<p>Surely they mean 49152kb of memory... Anyway, if true, is there a graph showing the increase in memory usage per texture&nbsp; size and bit depth.&nbsp; I couldnt find one.</p>

<p>Is there a hard limit of texture size we can use?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I upgraded to a GeForce RTX 2060 about three four months ago. These are the system stats:</p>

<p>Dell XPS Studio 9100<br />
i7 x990 <a rel="nofollow" href="/forums/profile/3">@3</a>.47 - 22BG ram</p>

<p>GeForce RTX 2060 6gb</p>

<p>Win 10 Pro/64bit<br />
Studio Drivers - version 442.92<br />
Daz Studio version 4.12.0.86</p>

<p>When rendering a scene, ocassionally something will go horribly wrong and somehow cause a cascade failure of nearly every component in my system. I&#39;ve test rednered simple scenes and complex scenes and there doesn&#39;t seem to by any rhyme or reason to the crashes.It starts at any point after a render begind when the clock in the task bar stops updating. Shortly thereafter, the Daz interface will freeze, but not fade as apps normally do. I run dual displays, and the screen that Daz is living on has no other symptoms than large area refreshes don&#39;t seem to be working. That is, I can&#39;t move a window on that display, but i can still click through the menus and other buttons, but to no effect.</p>

<p>On the opposite screen, I can open and select items in the start menu but nothing starts or stops. Selecting shut down does nothing. Starting the task manager lets me select and force stop Daz, but the force stop never goes through. Eventually the task mager also stops, but the mouse conitnues to work more or less for a few minutes until it too ceases. During these episodes I&#39;ve tried to log in ot the computer remotely usin anydesk and although I can get past the password screen, the app hangs on &#39;waiting for display&#39; Eventually I have to force restart.</p>

<p>The eventviewer complely misses the entire issue. Task bar clock stopped at 3:21, and the event viewer skips from 2:03pm (approximately when I started the render) to 4:42 (when the system started the report.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried various configurations of drivers, Studio, Gaming, older, newer, and the problem <em>only</em> happens on random iRay renders. Games, video editing, streaming video, or anything else I&#39;ve put the card it doesn&#39;t miss a beat.</p>

<p>Anyone heard of anything like this?? I&#39;m close to returning it to the vendor and requesting a replacement.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have read the threads that I can find on this, but they all seem to address issues that I don&#39;t have- because I can&#39;t get it to work at all!</p>

<p>I followed the install instruction from the blog and although things didn&#39;t match what I saw on screen precisely, I was able to export .duf and fbx files from Daz according the instructions in the manual.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The add-on appears to install fine in Blender 2.83, but when the importer tries to import a .duf file, it gives back a bunch of error messages and nothing comes into the program. I&#39;ll attach a screenshot.</p>

<p>Note: in the process of getting Diffeomorphic, I installed Dropbox, which has behaved in nightmarish ways. Could this have something to do with it?</p>

<p>Oh, I forgot to mention: the dialogue for importing doesn&#39;t show the &#39;operator presets&#39; on the left as in the instructions, instead there is button on the upper right, but opening it doesn&#39;t offer any options. It does say *missing paths* though.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello All,</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to use the Shipwreck Survivor set I purchased a little while ago, and have found a serious flaw with the model. The windows on the cargo containers aren&#39;t actually openings. The vendor put square objects on them and made them black, to appear as a window from a distance. The problem is that you can&#39;t put people up in the windows look out (or shooting or mooning, whatever), and you can&#39;t put a camera inside looking out on the scene below.</p>

<p>So, I need to cutout those windows somehow.</p>

<p>I tried the geometry editor, but the polygons on the sides of the containers go from top to bottom. I understand why, to save system resources. Ok.</p>

<p>So I&#39;m trying a cutout in the texture using an opacity map. The problem is it&#39;s all trial and error (mostly error), in getting the position right. To compound the problem, DS isn&#39;t picking up changes to the opacity map in the viewport, either in texture shaded or Iray. I have to do a render to see if anything changed. VERY frustrating.</p>

<p>Is there a way I can force the viewport to see the material changes without reloading the entire scene each time?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to learn Daz Studio, (I&#39;m a Poser user) and I&#39;m very frustrated. The third&nbsp;lesson &quot;Adding an Environment&quot;&nbsp;in Daz Studio 4.9, keeps giving me&nbsp;an error message that a file is missing. &nbsp;I&#39;ve installed both the Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 Starter Essentials&nbsp;numerous times using the Smart Content pane, the Install Manager, and even manually so I don&#39;t understand why this file is missing.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s the error message.</p>

<p>&quot;A file required by the &quot;iii - adding an environment&quot; interactive lesson can not be found. Check that the file is installed correctly to a mapped directory and try again.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a way to render all foreground scene items but not the background/environment - i.e., a scene that:</p>

<p>1) Uses all the scene lighting + environment lighting but has these hidden from view</p>

<p>2) Shows shadows interacting with the background environment but background environments&nbsp;are completely hidden from view&nbsp;(e.g., background is an invisible shadow&nbsp;catcher)</p>

