<p>Also I&#39;ve been making video renders, using MD garments. Although my process has been the same, there seem to be way more glitches than when I started, I assume it has to do with the cloud folder.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The new DAZCentral application reset my CMS database during setup requiring a full CMS re-build.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, the most recent backup of User Data is a week old and dozens of subsets, materials and poses could not be restored into the new CMS database structure.</p>

<p>They exist in the source directories as .duf files, but are not referenced in CMS.</p>

<p>Is there any way to open DAZ Studio, load a figure and apply poses and materials directly from .duf source files &#39;outside&#39; of the CMS structure?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Last week, I created a number of complex scenes under the Beta version of 4.12.1.117, and now, using the new Production release 4.12.1.117, the scenes no longer load.&nbsp; They originally loaded under the Beta version of DAZ Studio in about 4 minutes, now DAZ Studio just sits there for hours trying to load the scenes.</p>

<p>Has anybody elese noticed serious memory management and file I/O problems with the new version 4.12.1.117?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As I&#39;ve acquired numerous assets for daz studio I have noticed the directory structure become filled with differently named folders that contain some of the assets of one type. There might be 5 or 6 directories within different subtrees that together contain all the assets of one type. Since I use the content library pane to do most selections, it had become time consuming and tedious to find a specific asset. For example, shaders. There were several directories of shaders in different subtrees under my Daz 3D Library directory. I used a windows file explorer to move all of them into DAZ 3D Library\Presets\Shaders. Now, of course, Studio cannot find the surfaces under the surfaces tab. They are still listed there. But the links to them are broken. I did this with most of my assets so that under DAZ 3D Library\Presets I have consolidated cameras, characters, dforce, lights, materials, poses, shaders, shaping, and wearbles into similarly named directories.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s an example: Under the surfaces tab the presets (sub-)tab lists &quot;Shaders&quot; and under that &quot;Iray.&quot; If I select &quot;Concrete&quot; I get a list of three specific shaders with icons indicating that they cannot be found. I&#39;ve atached a screen capture that shows them below. If I right click on the icon and select &quot;browse to file location&quot;, it does nothing. If it knew where the asset is, the program would open the file exporer at that directory. But it does not let me browse like I would if it simply opened a file requester to let me select the file&#39;s location.</p>

<p>&nbsp;My question is, how can I get studio to repair the broken links? How can I inform the program of the locations of the assets it now can&#39;t find?</p>

<p>The content db editor appears to be able to do that for indivdual files. But not for directories or subsets of files. Invoking &quot;scan known directories for files&quot; under the content library pane does not fix the problem.</p>

<p>I appreciate any help or suggestions.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just installed Daz Studio on my second PC. Everything is fine, except Power Pose is showing the basic male default template no matter what figure is selected. I have Charlotte 8 loaded currently, and she should get the Power Pose template with all the bells and whistles, but no dice. I have my content folder on an external drive, which means Genesis 8 starter essentials is also on this drive. What am I doing wrong?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So Im trying to run Daz remotely on my desktop to an obsolecant&nbsp;Laptop over Windows 10 Remote Desktop.</p>

<p>I can use it fairly well if Daz is open and the scene is preloaded on the remote machine. Keymapped the widgets and still mindful of some sliders. Functional though.</p>

<p>Loading a fresh instance caused problems.</p>

<p>First error was the GPU OpenCL&nbsp;recognition error window crash, which I bypassed using the remote switch shortcut method. It shows OpenCL GPU warning but opens after.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, loading an asset into the new scene&nbsp;causes a crash with error message saying authetication restriction at 0.33 or some such.</p>

<p>Is there a fix for this?</p>

<p>I prefer not to use a 3rd party remote software such as TeamViewer at this time.</p>

<p>I have a 3d model I&#39;d like to import. It&#39;s a .OBJ file with colour but whenever I try to import it to DAZ, the colour is lost. I&#39;ve tried converting to .DAE, and the colour remains intact, but then is lost on import to DAZ. Is there a program to convert OBJ files to a DAZ compatible format that retains the surface face/vertex colours when it&#39;s imported?</p>

<p>I have an icon in Smart Content with some preset body shapes but no dials in the shaping pane or even parameters.</p>

