      <description><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday I bought the Vintage Summer clothing for the G8 female:</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>All the content&nbsp; folder from the product went into the right folders data, character, support and textures ( I double check to make sure and don&#39;t blindly unzip to folders). At any rate I went to load the clothes to my figure and ran across the error pictured in the attached image. This happens with every article of clothing that came with the product.</p>

<p>I removed all the all the content from said folders and then manually placed each content folder into the correct folders. Went back tried the clothing again and the same issue came up.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve put a ticket in yesterday which I have no problem waiting on. I just wanted to know if anyone else ran across this issue with the same product.</p>

<p>I have decided to try out some of the dForce hair on my figures today.&nbsp; I have the dForce hair for Darcy 8.</p>

<p>However, selecting it and putting it into a render seems to yeild a bald head.&nbsp;&nbsp; I also select the dforce hair and tried to put it in a simulation and that also yeilds...a bald head.&nbsp; I followed this tutorial here:</p>

<p>So it does seem that the video is leaving something out that I have to do first.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve stuck with Mojave because I&#39;ve invested far too much money (and it&#39;s a great deal of money) to lose access to that content only to find that Studio won&#39;t work well or at all without OpenGL in Mac&#39;s Catalina OS. I would like some sort of <em><strong>official</strong></em> answer from DAZ. Will Apple&#39;s Metal graphics language be supported by Studio? I&#39;m noticing some stability issues with Mohave, frequent system crashes since Catalina was released, and I need to upgrade. These crashes are becoming far more frequent.</p>

<p>What&#39;s the answer DAZ? You&#39;ve gotten a whole lot of money from me over the years and you owe me and every one of your Mac customers an answer. WILL METAL BE SUPPORTED?</p>

<p>And I appreciate attempts by the Studio user communithy to answer this question BUT THAT&#39;S NOT GOOD ENOUGH and this needs an <em><strong>OFFICIAL </strong></em>response from DAZ directly.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey guys... i did something (maybe stupid... don&#39;t know). I had no space at my C-drive so i had to move the content libraries to another disk. Doing that (and fixing all the paths to the new folders) made some content not being able to load (especially the manually installed content) and although I reinstalled some of the content, still DS cannot find some files (starting with &quot;data&quot; or &quot;runtime&quot;). So i decided to reinstall it all to the new SSD. still it can&#39;t find anything.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Do I need to do a clean uninstall (4.12 64bit) and how can i do this?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there any other solution to this problem? and how should i setup my DIM to install the program in another location other than c:program files?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ok, lets start with Focal Length.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been trying to combine a DAZ render without background with a background &#39;rendered&#39; in Unreal Engine 4. For that and to get a feeling for setting up identical cameras I&#39;ve placed a Genesis 8 Figure on a Plane and a camera in 5m distance and a height of 85cm with a Frame Width of 36mm (35mm Still Photocam) and a Focal Length of 50mm. I did the same in UE4 but the results were frustratingly different. Then I started a 3rd try in Cinema 4d and came up with even a different result.</p>

<p>Now I wondered if someone had a similar problem and probably know what I&#39;m doing wrong. In the end all 3 Softwares are used for real world problems and in productions so I can&#39;t believe that they are simply just delivering wrong results.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>and now about the Aperture.</p>

<p>When I do DOF pictures until now I was setting up DOF by placing a kind of ruler below the object where I want the DOF. Calculate the DOF size with an Aperture / DOF Calculator and setup the right DOF with the top view in DAZ. As soon as the Camera is set up I add the necessary angles and positions and have the hopefully realworld DOF for my 1:2.8 or 1:4 aperture lens. The thing is now, is there a way to convert the Aperture to the Daz F-Stop value without going through this tedious process of measuring out the DOF in topview?</p>

<p>And yes, this has been asked already and answered, but I used search all over and couldn&#39;t find anything that really helped me. So please if you know where this was answered already please provide me with a link than just the simple answer to use the search function, because I did that already.</p>

