      <description><![CDATA[<p>In the surfaces tab, you can select one or more surfaces and do copy surface, then paste to other surfaces.  However, when you do this, it does NOT copy the shader type, only the parameters that have matching names between the two shader types.  So if you copy from an UberSurface to a DAZDefault, for example, you don't get the expected results.  Is there some magic key combination or other trick that will make it also copy the surface type in addition to the surface parameters?</p>

<p>I'm trying to mix and match human skin shaders with the Bot shaders in the new Bot Genesis, and it not switching the shader type is really making a pain of it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hi all.

So with all the things relating to bridges with other 3D programs lately, I figured to ask:

Are there any plans/considerations in the works for the Zbrush utility/bridge to include Zbrush's "core" version?

(For those not in the know, Zbrush core is an affordable stripped-down version, basically just like the regular just "lite" if you prefer)


I know we have a tool or something for the complete version of Zbrush. However, being unable to access my sculpting workstation at this time I am unable to test what utilities Daz already has available to see if they would work with core.  In theory it "should" but...in reality it might have more than a couple problems.

Has anyone (who also has Zbrush core) out there been able to try this out?

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I recently picked up the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/anderson-hall">Anderson Hall</a> and the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/anderson-hall-iray-addon">Iray addon</a> for it. With dome &amp; scene lights on,&nbsp;I have loaded up the provided promo scene and tried to do a quick test render and I am getting almost no light in my render. I can make out the faintest bit of light, perhaps coming in through the windows?&nbsp;I have tried everything I can think of and I&#39;m at a loss. I even tried adding a massively bright point light in the middle of the room just to test things&nbsp;and it&#39;s acting like its not even there. Just the same near pitch-black render.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Has anyone used this product and come across the same problem? I&#39;m almost certain I&#39;m missing something incredibly obvious but I&#39;m stumped. Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m aware that there are a bunch of different lighting products that are available on the store and that&#39;s a good thing cause lighting is not my strong suit. However, recently, I decided to work on a side idea of mine that takes place for the most part in dimmly lit rooms (picture below for examples). And the lighting just isn&#39;t hitting the way I want it to. It doesn&#39;t have that &quot;wow&quot; effect that I&#39;m looking for. Here&#39;s my thought on&nbsp;<em>why&nbsp;</em>it doesn&#39;t have the &quot;wow&quot; factor:</p>

<p>The bottom half of the image isn&#39;t as well lit as the top half. There&#39;s a chandelier that&#39;s not visible that&#39;s creating the light, and this is supposed to be like a victorian day (candles) and age where cellphone lights don&#39;t exist. So I end up with this lightbulb style lighting that look instead of a candle flame look. I did have an image that had a more &quot;flame&quot; lighting look to it, and it looked like there was a full on house fire in the room or it looked like you&#39;d need a torch just to see in there. I finally decided that maybe it&#39;s time to look into some lighting products that have presets done, but there are&nbsp;<strong>so many to choose from&nbsp;</strong>that I&#39;m just kerfuffled. And while I&#39;m sure there&#39;s some post work that might make this a little better as well, I figured I&#39;d get as much done in program before I start spreading out to GIMP/3D Paint or anything else.       <description><![CDATA[<p>It used to be that my CPU would be at 100% while GPU is at 0% while Iray rendering, so I unticked the Allow CPU option to make sure that only the GPU is working. Still though, now the CPU shows 30% while GPU&#39;s still at 0% (though the rendering&#39;s sped up and the CPU is less hot). Is there something I&#39;m missing out? Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>If I have a prop like MICK (medieval construction kit) that is made up of many base parts (walls, windows, fireplace)&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;I then use those parts to build a kitchen, and a hall etc and now want to save it.</p>

<p>If I save it as a scene subset, the geometry isn&#39;t saved in the data folder, and so it will be rejected by the store.</p>

<p>If I save it as a support asset/scene asset, it adds a user-facing folder in the same directory full of all the items that the prop is referencing. (See attachment) there will be an icon-less file for the wall, for the fireplace etc.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a third option that I&#39;ve missed? How do you save a multi-object prop so that it used the data folder, without creating all those icon-less user-facing files?</p>

<p>I bought BuggaBoo because I want to create a child. Then I bought a hairstyle. Now the hairstyle is transforming together with the BuggaBoo Slider.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a way to remove the hair from the BuggaBoo slider/transformation?</p>

<p>I&#39;m very new to DAZ, so I think there is an easy way and I&#39;m just too blind to find it.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I find that many artists use various naming conventions, and I have purchased a large number of Daz models. At this point, my model list is like blended spaghetti.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I am interested if there is any way to clean this up. I&#39;m very savvy about folder structures. Can I just move things around in the directory or will that blow things up? Finding decent documentation is difficult I find, but at this point, finding things has become an onerous chore I wish to try and optimize.</p>

