      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve exported a G8 figure as an obj file at base resolution, and imported it into Hexagon in order to create a morph. I&#39;ve selected the displacement brush tool, and... nothing.</p>

<p>1st, the tool properties panel is blank, so there are no adjustments I can make regarding size or strength. 2nd, the tool doesn&#39;t interact with the figure. How do I activate this tool?</p>

<p>This is essentially my first time with Hexagon. I don&#39;t see anything in the documentation, and online tutorials blow past setting up the tool as if it can be taken for granted. I&#39;m sure it&#39;s simple but nothing I&#39;ve clicked on is of help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I hit the&nbsp;&#39;render&#39; button, the PC will whirr for 20-30 seconds before anouncing the render is complete - but the render window is empty, with just the grey crosshatched background and the &#39;Close&#39; button active.&nbsp; 3Delight still works though.</p>

<p>Any idea what setting might have got moved during the install?&nbsp; I&#39;m afraid I haven&#39;t a clue.</p>

<p>Each time I refresh&nbsp;install manger it shows up and I install it and then refresh and there it is again.</p>

<p>Could someone look into why this is happening?</p>

<p>I am quite sure it got installed but&nbsp;something is still wrong.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><span>[My Genesis 8 ears are square] </span>How do I&nbsp;make them rounder?</p>

<p>I thought I bought some HD textures and morphs for Genesis 8 but I can&#39;t seem to locate them.</p>

<p>Is there a Genesis 8 skin upgrade?</p>

<p>I don&#39;t mean skin from another character but HD skin made specifically for&nbsp;Genesis 8.</p>

<p>A lot of characters have HD dials that accompany the other dial&nbsp;for a character, how do I&nbsp;get an HD dial&nbsp;for Genesis 8?</p>

<p>I turn up&nbsp;the HD dial and not much seems to happen to Genesis 8.</p>

<p>I assume the HD dials for other characters also work for&nbsp;Genesis 8&nbsp;but I was wondering if there is an HD dial designed specifically for Genesis 8?</p>

<p>Oh, and the ear thing for&nbsp;Genesis 8, how do I&nbsp;make them rounder?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a model I&#39;m building in Lightwave with lets say two parts.</p>

<p>Export obj, import obj in DS, add textures, save as/ support object/ figure or prop. DS writes the data and Duf.</p>

<p>The part shows up in my content and it is called &#39;PART 1&#39;</p>

<p>Now I want to update, change the model a little bit in Lightwave.</p>

<p>Make changes, export obj...all the same steps.</p>

<p>The real test&nbsp; is opening up the newly written over duf in my&nbsp;content folder.</p>

<p>Part one updates just fine, I see the updated geometry.</p>

<p>All the same steps with part two.</p>

<p>But part two will not update no matter what I do.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried to toss the item from the data folder and the content folder then save it again. It will not update.</p>

<p>Unless I rename the part to &#39;PART2a&#39;&nbsp; but that will mess up my scene subsets that these parts are already in.</p>

<p>Is this a bug or is there something that needs to be refreshed?</p>

<p>Is there some other place besides data that DS is storing info?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have so many camera presets from different products over the years so natually I often would like to use them in a scene. However when I do load a camera the default function is to replace existing cameras I have in the scene. I would like to change the default function so that I do not have to hold down the control Key while I load each one to avoid having my existing cameras replaced. twice now I have loaded 15 or 18 of the twenty cameras with the highlander set carefully using the control key to get more than one camera in the scene and then woops! I click the wrong button and all my cameras are gone! including cameras I created from scratch with different names! Surely there is some way to batch load cameras? It seems to me replacing existing camera would be more fitting as an exception than the rule.</p>

<p>A while ago I accidentally saved a character as an asset. When I noticed what I&#39;d done I deleted the asset file and thought nothing of it until I loaded a new G8M. I now get this error:</p>

<p>It&#39;s not the end of the world but I can&#39;t help feeling it takes longer now to load G8M and not being able to fix it grates on me. What can I do?</p>

Seems like Daz3d on MacOS is going to bne limited to Older OS versions and Older Macs Pros with Older Nvidia Cards and Older drivers. THis is a shrort term solution at best for Daz3d on Mac OS. As no one who is using Daz3d for any length of time is going to be satisfied with CPU only renders and Dforce simulations.&nbsp;<br />

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>since my pc crashed, I&#39;m looking to by a high-end PC to make my work with Daz3d much more fun and smooth.<br />
Right now its not much fun since a solo person render takes like an hour on my laptop 8gb ram, so I&#39;m used to work on an other pc in the meanwhile.</p>

Should I set the i9 processor too? Do I even need the 64 GB?</p>

What do I need to Create Szenes with backgrounds and multiple Charckters, light effects with particles and more?&nbsp;<br />
It will be allready a big upgrade from 8GB anyway. But I wont like to be stopped at the next projects too fast.<br />

Can you give me an example of your PC stats, and render time of a given picture as an example?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Good day, I just purchased all 4 of the pose architect products and they are fantastic for poses, animation, and even in puppeteer. I think I will get a lot of use from these. However, the script that is to transfer the motion to normal pose dials does not function. I get an error message to see the log file, which says:</p>

<p>Any Advice? Like the G3 Pose folder have the poses for M+F combined (which I really like, lesser searching), should I redo it with male after I made it with Female? But however, I have much times a good result with male/female on any gender, so maybe its not absolute needed?</p>

