      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was going through old Genesis-2 clothing, and for grins was putting G2M outfits on a G2F. As I expected, things like thighs, hips, and chests didn&#39;t fit well. Just curious if there is any kind of script to add G2F fits to G2M clothing? Looks like it would be quite mechanical/repeatable. I have no urgent need for this, but would expand my options. (Ultimately, would use in Poser2014 DSON, but that might not be relevant)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a couple of belly chains in my collection and I like them, but they don&#39;t fit the character I typically put them on. I can model a chain in Modo easily and have it follow a path, but that&#39;s not very flexible for Daz. The chains I have have morphs that expand/shrink them in various parts (side, belly, etc.) to make them more flexible, but I&#39;m not sure if that&#39;s the best approach. Does anyone have experience with this? Tips for the way to make it as flexible as possible?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>If I parent one figure (G8f) to another (G8f), the parented figure moves (or scales) relative to the figure I am parenting to. I have the scale value on both figures locked. I have the &quot;parent in place&quot; option checked.</p>

<p>This issue does not seem to occur&nbsp;with all G8f figures. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be and what to do about it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>...Lately I am seeing Daz 4.8 hang for a long time in memory after the programme&#39;s been closed. I have been watching it now in Windows Task Manager and it bloated&nbsp; from around&nbsp; 1.5 GB to over 2.8 GB even though the programme is no longer is open. After a while it kind of just sits there going up and down in size by a couple hundred MB or so, then finally begins to fully dump from memory, but very, very, very slowly. It finally completed some 20 min after I originally closed the programme.</p>

<p>This began to occur over the last couple months whereas before, even after working on a very &quot;heavy&quot; scene, it would exit from memory much quicker. When this occurs, I have to just let it do whatever it is doing as closing a process prematurely can corrupt files and this is one scene I don&#39;t want that to happen to after all the work I put into it..</p>

<p>Hanging in memory for a long time like this was an issue back in the ver. 2.0 - 2.3 days which, as I understand then, was related to a memory leak somewhere in the code.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I click &quot;install&quot; it asks if I want to allow DAZ Install Manager Helper to make changes, I click &quot;yes&quot; nothing happens.</p>

<p>Open DAZ Install Manager, I go to &quot;Ready to Install&quot; tab, DAZ 4.12 shows up, I click &quot;Install&quot;, it goes from 0-100% and moves into the &quot;Installed&quot; tab, nothing happens. No DAZ.exe anywhere to be found, no desktop shortcut. What am I missing????</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The&nbsp; discussion title pretty much says it all.<br />
I can see the hands of my characters just fine&nbsp;(via Iray) in the auxiliary viewport but when I actually go to render my figures, their hands are missing!<br />
Every character I&#39;ve used to this point has had the same issue and I haven&#39;t been able to find a quick-fix solution. I checked that the body parts weren&#39;t hidden,&nbsp;&nbsp;I updated my drivers on Nvidia, I tried restarting the software... Nothing is working and this has put a complete stop to my work. Anyone know what&#39;s going on?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve working with 3D since Poser 1.0 was released. I switched to Daz|Studio awhile ago to take advantage of Genesis 3. Once 4.9 iRay was launched, it became harder to get the renders&nbsp;that I wanted, so I bought a PC (below are the specs). Since 4.12 the system is very sluggish. Openning files take for ever and after awhile working thing slow down.</p>

<p>So here is my questions - If I get a second graphics card would the speed improve? I also have very large libraries, should I pair-down to a slimmer work environment?</p>

<p>System Specs:</p>

<p>I5-7500 @ 3.40Ghz</p>

<p>16Gb RAM</p>

<p>Win10 latest build</p>

<p>NVida - GTX1060 with 6Gb</p>

I&#39;ve noticed recently that when I attempt to change poses or morphs on a model, Daz is taking an extremely long time to make even the smallest of changes. Sometimes up to a minute. This wasn&#39;t a problem before, and I suspect it may have something to do with what morphs/poses I have installed slowing it down. That said, I&#39;m unsure of what to do about this as the poses/morphs I have are ones that I find very useful.<br />

Do I have any options aside from deleting my poses/morphs?<br />

I would like to be able to use these in creating clothing items but am unsure what the proper procedure is. Adding the shaders to the clothing items is pretty simple but obviously I can&#39;t ship the shaders themselves with the product.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Has anyone had &quot;Install Manager Default Filters&quot; appear in their DIM product updates list today? DIM did an update today before I could login and now I&#39;ve got this appearing. However, while the name may be somewhat self-explanatory, I don&#39;t know what it is <strong><em>exactly </em></strong>and as a general rule I don&#39;t install things to my computer when I don&#39;t know what they are lol. I think it&#39;s a good rule.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>While viewing my log file to see if I could find a clue as to why AM&#39;s new Snow Leopard crashes DS everytimetime I use it,&nbsp; I came across these warning lines for each time DS is opened:</p>

