For example, deleting some polygons caused one&nbsp;clothing item to go from 22K to over 14MB!</p>

<p>Whether this affects my system&#39;s performance or not, it seems grossly inefficient&mdash;the file size should go down, not up&mdash;and wastes disc space. I&#39;m wondering if there&#39;s an additional step I&#39;m missing, or some other way to prevent extreme file size bloat. I&#39;m not a 3D modeller, so any solution would have to be suitable for dummies (e.g. me).</p>

<p>Any advice would be aprreciated.</p>

<p><span>I want to use&nbsp;</span><span>3ds</span><span>&nbsp;Max to pose a Genesis 2 figure. I exported the character to&nbsp;</span><span>FBX</span><span>&nbsp;from&nbsp;</span><span>Daz</span><span>, and then I imported it to Max. Everything looks fine, except the bone orientations. When I bend a bone in Max, it bends in&nbsp;a different angle than in&nbsp;</span><span>Daz</span><span>.</span></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello people :) I&#39;m starting to use this software and although I&#39;m enjoying experimenting with it, I kinda need help and the Tech support have a lot of work so if some one here has any advice it will be very welcomed.</p>

<p>I&#39;m moving all my files into an external drive cause of space and need help in gettin&nbsp;all the folders in propper order and help my OCD ease up, the library folder ended up with data in 3 diferent sub folders and in other 3 sub folders I have the same info &nbsp;and it&#39;s all there but &nbsp;some times a window pops up that X file can&#39;t be found (and I easily find it in a quick folder search at the same folder where DAZ is supposedly looking)..... basically looks like the room of a messy teenager after a month of quarantine&nbsp;and no parents in sight.... This is mostly cause I had to do some manual installs when sites like renderosity didn&#39;t come along with the installer file and I had to go manual.&nbsp;<br />
basically need advice on wich files should go where, if I can merge &quot;my library&quot; with &quot;my daz3d library&quot; do I need a content folder in my library with everything I had in the &quot;my library&quot; folder duplicated?? I&#39;m almost to the point of deleting everything and re install it all over again :S&nbsp;<br />

Having some issue with eyes. First of all, this isn&#39;t the classic black sclera issue.<br />
<br />
My characters eyes are turning very dark when light is pointing towards them. The character is a G3 converted to G8. I&#39;ve tried using different eye textures, most behave the same way (both G3 and G8 textures have been tried.)<br />
<br />
This is what the character should look like:</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried playing around with eye settings, but I&#39;m afraid this is not my forte whatsover. The only thing I have been able to do to achieve a reasonable result is change the cutout opacity of&nbsp; the cornea to 0.5 (was original at 1.0). Gives this result:</p>

since yesterday I want to work with female figures in DAZ3D for the first time.<br />
If I pull the &quot;iclone-facekey&quot; on the head of a male figure, I have 80 morphs in my timeline - as it should be.<br />
Since yesterday I try to give my female figure her &quot;iclone-facekey&quot; morphs too. Unfortunately there are only 10 morphs arriving in her timeline.</p>

<p>is that a bug or why isn&#39;t this working?</p>

<p>New to Daz and Blender so double trouble I guess! ;) I&#39;ve uploaded a couple of screenshots of what happens when I import my posed Daz figure into Blender as FBX. The idea is to get the pose close in Daz with the Power Pose tool - import into Blender and be able to tweak the bones to finalize the pose. But... something is going very wrong with the import, or export? Basically default FBX export settings in Daz. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>How do I save a prop &amp; its current parent?</p>

<p><strong>edit</strong>: I figured it out</p>

<p>1. Click the parented prop.<br />
2. File-&gt; Save As -&gt; SupportAsset -&gt; Figure/Prop Assets<br />
3. On the new screen, make sure smart parenting is selected. I left everything else at default.<br />
4. It gets saved under DAZ --&gt; Figures, in the content library.</p>

<p><em>I have a magazine parented to Genesis 8&#39;s left hand.&nbsp; Now I want to save the magazine in such a way, where in the future I can double click the magazine, and it auto parents to Genesis 8&#39;s left hand exactly how I saved it.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p><em>I can&#39;t seem to figure this one out.</em></p>

<p><em>If I save the magazine as a scene subset, it automatically saves Genesis 8 and the magazine, which is not what I want.&nbsp;</em></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am using DAZ 3D 32bit so I can use the lip sync capability.&nbsp; Is there a setting somewhere that can adjust the strength of the morphs being used?&nbsp; It almost looks like they are going at about 110% strength.&nbsp; I am using a Genesis 3 config file with a Genesis 8 character.&nbsp; I then export the animation out to FBX and import into Cinema 4D.&nbsp; The strength of the morphs are greatly increased during this process as well.</p>

