      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just purchased the dforce dark match hair, and it&#39;s completely invisible. Only the scalp element appears in the viewport. Without a proper preview how am I supposed to properly pose or set it up? There is an nvidia preview prop in clumping options (why there?) but it does absolutely nothing, nada nilch.</p>

<p>And when I try to render a scene with it Daz3d instantly uses up all available memory that&#39;s insane for a single hair prop.</p>

<p>Most useless product ever.</p>

<p>I&#39;m really new to working with DAZ. and I&#39;m learning using the octane plugin. I&#39;m doing some test making a skin shader (just on the face of the model right now) and I notice some &quot;odd texture&quot; on some parts of the model, looks like a mesh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Can anyone help me figure out what can this be please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve made a shirt in Marvelous Designer on an imported Genesis 3 male base figure.</p>

<p>My understanding is that to make the transfer utility work the figure needs to be in the T pose so I imported it into MD and made the shirt but the problem is because of his raised arms, the shirt is all bunched up over the shoulders and when brought back into Daz, the bunched-upness remains on the shoulders and it looks like plasticine horror.</p>

<p>Does anyone know of any solutions to this?</p>

<p>Is anyone having this issue? I&#39;ve upgraded from the previous version and didn&#39;t have any issues. Wanted to mess around in this version today only to set up a scene to render and nothing happened. I got a blank screen. I checked the error log and this is what I pulled out out of all the other messages of errors I didn&#39;t understand.&nbsp;IRAY &nbsp; rend warn : There is no CUDA-capable GPU available to the iray photoreal renderer.</p>

<p>I see that there is another update available but I am not able to download that through the DIM. What&#39;s going on? DAZ&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I have a slightly challenging question.&nbsp; My PC is starting to act up, random issues with the system itself, not Daz.&nbsp; Anyway, I want to reset from scratch and restore only a portion of what I have in Daz.&nbsp; &nbsp;I&#39;d like to restore only those things that I created, basically want to start over in Daz.&nbsp; Most of my content was installed externally, the packages were done not using the installer.&nbsp; &nbsp;I&#39;d like not not reinstall the majority of the content, just the areas I created.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve backed up all my data, runtimes, data, all of it.&nbsp; &nbsp;Do I just restore textures under runtime or is there other areas I should do.&nbsp; Geometries seems to be somewhere else, but I don&#39;t see user defined Geometries.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to make a single-dial morph that controls a characters breast shape for different kinds of clothes&mdash;one for a sports bra-type compacting support, one for a regular bra, one for no bra or little support. I know how to make morphs by dialing in morphs I&#39;ve bought, saving the character as a level 0 .obj, then bringing the saved file in on an unmorphed base figure. I also know it&#39;s possible to &quot;subtract&quot; morphs from the end result (e.g., if you want to make a morph for Vicky 8, you can export her, model the changes and bring it it while removing the Vicky 8 part), but I don&#39;t know how. (Set the morph to -100% after importing?). What&#39;s that process, and is it possible to &quot;subtract&quot; only some of the morphs?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I have yet to get the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/lightning-bolts-vol-1" target="_blank">Lightning Bolts Vol. 1</a> to work. I can render out the inner version of the bolts no problem but the outer parts don&#39;t show up. I thought I should be able to just throw the prop in and it should work but it doesn&#39;t appear which means the lightning just looks like white lines drawn across my image - very disappointing looking. Even toying with the emmisive settings it didn&#39;t appear. It&#39;s like it is invisible or something. And given that people have beautiful renders with the lighting bolts in them, I feel like I&#39;m missing something obvious. Can someone please help it&#39;s driving me crazy. :(</p>

Sometimes I seem to have 3 &quot;degrain&quot; filtering options appearing in the filtering settings pane... and then, at others, these settings vanish like they never existed. I&#39;ve been trying to figure out what I need to have toggled on/off to have these settings pop up but so far I&#39;m drawing blanks and am starting to feel like I&#39;m being gaslit by my render settings. Can anyone help?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just installed, (manually - DS 4.12.0.86,) the Emma &amp; Jordi UIs and Styles product, and their Easy Pro Render Suite, hoping for a better, more readable interface, and to hopefully make things generally easier.</p>

