      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to apply a shader to a piece of&nbsp;clothing (<span>dForce Beth Holiday Outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s))</span>. The clothing comes pre-setup with simulation settings specific to the clothing. When I apply an Iray fabric shader to the clothing it screws up the simulation settings and the the dForce simulation no longer works properly. I have tried appying the fabric shader to only the diffuse channel of the Cloth_Main surface in the Surfaces pane but still get the same results, namely the lower part of the dress stretches down to the floor when simulated. Obviously I want to keep the simulation settings of the original dress and only change the shader on the fabric.</p>

<p>Any suggestions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>There has for some time been an issue with some clothing items not being compatible with the process of sending them from DS to Zbrush using GoZ. Namely that when the clothing item is sent to ZBrush and back to DS (via GoZ) an error is reported that the topology of the item has changed and consquently this method can not be used for making morphs (usually corrections to autofit) to those clothing items.</p>

<p>I discovered that when importing&nbsp;the clothing item in to ZBrush, it requires you to convert polygons which have more than 4 sides into triangles or quads and triangles. Thus the topology changes. However when the import to ZBrush is done from DS via GoZ, it does not tell you that this change has been made, it just does it automatically. Thus, if an item has non standard polygons, though DS can cope with this, Zbrush can&#39;t and GoZ doesn&#39;t tell you that it has to change the topology.</p>

<p>How many hours of work has that cost me and others over the years??</p>

<p>Now the question is;&nbsp;is there a way to get Zbrush to change the topology back to what it was originally, so that the item can be sent back to DS via GoZ (or another way) in order to be used as a morph?</p>

<p>Of course, all this palaver would be competely unnecessary if DS had some simple Smooth, Move, Push and Pull brushes that could be used directly on the mesh in real time. (the D-Former magnets are, to say the least, blunt tools)</p>

<p><strong><em>How would I set up a geograft hand figure if I was going to have it with a second thumb instead of the pinky?&nbsp;<img alt="sad" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/sad_smile.png" title="sad" /></em></strong></p>

<p>In other words, I bring the Genesis 2 Female hand into Lightwave, cut it in half on the centerline (down the middle of the middle finger), and mirror the side with the thumb over...So...Two thumbs, one on each side, with Mid, Index and Ring the same.</p>

<p><em>&bull; I&#39;ve tried naming the second thumb parts as: &#39;Thumb2 1, Thumb2 2, Thumb2 3&#39;...THAT didn&#39;t work. Studio renamed it over to &#39;Pinky1, 2 &amp; 3&#39;.</em></p>

<p><em>&bull; I&#39;ve tried naming the second thumb parts as Pinky, but, when I fit the geograft, it forces the Geografts &#39;Pinkys&#39; to fit the ones on the figure.</em></p>

<p>I&#39;d want to translate over the joint info on the OTHER fingers, but NOT this special finger.</p>

<p>Are there any import settings I should be using? Anything I&#39;m MISSING?!</p>

<p>This thing is driving me to DRINK, and I don&#39;t drink!&nbsp; <img alt="angry" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/angry_smile.png" title="angry" /></p>

<p>I made a purchase. I clicked on the usual download and install button and DAZ Install Manager found nothing to install.</p>

<p>The items could be found in DAZ Central and installed individually.</p>

<p>Is this the new normal?</p>

<p>The FAQs seem to claim otherwise:</p>

<p>You can use DazCentral and Daz Install Manager together! DazCentral can detect what content is installed through Install Manager. It will also detect that path Install Manager is installing content to and will automatically read and install to this path.&quot;</p>

<p>Other clothing loads correctly, the tabard claims to work with Genesis 8 Males - however it ends up piled on the floor at the model&#39;s feet.&nbsp; It is also not parented to the model properly in the hierarchy.&nbsp; When loading, it is not detected as compatible, so I get the &quot;Fit To&quot; dialog when loading.&nbsp; &quot;Genesis 8 Male&quot; is not an available option when I go to choose what model this was designed for - and I can&#39;t figure out what kind of template would be closest (knee length dress?).</p>

