      <description><![CDATA[<p>In <strong>Windows 10 Pro 1703</strong> &mdash; the size of the interface and fonts <strong>good</strong> in DAZ Studio.<br />
This size corresponds to the total scale factor to Windows 10 as I understand it (<strong>125%</strong>).<br />
But in <strong>Windows 8.1</strong> I use the same scale <strong>125%</strong>, but the interface and fonts DAZ <strong>awfully small</strong>.</p>

<strong>Can I increase the interface font in DAZ Studio on Windows 8.1?</strong></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Cridgit&#39;s Posemaster lets you batch process folders of regular poses to use them on a different character (say from M4 to Genesis)</p>

<p>Does anyone know if Posemaster (or Poser Format Exporter or some other product) lets you batch convert folders of animated poses, retargeting from one character to another?</p>

<p>From the old video for Posemaster 1.4, you needed to load the donor&#39;s animation into the timeline - and then use Transfer - so I&#39;m assuming there&#39;s not a way to batch process animated poses in Posemaster.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Greetings,</p>

<p>So, I&#39;ve run out of disk space to store my content library on my main 1TB drive. &nbsp;A long time ago, I uninstalled all&nbsp;V4-specific&nbsp;stuff, but I&#39;ve found that I still am running out of disk space as I bought more stuff. &nbsp;Sadly, my computer can&#39;t take an upgrade without extensive surgery, which I&#39;m just not willing to do.</p>

<p>So I connected a sweet 480GB external flash drive, and moved a few Runtimes over to it that weren&#39;t controlled by DAZ&#39;s software.</p>

<p>Then I copied the entire &#39;My Daz Connect Library&#39; onto the flash drive, and made a soft-link to it, and lo and behold DAZ Connect handled it just fine.</p>

<p><strong>This is where I need help</strong>:</p>

<p>DAZ Connect and DAZ Install Manager aren&#39;t playing nice together. &nbsp;~94% of my DAZ stuff is installed using DAZ Install Manager (or predates Install Manager).</p>

<p>There&#39;s a lot of products where I have both DAZ Install Manager installed versions (in My Library/...) and DAZ Connect installed versions (in data/cloud/...) and I&#39;d like to uninstall the DAZ Install Manager versions. &nbsp;<em>I want to do that, because the DAZ Connect versions are on my external drive, and that would free up disk space.</em></p>

<p>Is there any way to automatically &#39;true up&#39; DAZ Install Manager and Daz Connect so that there&#39;s only one install of a given piece of content?</p>

<p>I can manually do it, if I must, searching for each SKU that&#39;s in the data/cloud directory and removing it from DIM, but I feel like there has to be a better way. &nbsp;Also, it seems like DIM doesn&#39;t &#39;recognize&#39; when something is installed in Daz Connect, so I&#39;d end up with a ton of uninstalled items in DAZ Install Manager.</p>

<p>Help?</p>

<p>Seems like I have done this before...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After watching too many videos and reading too many articles on manually installing content, I decided to trust an old 2008 pdf by JakiBlue and rolled up my sleeves.&nbsp;On new PC#1 I installed older Daz and Dim versions, didn&#39;t install sql and manually installed a dozen products in custom folders and all worked well except for an annoying sql error popup at startup. But due to the daunting amount of zip files and a fear of bleeding fingers, I folded&nbsp;at &nbsp;a mere 16 installs, and rolled my chair over to PC#2 (new never had Daz on it before) installed newest Dim Version and installed &nbsp;newest Daz 4.9.4.117 and let DIM do the install of over 4,000 products. Well everything looks jacked. Not one single thumbnail for anything and nothing works. &nbsp;I have well over 200 poses but Daz &nbsp;only shows 3 (missing thumbnails of course). Here are thhree screenshots. I had this problem back in December and again in January on older PC&#39;s and was told to download newer versions but nothing changed. Support advised me to refresh meta data and ended up in worse situation with duplicate eclamation marks.</p>

<p>This time ... I am hoping a DAZ wizard can help me fix this <span>piece of</span> &nbsp;lovely program. I&#39;ve had no problems installing&nbsp;Bryce or any other software programs, just Daz Studio.</p>

<p>i put a texture on the top of a simple box.the box was made on 3dsmax also the UVmap.</p>

<p>in daz,i tilling the texture with the 4 button made for that,and at the screen it correctly sized.</p>

<p>but when i rederer it in iray,the vertical tilling is shift.</p>

<p>i had others same box in one other size and place and they all had the same bug.</p>

