<p>I get an alert that I am missing 7 files and when I try to open the file I get the square block. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the file I am downloading from renderosity?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>There is no problem with this animation at the beginning. After opening saved file, the parameter change process between the two keyframes will be lost.</p>

<p>For example, I set&nbsp;the nail length value as 1 in first frame and set as 10 in tenth frame, it will all become 1 after saved and opened again.</p>

<p>How can I solve this problem.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey pepz this is gonna be a bit of a long question but please bare with me. I have been messing with daz for around 3-4 weeks now and have been trying to learn fundementals. The problem I am facing is understanding&nbsp;the concepts of the ways I should be rendering something and how long those things should take. If I run through what I have been doing hopefully someone can point out how terrible my workflow is.&nbsp;For the project I am working on&nbsp;I am going to need to batch render a fair amount of images at 1920 x 1080 with the expection of a few renders which will be higher quality. My now budget&nbsp;computer specs are GTX 980 , 16 GB of ram, I7 4790k, running off of my SSD.&nbsp;So heres my learning process, my messing about:</p>

<p>My first attempt at rendering was jumping into daz, using the standard lighting from the <strong>HDRI</strong> and using perspective view&nbsp;, Making my own character and&nbsp;hitting render using&nbsp;base settings... That didn&#39;t have the effect I wanted. Took around 15 minutes or more to render and the lighting was not in the right places. The character looked plastic.</p>

<p>I then went to the store, bought some better models, clothes, hair ect jumped back in put my character together, tried messing with spot lights and other sources of light&nbsp;and bam... still awful. In fact I started getting fireflys on my poor renders... Dam.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Went and learnt the basics of lighting ( Very basics ) got confused with what a HDRI even was, put a camera in my scene, used its headlamp and tried closing in my Character to bounce light. Looked awful..&nbsp;</p>

<p>I started by developing my environment outside daz, imported it in as a dae file. Put my character in the scene. had him lay on the bed naked. used just my camera, watched a few tutorials on how to speed up rendering times. Bam... took 60&nbsp;minutes to render this.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So I was starting to get to the point where I was getting what I wanted though an hour for 1 render is not really the timing I wanted so I decided to do some more research on how to lower the render time and how to improve my lighting a bit. I found scene optimizer and bought it straight away. and got these&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/studio-light-pro-hdri-iray-wow-lights">https://www.daz3d.com/studio-light-pro-hdri-iray-wow-lights</a>&nbsp;, I thought this is it , surely I can produce something good here. I went in and halved my texture maps on my objects. I grouped together my items inside daz for my scene so I could hide items when rendering. ( Get rid of stuff outside the light.. ) I implemented a standard camera, kept the settings in the environment much the same.. and ugh... bam...&nbsp;</p>

<p>This took over an hour and its got so much noise I wouldn&#39;t be able to use it for the project. The lighting is amazing using the WOW lights. I love it but the rendering time is awful.</p>

<p>So my question is should I be rendering in this way for a project thats gonna need consistent renders? Should I render the character first then the environment ? Does it usually take this long even with just one character and a basic backdrop. Should I be doing something to get rid of noise? If you want my render settings just ask. Many thanks !&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello. I make scenes with fully clothed and shaped characters. However, in order to make scene creation more manageable, and less laggy, I often pose my scenes using bare figures (dummies) first, then I import the fully clothed/shaped character and put them in the dummy&#39;s pose.</p>

<p>I try to use copy figure on the dummy, then I use paste figure pose on the character, because I don&#39;t want to lose the character&#39;s shape (dummy is base shape). This doesn&#39;t seem to work even remotely well, though. Is there something I&#39;m doing wrong? Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I try to render with Iray, either in the viewport or by actually rendering the scene, it only renders the first row of pixels all the way across. I have tried restarting Daz3D and my computer, to no avail.&nbsp;Log and screencaps are&nbsp;attached.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have been having a fair amount of issues with Daz Studio and purchased items not installing or even showing up as an option to be installed.</p>

<p>Most recently, I purchased the Kayo Pro Bundle and installed it. It worked fine at first and then disappeared from my character list along with almost all of my character content. When I select the option from Daz central to install it, it tells me that it has been installed but is still not in my content folders. I receive an error message stating that the Kayo content is missing with a link to download it. The download and install option does not work. I mean, why would it? Instead, I have to manually download it and re-install it in the correct folder. Although that might seem simple enough, I would have to repeat this step with 100+ items in my assets folder in order to add them all.</p>

