      <description><![CDATA[<p>Well I stopped using Daz Studio for several months. Several reasons but mostly little or no internet. Recently I decided to take it back up, bored I guess. Well the first problem I had was the textures on the Genesis 8 Female was showing the seams between the arms, legs and the torso. I finally had to doenload Genesis 8 Female and that fixed the problem. Now the last few days I have tried to export a charecter using FBX or obj formatting and even though I tell it to collect textures, I get an empty texture folder. Not sure whats going on but it worked before I downloaded the Genesis 8 female. And it don&#39;t matter if I use male or female</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>hello, i bought HS13 in the hope that i&#39;d have better luck with it than i did with HS OneClick. I&#39;d like to get this working if possible, as it might work with photos that FaceGen and Face Transfer have issues with - angled heads, open mouths etc.</p>

<p><span><em>this post was originally going to be about the eyelashes not adjusting to the morph, but i&#39;ve just discovered that if i quit/restart DS then it solves itself...</em></span></p>

<p>...however, the eyes are noticably mis-shaped, with the irises being stretched taller/narrower and canted inwards at the top.</p>

<p>unlike the eyelashes, they are still like this even after a quit-restart-reload. pic on request.</p>

<p>is there any fix for this, or a way of replacing the eyes with a vanilla pair? i haven&#39;t yet googled anything useful.</p>

<p>(fwiw - i read that Abalone&#39;s support is conducted via Skype, and i&#39;m mostly deaf so that&#39;s not going to be much good to me unfortunately.)</p>

<p>I put Dforce Modifier:&nbsp;Dynamic Surface and made the bend stiffness little higher but it still mashes up.</p>

<p>What settings do you put to make it straighten out on the ground?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! Every so often I poke my head in looking to try and find some sort of solution for this.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What I am trying to accomplish is creating a number of &quot;cutouts&quot; for &quot;paperdoll&quot; style portraits and other elements. Example:</p>

<p>Simply turning the character itself invisible is not a solution because then you can see the &quot;inside&quot; of the clothing. I have been accomplishing this effect simply by doing a green-screen effect where the character is bright green and then I manually edit this out. Naturally, this is a very tedious process when dealing with large quantities of outfits and accessories and hair etc.</p>

<p>I recently upgraded to IRAY and noticed something very interesting - the environment floor option for rendering. It acts as a shadow catcher (which is awesome) but I also noticed that if you lower a character or object partially down beneath it, that portion simply doesn&#39;t get rendered. I was wondering if there is a shader or something else that can sort of mimic this that I can apply to a character which will essentially mimic this function.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! The old painful question again - how to import a custom rigged figure into DAZ to keep its bones and use it as a source for Transfer Utility. My situation is like this - I have the character (avatar) from Marvelous Designer, saved in DAE (Open Collada) and want to import it into DS with all bones kept right. Here is this figure on the screenshot and in the attached ZIP too-</p>

<p>Then I want to transfer its bones onto custom Genesis mesh so that I can get an avatar for Marvelous Designer with Genesis topology but with original Marvelous avatar&#39;s rigging. Such figure must accept motion files from Marvelous Designer, runway walking but accept Genesis morphs made in DAZ Studio too. So was my original idea. But when I import this DAE into DAZ Studio, I see only a heap of 3D garbage.</p>

<p>In other viewers like Mootools 3D Browser, the figure is normal with all bone hierarchy.</p>

<p>With DAZ figures, however, I have never such a problem - if I export Genesis as Generic Collada, and import this Collada into Marvelous Designer, it is kept safe, all bones in place and can be freely rotated.</p>

<p>Can these custom DAE figures be imported in DAZ Studio with rigging, maybe via some converter? Marvelous Designer and CLO3D use Open Collada format - can it be converted to DAZ Collada or Generic Collada? If DAZ Collada is acceptable in MD, why Designer&#39;s files are broken in the Studio?</p>

<p>I tried FBX export from MD, but it keeps no bones at all, just mesh only.</p>

<p>If importing rigged DAE figures in DAZ Studio is impossible so far, which program can combine different rigging and mesh? Blender, Maya, Max, maybe Modo - are they capable to transfer sceletons from DAE files, maybe skinning, weight mapping too? I&#39;d be grateful for pointing in the right direction and any links to clear tutorials.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m experimenting with 360 stereo images out of iray and something I&#39;ve noticed is that when the camera lens distortion type is set to spherical, the lens stereo offset is going on the wrong axis. Meaning if I have the camera node pointed in a certain direction, then the lens stereo offset variable will move the camera in or away from the direction its pointing rather than perpendicular to it (or along the z axis rather than the x axis).&nbsp;<br />

This seems to me like an obvious bug, so I&#39;m reporting it here.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I installed <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/gothic-courtyard">Gothic Courtyard</a> today and once again this is a product that seems to break G8F compatibility base. When I load any G8F character and select the Posing tab, I no longer get any content under Presets and &quot;GC Statue&quot; is selected in the Filter, greyed out.</p>

