Star 2 can use the lip sync so she can talk, but unfortunately her anime eyes cast shadow inside the eye socket as the eyeballs are a little pushed inside and not flush, ( I don't know why, but it just looks aweful with whatever Light I chose ) so I can't say I really use her. I on the other hand use Star original a lot. But, she cannot talk. So, here my question is, can anyone teach me how to create a .dmc file for Star, so that she can talk? Much appreciated!

Hey guys, I'm new to DAZ3d and I bought a few things from the site to help get me started, and for the most part I understand how to use the program. However, I recently purchased Project Hairy 456 for Daz Studio as well as the requiered files needed to use it, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get it to work. I have no idea how to use it. If someone could help me out, that'd be great. I tried adding to models and forming them both the same, but when I click "fit to" to try and fit it to the other model, one of the models always goes wonky and the body hair isn't where it should be. If I don't use fit to, it shows exactly where it needs to be, but I can't move both models at the same time. Sorry for being such a newb, but it has been frustrating me considering I spent so much money just for it not to work. Your help would be much appreciated.

I am trying to geograft an object to a G3 figure in DAZ studio. I exported in .obj, and edited the mesh by removing some verts and then filling in the exposed face on the side. Then I reimported as an obj. I am not sure if I am using the right settings to reimport. The only guide I could find about reimporting into DAZ was for dealing with morphs, and that was for dealing with something that was originally exported as a .dae and then back to .obj later... so I am wondering if that is the issue. The resulting import is coming with extra connections to the verts in the geometry that are not there in the original or in blender. I tried to run Transfer Utility anyway, and it does rig the object to the parameters of the general area where it originally came from, but it shrinks the object, not keeping it aligned to it's original geometry.

Hopefully the pictures below will explain. I am also unsure if I am proceeding correctly down the path to achieve my final result, which should be a geograft that visually removes the left arm below the shoulder and replaces it with this object's flat surface. Will I be able to extend the texture onto this object as well, or am I going down the wrong path to this goal?

Ok, so i'm a complete newbie, and I have the following problem : the previous images or the previous positions of something stay visible on the central screen. I guess it isn't clear, so for instance :

I click on "clear the scene" : the scene stays there. I add a charater on the "new" scene : it's surimposed on the previous scene. I switch to "side view" : I now have on screen the previous scene, the new character in perspective view and the new character in side view, all surimposed. I rotate the character : now I have all the intermediate positions added to the rest. I zoom out : all the intermediate levels of zoom appear too. In fact, at this point the central screen has become a grey mess of surimposed characters. And it's not just characters : all the intermediate positions of the background stay on screen too if I rotate, same for the lower grid/floor... (and it's the same in the "auxiliary view", by the way)

It's corrected easily by changing the size of the central screen. If I reduce or enlarge its size, I can now see the final situation, for instance in this case the previous scene dissapear, and I can see only one copy of the new character in side view, zoomed out, as it should be. However, I don't think I'm supposed to change the size of the screen every time I do anything.

So, what is the problem and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

So is there any explanation/tutorial on how to set this up and how it actually works (sharing the Daz library with both computers)

One problem I am having is importing a facegen file into Daz. It saves as .dsf and Daz doesn't read that file. When I manually look for the file, it's not there. I have tried saving the FG file as a genesis female, genesis 3 female and genesis 8 female. I have followed the directions facegen says to apply the rendered face but the file is never there. I have tried following what I could find on line to figure this out and those steps still do not work. When I search in regular windows explorer, the file is where it is supposed to be. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Is there anyone out there who can help me and not make me feel like I just wasted perfectly good money on a bum product?

I see a lot of people exporting from DAZ3D to iClone on YouTube. Are there any cons of working with the Genesis 8 models outside of Daz? My preference would be to work with Maya just because of the endless tutorials online.

I have three questions:

1. I am very interested in the Lip Sync feature from DAZ3D. If I wanted to use the DAZ3D lip sync feature, would the lip sync frames or animation be exported to Maya as well?

2. Do the models lose any native quality by being exported to another 3D software? Do they look the best in DAZ?

3. Are there any important features in DAZ3D that I would be missing out on if I worked in Maya instead? Or is it basically the same?

Thank you.

Good evening! I'm a newbie here and I was wondering if anyone could help determine my problem. I am trying to make a render of the Genesis 8 model with the angel brassiere, but no matter what angle I render from, I get some green noise in the middle as shown in the image below. I have taken a render of just the brassiere itself as well and the green noise disappeared from the both it and the model, which leads me to believe it has something to do with how it is fitting on the genesis 8 model. I'd really like to utilize this piece without having any render I make ruined. I am at a loss! Help!

It must be imported as a Genesis 2 male or female, not others like Genesis 8 or Genesis 3 etc.

Please let me know if this is possible.

Today I updated DS to 4.11 and now I`m getting a strange thing happen when I pose my figures. You can see the problem in the image, and I even know that the quads are flexing WAY too much, I just don`t know how to STOP them flexing this much. I can manually adjust them, but its a pain to keep doing it every time I change a pose. It only seems to be doing it with G8 figures, the others G`s are unaffected.

Can anybody help please?

I apply wallpaper shader to the wall and it looks really dark for some reason. Is there a way to make it brighter? Changing Base Color doesn't do anything, changing Glossy Color actually does but the default one is already white, so not sure how to make it brighter than white, only option there to make it look even darker.

Attachments 1 - how the shader is presented and, I guess, supposed to look, 2 - actual look compared to the default(a lot brighter) texture of the wall nearby.

Also, I can't seem to get DAZ paint the object using the Shaders. I was able to do it before but no, nothing. What's the procedure just in case I forgot something?