<p>I am willing to try just about anything to get this to work.&nbsp; I can&#39;t use a Genesis 3 character as I am using the Face Transfer utility which only uses Genesis 8 characters.&nbsp; Does anyone know if there is a Genesis 8 DMC file for lip syncing or how I could modify the Genesis 3 file to work with Genesis 8.</p>

in these pics where the red arrows point is where d-deformers were used to get rid poke-throughs on the coats.</p>

<p>when i created the deformers they did not show up the parameters tab, had to click range rings. but the base did not show up.</p>

<p>at time the base and all move with actor, other times like shown in daz3d view window they are left behind(gf1 was moved back and gm1 was added but gf1 d-formers were left behind).</p>

<p>how does one select d-former base to move it?<br />
how does one move all parts of d-former with actor(when needed)?</p>

<p>I recently got a new computer, and I thought things would be fine as my content was on an external drive and I still had access to the old Windows drive (Win7 versus Win10 now). The old system drive is in the new machine (I&#39;d hoped I&#39;d be able to reuse it) so I don&#39;t have the old system actually up and running, it&#39;s possible that I could remove the drive and put it back in the old machine but that&#39;s something I&#39;d rather not have to do.</p>

<p>In any case scenes will not load correctly, with lots of missing textures (it asks on load to locate textures, even though the paths are the same as before) and the characters appearing white and blocky, kinda like an untextured Minecraft character -- I&#39;m sure I&#39;ve had this last problem before but I can&#39;t remember how I fixed it before. It&#39;s worth noting that all the scenes are in the modern .duf format, I gave up on trying to load really old scenes since DS4.5 or so.</p>

<p>What I&#39;ve tried so far:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Copy data from the old Windows drive for DIM and Daz Studio (from /users/[name]/appdata/roaming, the DIM data was in &#39;public&#39;)</li>
	<li>Reinstall Genesis [whatever] Starter Essentials and morphs</li>
	<li>Copy data from /Program Files/DAZ 3D/ on the old drive to the Win10 install</li>
</ul>

<p>This doesn&#39;t seem to have fixed it. The content is on the same drive, same letter, same path and everything, but scenes are not loading right. I&#39;m sure I&#39;m overlooking something or have made a mistake somewhere but I can&#39;t figure out what&#39;s wrong.</p>

<p>Also, a problem which I was experiencing on the old system has reoccured. Upon launching either the release version or beta of Daz Studio, it says it can&#39;t connect to the CMS. On the old setup this was a long standing problem with the release version but for whatever reason it worked fine with the beta.</p>

<p>I&#39;m at my wit&#39;s end trying to get this working, I specifically built this new PC so it would blast through Iray renders and now I can&#39;t seem to access any of my scenes that I&#39;ve spent hours working on. I would rather not have to reinstall all my content as I have literally thousands of items on my account and it would take a very long time to redownload it all.</p>

<p>I would be incredibly grateful for anyone who can help me get Daz Studio up and running again and let me access my old scenes. I feel like I&#39;ve been completely inept and probably messed something up somewhere, but I&#39;m pulling my hair out trying to work out what&#39;s the matter. I just want to get back to art!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I`m trying to make JCM with MD. I&#39;m doing&nbsp;pJCMAbdomenFwd_35 and with only this one morph it looked great, but in any other position it has&nbsp;ugly poke through.</p>

<p>I wached tutorials, but everyone explain how to do one hand morph or one leg in pants, but no one explain how to make skirt with both legs used.</p>

<p>Can anyone pls&nbsp;help?&nbsp;or nudge me in right direction? Is it&nbsp;even posible at all?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Daz studio is showing missing files regarding a few things, but specifically the default resources for Daz 4.9+ for me. I&#39;ve tried reimporting metadata and searching directories for new files. However I&#39;m at a loss. The content directories are set up correctly in daz studio, as well almost all the content I have isn&#39;t having this issue.<br />
<br />
I did reinstall my entire directory not too long ago, and likely didn&#39;t notice this issue until now. Though I&#39;m not sure if this is the cause.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Probably a stupid question but I&#39;m flummoxed. I want to hide a wall in a particular object and for some reason when I click the EYE symbol nothing happens and I can&#39;t make it invisible (see attached). Is there a lock that prevents hiding objects that I&#39;m not aware of? THANKS</p>