<p>The last time this happened with some character I bought there was some way to fix it (I&#39;ve uninstalled the product but it&#39;s still broken in Daz) and I contacted Daz support about it. Something like 3 months later they replied asking if I&#39;m still having the issue... just useless.</p>

<p>I can only conclude that it&#39;s the Gothic Courtyard that broke it since I just installed it and it says &quot;GC Statue&quot;. I guess Sloshworks PA used G8F as the base for building the statue but setup something wrong.</p>

<p>EDIT: My original post regarding Kalaa which did the same thing</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey studio companions, long time user here with my first issue EVER with daz studio and was hoping that it was just some minute detail miss on my part that you folks could help me with. I cannot get my render settings to show in studio 4.8. Everything else is just peachy. My render button works, my render editor works, my lux render works, but by render settings button does nothing. am I missing something? or is this a known bug that I mistakenly did not hear about? I&#39;m stuck as a bug in a rug on this.Is there an alternate way to access the render settings? Never had to delve that far into a perfect program before.</p>

<p>Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some light on this for me. :)</p>

<p>I am trying to export Genesis 8.1 model with a lot of morphs&nbsp;as FBX. This works fine if I do not use subdivision.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>If I use subdivision (I know that this breaks&nbsp;the rigging, but&nbsp;I found a way to repair it later), only the first &#39;x&#39; morphs seem to&nbsp;work (have not counted the &#39;x&#39; yet).&nbsp; All other exported morphs seem to be there, but they don&#39;t do&nbsp;anything anymore.</p>

<p>Anyone got some idea what&nbsp;could cause this&nbsp;behavior? Same happens with the Daz2Unity bridge, but I guess it&#39;s&nbsp;just using same FBX export. I tried DAZ Studio&nbsp;4.10 and latest 4.15, same behavior.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t have an NVIDIA card, I have AMD, and it&#39;s a fairly good one that came with my prebuilt computer.</p>

<p>I cannot replace it ATM. The card itself I think is already 800 and I just don&#39;t have 800.</p>

<p>My PSU is 600w because if I go too high I can trip the breaker because my wiring is bad.</p>

<p>according to my DX Diag this is my cpu:</p>

<p>Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (12 CPUs), ~3.4GHz</p>

<p>my motherboard is an ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 (AM4)</p>

<p>i have 32gb of RAM</p>

<p>what can I do here? Is it at all possible for me to get good renders that won&#39;t take me literal days?</p>

<p>edit: i would like to note i don&#39;t make particularly huge images. i usually just render to the viewport</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>How Can I Rig This FootBridge?</p>

<p>I want to make a &ldquo;FootBridge System Kit&rdquo; with &ldquo;Junction Huts&rdquo; and &ldquo;Bridge Spans&rdquo; shown in the picture.</p>

<p>I want the bridge spans to morph such they can be aimed up or down or left or right. But the bridges don&rsquo;t bend. The bridge spans just translate their ends to meet the hut doorways, and the huts remain parallel to one another.</p>

<p>But I want to assemble a bridge system by parenting a bridge span to Hut &ldquo;A&rdquo; and then parenting Hut &ldquo;B&rdquo; to End &ldquo;B&rdquo; of the bridge span. Then as I translate the End &ldquo;B&rdquo; of the bridge span, Hut &ldquo;B&rdquo; will move with it.</p>

<p>I made a morph for the bridge span. But there&rsquo;s no way to parent Hut &ldquo;B&rdquo; to End &ldquo;B&rdquo; that way.</p>

<p>Perhaps there&rsquo;s a way to RIG the bridge span with each end a separate vertex group to make the ends into &ldquo;bones&rdquo; and permit parenting things to them. But so far, my experiments with this have failed.</p>

<p>So I seek advice.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am in the middle of updating my pc, and in the process, I decided to put all the files onto another drive. I still need to get everything installed, but it dawned on me that it may affect the scenes I have been working on and the characters in those scenes. I am still in the middle of reinstalling everything.</p>

<p>It dawned on me that this might affect my scenes. Will DAZ have an issue finding the files, or is it smart enough to know where they moved to since they were reinstalled? And how about the manually installed files?</p>

I transferred my morph from Genesis 8, to Genesis 3, to Genesis 2....but in Genx2, there is no Genesis option!<br />
I even closed Daz fist, then deleted all of the plugin files, then re-installed.</p>

<p>Guess what? It still doesn&#39;t work and didn&#39;t fix anything.</p>

<p>A year or so ago, I successfully was transferring to/from Genesis, so this is a big issue for me!</p>

<p>Can someone tell me how to get it working so that I can transfer to/from Genesis again?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi Guys,</p>

