      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since upgrading Daz I have found that several of the shortcut keys I use regularly aren&#39;t working.&nbsp; Hitting Ctrl + D no longer drops the figure, Del no longer deletes the current figure, and worst of all Ctrl + Z no longer is undo.&nbsp; So I know that there is a toggle for using the keyboard to turn off or on the navigation of the viewport with the keyboard.&nbsp; I have had this on and off to see if that was the issue and since I am here posting this you can probably guess that didn&#39;t work.&nbsp; I first had the issue when I upgraded to 4.12 and continued to have the issue with 4.12.1.&nbsp; I&#39;m unsure if this is a known issue or there is a simple fix.&nbsp; So has anyone had this issue and/or know how to fix the issue?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Sometimes, when I click &quot;cancel&quot; on an iRay render, it pops up the dialogue asking me if I want to cancel it, but it never changes to &quot;Close.&quot; In the workspace, the dialogue keeps running, and the same thing happens there if I click &quot;Cancel&quot; - it asks if I want to, I confirm, the dialogue goes away, but the render keeps running, only now I have no progress indication of when it might be done. My only choice is to kill the Studio process entirely.<br />
<br />
It seems strange that a program may not have enough RAM or memory to close ... this has been going on pretty much since the beginning of iRay. Current version running is 4.12.1.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Very new to Daz3d. Tried installing it yesterday and was surprised to find it trying to turn my PC into a database server. Unpleasantly surprised, to be precise. I was less than impressed to see that my computer now runs a bunch of Postgres services.</p>

<p>Is it critical that postgres be installed or is there any way around this? If it really is necessary (poor show), can I set it up to use a different postgres database and schema that I provide myself?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>A thin black line is visible on the Genesis Freak 5 character when viewing and rendering it with Iray. This thin black line disappears when displacement is off (refer to the attached images).</p>

<p>What causes this thin black line to appear along the character&#39;s seams? Is there a way to fix this problem while using the Freak 5 displacement map? The thin black line <em>does not</em> appear if I apply a different character&#39;s skin material with displacement on, for example Michael 5.</p>

<p>In case it matters: I am using DAZ Studio Pro BETA Public Build Version 4.12.2.6.&nbsp;<span>No doubt I am overlooking something simple.</span></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having trouble getting the fur on the Real Fur Poncho to render. I know it doesn&#39;t render in th preview, but it is invisible in the final render as well. I&#39;ve added the fur, clicked the &#39;Fur on&#39; icon, checked in the display pane (which says that the fur is visible) yet still it&#39;s not there! What is even more frustrating is that I have a past render with this product where the fur DID render, so there must be something I&#39;m missing!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve created a 14 frame animation that loops perfectly. Now I want to copy &amp; paste these keys in the timeline to extend the range of animation. Selecting the keys, &quot;copy selected keys&quot;, and pasting them in frame 14 causes the figures to flip upside down and generally behave oddly. First 14 frames play perfectly as they should, next 14 have the figure doing God knows what.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there some proper way to go about copying and pasting multiple keys at once?</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Edit 1:&nbsp;</strong>I turned off any pins I had and tried again. This time I was able to successfully paste the keys without the figure transitioning or rotating oddly. However, now somebody parts have straight-up disappeared in some frames&nbsp;<em>including</em>&nbsp;the original 14. What&#39;s going on?</p>

<p><strong>Edit 2:</strong>&nbsp;Thought I&#39;d get cheeky and turn the loop into an aniblock and then just apply multiple copies of it on the AniMate2 timeline. Nope, the second loop causes the figure to turn 90 degrees for some reason.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Edit 3:&nbsp;</strong>Selecting an empty frame ahead of the 14 frames and doing absolutely anything with it such as bending a limb causes all frames between 14 and the current one to go dogshit crazy. Is my file bugged?</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Edit 4:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;Created an aniblock with the 14 frames. Deleted all keys and loaded the aniblock in and duplicated it. 2nd aniblock caused figure to rotate so used the positional offset in aniMate2 to fix this. :Merged the aniblocks and created a copy of the 28 frame aniblock. Repeated the position offset once again. Now I have a 56 frame animation with 4 loops. Problem is that all nodes now have a keyframe for every single frame. Have to manually go in and delete all keyframes for each node I want to make a new animation on. This whole process seems bizarre.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>All of the sudden in DAZ Studio, any new products I purchase and install through the DAZ Install Manager&nbsp;have missing thumbnails in the Smart Content pane.&nbsp;</p>

<p>See the images attached.</p>

<p>What could be causing this? Is it some setting I accidently changed? Why would there even be a setting to cause this?</p>

<p>Please help. I don&#39;t want to have to reinstall DAZ Studio if I don&#39;t have to in or order to fix this issue.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am guessing something I have installed has caused a conflict which is somehow resulting in all my models, new or old (saved files) to always have a tiny right pupil..<br />
I am wondering if there is anywhere of determining this?&nbsp; Without having to wipe things and start over..<br />
Its not a huge issue due to DIM, but still a bit of a pain.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since it happens that I have to work with heavy scenes with a lot of characters and stuff, I always take a look at the number of faces of the items I use with the very useful script &quot;Scene optimizer&quot; (I already know that the number shown is the one of the current preview, so I use the same number of SubD in the preview and render).</p>