<p>Beyond that, Skin Builder 8 is not showing up in my asset folder in Daz Central. Can this be retrieved some other way? When I try to add it to my cart, it wants me to pay a second time. What&#39;s an extra 50 bucks, right? I have so many items purchased from this site, that I don&#39;t even know if that is the only one missing.</p>

<p>From Daz Central, I have also been receiving occasional alerts that I do not have Daz Studio. This is obviously incorrect.</p>

<p>Am I missing an easy solution to get back on track or is it best to delete Daz Studio, Daz Central, the install manager, and associated folders so I can start from scratch? Obviously, that is not appealing but I am very frustrated. I understand that the software is free, but the assets are far from it.</p>

<p>Help me out here. I appreciate any advice moving forward on this issue.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It has&nbsp;been three hours already and the progress bar is at 70% slowly crawling along.</p>

<p>Camera Optimizer is&nbsp;deleting about 800,000&nbsp;objects from Ireal terrain that are outside the camera&#39;s peripheral view.</p>

<p>It would be so much easier if I could simply lasso these objects with the mouse and hit the delete key or draw a square around them and delete them.</p>

<p>Daz really needs the ability to toggle and select multiple objects/instances and delete them manually.</p>

<p>I hope this functionality will be available soon.</p>

<p>These&nbsp;scenes are simply too full of stuff. It is nice to&nbsp;have worlds available like this but what PC build can really currently handle them?</p>

<p>And to delete the unnecessary stuff is,&nbsp;well, time consuming.</p>

<p>I am hoping that after I delete 800,000 instances that maybe I will be able to do some animation.</p>

<p>I just bought UltraScatterPro 40 bucks, ouch!</p>

<p>I am hoping that some feature within&nbsp;that program will help my 12 core 24 thread I9&nbsp;and three 1080TIs to be able to manage a small subset of this environment.</p>

<p>&nbsp;What are you all doing to optimize scenes with thousands of unnecessary instances?</p>

<p>I have&nbsp;memory selected in the render options and the maximum bitrate set to 20 in the render settings.</p>

<p>The PDF file on the Ireal animation addon is 5&nbsp;pages long.</p>

<p>The PDF files for my drone are&nbsp;both 100 pages long each and there are two PDF files one for the drone and one for the hand controller.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I bought this product:&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/outpost-props">https://www.daz3d.com/outpost-props</a>&nbsp;mostly for the lantern. Unfortunately, the wire handle can&#39;t be turned so that a character could actually carry it around. The attached screenshot shows the handle selected in the Geometry Editor; that part was easy...</p>

<p>Rather than just hide the existing handle and try to cobble up some kind of replacement that <em>would</em> turn, I figure&nbsp;it should&nbsp;be possible to use the Geometry Editor to set it free. Is there a way to do it?</p>

<p>However, this occurs on all figures G1F to G8F; checking the transforms for the figure and hip shows them at zero, yet it is as though they are set to the side.</p>

<p>I then checked G3M, and it&#39;s been years since I loaded that one; same issue.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I used to be able to have two or more copies of Daz open on my computer at the same time.&nbsp; That meant I could work on setting up a scene on one copy while a second copy was busy rendering a different scene.</p>

<p>But I have just updated to Daz 4.12 Pro and it appears that I cannot have more than one copy of Daz open at any time.&nbsp;&nbsp;Has anyone found a way to get around this and have two copies open at once?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Keep getting an error when trying to start Daz Studio. I just did the forced update to my Windows 10, and now Daz refuses to start up. Worse, now I cannot uninstall and/or reinstall. The big bugaboo appears to be the Content Management module. A reinstall for the 64 bit version always stops at this point,and when trying to install the 32 bit version, it stops here as well.</p>

<p>I submitted a ticket to Daz, but am wondering if anyone here is also having the same problem?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have tried to match cameras between Daz Studio 4.12 and Terragen, in order to seamlessly integrate elements rendered in the two programs. To my surprise, in Daz, there seems to be a mismatch between camera rotation and vertical Field of View. I wonder if anyone else has encountered the same problem, and if there is a fix for it.</p>