<p>It is also unusual that the clothes are in the &quot;Props-&gt;Wardrobe&quot; section of Smart Content (where no other clothing is).</p>

<p>Phew!</p>

<p>Any help would be much appreciated - thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am having an issue with DAZ Studio 4.12 hanging when saving a G8F pose. The pose file gets created but DAZ Studio goes unresponsive after that. Has anyone had this issue? Anyone know what the cause is? The frustrating part is the error log shows the creation of the pose, but that&#39;s all. Nothing gets added to the log after the pose creation entry.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I currently render using my CPU using Iray. which can cause long renders and low movement.as I have been interested in daz since middle school,I figure its time to find a suitable card for rendering.I currently have an AMD.This is why i render with CPU.</p>

<p>I know that it depends on the cuda cores,but I do not know much else.</p>

<p>I was told something like this was good as it had 2080 equivalent cuda cores.</p>

<p>For some reason her head is not part of her body and is instead on the ground.</p>

<p>I&#39;m doing the art for a comic book featuring the Water Woman character I created. Below are a full body shot and portrait of the initial character design. The relevant bits of her story: during a sailing trip in the Bermuda Triangle, her soon-to-be-ex girlfriend knocks her out and throws her overboard, leaving her to drown. Magical beings transform her into a non-Newtonian fluid, basically seawater with variable viscosity. Her scientist mom makes a suit that helps her have a more human form. When the suit is at full power, she appears fully human. At partial power, she&#39;s more fluid and, without her suit, she&#39;s just articulable water.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve sculpted a geograft to replace her legs with a single limb, for when she&#39;s in more fluid form. Below are front and back screenshots of the geograft mesh.</p>

<p>In Blender, I&#39;ve assigned vertex groups for 6 bones: Hip, Pelvis, Upper, Lower, Base, and Tip. I want the Hip and Pelvis to match the rigging for G8F. The Upper bone will replace G8F&#39;s thighs; the Lower will replace G8F&#39;s calves; the Base will replace G8F&#39;s feet; and the Tip will replace G8F&#39;s toes.</p>

<p>Ultimately, I need to use either morphs or rescale/ERC Freeze controls to reshape her lower body into a:</p>

<ul>
	<li><strong>Tail</strong> - Reduce the Z (front-to-back) scale of the Base and Tip, so the sphere becomes a manatee-like tail for swimming.</li>
	<li><strong>Puddle</strong> - Reduce the Y (top-to-bottom) scales of the Upper, Lower, Base, and Tip, and increase the X and Z (front-to-back and side-to-side) scales of the Lower, Base, and Tip, so it looks as if she&#39;s rising from or sinking into a puddle.</li>
	<li><strong>Funnel</strong> - Reduce the X and Z (front-to-back and side-to-side) scales of the Lower, Base, and Tip, so it looks as if she funnels down to a near-point. I can then twist her Upper, Lower, Base, and Tip so it looks as if she&#39;s swirling from or into a drain or pipe.</li>
</ul>

<p>As I understand the geograft and rigging process, I need to:</p>

<ol>
	<li>Use Figure Setup to import the obj file and create the bone hierarchy: hip &gt; pelvis &gt; upper &gt; lower &gt; base &gt; tip</li>
	<li>Use the Joint Editor to adjust the Upper, Lower, Base, and Tip bones if necessary.</li>
	<li>Use the Weight Map tool to change triax to general weight, clear triax weight, fill by bone selection groups, and smooth the weighting of the Upper, Lower, Base, and Tip bones.</li>
	<li>Use Transfer Utility with &#39;Merge Hierarchies&#39; to transfer the G8F rigging to the Hip and Pelvis bones, then Memorize Figure Rigging.</li>
	<li>Use the Geometry Editor tool to select the top ring of the geograft geometry for grafting, and to select the G8F polys below that ring for auto-hide.</li>
	<li>Create morphs (if needed) or (better) rescale bones as described above and ERC Freeze to create the Tail, Puddle, and Funnel controls.</li>
	<li>Save As &gt; Figure/Prop Asset to save the geograft as a G8F modification.</li>
	<li>Apply the saved geograft to my Water Woman character.</li>
	<li>Verify that the geograft bones adjusted to my Water Woman&#39;s body morphs (Height, G8F Body Morphs, Cartoonized morphs). If necessary, Adjust Rigging to Shape and create an FBM. (I&#39;m not sure how to do this.)</li>
</ol>