<p>When I opened DS, I found that my many and complex Visual Menu custom preset menus wouldn&#39;t work. Checked Workspace/Customize/Custom Actions and found that all my hot key assignments for the double digit Visual Menus I previously created had been removed, somehow, by the install process of one or both of the EJ products. I used several of them just this morning, then did the EJ intalls, and they were gone.</p>

<p>Luckily, a Windows System Restore gave me back my Visual Menus hot key assignments.</p>

<p>I have no idea which one or both of these EJ products overrode or erased them, since they both play games with the interface.</p>

<p>I have to say that I didn&#39;t find any significant Install instructions for the UIs and Styles product, as regards the zip file containing the AppData folder. There&#39;s no real path, or only half of one, just AppData/Daz 3D/Studio4, which I don&#39;t have on my machine. So I put it.in the only appdata folder I know of, my own, Users/AppData/Roaming/Daz3D/Studio4 folder. The specific EJ files are still in there, but not functioing ( I presume) because I haven&#39;t rerun the Install from the content library icon. That&#39;s a guess. I&#39;m just relieved that i got those VM hotkeys back.</p>

<p>I also find that I have an apparently new, never-before-noticed folder on my system drive now: C:/Daz 3D/Applicaitons/Data/Daz3D//Content Database/ContentCluster... Don&#39;t recall ever seeing that one, as all the DS program files on my machine go in C:/Program Files/Daz 3D etc. or Users/AppData/ etc. I hate when this sort of thing happens.</p>

<p>Does anyone know if these Emma &amp; Jordi products can be installed without deleting existing Custom Action hot key assigments for other products?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I only had 40ish hours with Daz, and got this annoying bug won&#39;t go away.</p>

<p>As shown in pic attached, for example, when I select the right arm to edit, the arm in shaping tab&nbsp;shown gray on the right arm I selected, and the editor window on the right refuse to recongize the part I selected and force me to morph the whole body instead.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now the only way I get pass this is to open those gray tabs one by one which is super&nbsp;inconvenient&nbsp;and very time consuming</p>

<p>I don&#39;t know what triggers this bug, but it&#39;s surpemely annoying and won&#39;t go away after I restasrt the program or&nbsp;restart my PC, Any debuging advise?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi fellow Dazers,</p>

<p>I&#39;m relatively new to Daz and I&#39;m having a bit of an issue with my renders. For some reason when I do the rendering, my eye colors/materials get weird.</p>

<p>You can see if you zoom in on the eyes, that there is seems some kind of white/yellow halo around the iris and I simply do not understand where it comes from.</p>

<p>I reset and reapplied the material, tye putting on/off the spotlights I had, the key light is not on Render emitter mode.</p>

<p>The interesting bit is that when I do a preview with Iray Interactive mode, it works fine, but as soon as I do the rendering in Photorealistic mode, it renders like this.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any idea why this is happening ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I set out to test the various cats that I have.&nbsp; I put them all in to one scene and went to line them up like good kitties, but some were quite disobedient.<br />
I know.&nbsp; Cats.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; :)<br />
Moving these cats left or right with the Translate Tool makes their legs swing like they have been blown that direction:<br />
Toony Cat<br />
Toonimal Puss in Boots<br />
Millennium Puss in Boots<br />
Millennium Cat<br />
DAZ House Cat</p>

<p>These kitties behave:<br />
Noodle<br />
Hivewire House Cat<br />
Catoon<br />

I created a fresh scene and the same cats misbehaved.&nbsp; One cat in the scene by itself will swing it&#39;s legs.&nbsp; The amount of movement of the legs can vary each time they are moved.&nbsp; I did find that I could move them in Parameters / xTrans without their legs flying around.&nbsp;<br />
I haven&#39;t seen anything like this before.&nbsp; Is there some setting I am missing?<br />
I am using DAZ 4.12.1 and Windows 10.&nbsp;<br />

