      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi! I&#39;m using DAZStudio for many years but for my surprise everytime I try to apply an afro hair to any of my characters I see a big gray cube on the head of the character. But also if I try to render no hair is shown. Here is my screenshot. I guess is a hardware issue but I&#39;m using a Quadro 2000 (I know is old). Any of you know a solution?</p>

<p>See attachment, I have this problem sometimes at my chars, but I have really problems to fix this hair problem.</p>

<p>When I push it in in the front, then it comes out in the back :(</p>

<p>Any adivse for me?</p>

<p>Happens with different hairs, at diff. chars, Adult and Child.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve begun working in G8 Male. And for the most part all my workflows are working from G3 to G8...</p>

<p>But this one is giving me a headache. This was not an issue in G3. When the knee is fully bent the back of the pant leg is pushing through the front. I know the model&#39;s calf is intersecting with the hamstring. This leaves the pants no place to go. so they wrap the front leg. I&#39;ve tried a push modifier that didn&#39;t work. I&#39;ve tried to do JCMs but that made this worse. It&#39;s not a skin poke-through. And not even sure what this is called.</p>

<p>I&#39;m attaching an image.</p>

<p><strong>any information would be helpful... thank you in advance</strong></p>

<p>Clearly, it has something to do with the &#39;Wrong node for joint parameter on line 195/213&#39;, but what exactly, I&#39;m not sure.&nbsp;The funny thing is that Boo-regard, another LLF Plushie I bought, loads up just fine and with no issues. I don&#39;t think it&#39;s worth it to get a refund (especially since Heff was only 0.32 cents in the BYOB), so I&#39;d like to figure out what the issue is and how to solve it, if I can.</p>

<p>Oh yeah... Daz Studio 4.12 Beta, macOSX Mojave 14.14.5, AMD Radeon R9 M380 2 GB, 32GB RAM.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi&nbsp;everyone. A few day ago I noticed a little problem on the eyes of the Genesis 8 Female default figure.&nbsp; A little gap between the eyeballs and the lower eyelids that I could not explain.&nbsp; If I move&nbsp;the eyes -0.20 down along the Y Axis the gap is almost filled.</p>

<p>The eyelashes too seem&nbsp;to be different.&nbsp; A little glow along&nbsp;the lower eyelid edge has appeared looking like a tear before falling or a watery inflamed pink eye.</p>

<p>The question is: how may be occurred this? I never saved changes over the default figure. I have uninstalled the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials and manually deleted the &quot;Genesis 8 Basic Female.duf&quot;.&nbsp; Reinstalled everything back but with no solution.&nbsp; I read the log and nothing is apparently warned.</p>

<p>Does anybody know how can I have back the default figure?</p>

<p>I tried to be as short as possible in my title but I will explain here in details.</p>

<p>I am working with a&nbsp;Genesis 8 female that I Tposed. I would like to export all the morphs for the head in order to animate in Cinema 4D.</p>

<p>I know I have to add the Morph rule &quot;head export&quot; in FBX export settings, it is working great and I can find back my morphs in Cinema.</p>

<p>My problem is that it generates a morph tag for each geometry elements, including the eyelashes...</p>

<p>I don&#39;t get why the eyelashes is a separated element from the head but it seems counter productive to have to keyframe both eyes and then eyelashes to animate a &quot;eyes closed&quot; morph. It makes things so much more annoying and time consuming.</p>

<p>I saw 2 or 3 threads on the forum where people have the similar issue, but every time no solutions were provided. Note that I am not talking how to export the eyelashes, I know I have to thick the &quot;merge Clothing into Figure Skeleton&quot;.</p>

<h3><strong>Basically, is there a way to combine eyelashes and head morphs so that it come with only one track of blendshapes in Cinema 4D ?</strong></h3>

<p>Unfortunately the original data that gets downloaded, before it gets installed is still on my main drive, which I am trying to not overflow with Daz data.</p>

<p>It may sound strange the issue i&#39;m facing with. Many times, while rendering high loaded scenes, the result comes like the following images. I see only the bottom couple of line pixels are rendered when this happens. Also i have found a solution for this on my own. After i initiliaze render, i manually slide down to the bottom pixels in render window and wait there till the iterations start. Then, render starts correctly. Yeah sound weird. I wonder what may this problem be related to ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It&rsquo;s useful to have several versions of Daz Studio available for testing products I want to release.</p>