<p>For example, in People, I have&nbsp; - Genesis 8 Female, Genesis 8 Females, Gensis 8 Female, Genesys 8 Female, Genesis8 Female -- Ugh</p>

Where I&#39;m hitting a bit of a brick wall is the skirt and the lei.<br />

The Skirt, for example, wouldn&#39;t be too much trouble if I could just translate z it back into position and then zscale it up a bit but those controls on the root node do nothing. What&#39;s the best way to just sort of get these kind of assets into position?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[I wanted to take a minute and get some input from some of you who have used this program longer than me right now I'm getting error messages telling me that I have multiple instances of assets installed and it is on some of the Genesis 3 morphs which I have it wasn't a problem at first but now some of my sliders are not working correctly so I plan on completely redoing my setup and starting from scratch is there a way to download all of my files from Daz website manually without having to do it one at a time and also if I just use Daz install manager without the other parts of it and I also use another program called Daz installer well that cut down on some of my problems so that I don't have multiple installations again at this particular time on my main computer the install manager doesn't even work properly it says it installs it but when I go to use it it's not there I have to manually put it in any help on this would be fantastic if you need any more input please let me know thank you ahead of time.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I tried exporting to Maya using the bridge and get this error<span> [: Instances found. They need to be replaced before export. Replace them?]</span>. I don&#39;t know how to replace them? Instances of what exactly, anyway? There is no information to help with this message. Anyone have a clue what I am supposed to do to correct this? Same character exported via FBX results with multiple skeletons in Maya. Is that the instance problem? Trying to get Zuna into Maya so I can use Advanced skeleton to rig her. As of now anything attached to the model gets exported with it&#39;s own skeleton. I just want one skeleton for all items attached to her with proper skinning.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any and all help is greatly appreciated in fixing this or just getting me in the right direction to fixing this.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am working on a dark scene with some dimmed lights, and in order to make a good render I started to use different ISO values.</p>

<p>I can render up to ISO 200 with no issues, I can render with ISO 380 or higher with no issues. But with ISO value in between 200 and 380, I run out of VRAM, which is I think strange. I am working with only 4GB of VRAM, but it still makes no sense to me.</p>

<p>Does anyone now what this is about?</p>

<p>I recently built a new machine, and reinstalled everything, and I have noticed a difference with selection now&nbsp;when working in Daz Studio. Previously, if I clicked ANYWHERE on a figure in the scene, it would select the figure itself, ie. the root node, FIRST. Then if I clicked a part on the figure it would select that individual part. On the new machine, clicking a body part now directly selects that body part. I want the old behavior back, but I don&#39;t see anything in preferences that sounds related. I don&#39;t remember having to change anything in the first place to get it to select like this, so I&#39;m not sure why it&#39;s behaving differently. Any help would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a way to fit a clothing item without it moving. I have been trying to adapt a G3F item to a G1F Charactor. As there is nothing like it in the G1 or V4 Library.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have turned the object to a prop, Adjusted the Mesh so it fits perfectly. Transfered the G1 Rigging to the adjusted Object. Which follows the movements pefectly,&nbsp;</p>

<p>but the movements have to be done seperately as it is parented not fitted. I have followed this video on how to fit almost any clothing item in Daz&nbsp;with mixed results&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am a huge fan of extreme and gothic style hair. There is no hairstyle that combines what I like better than the Nox hair.</p>

<p>I have tried to get the nox hair to work with g8. Normally this isn&#39;t a problem, all the other g3 hairs conform well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Nox hair does fit to the head, however you cannot use any hair morphs once the hair is fitted to a g8 figure. You can still drag the sliders like &quot;top hair to side&quot; and such, but nothing happens.</p>

<p>I have tried many things, like loading it to a g3 figure first, change up the hairstyle and then fitting it to g8...or loading the hair as a standalone figure first, load a hair morph and then loading the g8 figure and fit the hair to it...but that doesn&#39;t work either. Once I fit the hair to g8 the hair resets back to the basic preset.</p>

<p>Is there a fix for this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I&#39;ve noticed&nbsp;this&nbsp;a few times now but it&#39;s usually been the least of my problems so ignored it. I get odd seams on planes. I&#39;ve attached a screenshot. This may look like shadow but I&#39;ve had this exactly same &#39;salvage edge&#39; patten in parts of a scene which should have had even light.&nbsp;This one uses a bump map but the same things has happened many times when I&#39;ve used nothing but diffuse colour. What&#39;s going on and how can I stop it happening? &nbsp;On the right is the torso of a figure and there is a shadow running parallel to the chest/back however the vertical lines are what I&quot;m talking about.&nbsp;</p>
