I used to have hand grip dials on V4/A4 hands that progressively curled the fingers and one for the thumb. Can't remember if they were part of V4/A4 morphs or an addon I found somewhere. This allowed for more quickly posing the hands to close to where you wanted then tweeking them. You could select the palm (hand) and spin the dial and watch all 4 fingers curl. Same with the thumb dial.

I can't find anything for Genesis/Genesis2. Anyone?

The viseme map won't work with Michael 6. I tried to create one with Talk designer assistant 2, but same results - Michael 6s head only nods, but no lip movement.

Has anyone managed to get Michael 6 to "talk"?
I'll be grateful for pointers.

I'm using poser 9 and I am encountering a issue where the inside of clothing like say a jacket for example is see through. If I only put a few things in and render it comes out fine but as I add things this inevitably happens and ruins the render. It happens with other figures too but is most noticeable with clothing.

Is there some setting I should be increasing? I really don't want to go playing with settings without knowing what they do.

Edit: Solved it apparently I misunderstood what back facing polygons meant. Turning it off in render settings fixed the problem.

Hi guys,

First off a little background. I am a beginner when it comes to 3D in general, but I am a quick study and don't usually stay at the beginner level for long. I could already do basic modeling and texturing in 3ds max.

Essentially I want to know if Poser Pro 2014 and Daz Studio 4.7 scenes are interchangeable.

I use these programs on my laptop, it's no entry level laptop either. 4th Gen Intel Core i7/8GB RAM/1TB HD/ Win8.1/2GB Graphics Memory. I can play lots of high-end games at max settings without lag (when not running through battery only).

I have Poser Pro's latest version and the latest updates. From the moment I set it up I'm getting huge performance lags with Poser Pro while Daz Studio works without any issues as far as I could tell. I'm not talking about graphic lags, the performance of the application itself, overall it is sluggish - starting with the library. The Library is not the issue alone, I have it set to load factory states and it's embedded. I even have the latest flash updates. I have tried reinstall as well. The software is just so sluggish. Also, all the stuff I have are Genesis Starter Essentials and Genesis 2 Male/Female Essentials - nothing else.

If anyone has suggestion to improve Poser Pro's performance, I'm all ears. I done most of the stuff suggested in the forums.

I really hope to do art as well as animations long-term. For just 3D art I feel Daz Studio will serve me well enough. However, I plan to do animations eventually and not having the following features in Daz Studio is a let down. I require...

1. Dynamic Hair, it has to work with all hair not just daz "hair" rigged to be dynamic by vendors. I want to possibly put in a custom hair, like MMD hairs.
2. Dynamic clothing, I want any clothing to be dynamic... even the ones I may eventually design in Marvelous Designer.
3. Physics, by this I mean Bullet & Soft-Body physics. It would be wonderful to have these as I want to utilize time to animate a scene and tell a story than constantly be distracted trying to make it look natural.

So here is the compromise I come to... I setup the figures, the scene, and animate them in Daz Studio. Then I make changes and render it in Poser Pro taking advantage of it's physics engine and support for particles if necessary. I want the clothes and hair to move naturally and not have to worry about it.

So this is it, if I have the figures and stuff on both poser and daz studio, are the scenes with the morphed actors, animations, and props interchangeable between the two applications?

OK..I've bitten the bullet and finally updated from Poser 9 to Poser 10, thanks to the 60% price reduction special that Smith Micro's just run. I never had much success getting DSON or Genesis stuff to work in Poser 9, so I'd like to retry it all again with a brand new, out-of-box install of Poser 10.

I have Poser 10 installed in - C;/Program Files(x86)/smith Micro/Poser 10

I'm a bit old fashioned..won't use download managers to install stuff, much prefer to load things manually into place. So - my questions are.

1 - For Poser 10 - I understand I need the 32 bit DSON Files ? Correct ?

2 - Where should DSON files reside ? Path name ?

3 - The genesis starter essentials pack, where should they reside?

I'd like comments from folks using poser 10 and Genesis stuff successfully . Not necessarily long winded discussions about pros/cons. - just the directory structures they use for the various files.that work ?

Anyone out there having any luck getting the V6 - G6 figures to work in PP2014?

I just blew 80 bucks on both figures, and so far, have nothing to show... :-P

FYI..

99% of my content is in external runtimes - that is to say my main Poser runtime contains basically what came with Poser. Everything else is in external runtimes on my D drive. One of the external runtimes is named "DAZ People" and contains the base V4, G4, M4, etc. as well as the basic Genesis figure - basic female, basic male, etc. This is where I install Genesis characters, clothing and so on.

The basic Genesis figure works fine, and I can apply any of the Genesis characters and materials, and they all work fine. I also have V5, and she works fine as well.

The thumbnails for V6 and G6 show up in my DAZ People folder when I go to my Poser library > Figures. However, when I click V6 or G6, I get a progress bar from the DSON importer that flashes for about 2 seconds. Then I get a blank Poser scene - nothing there at all. There is an indication above the parameters / properties tabs that shows "Genesis 2 Female" as if it was there, but I see no figure at all.

I thought all I had to do was purchase/install the V6 files - at least that's the impression I got when reading the product description at DAZ. It comes with the Poser Companion Files, which when unzipped contain a "runtime" folder. I have copied this to the "DAZ People" runtime, and also the the "data" "people" and "runtime" folders under "my library."