<p>But <strong>how to check the number of faces of dForce hair</strong>?</p>

<p>For example, as soon as I import one of those dForce hair, the scene optimizer tells me that those hair <strong>got 0 faces and just 380 for the cap</strong>. But when I activate the option &quot;<strong>Preview Render On</strong>&quot;, the number of faces explode&nbsp;and get to <strong>more than 1.830.000</strong>!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now here&#39;s the real question:&nbsp;is this very high number faces the one that the software will have to handle when I&#39;ll render the scene? Or it&#39;s so high because the software has to show me the preview, and later in the render it&#39;s number will be lower, and if so, how to check the actual number?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>A few months back I overhauled my four year old i5 Dell system, swapping an SSD for my HDD and upgrading from 8GB to 12GB RAM. That&#39;ll&nbsp;do for&nbsp;now, but eventually I&nbsp;want to go for a brand new build, something more keeping with the times.&nbsp; Since I&#39;m on a tight budget,&nbsp;I&#39;m not looking for the biggest baddest system out there. But I am looking for a performance boost that would justify the cost of a new system (as opposed to paying for another upgrade).</p>

<p>My basic criteria:</p>

<p>Budget: somewhere in the $900 range... if that sounds reasonable.</p>

<p>Specs: I&#39;m looking to speed up my&nbsp;<em>3Delight </em>renders -- not Iray.&nbsp; Unfortunately, being a&nbsp;tech doofus, I wouldn&#39;t know a core from a thread if one of them walked up to me and bit me on the arm, so some sage&nbsp;advice&nbsp;there would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>To the extent I <em>do </em>use&nbsp;Iray, which is occasionally, all I&nbsp;really need is a bargain nVidia card that can handle simple renders and let me play around with dForce.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hard drive, SSD all the way, 1TB or more.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Memory: 32GB RAM if possible.... I know, that sounds like overkill,&nbsp;but a few of my older scenes are <em>huge</em>, and avoiding swap-to-disk whenever possible would be another needed performance boost.</p>

<p>Bottom line:&nbsp;it heats up around here&nbsp;during the summer months, often&nbsp;hitting 90 or more indoors, and air conditioning is not always an option. Therefore&nbsp;I need a reliable PC that can stay (relatively) cool in the most humid of times.</p>

<p>So as I start shopping around over the coming months, what do you suggest that I should be looking for? Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to fit boots made for Genesis 8 Male onto a Genesis 8 Female.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When I check that video (at timeline 06:52)</p>

<p>The guy has a long list in his Auto-Fit Window when choosing : &quot;What type of item is it?&quot; and can choose footwear in this case.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I just have None, Dresses &gt; Knee-Length, Full Body, or short/Shoulder length hair. And that&#39;s all. That&#39;s quiet a short list compare to that ? And none of those options helped me to fit shoes properly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Weird thing : when the shoes load they are actually in the proper position. But then the Auto-Fit Window instantly comes up. And it&#39;s only after the fit is done that the shoes are linked/rigged but in a very wrong position.<br />
Could someone please advise ?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I use the universal tool often in posing figures. When I start, the universal tool is usually centered on the figure, so if I rotate the tool, the figure spins on it&#39;s axis.</p>

<p>But sometimes I&#39;ll apply a pose to the figure, and suddenly the universal tool is dijointed away from the figure, and if I need to rotate the figure, they rotate on a much wider axis, making scene positioning that more difficult.</p>

<p>What causes this? Is there a fix? Thank you!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Today&#39;s question is not particularly about the product I&#39;m going to use as an example. I am just asking this in general.<br />

So,&nbsp;After Midnight Outfit Set for Genesis 8 mentions that it supports dForce and it sort of does but only in the simplest of poses. Let me illustrate what I am talking about with a screenshot.</p>

<p>The dFroce result below almost looks works than the normal application of the item without dForce. This seems to be the case with many items I am buying lately. I tried multiple methods and even tried to use the timeline to choose just the right moment to save but it never covered the glut area at all for some reason. Great outfit btw. I am just wondering why I continue to run into this with the newer clothing items. Is it user error? If so can someone steer me in the right direction please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I launch Daz, The app starts, it is in the task bar but it does not appear on desktop. Hovering over the icon on the task bar just shows a blank white window, clicking on it does nothing. Click the X&nbsp; does close the window but I cannot get past this. Daz was working then one day this happened.&nbsp;I have googled ways to uninstall Daz and reinstall but nothing seems to resolve this issue.</p>

so here, for a few days I have had a problem with my eyes on the Genesis 8 Male.<br />
As you can see in the screenshot, the iris of the left eye does not appear. That&#39;s how it is on all the characters.<br />
When I render, it&#39;s the same thing.</p>

<p>Can you help me fix this?<br />
I looked for where it could come from, but I can&#39;t find it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I am trying to be braver about making my own clothes, or at least about modifying other products to more closely fit my needs. I fitted the Bandeau Tist Bikini&#39;s bra to my charcter, morphed it until is fit perfectly, exported it to Blender as an object, made my changes, and imported it back. It fits back on my character perfectly.</p>

<p>But when I invoke the Transfer Utility with the settings in the screenshot, and intruth, many other combinations, it stays fitting perfect for a split second, but then expands out as if a push modifier has been applied, ruining the fit.</p>

<p>Can anyone school me on why this would be happening?</p>

<p>I did managed (finally!) to buy the Home One House and... I try to convert it to Iray to save it as Preset (and maybe I can offer the Scene subset then in the Freebies), BUT...</p>

<p>The iray Preview does show a brutal broken Tiling of the House Structure, it seems to be fine inside (first attachment), but outside not.</p>

<p>Update, during writing: I just see that the surfaces have a wall_stones with a opacity with 0..., no idea what that plan is. <img src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/uploads/FileUpload/6b/6f272adb481df160bb820a0cf54af5.jpg" width="800" alt="image" /></p>

<p>I have this odd texture shining through, it gets large or smaller depending on the poste i use. Setting the MRL Warrior Scalp base invisible fixes the issue, but of corse it doen&#39;t render ...<br />