<p>I have a feeling it has something to do with file paths. Although, I installed face morphs using the DIM not too long ago and they appeared with no trouble. Not really sure what i&#39;m doin wrong here!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi. This is a different aspect of the same problem I just posted in a separate thread. I enjoy working on comics characters. But I have a deep-seated distaste for spandex so I try to make clothing that a character might actually wear on the street. This is DC&#39;s Hawkman character. His physical proportions are pretty much the same as Superman&#39;s and everyone else&#39;s. If he were wearing cargo pants that fit properly, they&#39;d be somewhat baggy and hide the leg muscles. The G3M Sword of Time pants are the right choice on several counts, but do appear shrink-wrapped. I&#39;d like to find a way to adjust the musculature on his thighs independently of his overall shape, if possible.&nbsp;<br />

Does anyone know of a workaround?</p>

<p>Hi everyone, I am sure many of you have noticed or experienced the problem of GPU render falls back to CPU in the past. Same here! But the titled issue is rather new to me.. normally if GPU dies it doesn&#39;t revived.. <img alt="angel" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/angel_smile.png" title="angel" /></p>

<p>I have 2 PCs one with 1080 and the other 2070, both experienced the same issue occassionally. Both got Daz 4.12 pro installed (with CPU fall back unticked) and newest GPU drivers.</p>

<p><strong><span>What happen?</span></strong></p>

<p>So I am creating an animation with 80 frames, <em>(and with post denoiser on after iteration 30, mithcell 1.1)</em> Before rendering the file series i rendered the first frame just to be sure the Vram is enough to render the pic. It worked well. I also got the GPU-Z <em>(for those who doesn&#39;t know it&#39;s a software help to check various status of your GPU)</em>&nbsp; to monitor the usage of the GPU. It was 100% so I feel it&#39;s safe. Each frame is limited to 10 minutes <em>(which normally will have the iteration reached 100+ so the post denoiser would surely have kicked in).</em></p>

<p>Then after one day I&#39;ve noticed the titled CPU fall back pattern. (one time i experienced alternative pattern). So i think the CPU fall back is still an issue. And to summarize, i&#39;ve seen 3 types of GPU failures as follow in the last 2 years since Iray kicks in:</p>

<p><span><strong>GPU failure cases</strong></span></p>

<p>Case 1) GPU failed from start --&nbsp; too large scene with tonnes of geometry / CPU fall back from previous session, and without restarting the PC / in this case GPU-Z also showed NO GPU usage</p>

<p>Case 2) GPU was used for the first few frames during animation, but then fall back into CPU indefinitely -- which seems to be the most common case</p>

<p>Case 3) the funny pattern metioned in title -- can also be GPU -&gt; CPU -&gt; GPU -&gt; CPU -&gt; etc<img alt="frown" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/confused_smile.png" title="frown" /></p>

<p>Bonus Case) GPU fully loaded, BUT post denoiser not activated&nbsp; -- now this is a strange one. Eventhough the GPU is shown as 100% usage (GPU-Z), the post denoiser was not activated and thus your image will look noisy. From some previous threads it was mentioned that actually post denoiser will only function with GPU render. So if CPU falls back then no post denoiser will take place. But this might not be the only cause.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been using Daz for 5 years now and very happy to see how it developed. Especially it&#39;s a free software. If this long lasting issue can be fixed as well then it&#39;ll really be perfect..</p>

<p>I have contacted the tech support already. Have you guys experienced this too? or have some thoughts of the cause? (for the pattern case i suspect it has something to do with each render not freeing up the vram.. or something similar..)</p>

<p>p.s. attached with a screencap showing the pattern.. it seems that when denoiser got activated then the file size would also be smaller...! interesting...</p>

For regularly loaded Daz Studio items (like e.g. G3F or V4 models) everything renders just fine...but any .obj I import to the scene refuses to render anything but purple. IRay simply refuses to work with the textures I load into the &quot;Diffuse Color&quot; tab.</p>

<p>Everything works with the 3Delight render, but I would prefer using IRay if possible.</p>

<p>I was wondering if there is a way, script, plugin, product, anything that would allow me to split morph from a model.</p>

