<p>&nbsp;and I had a very bad surprise: the hair disappeared.</p>

<p>After a bit of searching, it turns out that the Line Tessellation Sidesis totally buggy when the value exceeds 1!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Installed DAZ Studio 4.23 a few days ago and it was working. Today trying to start it and it starts but no window. One small window exists but when trying to switch to it its invisible. What broke the Studio?</p>

<p>Of course tried to reboot and reinstall 4.23 afresh but nothing helps.</p>

<p>No even choice to install 4.22 that woked for a long time.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello guys, today I bought a second-hand 4090 from a legit retailer that guarantees they thoroughly check all their used products. The graphics card arrived today, and everything <em>looked</em> fine at first.</p>

<p>The problem started when I hit &#39;render.&#39; It <em>does</em> render properly and at the speed you&rsquo;d expect from a 4090 &mdash; but oh god, the noise! It sounds like an airplane taking off compared to my previous card. That instantly raised some red flags, so I decided to investigate.</p>

<p>After checking the temperature logs, I think the culprit is the VRAM temperature, which is unusually high.</p>

<p>So I want to ask everyone here: what VRAM temperatures do you see on your 4090s while rendering?</p>

<p>Here&#39;s a screenshot from GPU-Z showing my temps and fan speed while rendering.</p>

<p>Does this look okay to you, or is my VRAM temp way off the charts?</p>

<p>My VRAM temp sits around 102-106&ordm;C</p>

I want to change my email address, but, I no longer have access to the address that I tried to change to.  So, there is a message that says it is waiting to be verified.  I can't veify the email address, because I am unable to login to it.  I tried to get help from Google, but so far they have not replied, and, it has been months.  So, I tried changing my email to another email address that I have, but, I can't because it is still waiting for me to verify the other one.  So I don't know what to do.  If someone can please help me, that would be great.

<p>Whenever I take an object and create instances (clones, basically) from it, as a collection, they are always created at world-origin.&nbsp; This is not always where my view (perspective, camera, whatever) happens to be, nor necessarily where the part of the scene on which I am working at the time.&nbsp; Fetching from world-origin, while a little easier via the Parameters::Transpose sliders, is a little less than optimal.</p>

<p>Is there a parameter that can be set somewhere so as to generate the instances in-view?<br />
<br />
Also, the volume cube representative of the instances generated seems to be disproportionately larger than necessary, and the instances are created nowhere near the object-origin of the instance group, which is also unwieldy.</p>

<p>Any polite help/advice would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to use the geomtry editor on the 22 Parker Road house to remove a wall in the original object and then hide most of a copy of it so I can move a wall with a doorframe and door into the hidden wall, but it seems like the geomerty tool is really confused, and sort of seems to treat them like the same object yet also different (like hiding a region in one seems to affect the other). Is there a way to make this work?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m know nothing of DS scripting, so please tell me if this is a nonsense idea.</p>

<p>I want to export HDR output to other applications, but default settings from Iray don&#39;t produce usable data.&nbsp; Image attached.&nbsp; I can assemble a scene built from Stonemason&#39;s <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-kit-2016">Sci-Fi Kit</a>, pop in <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/gothy-punk-for-teen-raven-8-and-genesis-8-females">Gothy Punk</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-8">Victoria 8 HD</a>, and render an Iray image that looks pretty adequate as a tone-mapped TIFF with an exposure value of 13.&nbsp; When I bring in the corresponding EXR into Adobe AE, it&#39;s not so good.&nbsp; Everything&#39;s way overexposed, and light sources simply overflow into useless NAN&#39;s.&nbsp; Post processing the image to bring levels down still fails to recover meaningful values from the light source pixels.&nbsp; However, if I seek out everything in the scene that emits light and reduce their luminances (in this case by 10,000), then the EXR pixels fall into a recognizable range, and lowering the exposure value in the tone mapping tab to 0 will give the TIFF image a reasonable appearance, too.</p>

<p>This isn&#39;t difficult in a simple scene with a handful of emitters, but a heavy scene with thousands of surfaces to manage becomes unwieldy.&nbsp; Here&#39;s my imaginary script idea.&nbsp; Please tell me if anything like it exists.&nbsp; It would go like this.</p>