<p>It has been almost three years since I started using Daz Studio.<br />
I have acquired the habit to close an instance to quickly close a scene, and to immediately open a new instance of Daz Studio.</p>

<p>With the new changes, this is not doable anymore.</p>

<p>Until the old instance has been shut down in the background, I can&#39;t open a new one, and this takes very long, we&#39;re talking minutes for complex scenes.</p>

<p>I didn&#39;t have any problem with the fact that Daz was closing the previous scene in the background, while I was starting working on a new one.<br />
My system has nice hardware, so I couldn&#39;t notice a difference in performance even if I wanted to.</p>

<p>So I&#39;d prefer to not have to wait for 5 minutes for Daz to close in the background, and to not arrest it by force in the task manager.</p>

<p>The script I had found to open new instances requires Daz to be already opened, right?<br />
I could look for the script, use it to open another instance, then close Daz. But the whole process would be counterintuitive, and surely slower than what we&#39;ve always done.</p>

<p>So, how can I solve this problem?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>this is an ongoing issue that raises its ugly head exporting obj and FBX from DAZ studio to other software.</p>

<p>The only thing I can fix it in is Carrara.</p>

<p>iClone and Poser I am pretty much stuffed unless I use a Carrara export which tends to lose all my map paths.</p>

<p>It seems to occur on some props not others and I am sure the same issue occurs in other softwares like MAX, Blender etc.</p>

<p>It ideally needs to be fixed in DAZ studio or in the exporters.</p>

<p>What happens is textures are wrapped in the UV space and the UV mapping is destrroyed on export.</p>

<p>As I said I can fix it in Carrara, in the Vertex room there is an untick U option in UV mapping that fixes it</p>

<p>or more often I do a notebook hack on the Carrara scene for large files Kakman discovered finding replacing ABoo 23 with ABoo 3&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have no solution for iClone sadly and it bugs me immensly as I never know buying something if it will work or not.</p>

<p>First Bastion&#39;s divided Highway the latest disaster.</p>

<p>with so many parts fixing it in Carrara then reapplying all the maps on the export is daunting.</p>

<p>Thing is the vendors are not at fault IMO, its a DAZ duf issue as Poser files all work fine using a geometry folder, a pp2 or obj/obs etc</p>

<p>its the duf format or dsf that breaks it somehow and exporting back to obj the information is wrong</p>

<p>surely not everyone just uses DAZ studio</p>

<p>there must be others who export DAZ content that this warrants some investigation?</p>

<p>...and while it seems to be very detailed and configurable - and a MASSIVE power hog, using almost 1gb of resources for a single unclothed figure plus the hair - in the viewport it only shows an untextured silhouette which makes adjusting the finer details a bit hit-or-miss. (see pic)</p>

<p>i have other iray-only hair sets (e.g. Dallas Pigtails, Various Age Bob etc.) which do display texturing in the viewport, unlike this set.</p>

<p>rendering seems ok and i&#39;m guessing it&#39;s all installed correctly, so i was wondering if anyone knows of any trick or hack to make it a bit more workable during setup and pre-vis, that won&#39;t break it for the final render.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve set a spin animation and simulate it but the hair doesn&#39;t move at all, like it&#39;s frozen on her head. I&#39;m a complete noob at Daz, and I don&#39;t know what else there is to try.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve set the simulation settings to &quot;Animated (Use Timeline Play Range)&quot; and turned off &quot;Start Bones From Memorized Pose.&quot; I&#39;ve set both the Hidden and Render scalp to &quot;Add dForce Modifier: Dynamic Surface.&quot; I&#39;ve tried adjusting gravity and air resistance and that doesn&#39;t change anything. I&#39;ve made wind nodes, and those have an effect. And it falls on the ground, when she&#39;s lying down, so there&#39;s gravity at least. It&#39;s just the animations that don&#39;t seem to be doing anything. Or maybe I&#39;m just not seeing it.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve got it to work once before but I have no idea how I was able to do it. I don&#39;t remember doing anything else to get it to move but now I can&#39;t seem to repeat it. I must have Simulated a hundred times, trying different settings, and each one comes out with no movement.</p>