<p>Having a crack at making a garment for the first time.&nbsp; Testing as I build and getting this problem I have not seen before when I sub-divide the garment surfaces.</p>

<p>First attachment is the non sub divided view.&nbsp; Looking blocky but no&nbsp;sign of the issue.</p>

<p>Second attachment shows what it looks like when I convert to SubD.</p>

<p>The noise shows in IRAY and wire and texture shaded preview.</p>

<p>Nothing I change with the materials changes the result.</p>

<p>Small change depending on the sub division level but the problem is always there. Just the prominence that changes.</p>

<p>Working in beta version 4.12.1.76 but checked and same issue in 4.12.0.86.</p>

<p>Any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>SOLVED EDIT:</strong>&nbsp;This problem has been resolved. When the surface selection tool is selected, it breaks the frame selected functionality. Switch the tool to something else like translation or rotation.</p>

<p>I tried deleting everything in the scene, then made a new sphere primitive. I click the sphere, hit frame selected, and it zooms WAY OUT. Something is broken in my scene I think.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ever since I transferred everything into the new iMac, my Daz3D has been off kilter. For one, I keep getting the PostgreSQL CMS error. No matter what I do to try to direct Daz3D to the folder where it&#39;s at, it never EVER applies it. It just reverts back. I can&#39;t search in the content library because if I type ANYTHING in the search engine the app automatically crashes. I can&#39;t animate anything in Daz3D, and my pwEffect/Catch/Ghost shaders aren&#39;t working; some characters I created require said apps to actually look right. This bit might actually be fixable; for example, I noticed in the History that it can&#39;t find &quot;pwEffectDisplace,&quot; so it just goes to &quot;null&quot; instead. I found &quot;pwEffectDisplace.sdl&quot; and it&#39;s where it should be, so where does Daz3D expect it to be in.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Other than these glitches Daz3D can still render just fine. For the record I primarily render in 3Delight, though one of the reasons I got a new compy was so that I could be able to render in Iray, too. I want to mix and match both render engines depending on what I want, as well as improve my animation skills. But with Daz3D as buggy as it is right now, I can&#39;t do any of that.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Can anyone help me to get Daz3D back up and running to its maximum potential? For the record I&#39;m using both the standard and the public build; another thing wrong with it is that I can&#39;t manually select textures in the standard version, which is why I downloaded the public build as it can do that just fine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though I&#39;m wondering if having two different Daz3Ds is causing all of these issues to begin with. :/&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can&#39;t figure out if this is a bug, some sort of calcualation error, or what.</p>

<p>Any time I copy/paste a series of more than 2 key frames in a row, the TCB interpolation blows up, as you can see in the image below.&nbsp; (In the image, the three initial keys were copy pasted in reverse sequence, but the same issue regardless of sequence.)</p>

<p>The issue is manageable, because if I select the affected keys, set them to Linear, then back to TCB, the curves return to normal, but this is still something that I would think shouldn&#39;t occur in the first place.</p>

<p>If this is indeed a bug and not the result of something I haven&#39;t thought of, please let me know and I&#39;ll open a ticket with tech support.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The Timeline hierarchy is extremely cumbersome to navigate when trying to select a property for editing the f-curves or property-level keyframes.&nbsp; The Properties dropdown is a&nbsp;matryoshka doll of groups.</p>

<p>Say you wish to edit just the Side-Side of the left foot.&nbsp; Sure, clicking the left foot in the viewport shifts the Timeline focus to the left foot root, but then you still need 6 (!) additional clicks to go Left Foot&gt;Properties&gt;General&gt;Transforms&gt;Rotation&gt;Side-Side.</p>

<p>When the vast majority of animation is probably done to transform properties, this seems a little overkill.</p>

<p>Is there any way to filter out the group nesting of properties in the timeline so that clicking the Properties dropdown of, say, Left Foot, will show only &quot;Bend, Side-Side, Twist, Visible in Render, Cast Shadows&quot; and not all the nested groups?</p>