<ul>
	<li>I would select the objects in my scene I want processed, most likely all of them.</li>
	<li>I would launch the script.</li>
	<li>The script would have a field where I must enter a floating-point number.</li>
	<li>There would be a checkbox where I could opt to also process the environment intensity.</li>
	<li>I would click the &quot;Go&quot; button.</li>
	<li>The script would search all selected objects to find surfaces with an emission value.</li>
	<li>It would change the luminance of those surfaces, multiplying them by the number I entered.</li>
	<li>It would do the same for all selected light objects,</li>
	<li>and it would change the environment intensity in the same way, if the checkbox was selected.</li>
</ul>

<p>Such a script would be a colossal time saver for me.&nbsp; Does anybody know of one?&nbsp; If there aren&#39;t any, is there a scripting guru who can give guidance, or who can put together a basic one?&nbsp; I bet others besides me could find uses for it.&nbsp; Any help is appreciated.&nbsp; Thanks for reading.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since a few days I&#39;m getting the problem that whenever I parent or unparent an object to or from a character, the object is moved in space and turns its axis etc.<br />
Why is that happening?</p>

<p>Usually these objects kept their position while making it parent or unparent.<br />
For instance, when I place a glass into the hand of a character and then parent it to its hand, it stayed in that exact position (from the moment it was unparented to then being parented).</p>

<p>Did I activate something?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a kind of odd D&amp;D character I&#39;m rendering for one of my party members. She&#39;s an elf who spent a while in the feywild and ended up with catlike whiskers.</p>

<p>I tried using the whiskers from the Renya model, but they didn&#39;t look quite right to me, too thick, didn&#39;t curve the way I wanted them to, that sort of thing. So I thought I&#39;d play around with the strand based hair editor and make my own. Admittedly, I&#39;ve done very little with it, just some playing around on a few occasions to try to learn that never did come out amazingly. I&#39;ve styled some furs for one of the cats I have with it and that worked well, but other than that, I haven&#39;t done a ton with it.</p>

<p>Is there a way to place single hairs precisely? It seems like it randomly places hairs wherever you mask, which makes sense, but for this, I really want single hairs that are in precise places (in part because I&#39;d like to go in and add a little displacement around the follicles to make that area kind of look like it does around the root of a cat whisker). Playing around with seed and density settings gets me lopsided whiskers and sometimes two or three hairs out of one dot on the mask, one hair out of another dot, and no hairs out of other dots.</p>

<p>If I can&#39;t place them precisely with the strand based hair tool, what would be the best way to create them? I have some Blender knowledge, but I&#39;ve never tried to make hairs in Blender. I could hand paint them in post, but I&#39;m not sure my painting skills would do them justice.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just paid to try daz premiere so I could use Render Queue. I have a lot of work done and not enough time to do one render at a time, so the idea of render queue is very appealing. &nbsp;And I have to say, it&#39;s a very impressive product! I&#39;m having one big issue with it however.</p>

<p>i don&#39;t have much vram, and I ALWAYS restart daz (or even my whole computer after finishing a render, to avoid the black screen. &nbsp;So I set the render queue to restart after every render so I can keep it refreshing as it goes. Big problem... it will finish render #1, close and restart daz, but then it will only restart that first render #1 again and it will never move on to any of the subsequent scenes in my queue. &nbsp;It will just keep rendering the first one over and over on loop until I end it.</p>

<p>i thought the script was supposed to keep track of its progress and load the next render after each one is complete and the program restarts.&nbsp; It even says before starting that it is about to render FIVE full scenes. &nbsp;Is there a fix for this? If not, all I have is a fancy plug-in that I can&#39;t use. I turned off the restart feature and due to my vram amount I woke up this morning to only 1 out of my 5 scenes rendered (the rest were all black screens), so I really need the restart function to work correctly.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve just installed the latest version of Daz 4.23 onto a computer running W10<br />
My content library is arranged in a fashion that best suits me which is not necessarily the way that Daz would like it to be.<br />
Quite often, when I went to upload content into a scene I have the &quot;..... is missing&quot;. No problem, because there was a dialogue box that would pop up, I would copy/paste the missing file into the dialogue box, set it to search through my content library and in a blink of an eye it would find the missing file and load it in. I&#39;ve worked like that for years.<br />
With the latest version of Daz that I&#39;ve installed, I still have the &quot;..... is missing&quot; but the dialogue box no longer appears and it simply loads the grey square block into the scene.<br />
There&#39;s obviously a box somewhere that I&#39;ve forgotten to tick but I can&#39;t for the life of me I can&#39;t think which one it is.<br />
Can anyone help/advise, please?</p>