<p>As you can see, I have rotated the camera 11 degrees on the X axis. The FoV is 20.9 degrees.</p>

<p>Half the FoV is 10.45 degrees. Since I have rotated the camera 11 degrees, the horizon ought to be outside the FoV, but it is not.</p>

<p>For comparison, I have also included a screenshot of an identical camera in Terragen, also rotated 11 degrees, and with a vertical FoV of 20.9 degrees. In Terragen, the horizon is outside the FoV, as expected.</p>

<p>It is worth noting that Daz uses a right hand cartesian coordinate system, and Terragen uses a left hand cartesian coordinate system. Both use a vertical Y axis. None of this ought to affect the camera rotation vs. FoV though.<br />

If I am right, any attempt to match camera angles using FBX files would also be doomed, right?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>All of a sudden, I can&#39;t get the smart content tab to work. That is, what I select in the scene doesn&#39;t show up as being selected in the smart content tab, and therefore no content. &nbsp;I should also say that I just recently upgraded to 4.9 from 4.8. &nbsp;I am having to redo a lot of the content. &nbsp;Lost a lot of metadata in the process. &nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have created a texture in Substance Painter and trying to set up surfaces in Daz Studio.</p>

<p>I understand that the renderer in Substance Painter is Iray also.&nbsp; But there seems to be a big departure between the look of the texture in Daz Studio render.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any idea why there is a visible difference between both renders when applying the texture maps (exported from Substance Painer) into the surfaces tool in Daz Studio?</p>

<p>I exported the following maps from Substance Painter (because these were the channels i made adjustments to when texturing)</p>

<p>- Base Colour</p>

<p>- Metallicity</p>

<p>- Roughness</p>

<p>- Normal</p>

<p>- Opacity</p>

<p>I was hoping for an easy way to achieve the same look from Substance in Daz.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to install DAZ Studio and DAZ Central on my second machine.&nbsp; I bought a nice little hard drive (D:) just for DAZ stuff.</p>

<p>The problem is... DAZ is a control freak.&nbsp; It tells me I don&#39;t have DAZ studio installed.&nbsp; It is wrong.&nbsp; I do.&nbsp; It&#39;s install on D: drive.&nbsp; But, it won&#39;t recognize it.</p>

<p>Not problem I thought.&nbsp; I&#39;m uninstall it and install it through DAZ Central.</p>

<p>DAZ Central installs DAZ Studio on C: and sets up everything to be loaded on C:.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t want C: drive.&nbsp; I want D: drive.&nbsp; Why won&#39;t it let me tell it to do things on D: drive?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>What is the best converter (if there is one) that will convert&nbsp;the bones,&nbsp;textures (eyes, nails etc) of&nbsp;Michael 4 so I can use hair, clothing UVs and poses etc for Genesis&nbsp;8?</p>

<p>I already have a clothing converter (which I have&nbsp;not tried yet.) ...and I have a 3delight to Iray converter that works really nice.</p>

<p>I tried to use Genesis 8 hair on Michael 4, thought maybe auto fit might work;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hair did not appear on top of Michael&#39;s&nbsp;head but behind it and the navigation sliders would not&nbsp;move the scull cap in place.</p>

<p>A character converter from Generation 4 to Genesis 8 would be perfect. (hopefully avoiding all of the steps in between.)</p>

<p>Thanks in advance for any help on this. :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have Dax installed on 2 computers. I create the scenes with one and render them&nbsp;on my desktop computer. The render queue by manfriday will crash (Fatal Error) when it restarts to pull up the next scene. I have uninstalled everything, cleaned, and reinstalled. Nothing helps.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It works on my laptop but I want it to work right on my desktop. Any suggestions?</p>

<p>DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module &quot;C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\dzcore.dll&quot; at 0033:000000001E6A26B0, DzScriptEngine::getEngine()</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Suddenly, the highlight/selection point for the gizmo to move or rotate an object is shifted so that the cursor has to be about .75 inch on-screen BELOW the actual arrow, but ONLY in the main viewport.. it works normally in the aux. viewport (i.e., the cursor highlights the arrow when directly on it, as it should). Current version of DAZ, running a MAC/Mojave. Always worked normally, then suddenly didn&#39;t... mut be missing something. Any ideas?</p>