<p>Do I have those steps in the correct sequence? Or should I use the Transfer Utility <strong>before</strong> I make adjustments with the Joint Editor and Weight Map tools?</p>

<p>From tutorials I&#39;ve watched, it seems I need to set both G8F and the geograft at Base Resolution (Subdiv 0) before I do steps 2-4, and un-parent the geograft before I do step 5, then re-parent the geograft to G8F before I do Step 7?</p>

<p>What else have I missed?</p>

I got an error message and suddenly the background color of the view port went from grey to very white. How do I change the color back? The white hurts my eyes.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since the last update, DAZ Install Manager is no longer able to log on to my account and no solution I tried helped. So I installed DAZ Central to bypass the problem, but DC hasn&#39;t even a start symbol and when started from the directory itself, it doesn&#39;t work. So back to 2010, where I download my content from the Product Library and unpack every single file by hand.</p>

<p>It this really what DAZ understands by advancement?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to make the I-ray emission surface invisible, but keep the light. I&#39;m not talking about actual lights where you have the lovely render emitter option.&nbsp; I am talking about the I-Ray emmisive surfaces you can ony control through the surfaces tab. So, basically, is there a command that does the same thing as Render Emiter does for lights.&nbsp; If I reduce the opacity or visiblity options of&nbsp;the surface, the light goes with it. Is there some trick I&#39;m not seeing? LOL Thanks.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Man Friday&#39;s mesh grapper is an essential tool. But I cannot figure out how to exclude some polygons so they don&#39;t move when inside the sphere of the tool. E.g. I&#39;d like to tack down (lock out from moving) all the polygons outside the boundary of a compact region of a mesh.Then I&#39;d like to grab one polygon in the interior of the region and pull on it with the following result: The polygons on the boundary and exteropr to the region don&#39;t move at all. The polygons in the region are all displaced but deform smoothly outward from the grab point to the bounday, where none of them are displaced.</p>

<p>I tried using the geometry editor to hide the polygons outside the region. But that had no effect. They moved if they were in the sphere of interest whether or not they were invisible. Then I used the geometry editor tool to lock all the polygons outside the region. No matter. They all moved.</p>

<p>Is there any way to do what I want with mesh grabber? Any other way?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just purchased the Fury X vehicle and when I try to install it, the install fails. I tried the install update command and that failed. I then uninstalled it in DAZ Studio and then tried re-installing it and it failed. I then uninstalled it in Install Manger and then tried re-installing it. Still fails. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am new to DAZ 3D. I can open DAZ 3D but no assets appear in the smart content window. I thought it came with some already loaded but none appear in the Smart Content window.</p>

<p>When I enter my login in DAZ 3D it closes.</p>

<p>When I enter my pwd in install manager it closes.</p>

<p>I have a HP Corei7 laptop w/8gig of memory.</p>

<p>The program seems to run fine if I could just get some assets loaded into it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I googled my question and I didn&#39;t find any answers, although I&#39;m not sure how to call it either.</p>

<p>Basically, I have two morph sliders, both go from 0% to 100%. I want to &#39;connect&#39; them somehow, so when I put <strong>Slider 1 </strong>to 100%, <em>Slider 2</em> goes to 0%, and when I put <strong>Slider 1</strong> to 0%, <em>Slider 2</em> goes to 100%. How do I do that?</p>