<p>I understand that Daz Studio will only allow one version from the beta channel and one from the full release channel per operating system instance.</p>

<p>And when I upgrade one of those, it wipes out the prior version.</p>

<p>So I want to archive the prior versions before upgrading, just in case I need to re-install it for testing and what-not.</p>

<p>So where are the installer files so I can archive them?</p>

<p>I have a question; I did a morph(just the face) for a genesis 8 female in brush and then brought back the morph, everything works correctly at first glance. morph from 0 to 100, nothing else in the body changes, everything looks fine.</p>

<p>but then when i put poses, the fingers of my character get all messed up when i have my morph set to 100. How can i fix this? I&#39;m pretty certain my morph doesn&#39;t move any verts in the fingers at all.</p>

Browsed through the forum and (tried) to use the search function for this as I&#39;m 100% certain someone at some point has had this issue but I&#39;m coming up empty, if anyone knows of a thread dealing with this I&#39;d love to know.<br />
Right, I&#39;ve modelled a... let&#39;s called it an under developed motorcycle suit to stay pg-13, and I&#39;m having an issue when I use the transfer utility.<br />
Here&#39;s what a section of it looks like when brought in and <em>not</em> transfered just a straight prop:<br />

All good, that&#39;s what it <em>should </em>look like.<br />
When I use the transfer utility:<br />

I&#39;ve tried as many different combinations of item shapes and projection templates as I could think of and always the same result. The clothing was modelled using Marvelous Designer with the G8F figure as the avatar and it&#39;s being fitted to an un-morphed un-posed G8F.<br />
I tried tweaking the weight map but with it not being posed there&#39;s nothing actually <em>doing</em> anything yet. I&#39;m really not sure what&#39;s causing it to clip with the figure, it does this on the right hand side of the torso (figure perspective) on the waist line (shown) and behind the thighs, everywhere else seems to be good.<br />
I assume I&#39;m doing something wrong here but I have no idea what, my only suggestion to myself is to export it out and either create a morph that brings out those areas or create a new piece of clothing with those areas expanded but that sounds like a really jank solution.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to delete &quot;grasp&quot; keys from the timeline but they just won&#39;t go away.&nbsp; They&#39;re leaves in the tree, so as far as I can see have no dependencies.&nbsp; I set them (they weren&#39;t set by another control, I don&#39;t think).&nbsp; Can someone give me a clue please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Occasionally i will create a large scene in which the Iray viewport preview will stop working after a while.&nbsp; Even after i hide most assets, restart daz, etc.</p>

<p>As i rotate the camera, i can see the iray preview start to render as a pixelated image. However as soon as i stop rotating the camera, it goes back to a smooth-shaded view.</p>

<p>The Iray preview will have worked fine up until that point.</p>

<p>Is there way to fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I wanna renovate my Attic and wanna remove the old wood parts.</p>

<p>But when I delete the parts, does my window implode/explode whatever... goes crazy!</p>

<p>Hiding the parts is fine, but it will reload everytime, when I reload the scene, I can (and do) hide it as seperate surface, but I also know hiding with Opac. on value 0 does not save render speed, and if I dont need that part I would like if I can hide it.</p>

<p>So... why in the Name of the Holy cow, does my window explode? &gt;_&lt;</p>

<p>Most of my products are around the Michael / Victoria 4 era.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been looking for body&nbsp;morphs to allow Genesis 8 to match Michael 4, but have not found what I&#39;m seeking.</p>

<p>My goal is to conform my existing Michael / Victoria 4 skeletons to Genesis 8 as it seems I am unable to install the Michael 4 base (it&#39;s in my Content Library window, but will not install).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Question not mecessarily specific to but in dealing with the outfit<br />
<strong>Y&#39;vas Outfit for Genesis 8 Female</strong> by&nbsp;<strong>Aeon Soul</strong></p>

<p>I am trying to attach pieces to the belt and am trying to understand how to identify which bit connects to which slot. From the image below you can see there are a dozen (identical ?) buttons and each seemingly can be added to go into a different belt slot. Is there any way to tell which one goes into which slot? As I am not a Daz expert it is entirely possible I am approaching this entirely wrong and if that&#39;s the case if someone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful for the knowledge.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also, Is there some way to directly contact the artists who have created things when questions such as this pop up?&nbsp;<br />
That might be a rather bad idea in hindsight....</p>