<p>So I know what gimbal lock is...its where you line up the axis with each other and it doesnt matter if you rotate the x y or z clockwise or counter-clockwise all of them are moving in the same two rotational directions.&nbsp; I think that normally a figure has limiters in place so that you can only rotate limbs a certain amount?&nbsp; But i added a pose and i think it gave me an option to turn off limits.&nbsp; Never noticed until now that this might affect the range-of-motion limits for limbs.&nbsp; So with the limits turned off it shouldn&#39;t matter that arms and legs in the posing menu have bend, forward-back and twist.&nbsp; They all rotate and those names are just substitutes for x y and z so that means it should be possible to gimbal lock limbs too correct?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have three problems, possibly all related or not, with the iray rendering of a character. I have rendered hundreds of images using Daz Studio of the years and have not encountered this problem before. I am using studio 4.12 pro and iray materials.&nbsp; Many other renders with this setup have been fine.</p>

<p>With this figure I have:</p>

<p>(1) strange dark patterns on the forehead,</p>

<p>(2) pure white, rash-like patches on the skin, and</p>

<p>(3) white splotches on the clothing.</p>

<p>Pictures are attached.</p>

<p>Do you have any idea why this is happening?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all, trying to slice and dice to make a different character within Daz Studio. Is it possible to take the nose shape from one character and merge it with the eye shape of another? The face/head sliders seem to change everything instead of the specific feature. Help would be greatly appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I seem to have found a bug.&nbsp; Whenever I try to&nbsp; load Noggin&#39;s crow with folded wings DS crashes.&nbsp; I know this is mainly a Poser figure, but it has worked fine before in earlier versions of DS, and the in flight model loads okay.&nbsp; Does anyone have a suggestion?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; according to the product information it should be compatible with DAZ Studio 4.12</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all, I&#39;m new to Daz 3D, and have been noodling around with some renders.&nbsp; In some ways (kinematics, keyframe animation, posing controls, viewport handling) things haven&#39;t changed that much from years ago when I played with Poser for a while, but in other ways (especially render quality, figure quality, polygon&nbsp;counts, mesh resolutions, dForce, and available props/figures/materials/sets) it&#39;s a whole new world.&nbsp; A&nbsp;good iRay render is a far cry from what I remember producing 10 years ago.</p>

<p>Anyway, it&#39;s taken me a few weeks to get comfortable with the interface and viewport controls, with the mysteries of domes and HDRI, not to mention the finnicky nature of lighting, and to figure out some of the quirks of iRay rendering and how to effectively use the content library.&nbsp; I&#39;ve put together some test scenes and it&#39;s looking pretty good, but for an upcoming scene I&#39;m anticipating a problem I&#39;d like some input on:</p>

<p>So let&#39;s say I want to put together a fantasy scene with significant scale differences among figures/objects, where you have a giant and some giant props, and some regular-sized figures and props, together in the same scene.&nbsp; Let&#39;s say a 10:1 ratio, so the giant is about 60ft tall relative to the average 6ft figure.&nbsp; I foresee issues navigating the viewport around a giant figure, and translations (viewport as well as figure) will likely be very slow and tedious, as it will move only very little in response to large inputs.&nbsp; Also, given the infamous iRay &quot;black eyes&quot; issue that I&#39;ve been experiencing and having to deal with by moving all my scenes around to put the eyes near world origin, what happens if the eyes are gigantic and widely spaced?&nbsp; Haven&#39;t actually tried it yet, but I&#39;m anticipating frustration.</p>

<p>One way to deal with it would be to reverse things and just make the &quot;giant&quot; normal-sized and the &quot;regular&quot; figures tiny (around 7 inches), but then the problem becomes that translations on the small figures become hard to handle, as every small movement of the mouse is amplified, and the granularity of available adjustments at the Daz scale (which is in meters, I believe) becomes too rough.</p>

<p>Maybe I could try splitting the difference, and make my &quot;regular&quot; figures something like 2ft tall, and the giant around 20ft tall, to get the same relative size difference and strike a compromise.&nbsp; Maybe.&nbsp; Or I guess I could try something using forced perspective, where the figures are actually all normal-sized, but arranged so perfectly that they seem to be different scales (like they did in the LOTR movies).&nbsp; Seems like a lot of work, though, and in LOTR they had special sets and props to support the illusions.</p>

<p>I can&#39;t think of any perfect solution, other than compositing the scenes out of multiple renders (which I&#39;d prefer not to do).&nbsp; Is there some magic trick in Daz that I&#39;m missing?&nbsp; Some way to adjust the world scale/units, or set a multiplier at the figure/object level, or to adjust the granularity of translations?&nbsp; I know there&#39;s a multiplier that can be applied to the dome, when it&#39;s in finite mode, but that wouldn&#39;t seem to apply here.&nbsp; Any input appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>GTX 1080 Armor 8G Geforce. Will this card work with Daz? I am currently returning recently bought products because not having an Nvidia means my machine (with an AMD card) takes hours upon hours rendering the simplest scene.</p>

<p>If the Nvidia card works (hopefully as a second card dedicated to rendering), that would mean I could continue using Daz.</p>

<ol>
	<li>Is this card too out-of-date to work with Daz?</li>
	<li>Will it be unsupported with the next versions of Daz because of its age?</li>
	<li>Will it work at all as a secondary card?</li>
</ol>

<p>I have now 2 Pose sets which I wanna &quot;resave&quot;, the one is the Armchair pose which i mentioned somewhere (which requires the armchair).</p>

<p>Well.... that is... sad :( I assumed it have the emotes from the promos ;(</p>

<p>So... IF, I grab now also the emotes... is there a way to combine them? that when I load the angry pose the face also gets angry? arghhh why do they make such a Promo and bait me ;( thats not fair :(</p>