<p>I created multiple animations using the Genesis 9 figure in Daz Studio. Some of these animations include eyebrow movements, which were created using the Pose Controls. However, when I transfer the animation to Cinema 4D using Daz to C4D, all other motions transfer correctly, but the eyebrow movements do not.</p>

<p>Even when I export the animation as an FBX file, the eyebrows remain static in Cinema 4D. In fact, I&rsquo;ve noticed that some other animations from Daz Studio also don&rsquo;t import correctly into Cinema 4D.</p>

<p>Is there a way to fix this issue? Or is it a known limitation that Daz animations don&rsquo;t fully transfer to Cinema 4D? I would appreciate any advice or solutions.</p>

<p>I am in need of assistance.&nbsp;&nbsp; As the title stated I upgraded from version 4.21 to 4.23 and now Iray rendering doesn&#39;t work.</p>

<p>I have an i7 4ghz machine with a 6700k cpu.&nbsp; It has 16 gig of ram on board.&nbsp; I am running Windows 7 64 bit.</p>

<p>I have an Nvideo GTX-1080ti graphics card running driver version 30.0.14.7411.&nbsp;&nbsp; I believe this is the latest supported driver for Windows 7.&nbsp; At least that is what the Nvidia site tells me.</p>

<p>Okay, so the problem is that when I click on &quot;Render&quot; I just get a white screen with the proverbial spinning hourglass and then it hangs and I have to manually get out of it.&nbsp;&nbsp; In the viewport, for test renders, the process seems to start, but gets stuck in the &quot;smooth shaded mode&quot; and never starts the Iray rendering process. I CAN exit out of this though.</p>

<p>Any assistance would be appreciated.</p>

<p>10 poses for Daz Big Cat 2 and either G2F or G2M are included. So I loaded a cat, a G2F and I loaded a pose: instead of G2F ending on the saddle, she ended a meter appart of the cat:</p>

<p>I tested each of them, a couple for G2M too, and none ended with G2F on the saddle.</p>

<p>I didn&#39;t have such problems when I used older poses for Daz Horse 2 recently.</p>

<p>Adjusting manually the poses will be painful (there are translations and rotations on both the hip and the figure and a pose or two are scaling the cat to 140% <img alt="crying" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/cry_smile.png" title="crying" /> ) and I don&#39;t think I missed instructions somewhere, so how to apply poses from Battle Cat to avoid the figures being appart ?</p>

      <title>How to solve a random textures bug with Tara 2</title>

<p>I&rsquo;m speaking about this product: <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/tara-2-hd-for-victoria-7-victoria-8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/tara-2-hd-for-victoria-7-victoria-8</a></p>

<p>And I have a texture problem on the arms surfaces, mostly visible right at the limits between the body and the arms surfaces (the arms are slightly darker than the rest of her skin).</p>

<p>I first saw it recently, and looking back at various renders (like <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/user/6244146477531136#gallery=newest&amp;page=1&amp;image=1346635">this one</a>) I did with her I didn&rsquo;t see any showing the problem (it&rsquo;s pretty obvious so I think I would have seen it much sooner).</p>

<p>Render without the problem (created on the last public beta, on my Mac):</p>

<p>Render with the problem (created on the last public beta but on my Windows machine but I don&#39;t think it matters):</p>

<p>Both renders are made with the base character, as it&rsquo;s loaded, with a dress, hairs and an HDRI loaded with some change on the tone-mapping settings (but it&rsquo;s also visible with the default render settings).</p>

<p>The bug is only active on her human skin, not on her demon skin: if I&rsquo;m loading her demon skin, no problem in sight, even on a scene with the problem on her human skin. Reloading the human skin shows the problem again. An example:</p>

<p>All this renders were done with the Genesis&nbsp;8 version, but the problem is active on the Genesis&nbsp;3 version too (I thought I did some renders but apparently, I forgot to save them, well, too bad but it&rsquo;s the same problem on Genesis&nbsp;3).</p>

<p>I now have two scene files: one with the bug active, one without it. Loading the bugged scene shows the bug, loading the non-bugged scene doesn&rsquo;t show it, even when the scene are loaded back to back.</p>