The model has an incredible body, but there is just a single slider that applied the head morph as well.<br />
What I would like to do is find a way to actually apply the physique but then use my own custom face morphs, etc.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi. Im having issues i didnt have at the beginning, such as experiancing huge lags between pressing a camera control button on the keyboard, and the actual movement on the screen. At first i didnt have this problem, so i tried a clean uninstall (removing the programdata/appdata files as well) and the problem is still here.</p>

<p>It is quite annoying to be honest and i dont know how to get rid of it. I tired to look it up on goole but (maybe i just didnt use the right term) didnt find any meaningful help. I wonder if one of the recently installed contents may be the cause of this. I hope its just a setting toggle :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys.&nbsp; When I animate morphs, the only morph shape saved is the last shape set on the time line, so when I reload there is no animation of the morph.&nbsp; This has only happened since software revision 4.12.1.117.</p>

<p>Example: I load Gen 8 Male at frame 1.&nbsp; At frame 20, I increase the character scale, and also add bodybuilder morph to 100%.&nbsp; I play the animation and the character grows and becomes muscular over 20 frames.&nbsp; I then save the animation, but when I reload it retains the scale anim, but only remembers what shape the body builder morph was at when I saved and keeps that for the whole animation.&nbsp; i.e. if the playhead was at frame 0 when I saved then the bodybuilder morph remains at 0% for the entire animation.&nbsp; Likewise, if the playhead was at frame 20 or higher then the body builder morph remains at 100% for the entire animation.</p>

<p>This has been driving me crazy since the update and I have been waiting on Daz for an answer since 6th May.&nbsp; Please can anyone help??</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I imported an .obj from an outside vendor and when I import it into a DAZ scene, it comes in with this huge sphere around it. I have to zoom way in to see my object.       <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello I was wondering how I might be able to achieve an effect in my renders that makes it look like one character is peeling off a mask or suit of another character? I&#39;m still newish to Daz, so I&#39;m not exactly sure&nbsp;what the best approach may be. Essentially I&#39;m trying to make something look kinda like this:&nbsp;<img src="denied:blob:https://www.daz3d.com/b589c800-98b7-4d3b-a8af-cc5e4616ec33" alt="image" /></p>

<p>The only thing I can really think of is somehow splitting the geometry of&nbsp;a character&nbsp;and making liberal use of dformers...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>In the log files I noticed this error when trying to load Greeble City set... it indicated error and unable to find some items... but the props showed up... just not sure if there was anything missing.&nbsp; Could anyone please advise me if there is anything I can do?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi</p>

<p>I have a lot of ghost metadatas hanging around my system and appears in the Smart Content.</p>

<p>For example, I bought Proxy by AeonSoul and there were product updates... but as soon as it was updated I had inside blank metadatas relating back to the product atleast 5 extras... without the metadat pict along with the 2 that are with pictures.</p>

<p>How do I clean this up as I need only the 2.</p>

<p>One more thing - I have already tried the uninstall and reinstall product. Does not clear it.</p>

<p>Now I tried uninstalling Daz Studio and all of my thousands of products...</p>

<p>Even after reinstalling the just the Daz and SQL the metadatas appear... see attachment.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Still getting the hang of Daz Studio but I haven&#39;t been able to find an answer to this problem. I&#39;ve got a few geografts on a character, as well as some geoshells for makeup and other overlays, when those are visible, the geoshells lose their textures. Any ideas why? Included some pictures for reference. Thanks in advance!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to do an animation with Stonemason&#39;s Sci-Fi Kit 2016. I was first setting the scene with the Iray version, but have switched to the 3DL as a 13 second animation will take my computer the rest of my life to render. I cannot find the lights, however. I did a single frame test render and the only like are the small rectangle ones in the hallway. Do I need to add my own lights?</p>

<p>Just installed the most recent version of Daz Studio (4.11.0.383), and latest GeForce drivers (430.86) aaaand...<br />
... i can&#39;t render anything</p>

<p>Long story short, the log says:</p>

<p>on ds 4.10, and drivers 416.x everything worked fine...</p>

<p>I know that, iray 2018.1.3 needs at least Kepler class GPU, but GTX 960M is Maxwell, so it&#39;s higher class</p>
