<p>I purchased this product MOSTLY because of this promo picture.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have tried everything I know to use a similair pose for this.&nbsp; G8F&#39;s fingers usually cut through the fabric when using an animated timeline.&nbsp; So, I posed&nbsp;both hands in fists throughout&nbsp;the timeline.&nbsp; That didn&#39;t work.</p>

<p>I finally resorted to doing one arm at a time, using the side of the product, which is basically a large square with a hole in it.&nbsp; (A very simplified description)&nbsp; I used a Current frame animation.&nbsp; It worked however, it didn&#39;t have any flowing fabric...hung straight down.&nbsp; Totally unlike the promo picture.</p>

<p>I used a pose and sim settings from&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-ready-cosmopolitan-poses-for-genesis-8-female">dForce Ready! Cosmopolitan Poses for Genesis 8 Female | Daz 3D</a>.</p>

<p>This is a genious product, however, still fingers ripping through the product.&nbsp; Again, I posed hands into fists to stop fingers breaking through, then the entire hand breaks though.</p>

<p>I know about moving body parts so the cloth doesn&#39;t intersect or break, however this is well into the pose and all I can do is to turn the hands off, which I will do next for MY pose.</p>

<p>However, in Vyktohria&#39;s promo render, the hands are there all beautiful under the cape.</p>

<p>What would you do???&nbsp; What do you recommend?&nbsp; I really want to get better.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I do heavy animation rendering in Daz 4.24. Since the RTX 4090 is too expensive, I&#39;m planning a mixed GPU setup: <strong>1x RTX 4080 (16GB) + 1x RTX 4060 Ti (16GB)</strong>.</p>

<p>This gives me a combined 14,080 CUDA cores. I know VRAM doesn&#39;t pool, and I strictly optimize my scenes to stay under 16GB. I cannot upgrade to Daz 6 or use the RTX 5000 series because my entire workflow relies on Daz 4.24 plugins.</p>

<p><strong>My question:</strong> <strong>Will this dual setup work smoothly in Iray to speed up my animation renders? Are there any hidden bottlenecks I should be aware of?</strong></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I tried using the G9 Cute Sailor Dress (<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/x-fashion-cute-sailor-dress-for-genesis-9?srsltid=AfmBOorYw_EZELrmWenMJhl6ZeYg-cQgspby-Df-Czex9-UJE4JJ8409">https://www.daz3d.com/x-fashion-cute-sailor-dress-for-genesis-9?srsltid=AfmBOorYw_EZELrmWenMJhl6ZeYg-cQgspby-Df-Czex9-UJE4JJ8409</a>) on base G8F.&nbsp; Normally dresses work fine when converted, but for this one the polygons on the side of the dress connect to her forearms, even though the forearms are nowhere near the dress when converted.&nbsp; So then when the forearms get moved, it creates these weird stretches like seen in in the second picture.&nbsp; (The first pic is base G8F in zeroed position, after dress converting)&nbsp; Is there any way to get around this?&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried all the different &quot;Types&quot; in the conversion window...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Just a fyi I am a total newbie at this but basically I found some amazing assets in the renderosity site like Easy pants by Hameleon. It uses geoshells and I like the way it makes everything properly sit on the skin really nicely.</p>

<p>Now the problem is its a geoshell, and I want it to be a clothing item where I can use tools like fit control with morphs or create my own morphs if I ever need it. From googling, It told me to export the geoshell out as obj and then import it back in, and then use the transfer utility feature. I then try to fit to the genesis 8 female but the pants would no longer be aligned (it just moved away from the char ) and it doesn&#39;t seem to correctly react accordingly with different poses etc like normal clothing items.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a guide or any sort of resource anyone can provide me regarding this? Idk if I am missing some steps/settings but I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can help guide me on this. Thanks</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Daz Studio 4.22.x has been deselecting items for some time now and I can&#39;t figure out what changed.</p>

<p>Say I load in a character.&nbsp; Select it in the scene object list.</p>

<p>Then apply makeup, clothes, hair, texture, etc.</p>

<p>It unselects it every time.&nbsp; Happens when using the surfaces tab as well. Selecting it in the viewport has same issue.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Anyone else seeing this?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there some option I have forgotten somewhere?</p>

<p>Yesterday DAZ Studio was working perfectly.</p>

<p>I rendered without any issues.</p>

<p>Before shutting down my PC, I updated Windows.</p>

<p>Today DAZ Studio starts, but as soon as I interact with it, it freezes and becomes &ldquo;Not Responding&rdquo;.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>What I already tried:</p>