<p>Once I have the item exported, how do you&nbsp;Show All again so you don&#39;t have to click, click, click, click, click, click,&nbsp;click, click, click,&nbsp;click, click, click,... to make everything visible again?</p>

<p>2) Or, alternately, is there a way to export the selected item <em>without</em> hiding everything else? When I tried, it exported everything in the scene, not just the selected item. I couldn&#39;t see any options in the Scene Dropdown or the OBJ Export Options to select only the one item.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Usually when I load a prop, the origin point for Rotate/Translate/Scale operations is close to the item so that when you see it in the Viewport, you can also see the arrows (so you can grab them and move&nbsp;them).</p>

<p>Today I loaded a prop where the origin for the arrows is WAY far from the actual item. I have to zoom far far out to find it and move it, which is cumbersone, so I end up trying to use sliders, but that&#39;&#39;s not good either&nbsp;because you have to constantly zoom in and out and in and out to see if it&#39;s right and then adjust, see if it&#39;s right...</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a simple way to modify this origin point so it&#39;s closer to the actual prop?</p>

I am using Moutainscapes Backdrops MS01 Large and the accompanying Water Plane but the water plain appears only as a pale blue plane, no water. <p>I&#39;ve ran into an issue with clothing when exporting an FBX from Daz into Cinema 4d. It&#39;s much easier if I just show you the problem with screenshots, which I&#39;ve attached below. As you can see, the first screenshot is how the clothing looks in Daz and on the right it&#39;s how it looks when imported into Cinema 4d. Completely broken and not matching the character. It&#39;s a simulated piece of clothing so maybe that is the issue? Because I don&#39;t recall having a similar issue before when I used normal clothing on characters.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried probably every different export setting you could try and whatever I do it still comes in broken. Am I missing something here?</p>

<p>I&#39;m getting a message about missing files on several products when I load them.</p>

<p>This for example:</p>

<code>/data/DAZ 3D/NVIDIA MDL Examples/Cast Iron/Cast Iron.dsf</code></pre>

<p>I checked the <strong>data</strong> folder and I don&#39;t have <strong>NVIDIA MDL Examples</strong> in the <strong>DAZ 3D</strong> directory at all.</p>

<p>Why don&#39;t I have those irai files and is there a way to get them?</p>

<p>I have the Itsy Bitsy Bundle :</p>

<p>and I love the terry shader (because I love fluff stuff).</p>

<p>But I need your help, because I use that much times, so I need to learn how to use it better.</p>

<p>I love to sue the bump-shader on clothes like a Pyjama or underpants to make them soft for a baby :)</p>

<p>See attachment, the problem is, that the shader works with displacement strenght, and for some reason creates it an invisible gap.</p>

<p>So, how can I use it and adjust it for better work and is it possible to create a new &quot;Terry&quot; Preset with those new\better options? I don&#39;t know when that preset can be used good... because everything is flying.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having issues with skullcaps appearing REALLY bright against the forehead when using volumetric atmospheres. When there is no volume (no translucent materials between the camera and the figure) the skullcap looks normal. However, when translucent fog is added, suddenly the skullcaps look super bright -- almost as though they are emitting light. This happens even when I turn the entire opacity of the cap to 0. I even tried applying the base 3Delight shader to the cap, just to make sure there wasn&#39;t a weird Iray setting I missed. I have two figures in the same scene and both figures are having this happen. Oddly, the volumetric atmosphere is also making the sclera and irises of the figures glow (which, lol, I kind of like!) There must be something going on with the skin settings, but I don&#39;t even know where to start. Help?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am in the process of converting the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-circular-skywalk">Sci-Fi Circular SkyWalk</a> from 3dlight to Iray to use in a scene, any advice from experience? :D</p>