<p>I ask because my Scene tab has all items&nbsp;set to visible, meanwhile, I only have the foreground items selected as nodes in my canvas Node List,&nbsp; however, the whole canvas just renders completely blank.</p>

<p>Not sure what im missing here.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>For my renders I sometimes like to use &#39;generic characters&#39; who aren&#39;t really the focus, but still important enough to be posed independently&nbsp; as opposed to using something like a billboard prop.</p>

<p>What I&#39;d like to know is how I can check how much memory things use so I can maximize efficency. For example, I use RawArt3D&#39;s Nosuit G8 figure a lot, but I also use regular G8. I don&#39;t know which figure uses more memory. Similarly with clothing, I&#39;d like to see what pieces use more memory, which ones less, so I can then decide on designing from there. HOpe that makes sense.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, guys,</p>

<p>I was using the latest Skin Builder 3 and it gave me the option of previewing the brow color I had changed, but it did it in a way I did not expect. I thought it was going to show me the color change inside the Skin Builder script but it actually did it on the figure itself as a preview render (wow, who knew!), except it did not stop even after I closed Skin Builder. &nbsp;I could not figure out how to make it stop so I closed out Daz Studio thinking it would stop but after starting it back up again, it continued preview render anything I put into the viewport!! &nbsp;It won&#39;t stop, but I did notice a new icon on my view port (and, no, I am not in auxilary view port). see attachment. It&#39;s a tiny square icon that wasn&#39;t there before. &nbsp;So I thought, Ooh, problem solved except when I hover my cursor over it, it does not identify itself like all the other icons on the interface. &nbsp;I can click on it and nothing happens, right or left. &nbsp;I can&#39;t make it go away. &nbsp;Know what I did next? &nbsp;Real neophyte. &nbsp;I uninstalled Daz Studio. &nbsp;Yep, took that sucker right out. &nbsp;I had 4.8 anyway, time to upgrade, right. &nbsp;So I uninstalled 4.8 and installed a fresh 4.9 as of tonight. &nbsp;And guess what happened? &nbsp;Yep, that stupid icon is still there and my viewport keeps preview rendering everything I put into it.</p>

<p>So which one of you super intelligent people can tell me how to stop my scene from automatically preview-rendering everything I put into it. &nbsp;I know you guys can do it because you&#39;re all super, super smart. &nbsp;I&#39;m pretty smart too but...obviously not tonight.&nbsp;<img alt="blush" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/embarrassed_smile.png" title="blush" /></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone,</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been having some trouble with the denoiser for some reason and I can&#39;t figure out why. I&#39;m running Windows 10 on an i7 with 64GB of ram and a GeForce RTX 2080 and I&#39;ve tried using both 4.11 and 4.12.</p>

<p>While creating and designing a scene, I will periodically switch from &#39;texture shaded&#39; to &#39;Nvidia Iray&#39; mode in the viewport draw settings while testing lighting and shadows and to get an overall idea of what the render will look like when complete. When I turn the denoiser on and select Nvidia Iray mode (regular default filter settings other than selecting the two denoiser apply buttons) everything works fine and the denoiser activates in 8 iterations. Within mere seconds, my image looks great and nearly complete with absolutely no noise. However, anytime I actually go to render an image, the denoiser doesn&#39;t do anything, at all. It never seems to engage and the image looks noisy and grainy. This is even after 8-16 hours of rendering while I am at work. If I stop the render, the denoiser stops working completely, even in the viewport when I go to select &#39;Iray&#39;. Almost as if initiating the render turns of the denoiser completely. If I close Daz and then bring the scene back up, the denoiser begins working again, but only in the viewport. I have only the RTX 2080 selected for the hardware devices in both interactive and photoreal. I&#39;ve tried this with dozens of different scenes, get the same results and can&#39;t figure out what&#39;s going on.</p>

<p>I&#39;m hoping someone might be able to help me with a question about hair in Daz Studio.</p>

<p>Most hairs seem to have a selection of colours which often includes grey or white hair, but is there a way to add some grey to a coloured hair?&nbsp; &nbsp;Streaks or a &#39;salt &amp; pepper&#39; look both work.&nbsp; &nbsp;I&#39;m looking to create older but not elderly characters who still have some/most of their hair colour but are starting to go grey.&nbsp; &nbsp;Is there a (easy) way to do this in Daz Studio, or does it require new textures being made?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m running into a problem that&#39;s affecting my workflow. Last night, I rendered out four scenes using Dimension3D&#39;s Batch Renderer available at Renderosity. These were animated image sequences at 1280x720 in 3Delight using nothing but the default headlamp for lighting. The first three&nbsp;rendered out fine, but the 4th came out entirely white. It&#39;s worth noting that the first three&nbsp;used one set of shaders, and the fourth was a completely different set of shaders (not Iray, just in case anyone suggests that).</p>

<p>Prior to this, I successfully rendered out four&nbsp;other, similar scenes using Batch Renderer with the exact same combination of shaders without issue, so I know it&#39;s capable of this task. I therefore assume it&#39;s memory-related. However, my system has 64 GB of RAM, which I would have thought would be more than enough to cruise through this task. I need to be able to use Batch Renderer because I&#39;m soon going back to work and will need my PC to be able to continue rendering my animations while I&#39;m not home to maintain productivity. Any assistance or info would be appreciated.</p>

