      <description><![CDATA[<p>Forgive me if this has already been answered. The Daz search engine is hard to navigate through. I got the GenX plugins over the holidays and just now trying to use them. Following the steps I&#39;ve seen and read, I export my Genesis figure to a cr2 file. However, when I select &quot;Load Figure&quot; and open the cr2 file, I get a &quot;Poser figure not supported error.&quot; At first, I thought maybe it was the custom morphs that prevented them from being suported. Just for the sake of saying I tried, I attempted to load some base figures by Daz like Lee 6, Freak 5, and Michaels 5 &amp; 6. They all&nbsp;gave me the same error message.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What I am trying to accomplish is to bring some of my old custom Genesis and G2M figures to G3M without having to rebuild them from scratch. What am I missing or doing wrong?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I guess there&#39;s a known issue that when you change Victoria 8&#39;s makeup in Daz, her face looks the same in the editor and the makeup is only visible in the render (discussed here&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/176111/victoria-8-makeup-not-changing">https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/176111/victoria-8-makeup-not-changing</a>).</p>

<p>However, I think this might be related to another issue which is more than just an inconvenience.&nbsp; When I export the basic Victoria 8 character as an FBX, the makeup does not get exported with the other textures.&nbsp; So I end up with a character with no eyebrows.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have &quot;Collect textures to folder&quot; set in my export settings and I can see that when I export a character based on V8, like Elizabeth, I get a texture for the base face (FWSAElizabethFace_1001.jpg) as well as a .tif of that, and then also the makeup (FWSAElizabethFaceMU01_1001.jpg) and lips (FWSAElizabethFaceLips03_1001.jpg).&nbsp; With base V8 I just get the face jpg, which lacks eyebrows.</p>

<p>It&#39;s only a minor inconvenience that Victoria 8 makeup only shows up in the render, but if it doesn&#39;t export that makes the character unusable.&nbsp; Does anyone have any insight into what might be causing this?&nbsp; Hopefully one of these seemingly related V8 makeup issues can shine light on the other, and I hope there&#39;s some workaround that will let me retrieve the face texture for V8.&nbsp; Thanks.</p>

<p>I wanted to take a look at my scene, but... for some reason, its blurred:</p>

<p>I used my old render preset but that didnt fixed it :/</p>

<p>I will now restart Daz Studio, maybe it helps, maybe not.</p>

<p>So far I know, does a Perspective view not have any kind of Blur.</p>

<p>Update: restarting Daz did fixed it... Still crazy WHY.. O_o</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a way to create a setting option&nbsp;so that when I go to shaping tab and related, only select morph products are shown? Similarly, any way to elect to show only select shaders?&nbsp;<br />

I have a lot of installed content and am looking to get into creating custom characters for sale;&nbsp;it&#39;d be very helpful if I can hide the assets that aren&#39;t merchant resources when&nbsp;working on an intended commercial project,&nbsp;to avoid accidentally applying any resources against its&nbsp;usage rights. I have too many morphs and shader sets to be able to keep track of which are merchant resources and which aren&#39;t without some&nbsp;automatic identifier or filtering. I would be able to go through my resources once to determine which are merchant resources or not, but it&#39;s too much to do every time I open Studio. Similarly, I&#39;d prefer not to uninstall the non-merchant resources entirely, since I still like to use them for personal projects.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Basically is it possible&nbsp;to create a filter or category to separate out merchant resources from the rest?</p>

<p>So i have a daz model that is at lets say x y z = 0 50 0.&nbsp; But whenever i try to rotate it with the rotation widget in the viewport the widget is not on the model it might be at lets say 0 0 0.&nbsp; When i try to rotate along any axis the widget location or origin is the pivot point and so the model does rotate to whatever new orientation i input, but it also makes a huge arc across the space so it also does a bit of translating which i have to adjust for.&nbsp; How do i change it so that when i try to rotate a model the rotate widget in the viewport is on top of the model.&nbsp; That way when i try to rotate the model&nbsp; it will rotate in place?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can save poses that zero other body parts, like head, hands, feet, but the hip stucture seems to be the root of the figure, and I can&#39;t seem to save just the hip like I can the other body parts. I can however, click on the hip, and zero that selected part, so I am wondering if that can be saved.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The reason for this is it is useful to remove some of the dramatic hip sway on female figures, and am wondering if this is possible to make a pose that just affectst he hip bones, and not the rest of the figure?&nbsp;</p>

I had a gen 8 female that I really liked and wanted to create a &#39;dad&#39; figure by duplicating her and going to the hidden option in parameters and cranking it all the way to male. &#39;Dad&#39; looked great (except for a slightly weird chest) at least until I posed him and his fingers got creepy. Is there any way to pose him without his hands going on all Edward scissor hands on me?&nbsp; Thanks in advance!</p>

<p>Hope your are well !</p>

<p>My problem is that i&#39;ve installed last week the newest version of daz, 4.12 and since, each time i need to iray render my scene, even if there is nothing in the scene, in fact each time i open my daz, &quot;preparing scene&quot; is on and never ending !</p>