<p>Hopefully, Clacydarch will spot this, or someone who&#39;s already purchased.&nbsp; I have a couple of pre-buy questions:</p>

	<li>Is the cityscape baked into the windows?&nbsp; I&#39;m hoping so, because that&#39;s some terrific work.&nbsp; And,</li>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Many of the clothing items look like Spandex. They cling to the body. This is okay for leotards and body suits but looks bizarre on a business suit and most other items.</p>

<p>Is there a combination of settings that will improve the look of the fabric?</p>

<ul>
	<li>Is there a way to stiffen the fabric so it looks like cotton or denim instead of Spandex?</li>
	<li>Is there a way to reduce&nbsp;the cling so that it looks like&nbsp;normal gravity&nbsp;is pulling down the clothing so it&nbsp;hugs only the parts of the body on the upper surfaces and not on the lower surfaces where it should hang rather than cling?</li>
</ul>

<p>Can either of these&nbsp;be done within DS without having to export, adjust, and re-import?</p>

<p>I set up this lighting months ago but I really like the drama I get with it. Strangley though when it&#39;s not completed rendering you get this strange discrpancy from one side to the other.&nbsp;</p>

How can I see all?&nbsp; It&#39;s fine when I filter by context, but not when I want to see the rest. And the pose starts with H. I&#39;m assuming there is a limit of 1,200 poses even after selecting a category such as &quot;Standing&quot;, although I don&#39;t think I have that many. Thank you.</p>

<p><big><strong>@ Understanding the difference between HD-Addon morphs&nbsp;and maps and their usage</strong></big></p>

<p>The basics:</p>

<p><strong>HD morph:</strong></p>

<p>&nbsp;High Resolution. Used for objects clearly visible in the foreground of your image</p>

<p>Accurate physically calculated&nbsp;shadows are cast, works great with Physically based rendering (PBR).</p>

<p><span>For the best result dial in&nbsp;exactly the same (render)&nbsp;SubDivision level for the morph as it was created for.</span></p>

<p><span>You can improve system performance by adjusting the (render) subdivision to a&nbsp;lower level but then you will see less detail.</span></p>

<p>Allows export&nbsp;the model&nbsp;as .obj&nbsp; . at the highest SubD level to use or&nbsp;render in 3rd party software.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Displacement map</strong></p>

<p>High Resolution. Used for objects clearly visible in the foreground of your image</p>

<p>Accurate physically calculated&nbsp;shadows are cast. Looks great in PBR but you need to set it up properly.</p>

<p>There are different types of displacement, more advanced ones like vector displacement are not yet supported by DS or Iray</p>

<p>There are different types of maps&nbsp;(0 =&nbsp;black or mid grey).&nbsp;&nbsp;Render engines feature adjustment sliders to make use of all of them</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Bump map</strong></p>

<p>Low resolution. Used for objects in the background of the image</p>

<p>Simulated simplified shadows can be detected in directional light situations. <em>(clothing structure may&nbsp;look fake etc)</em></p>

<p>Versatile: Bump maps can be added to the displacement slot and with the help of adjustment sliders look great also in BPR</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Normal map</strong></p>

<p>Low resolution. Used for objects in the background of the image</p>

<p>Simulated simplified&nbsp;shadows can be detected in directional light situations. <em>(clothing structure may&nbsp;look fake etc)</em></p>

<p>There are different types of normal maps designed by different software for different render engines.</p>

<p>Render engines may&nbsp;not feature sliders to quickly adjust normal maps.</p>

I&#39;m getting this message: &quot;Could not open file : /People/Genesis 8 Male/Genesis 8 Basic Male.duf File does not exist.&quot; It gives me the same kind of message when I try to open G8 female too. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials and that didn&#39;t fix it, so then I did another uninstall-reinstall of DS and I&#39;m still getting the same message.</p>

<p>My problem is, if I use my Shader preset, it streches so ugly, so I would want to split it in 1/4 parts, 2 on each side.</p>

<p>Atm is each side 1 big &quot;plane&quot;.</p>

<p>but making it into a half plane would be helpful, I could try tiling, but I dont think it would be nice.</p>