<p>I&#39;ve run&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-3delight-to-iray-converter">RSSY 3Delight to Iray Converter</a> on it, and other than a couple of minor mistakes its made, most of it has turned out well so far.&nbsp; On part of the short little anteroom where the doorwars are, for instance, came out chrome-reflective, while the rest of it didn&#39;t, but it was a simple&nbsp;matter to select one of the other metal surfaces in there, copy the surface, and paste that surface onto the part that went all chrome, so that it was back to consistent-looking again.&nbsp; The surface&nbsp;that went shiney chrome was called Metal, so I guess the script decided &quot;Oh, that&#39;s supposed to be shiney!&quot; and made it shiney.&nbsp; 3DLight renders (of the non-converted version of the set) don&#39;t show that area as shiney-chrome, so changing out that one surface to match the other same-textures surfaces was the right move for it.</p>

<p>The only other shader issue I&#39;ve run into is those curving, tubular light fixture thingies along the floor in the main corridor.&nbsp; The iray converter makes the glass part of those go opaque.&nbsp; Pretty simple matter to go through and simply replace all the glass surfaces on those with some other glass shader, but I&#39;m wondering if someone else has done this already and can tell me which glass shader they were most satisfied with, or if there&#39;s a simple way to tweak the existing glass shader settings on these so they go back to being see-through again.</p>

<p>The remaining issue is, the light sconses in the doorways are now dark as sin, and the spotlights in there&nbsp;that are clearly meant to create a little&nbsp;splash of light from them onto the walls and floor&nbsp;don&#39;t seem to be doing anything in iray render.&nbsp; And I&#39;m guessing the light hotspots in those tubular lighting thingies probably aren&#39;t going to be rendering much light effects for me either, once I&#39;ve tweaked the glass in them.&nbsp; I was expecting the converter script to adjust the luminances and such on those spotlights and pointlights but... nope, either I accidently turned that converter option off in the script, or it didn&#39;t up the lumens enough.</p>

<p>Naturally I&#39;m going to have to lose (hide) the fake sky surround thingy, since those don&#39;t work right in iray anyway, but I&#39;ve already selected an appropriate HDRI to use in the later renders.</p>

<p>There may be other minor things I might have missed here or there.</p>

<p>So, anyone else here converted this set over?&nbsp; What was your experience with doing that?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just purchased&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/riversoft-art">RiverSoft Art</a>&nbsp;clothing converter and it does not seem to be converting properly at all.</p>

<p>At first I just selected the whole Gen 3 clothing directory and let it run into a new seperate clothing directory but none of the outfits i checked worked.</p>

<p>So then i deleted the new clothing directory and&nbsp;tried very simple scenario with Gen 8 female and Gen 3 Dark Storm Outfit and tried converting and agsan everything seems to be off.</p>

<p>Any ideas what is wrong?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I just tried Commander Hair for Genesis 8 (). I like it very much, but I have a weird issue with it. On some darker figure skins you see some noise on the forehead of the figure. See attached pictures. (BTW. Can I somehow put an attached pic into the post?)</p>

<p>If you zoom in very much so you get the details, you see the effect during rendering but it disappears at the end of the rendering. But rendering time increase very much. If zoom out, so that you see about half of the figure (typical portrait), rendering is much quicker but the effect stays until the final render.</p>

<p>If you switch render mode to interactive, the noisy area becomes a dark green surface.</p>

<p>I played around with the material settings but to no avail. Any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Just purchased Highlands here at DAZ. Beautiful environment. But once loaded, my workflow slows to a crawl. Just selecting the forearm of a G8 model takes five seconds, with preview set to lit wireframe!. What can I do to speed up the workflow. Sure I can clothe and pose first then merge the scenes later, but I still have to adjust the characters&#39; positions on uneven terrain. Even that takes a mind-numbingly long time.</p>

<p>I am running a good rig, Win 10, 4-Core i7 3.5Ghz, 32GB RAM, 1080TI, M.2 drive on the PCI bus.</p>

<p>Help!</p>