<p>When I load the scene and use the light preset and the render preset, my render is black.</p>

<p>I tried differend cameras but it&#39;s still black. I also tried different settings.</p>

<p>I only get a render, when I start a new scene,load the product and start with a seperate lighning, from another product ( I used the setting from the Bend of the River for example)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I purchased Belle 6 and Jennie HD for Belle 6. The Belle 6 character works fine but when I attempt to load the Jennie HD character I receive the following message:</p>

<p><strong>file not found</strong></p>

<p><strong>data/daz 3d/genesis 2/female/morphs/daz 3d/evolution head/phmeyescorneabulge.dsf</strong></p>

<p>The product page doesn&#39;t say that it needs anything other than Genesis 2 or the Belle 6 character.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve looked for a product in the Daz store and found a Genesis Evolution Head Morph product but not one for Genesis 2.</p>

<p>If I click OK the character loads, no doubt minus the one property.</p>

<p>A similar problem occurs when I load the Cormac character that I purchased as part of the Elios 8 Pro Bundle except the file is different:</p>

<p><strong>data/daz 3d/genesis 8/male/morphs/daz 3d/landon 8/fhmlandon8.dsf</strong></p>

<p>Again the product page doesn&#39;t say that anything other than Elios 8 is required.</p>

<p>It is possible that this was unintentional on the part of the content creators or perhaps the store listing is missing a required product. Either way it is a tad frustrating!</p>

<p>Does anyone know if there is/was a Genesis 2 Evolution Head Morph set? I can&#39;t seem to find it in the store.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a few products that show up in the Updates tab.&nbsp; When I right-click on the little circle-arrow in the upper-right corner of the icon and select Install Updates, it looks like it is working, but when it is all done, it still shows it needs updating.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s what I&#39;ve tried...</p>

<ul>
	<li>Deleting product and re-installing</li>
	<li>Updating Metadata, and then selecting Install updates</li>
</ul>

<p>It is also important to note that many other updates work just fine.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can&#39;t find anything on that matter. Is it possible to rename &quot;SMART CONTENT&quot; to &quot;SC&quot;? I don&#39;t really need the whole damn name to understand what pane it is. I&#39;m constantly forced to scroll between panes because the amount I&#39;m using simply don&#39;t fit into the screen.</p>

<p>Or change names into icons like blender does. It has like 10 or 15 panes and they don&#39;t take 2/3 of the screen.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now I&#39;ve got even more panes with the addition of graphmate and keymate in hopes that it will stop daz from deleting every keyframe value that it&#39;s been doing for more than a month already.</p>

<p>So is it possible to rename panes? Change them into icons? At least make the font smaller?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am&nbsp;working with the Marmara Boat and it shows up fine in the texture shaded view when viewing through&nbsp;the stock Daz Studio camera.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But when&nbsp;I&nbsp;try and view the boat through&nbsp;the view of a stock Daz Studio spotlight so I can focus the light in the right place the boat completely vanishes.</p>

<p>It reappears when I&nbsp;switch back to camera view.</p>

<p>Any help on this would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!&nbsp;</p>

Adapting certain morphs&nbsp;after autofitting the V4 outfit to G3F in daz 4.12 will break the v4 outfit. All morphs have auto-fitted properly until daz 4.9. This problem has always occurred since daz 4.10. <p>Upon further investigation, it seems that the morphs that Auto fit does not work well with are Heavy, Voluptuous, Weight, and pear figure of Genesis 3 Female Body Morphs.&nbsp; Also, the morphs of Heavy, Voluptuous, Weight, pear figure of Body Mixer for Genesis 3 and 8 Female are working.(<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/body-mixer-for-genesis-3-and-8-female">https://www.daz3d.com/body-mixer-for-genesis-3-and-8-female</a>) First I want to know if this problem is my personal one or a global one.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To start with, I have had to transfer my entire My Library onto several different computers over the course of ten years with DAZ when one would break down. Last week, my power chord on my primary laptop (that had all of my DAZ content) quit working completely so I had to redownload all of my things onto another laptop I had (I couldn&#39;t just transfer like I usually did because my laptop wouldn&#39;t stay charged long enough for the 1TB transfer). I thought everything was working great until I transfered my saved files over and went to open them only to get this image repeatedly. All of these morphs files have been installed on the new computer and are in the correct folder. They&#39;re all showing up in Parameters and Shaping, but DAZ is not recognizing them for my figures. DAZ is also not recognizing some the People I have used morphs from, either (Salvator, by Darwin&#39;s Mishap, as an example), even though they are also installed properly and showing up in the correct folders. I can click and drag on their parameters with no issues, as well.</p>

<p>I&#39;m really frustrated and not sure what is going on. I have never had this issue before.</p>

<p>Please, someone have a solution. I had so much work I needed to complete and needed to do things with my own character that is now...not my character. Literally looks nothing like any of them. And it is any of the files I open--this is happening.&nbsp;</p>