<p>&bull; &nbsp; Rebooted multiple times</p>

<p>&bull; &nbsp; Uninstalled and reinstalled DAZ Studio</p>

<p>&bull; &nbsp; DAZ Studio update was already installed before and was working fine</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The only change between yesterday and today is the Windows update.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>This PC is used mainly for DAZ Studio, so this is a big problem for me.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Has anyone experienced DAZ crashing after a Windows update?</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I created a morph for Genesis 9&nbsp;from an exported .obj file as detailed in a video tutorial by Jay Versluis. The technique seems to work okay for the most part. Using Morph Loader Pro I am able to reimport the .obj file as a morph with a slider being added to the Parametes tab.</p>

<p>However, after I dial it into my Genesis 9 character, although it looks good, when I try to pose the figure I get some weird deformations. Here is a shot of what happens to the hands when I bend the fingers:</p>

<p>As can be seen - they become hugely distorted.</p>

<p>Any ideas?</p>

<p>I have this rigged bracelet&nbsp;which is fitted to G8F&#39;s right wrist.&nbsp; I want to export the bracelet as a .obj prop.&nbsp; It exports OK, but when I import the .obj file back into the scene, it appears at the scene origin.</p>

<p>I was hoping to leave the bracelet in its original scene position - oriented where G8F&#39;s&nbsp;right wrist would be.&nbsp; Is this somehow possible?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>At this time, Mesh Grabber is not expected to function with future versions of Daz.&nbsp; So I&#39;ve been trying to get better at using d-formers.&nbsp; Yes, I understand that Mesh Grabber will continue to work in Daz 4.24 and if necessary, I can open that version, use Mesh Grabber, save the change as a morph and then reload the scene in the latest version of Daz, but just to do something like move a piece of hair out of the way, this round trip is just too slow considering it only takes me 5 seconds to do with Mesh Grabber today.<br />
<br />
D-formers are pretty quicky, but I noticed that when you create one, the X Rotate, Y&nbsp;Rotate and Z Rotate seem to align with global rather than the figure or bone.&nbsp; This makes manipulating the dformer really difficult because when I&#39;m working, I quickly loose any notion of where the global &quot;front&quot; of the scene is.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Here&#39;s a scenario:<br />
1) start figure in the &quot;A pose&quot;<br />
2) Increase figure&#39;s trunk node Y Rotate to&nbsp;+45 deg<br />
3) Create d-former.&nbsp; Observe that d-former base and field have a Y Rotate of -45 deg<br />
4) Select the handle, and increase&nbsp;the Z Translate.&nbsp; Instead of moving towards the front of the figure, it moves towards the front of the scene.&nbsp; To me, it&#39;s very difficult&nbsp;to use d-formers in this manner.<br />
5) Increase/decrease the&nbsp; Z scale on the field.&nbsp; Instead of it scaling in alignment with the front/back of the figure, it scales in alignment with the front/back of the scene.&nbsp; Again, difficult to use in this manner.<br />
<br />
So if I want to align the deformation with the front of the figure, I manually zero the X Rotate, Y Rotate, and Z Rotate on the d-former field and base (6 properties per d-former) every time I create&nbsp;one.&nbsp; This gets tedious very fast.&nbsp; Is here a way to auto align d-formers to the figure instead of global?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is a M4 conversion to a G3 model, using the GenX addon. (GenX2 and GenX3)&nbsp; I also used the Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: Michael 4 to map the skin.</p>

<p>I saved a material preset of the M4 model skin, mapped tothe M4 model, to have a map to apply during the process.</p>

<p>I followed the Manual to add the GeoCrafts fot the UV stuff and got the result i wanted, but after saving and re-opening the model, I am getting the GeoCraft stuff bleeding through.See image.</p>

<p>I would happily use another skin for a G3 model but I really need the face for the character.</p>

<p>Any help on how to fix this would be appreicated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I made 15 &quot;both&quot; property sliders for a product that had only individual L and R property sliders, but I can&#39;t get them to persist. If I open a 2nd instance of Studio, they are&nbsp;available on G8F but don&#39;t do anything.</p>

<p>I created the new, empty &quot;both&quot; property, went to the left and right properties in the Property Hierarchy pane, and added the &quot;both&quot; slider to the left and right properties as a controller. Everything works. The one slider controls both L &amp; R just like I want.</p>

<p>But when I open a new instance of Studio and load G8F, the sliders are all there but they no longer affect the L/R properties.</p>

<p>I tried doing an ERC Freeze on them and then saving them as Modifier Assets (both with and without the original L/R properties.) In the past I&#39;ve used &quot;Save as Morph Asset&quot; for this kind of thing, but that&#39;s no longer an option. I have 2 questions:</p>