So - anyone have any ideas? Do I need to buy something else? Or am I just having a brain fart? (entirely possible...)

Thanks for any advice!

into Poser Pro 2014 directory.

If I select "Poser" as the target app in the installer, it complains that there is no poser executable. So I just select "Daz3D" and point to the Poser Pro 2014 directory and finish the installer and activate. I assume the installer still copies all necessary files. Am I assuming this correctly?

I think I have a misunderstanding. Victoria 4 is older and perhaps there is something I'm not clear on.

When I place Victoria 4.2 into the scene and select the body, I can see the morph dial categories. But none of them show any dials, I only see the tree structure...

My theory is that I'm missing something, or the installer does install extra files if I choose "Poser" during installation.

If anyone could explain what I'm supposed to do please, I'd be grateful. Been messing for couple hours... thank you.

I have my entire DAZ folder and library/ content on an external terabyte drive (but DAZ itself is installed my regular C:/ drive). Nothing else is on the drive, just DAZ.... but I've run out of room!! So I ran out yesterday and bought a 2 terabyte drive to move my DAZ folder onto it, but is there anything I should know before I do?

My computer reads my current "daz external drive" as an F:/ folder, so I was just going to tell my computer to read the new drive as F:/ once I copy everything over, and hope it works. But I wanted to ask here before I do!

Hello,

I know there is a Poser Fusion plug in to export to 3DS Max 13? I don't have it nor want to pay for it if I don't have to. Is there any easier work around way to export Poser figures to 3DS Max 13?

Suggestions would be great! Thanks

I used to use Blender and a java program called Compose, to actually combine the obj groups from my models that I wanted to sculpt and still preserve the obj groups in the cr2 after I was done sculpting. I would like to buy a program as layman as Hexagon with a similar symmetrical interface as in Blender to mimic the morphs I do from one side of the model on the other. I would prefer to buy something on this site and avoid high end programs. Does anyone have any recommendations on programs that they've used from this site?

Hi! I got Poser Pro 2014 like a week ago. I'd installed some basic daz content (genesis 2, victoria, etc etc)
The thing is I had to uninstall Poser, and then I reinstalled it (with all the same content I added before) and now that content doesn't appears. I'll list all the steps I took, maybe I screwed it in one of them?
*Removed all the content from old installation
*Installed Poser Pro 2014 in C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2014
*Choose a personal directory for the content, C:\Program Files\Poser Installed Content
*Start Poser, install content from ZIP file (tried a lot of files here, some of them appear (hair, clothing) and some of them not (Genesis, Victoria, Michael and any other character)

I tried the "Add Library" button, forcing Poser to look into the Content folder. It opens it, but it has no files in it.. I checked the folder myself! the content is installed.. it's like Poser doesn't recognize it. I have DSON Importer correctly installed, if that helps..

Please, help :(

PD: My english may be poor, sorry about that..

Hi all.

Please look at the attached. When I conform a shirt, the one side goes all wrong. What could this be? This scene is from Poser Pro 2012.

BTW, has anyone been able to get into contact with Anton Ksiel? It's such a shame this stunning character didn't get a long an prosperous life. I am amazed that Daz never sold any related stuff.

I have been trying to use G2F in a fully updated version of Poser 10 with the latest DSON Importer, the latest and greatest OS X software, and a 3.2 Ghz iMac, and frankly it seems to me the product should not be advertised as Poser compatible. Now. I can load the G2F figure from the library, clothes that automatically conform and adjust for morphs, and hair that properly conforms, and then execute a render. Once I apply a pose to G2F, everything REALLY slows down (dials barely turn), but I can adjust things like x,y, and z translation and pose the figure by typing in numbers and using the artillery bracketing of the target technique to move figures around. This sucks but kind of works, unless Poser crashes during the render.

The biggest problem is that I have only once successfully reopened a saved pz3 file and been able to do anything with the G2F in the scene. I often get a black outline of the figure in the pose it held when saved, a zeroed G2F, generally clothes conformed to the black outline figure, and hair conformed to nothing in particular (see attached screen shot). Now, oddly, one can manipulate the black outline figure, such as changing the position of an arm, but the zeroed figure just sits there unaffected by anything I do. I have tried with DSON subdivisions turned on and off.

I can import as a Poser document a saved pz3 file of G2F, and that generally works OK. I just can't open it directly without getting Miss Outline G2F.

The one time opening a saved file worked, I selected a V4 figure from the pull-down menu, and miraculously the G2F figure snapped to match the black outline, and everything conformed properly. I have failed to replicate this outcome.

Has anybody else encountered this problem? Is there a known fix?

It's a real shame. In certain situations, G2F is superior to V4. But until it works right, I won't invest another dime in DAZ G2F goodies. I'm not going to bother exploring G2M.

I downloaded the Art Raider Poser Theme "Stonehenge" by Mytilus and unzipped, but can seem to get DAZ 3D to install it.

I also went through the Interactive Tutorial for the Barefoot Dancer that had a free "Dagger-Dreams" product, but install manager informs me "Download Failed."

Obviously, I am missing something. Your time and assistance are appreciated.