<p>None of the tutorial vids I&#39;ve watched didn&#39;t have any answers. I appreciate any help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, i am hoping there&#39;s a simple (and pleasant) solution to this question - i have been trying to export .obj&#39;s from max with a parent/child hierarchy and had no luck at all, i either get a single mesh containing both parts with no sub-objects, or i get just the parent alone with no child</p>

<p>I have tried everything i can think of, meshes grouped together, grouped singly, grouped singly then together, linked and unlinked, many many different combinations... nothing has worked yet. For every other 3d app / 3d game / 3d engine i&#39;ve used in the past, linking was usually enough to establish hierarchy but not so with DS it seems.</p>

<p>pic shows the settings i&#39;m using. Multi-ID materials export properly, as do my one-part meshes, so the exporter itself seems to be working ok.</p>

<p>How do i get DS to recognise the separate parts?</p>

<p>p.s. i did search for an answer but every answer seems related to other 3d programs not max, OR is concerned with going from DS to max rather than from max to DS</p>

<p>I tried out the new Post SSIM in Progressive Render settings for DAZ Studio 4.12.1.118 Pro Edition (64-bit) and once I turned it on it made everything blurry. I turned it back off and the same result occurred, nothing changed. I am now very frustrated because now I literally can&#39;t render with Iray. I&#39;ve attached images below of what I am currently experiencing. I can not turn off the Post SSIM. I&#39;ve tried turning it off in Draw Settings, turning down the target % to 0 (which bumps back up to 50%), turning off Post SSIM Enable then Available off.</p>

<p>If I could just manually turn off Post SSIM that&#39;d be (hopefully) a quick temporary fix.</p>

<p>I&#39;m not quite understanding what SubD is. To my understanding, it&#39;s the number of polygons in a object/figure but if the SubD level were to go down would it significantly lower object resolution. Can someone give me a side by side comparison or what not.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I just purchased the Siamese for the Hivewire House Cat and am using LAMH which I&#39;ve had for a while but rarely used. &nbsp;Following the LAMH instructions,&nbsp;I managed to get the LAMH preset loaded and did the export to OBJ, set the iRay shader and get it rendering.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve attached a screen shot because I see a lot of white speckles, or artifacts in the fur ( I don&#39;t think I see them anywhere but on the fur)&nbsp;This is still at&nbsp;zero percent done and I&#39;m wondering if those will fill in and disappear as the render completes, or will they still be there after a 24hr&nbsp;or longer render?</p>

<p>I&nbsp;used iRadiance HDR resources for the lighting, along with a mesh light rig around the kitty.&nbsp;&nbsp;I have the firefly filter on and I played with the denoise settings per a thread I found in here and that seemed to help a tiny bit (there seem to be less speckles than the first time I tried it)&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any advise you can offer will be appreciated and if this has been asked and answered somewhere and I didn&#39;t find it, please point it out to me.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had some luck breaking apart geometry objects in Ultrascenery.</p>

<p>Ultrascenery has these &quot;instance files&quot; and if you right click on them Instaedit gives you the option to break apart these&nbsp;instance files.</p>

<p>Ultrascenery has solid boxes in front of some&nbsp;groupings and then it has some grayed out boxes (cubes) marked &quot;instances&quot;.</p>

<p>Now I am working with a different product &quot;Tropical Lagoon&quot; and there is no&nbsp;grayed out boxes just the solid ones. So Instaedit won&#39;t work.</p>

<p>How do I create grayed out instance files from the groupings with solid boxes?</p>

<p>Daz Studio maybe got too much sun!!!!!! Give numbers!</p>

<p>I&#39;ve installed DS 4.12.1.118, cause I got from Daz3D the MLP HD Tool. I tried to render my new character HD at built level 3.</p>

<p>After some try, cause it&#39;s a laptop with a GTX1050 ti onboard, anytime rendering anything also not HD, start and stop immediately.</p>

<p>Can you explain me that in the log file? Look at the attached pic! There&#39;s a way to reset anything?</p>