<p>This hasn&#39;t happen to me before, I purchased a car from Turbosquid and imported into Daz. It comes with textures so I can apply the textures onto the assigned surfaces.<br />
However, there&#39;s a problem. When I assign a jpg image onto the surface (in this case a licence plate texture) it shows up BUT.......it seems that it&#39;s huge and blurry to display. Even on the viewport and Rendered.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Before, I never had this problem, I added a jpg image onto the OBJ&nbsp;object and BOOM it displayed correctly, but now it seems that it&#39;s resolution is either big or there&#39;s something else<br />
which is causing it not to display properly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have here a couple of images below to show you what I&#39;m talking about.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I would like to know, has anyone had this problem before? I installed the update for Daz Studio, I don&#39;t know if that caused anything. Would like to know.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey all, did the latest version of DAZ Studio implement an update that slows down GTX render times.&nbsp; My renders are taking 8 hours instead of the normal 1.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I already checked the log to make sure that the render was not reverting to the CPU.</p>

<p>I am using strand based dforcefringe&nbsp;hair from PhilW.&nbsp; Could that be it?</p>

<p>My Rig is an AMD a10 7850K with 32GB DDR3 RAM and the gigabyte AORUS 1080 ti,&nbsp; Usually with a dome I canrender a scene at 1080P in about an hour, and an hour and a half if there are lots of polygons.&nbsp; Now it is taking 8 hours?</p>

<p>Any suggestions other than yoiu need an upgrade.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I got a new computer and since i&#39;m a Poser user I hadn&#39;t gotten around to installing Daz... Only to find out it&#39;s this Central crap.</p>

<p>I am trying to install just Daz through it right now but everytime I try it shoots up to 51%, gets stuck at 65%, then completely stops and says &#39;install&#39; again.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve closed it, reopened it, tried looking in the downloads in c:/ but there&#39;s nothing i can use from there.</p>

<p>What am I supposed to do now?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to get an outline of my scene and character, using scripted 3Delight with render script Outline. But I&#39;m only getting the target window image not the outline files.</p>

<p>There&#39;s an error during the render :</p>

<p><strong>3Delight message #143 (Severity 2): D2004: failed to open display driver &#39;C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/displays/tiff.dpy&#39; (display driver returned &#39;4&#39;)</strong></p>

<p>How can I fix this ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi there,</p>

<p>I&#39;m having an issue where Daz will no longer prompt me to load people/wardrobe/hair items used in a scene. i.e. I have a scene with Tara 2, with Monica hair, in the Egyptian Oasis. It prompted me to download the Egyptian Oasis, but nothing else, so the character looks entirely different, and pose controls are not available for the wardrobe/hair. Previously it would prompt me to download all chatacters/morphs/wardrobe/hair items that is used in the scene. So now, after doing a fresh install, I&#39;m finding myself a bit overwhelmed trying to remember all the base figures I used as morphs especially. It&#39;s not so bad for the outfit/hair as those tend to be named, but all the morph products are essential.</p>

<p>Did I accidentally turn a setting off or something?</p>

<p>I&#39;m a really long user of DS, did this and that ... now i&#39;m (once again) on the Star Wars - Trip.</p>

<p>I wanted to create a Twi&#39;lek - Character ... it shlould be a female in her late Teens. So I took Lekkulian f&uuml;r G8, put the tentacles and skin on Jane8 and gave her a blue Tint. It worked pretty well, if you have a look at this image on Deviant Art:</p>

<p>But there&#39;s one Problem: Female Twi&#39;lek don&#39;t have ears ... but a sort of cones instead auf them ... have a look here:</p>

<p>Is it possible to do it with a geo shell ... and how?</p>

<p>And I have a difficult time getting it to work. I know from other hair products that hair is often hidden in the preview, and you have to increase the tesselation, or enable &quot;Show PR Hairs&quot; to get it to show up in iray preview mode. But with this hair none of that works, it stays invisible, even rendering the hair will just show an empty image. There is a utility that comes with the product to make the hair visible in preview mode, but that does nothing as far as I can tell.</p>

<p>So whatever I do, the hair is not visible, the most I&#39;ve gotten out of this so far is what you can see on the attached screenshot. How is this hair supposed to be used?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hiya, if I am in the wrong place please redirect my question.</p>

<p>So I am in the market to buy a new computer, I am hoping that it will be able to accept Iray I have a couple of questions, is it okay if I bullet point them.</p>

<p>1. AMD or Intel processor?</p>

<p>2. The minimum Geforce GTX graphics card for an Iray render and the maximum.</p>

<p>3. How does Octane work with Geforce</p>

<p>I am thinking of going to PCSpecialist and letting them build it for me? what do you think about people who build computers, am I better off going to a retailer and fitting my own graphics card.</p>

<p>My budget is min 500 to top 1000 pounds, not dollars as I live in the UK. I love Daz Studio but my old computer just doesn&#39;t have the power to do all the things it needs to do and everything in Daz is going Iray. Have you noticed that all the things we pay now are Iray exclusive and 3 Delight is getting left to the back seat.</p>