<p>And if i want to render a scene, the picture is entirely black.... so i can&#39;t make anything</p>

<p>I didn&#39;t changed any parameters in the render settings.... so i don&#39;t understand where is the problem because before that, daz 4.10 worked perfectly....</p>

<p>So if you have an idea... it would be great ! it is so frustrating !</p>

<p>Like in the thread title. Currently I&#39;m running on 1080ti with 32gb RAM. In a ~10GB vram scene, DAZ consumes about 23GB RAM. Do I need another 32GB if I shove another GPU in my system, or will the 2 GPU&#39;s share the data loaded into RAM&nbsp;upon render?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I haven&#39;t seen a prior discussion that answers this adequately.</p>

<p>I have used SickleYield&#39;s Morph Transfer method for G2&gt;G3 successfully, but when I attempt it for G3&gt;G8 I get distortions, at the fingers and shoulders variously for different FBMs. Yes, I know about the Riversoft product; I purchased it and it works fine, though SY&#39;s method gives a more exact result.</p>

<p>This is the procedure as I know it:</p>

<p>Load G3 in zero pose, set Mesh Resolution to Base, Level 0, Scale 100%. Export as obj file. Load G3 base figure, go to Edit &gt; Morph LoaderPro &gt; Choose Morph File: select obj file. Accept. Here I switch to Joint editor tool and go into the tool setting window &gt;Edit &gt; adjust rigging to shape. Then, save as File &gt; Support Asset &gt; Morph Asset. In the Parameter Tab add the Morph Slider to Favorites.</p>

<p>Load G8 base figure in zero pose. Match the G3 figure&#39;s arms and legs pose to the G8 figure&#39;s at -50% and 6% Up/Down respectively.&nbsp; In the Scene Tab go to Options (little upper right arrow thing) &gt; Assets &gt; Transfer Utility. Select the G3 figure as Source, the G8 as Target, item shape as Current. In General Options select Morph Targets only; right click this to open Extended Options; select From Source Favorites, deselect everything else in General, Extended and Post Transfer Options. Accept.</p>

<p>Test the morph slider and if everything is good, joint editor again and save as a morph asset. So, my question is, what am I doing wrong/missing? Whether the rigging is adjusted or not seems to make no difference as to these distortions. Can anyone help?</p>

Also now I have two DIM&#39;s installed, DAZ Install Manager and DAZ Install Manager (64-bit), is that ok or did I screw up and why can&#39;t I log in?. Should I download DS 4.12 from DAZ&#39;s website and install it or wait for DIM to get fixed if it is a DAZ issue and not my install that&#39;s effed up?. Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>What a great day it will be when the graphics cards companies can get all of the needed electronics and fans on a&nbsp;single PCIE lane. Something as powered as a 1080ti or better.</p>

<p>Imagine&nbsp;having the ability to put 4 or 5 (even 6) graphics cards in a&nbsp;PC instead of just 3 or 4.</p>

<p>Perhaps if they could break apart&nbsp;the graphics card and have part of it tethered&nbsp;and in a remote&nbsp;place&nbsp;(maybe a hard drive bay) other than right above the slot.</p>

<p>This change would certainly increase productivity, more than likely, double it.</p>

<p>Why do they use&nbsp;those shortened PCIE slots? It&nbsp;can&#39;t cost that much more to simply just only use full sized slots.</p>

<p>I have been reading that 8x lanes can supply most graphics cards with enough bandwidth to reach their full potential...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, that title is an allusion to the novel <em>Catch-22</em>, but I am beginning to feel like&nbsp;Yossarian&#39;s soldier who saw everything twice; my Smart Content has started giving me two&mdash;count &#39;em: TWO&mdash;thumbnails-with-names for each item inside a product.</p>

<p>I can&#39;t pin down exactly when this started. I don&#39;t know if it is happening with every product because I haven&#39;t tried doing an in-depth checking of a lot of products (not able to get into DS right now to do it, either), but I just started noticing that I would double-click on a product in Smart Content to get inside it, and I was seeing two of everything. This decidely is not the situation of having an iRay and a 3Delight version of something. I know what that looks like, and how to differentiate. No, this is TWO of exactly the same thumbnail, exactly the same name.</p>

<p>Very weird. I know that several times recently I have used DB Maintenance to reimport all metadata, import the metadata queue, and condense the database.</p>

<p>Has anyone else seen this phenomena? (I sure hope so.) Any idea what causes it and what I can do about it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone. Out of nowhere with one certain model I have, I noticed a deformity on her stomach or lower pelvis. I didn&#39;t think much of it till it started really showing up with renders and lights. Below is what I&#39;m talking about. I used the polygon tool to grab onto the surface to see if there really was something up and it wasn&#39;t just the skin map somehow. Nope, Definitely something wrong with the actual body in terms of being deformed in this spot. Anyone know of a way to flatten this out or pull the skin out somehow? I have no clue how to go about it. Please help.</p>