<p>WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(419): Could not add path: &quot;C:/Users/BlazingOwl/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/Studio4/shaders/iray&quot;. Due to unknown error -2<br />
WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(419): Could not add path: &quot;C:/Users/BlazingOwl/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/Studio4/temp/shaders/iray&quot;. Due to unknown error -2</p>

<p>There is no such folder in Studio4; only ShaderBuilder or ShaderMixer</p>

<p>However, a couple of lines later is this:</p>

<p>Iray [INFO] - PLUG:PLUGIN ::&nbsp; &nbsp;0.0&nbsp; &nbsp;PLUG&nbsp; &nbsp;plug info : Loaded library &quot;C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\libs\iray\axf_importer.dll&quot;.<br />
plus another 14.</p>

<p>What is the problem with the first two warnings?&nbsp; Is there something I need to do, to fix it?</p>

<p>Also, I have a plethora of this warning:</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a problem in version 4.12 of DAZ. Height maps from Substance Painter could be used in the bump channel of the standard iRay shader. You could cranck them up to 50 and this would ad some subtle details to a render. In version 4.12 a regular square dimple pattern appears on all my models. I can mitigate this through the removal of the Bump map. I checked if Substance Painter was the problem so i made a neutral grey &quot;bumpmap&quot; and was rewarded with the same pattern.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any ideas? I got the latest Windows release last week (problem persisted) and I installed the latest NVidia drivers for my 980TI. I tried rendering in the Viewport, using CPU and GPU no change.....only when I disable the height map all looks normal. In 4.11 all was well.</p>

<p>P.S. the Bump scale with the scale of the PNG....4096 means more but smaller dimples....but the .png is still neutral grey......beats me!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can't figure out why, but I do know this only happens when I try to render in IRAY. It doesn't happen every time, though. The crashes keep hapening when I use Painter's Lights, though, or the "dramatic IRAY lighting".</p>

<p>I did screen-cap this error, but I honestly have no idea what it means. Any help would be appreciated.</p>]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ll preface all of this by saying I am not tech savvy. I know building a PC is a lot cheaper than getting a pre-built but the task is daunting and it&#39;s not something I am comfortable doing.</p>

<p>I bought my current computer for gaming before I ever considered doing 3D art. It has done better than I expected but it still struggles. With my tax refund&nbsp;I&#39;d like to get myself a computer specifically for this. A computer made for this and only this, where loading assets is faster, working in the viewport is smoother,&nbsp;and rendering is quicker.</p>

<p>Right now I have an Intel i7 7700 3.6GHz Quad Core, GeForceGTX 1060 6GB, 16 GB DDR4. If I have something in my scene that is set for more than SubD 2 my computer will just turn off when I click render.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve always bought bargain computers, usually on on Cyber Monday,&nbsp;but now I would like something that is overkill. I do not want&nbsp;to consider upgrading for some time. I&#39;m super nervous about pulling the trigger with such hefty price tags though when there&#39;s things I don&#39;t understand. I&nbsp;figure some more knowledgeable people could help me out.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve only ever had Intel chipsets in every computer I&#39;ve ever owned. My Googling has taught me that&nbsp;rendering is best done by your CPU and it will use all cores. So more cores are better. Intel chipsets seem to max out at 8 cores. It&#39;s double what I have, but I am seeing AMD Ryzen Chipsets with 10, 16, even 32 cores on Newegg. Would a Ryzen or a Threadripper with more cores be hands down better than an Intel i9 chipset with 8 cores?</p>

<p>I have two bookmarked on Newegg at the moment. Am I on the right track or am I way off base? And if there&#39;s any other websites with pre-builts I could be looking at&nbsp;please feel free to educate me.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I need some help with a project i am currently working on. I build this Scifi Chair. But the base as you can see is silver coloured. It is suposed to be dark metal like the seat is, but every single time I import it into Daz3D and i asign the texture to it, it looks like this.</p>

<p>I use blender for modeling and I have tried as many things as i could think up to fix this problum but I am at my wits end. Any help is greatly apriciated!!!!! If you maybe have had this same problum and know how to fix it.</p>

<p>So I have tried exporting the 3D model from daz, then back into blender, then back into daz.</p>

<p>I tryed flipping normals.</p>

<p>I tryed exporting as FBX, then importing as OBJ in blender then exporting as OBJ and then into Daz.</p>

<p>I tryed redoing the texture.</p>

<p>Nothing has worked so far.</p>

<p>Any help Please!!!!!</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to set up some dramatic lighting for my scene, and while it works in regular texture shaded view, as soon as I flip to IRay, the &quot;dramatic&quot; element seems to vanish... Do you have an idea as to what I could be doing wrong? It&#39;s like as soon as I&#39;m in IRay, there&#39;s a certain ambient light that softens everything by default (mind you, I only have one spotlight from the left, and one point light from the right).</p>