<p>Merging the bugged scene while the non-bugged scene is loaded shows no sign of the bug and vice versa.</p>

<p>Here is what I also tested:</p>

<ol>
	<li>Closing Daz and deleting temporary files. Sometime it worked (no bug), sometimes it didn&rsquo;t, so it&rsquo;s likely not the root of the problem.</li>
	<li>Reinstalling Tara 2 didn&#39;t solve the problem.</li>
	<li>Using the last General Release, but, like what I did in 1, sometime it did work, sometimes it didn&rsquo;t.</li>
	<li>Reloading the scene doesn&rsquo;t work at all: if a scene is saved without the bug, it&rsquo;ll stay without the bug. Same if a scene is saved with the bug.</li>
</ol>

<p>Sadly, that same rule (save without the bug means loading without the bug) doesn&rsquo;t apply to character preset: I created one when I converted Tara&nbsp;2 skin to PBR Skin, using Texture Booster, and I just tested that using it could lead to both outcomes: a non-bugged Tara or a bugged one. I don&rsquo;t know yet if Personas are immune or not.</p>

<p>Regarding the use of beta or general release, I saw the problem happens on both on Mac and Windows so I don&#39;t think it&#39;s a problem related to the beta version.</p>

<p>I checked with other characters and I didn&rsquo;t see any problem with them: even a character loaded in the same scene as a bugged Tara&nbsp;2 didn&rsquo;t exhibit the same problem (loading Tara&nbsp;2 mats on them did show the problem on them too though).</p>

<p>If it&rsquo;s useful, my setup is the following.</p>

<p>I&rsquo;m using DIM on my Mac to download and install everything on it, then I transfer the packaged products download by DIM through my local network on my Windows machine on I&rsquo;m now also using DIM to install them on it (in offline mode with a made-up account, because I don&rsquo;t intend to go online with this machine).</p>

<p>Before doing that (no idea if it could be the cause of the problem), I simply synchronised &lsquo;My DAZ 3D Library&rsquo; between the two computers, installing the product on my Mac then asked the Windows computer to update the metadata from within Daz Studio.</p>

<p>I changed the way I&rsquo;m doing it because it could take half an hour to update the metadata on the Windows machine (I could ask it only to update products I just purchased, but there is no search function in the Reimport metadata UI so I would have to search each of them manually, which would likely take as much time after a big purchase).</p>

<p>If someone has an idea on how to solve that problem, I&rsquo;m all ears, because I would like a lot to go back to the previous state of affairs: not having the bug happening.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After a couple days of trying to transfer my DAZ library to my secondary D: drive, due to my C: drive getting too full, I ended up deciding to go the nuclear method and uninstalled DAZ and deleted all DAZ system files from my computer, and reinstalling from scratch.</p>

<p>I reinstalled DAZ and specified in the Installation Settings that the &quot;My DAZ 3D Library&quot; folder should be directed to my D: drive,&nbsp;but when I try to install any packages, they won&#39;t install and I just get a &quot;Retry&quot; error button (DAZ Studio and Postgre SQL both installed fine):</p>

<p>This is the error message that&#39;s appearing in the log:</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried switching the My Daz 3D Library directory back to my C: drive, just to see if that would get the packages to install, but that just yielded the same error seen above.</p>

<p>I suspect I&#39;m just doing something really stupid here but I&#39;m at the point that I can&#39;t seem to figure this out. I have purchased Jepe&#39;s Body Hair Project to use on a Genesis 8 figure and have followed the instructions on application etc but as you can see from the renders below, after applying the shell, my renders appear to be whiting out like there&#39;s suddenly too much contrast.</p>

<p>Is anyone familiar with the product able to illuminate me as to what I&#39;m doing wrong? I suspect I&#39;m just not seeing the trees for the forest.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys, Sorry if I am posting it in wrong category. But I wanted to know if someone out there using a 3060ti for rendering and getting memory overload issues. Recently I am getting these issues a lot.&nbsp; Even rendering 2 genesis 8 model together with sub-d level 3 or 2 is creating this issue. Now I am trying to render to g9 characters and using cpu fall back to make those renders. Still looking is there any hope or tweaks I can do to make renders on my good old 3060ti or should i look for getting a new gpu which one? I have&nbsp; i5 12gen 10 cores if that helps to suggest me a gpu. Quality is a concern to me. Thank you for your help.</p>