<ol>
	<li>Which step am I missing?</li>
	<li>Is there something I have to do individually for all 15 properties, or is there a way to get them all in one go?</li>

I have following questions regarding overexposure in beauty-canvas:<br />
1.) How can you avoid overexposure in beauty-canvas?</p>

<p>2.) How can you detect it in DAZ before render (histogram in DAZ, visible in viewport, ...?)?</p>

<p>3.) Why are non-canvas render (render window) fine but beauty-canvas almost white?<br />
It looks like there are some auto detection and auto processing. Can it be simple disabled to have in worst case a short render for overexposure detection (only necessary if there is no answer for 2.)?</p>

<p>What I only find in forum are some open discussions. Perhaps I missed the right one.<br />
I know you can readjust it in postprocessing but not in all programs and with almost white beauty-canvas you lost mass of quality because of using only few bits of the available bits. So the adjustment should be done in DAZ before rendering.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>What are the pros and cons of using convergence to determine when a render is &quot;finished&quot;? I normally leave it at 95% and allow that to dictate &quot;done&quot;.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But sometime I get a render, usually one with a lot of light splatter, that takes forever to converge, if at all.</p>

<p>Any tips? Best Practices?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! As it goes with Daz - it has outgrown its current drive and I got a new drive with double+ the space. In the past I&#39;ve attempted to move Daz to a new drive/new computer and had nothing but problems and I&#39;d like to avoid that if possible T_T. Has anyone successfully managed to move the entirety of Daz Apps and files to a new drive? Idealy I would just copy everything from Drive A to Drive B - keeping all the same file structures just different drive name (drive a/ Daz stuff/ DazLibrary/.... to drive B/Daz stuff/DazLibrary/...) then just change the drive letter in all the places that need to be updated.</p>

<p>Is this possible? If not what&#39;s the closest to it? Advice/steps greatly appreciated :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a pretty tiny C drive (500 GB), so a while back I moved my library to a different, much larger drive. However, recently I discovered that my C drive was almost full, and DIM installs were starting to fail repeatedly. It turns out that&nbsp;C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Downloads has ballooned to a whopping 340GB.</p>

<p>The contents&nbsp;look like zip files of packages I have installed in my library. Are they just temp files? Can I delete them, or should I move that to another drive too?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Almost every night I have multiple computers running either long queues via Render Doctor or rendering animations.&nbsp; Once or twice a week I&#39;ll wake up to find that Daz Studio has closed.&nbsp; There&#39;s no dialog box to click, it&#39;s just no longer open.&nbsp; There is no indication of an error in the Log (see last night&#39;s crash below--in this particular instance Daz was beginning to render the 103rd timeline frame of the scene, no Render Doctor was being used).&nbsp; This happens in Daz Studio 6 Beta, Daz Studio 4.24, and has happened in previous versions of Daz as well.&nbsp; This happens on all four of my PCs each equipped with either a 3090, a 4090, or a 5090, and it occurs with a variety of characters or environments in use.&nbsp; As it happens in animations which contain all of the exact same assets in each frame, it feels very random.</p>

<p>Any idea why this might be happening?</p>

<p>EDIT: Come to think of it, I&#39;m not sure it does ever happen on the 3090 PC where I store all of my assets and scenes locally (and where I set the scenes up).&nbsp; It may only be happening on the three PC&#39;s which access those assets and scenes via my NAS (each of which use either a 4090 or 5090).</p>

So here&#39;s my big surprise. 2 weeks ago i had an issue with my computer who wouldn&#39;t start anymore<img alt="sad" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/sad_smile.png" title="sad" />. I went to the after sale store where an update issue was detected. As i&#39;ve Always find my PC slow with DAZ, i asked the technicians how to speed up daz a little&nbsp; without spending a lot of money. He proposed me a ryzen 5 4600g, telling me that it would speed up 2X my DAZ render<img alt="yes" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/thumbs_up.png" title="yes" />.I have a small configuration(8g Ram, Windows 10, Athlon 3000G, Daz3d 4.22). So there was 2 characters Max(genesis 3 and 8) in my scenes. I went back home, Happy with my new CPU. Started a render.Oh my god, it is so slowwwww, it seems that it is 2 times slower than before<img alt="angry" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/angry_smile.png" title="angry" />. I have tested a few render made before and it is clearly much slower than before. 2 days ago i upgraded to windows 11 and Daz 4.24, still slower than with the previous configuration. any ideas ?</p>