<p>i miss something ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>On the FaceGen interface it states only profile photos will work. &nbsp;But I thought it will work on photos of profile photos which is somewhat cartoonish, i.e. a ventriloquest doll face. After following the steps it say that the markers are not correctly put on image. &nbsp;Is the reason for this, the fact it&#39;s not a quite realistic&nbsp;human photo used? &nbsp;Or is it the size of the photo?&nbsp;Photos are .jpg format. &nbsp;I am not good at modeling, especially characters/faces. &nbsp;I thought FaceGen will also do the trick, but not the way I try it. &nbsp;Would love to put such a cartoonish face onto Genesis.</p>

<p>DS 4.9.4.117 pro, nVidia driver 382.53, Windows 8.1 x64</p>

<p>The texture memory consumption reported in the log is wrong. I&#39;m pretty sure the bug is it counts the textures multiple times even if they are used once. But please verify it.</p>

<p>steps to reproduce the bug:</p>

<p>1) Load G3F and render with iray. The log reports &quot;Texture memory consumption: 354.251 MiB&quot;. That seems good you can verify it with the GPU-Z free utility to monitor the card.</p>

<p>2) Now load another two G3Fs so to have three of them on the scene. The texture memory consumption must be the same since the textures are shared. You can also verify that with GPU-Z. Nevertheless the log reports &quot;Texture memory consumption: 1.03784 GiB&quot;. So it seems to me it counts the textures three times even if they are used once.</p>

<p>Having a good measure of texture memory is essential in production to plan the scenes so that they can fit the card. Without a good measure you never know if the scene will render or will roll-back to CPU. So please fix it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I did an animation where the camera does a walk-through of a house. &nbsp;</p>

<ol>
	<li>Point A, set up the camera position and rotation</li>
	<li>Point B, move here, point here</li>
	<li>Point C move here, point here</li>
	<li>and so on.</li>
</ol>

<p>Set up the render, 600 frames and go.</p>

<p>What then happens (45 minutes later, thank God for cartoon render) is the camera does the move from point A to B with a 360 degree x axis roll. &nbsp;In fact, with about 25 points in the chain, the camera did 3 rolls, and one time doing a 30 degree vertical axis rotate went 330 degrees in the wrong direction.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve recently started tinkering with making clothing and I have a question for any PA gurus out there. I was wondering which technique is better as far as use with Daz Studio is concerned.</p>

<p>I ran across some tutorials for taking your quaded MD output and running it through ZRemesher, then projecting the clean topology onto the MD shape. However, when you do that, the quads at the seem areas are mismatched and don&#39;t connect (see below). ZRemesher is run on each piece, so they each have different number of faces, so if you wanted to match them, you&#39;d have to do quite a bit of cleanup.</p>

<p>If you just use the mesh that MD outputs, the quads at the seems will line up nice (1), but the topology is all crazy with swirly patterns everywhere (2).</p>

<p>So is the ZRemeshed method in the first pic OK as far as DS is concerned or will the mismatched seem topology cause problems when rigging/morphing/posing? I&#39;m not sure my OCD would allow me to release a product with crazy MD topo, although if it 100% doesn&#39;t matter in DS, then I guess it only makes sense to save time. Anyone have any experience they could share?</p>

<p>The new files show up in my Windows explorer in the .duf format as expected - and I can apply those new poses in Carrara via File import or in DAZ Studio - but even after rescanning directories, they don&#39;t show up in my content manager within Studio or Carrara. &nbsp;Any suggestions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone,</p>

<p>I&#39;ve noticed that any sort of morphing modification to the genesis 3 female&#39;s breasts (and on extreme leg bends, the glute area as well) tends to bring a rather pronounced deformation of the breast/chest area when the collar joints are bent in any direction, and I&#39;m looking on ways to fix that.</p>

<p>In this case, I&#39;m working on an android/robotic character which is mostly rigid (think plastic body segment exterior panels over flexible cabling). The main issue I&#39;m running into is with the way g3f&#39;s JCMs interact with the character morph I&#39;ve created, the rigidity of body parts like the breasts and glute &quot;panels&quot; doesn&#39;t work yet since the JCMs will deform the body part and alter it&#39;s shape when differing from the original zero T pose.</p>

<p>So, my question is if it&#39;s possible to adjust the JCMs (or turn them off somehow, coming from a poser background morphs could sometimes be told to not mess with specific body parts) to have them not affect the chest area when arms are bent?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Additionally, is there any way to have the pectoral bones move/bend the breasts while still having them retain their exact shape?</p>

<p>I have read a little bit about attenuating morphs but am not entirely sure on how to go around into implementing them in this case. Would I need to go through each and every collar/pectoral&nbsp;bend (forward/back/up/down/side-side/twist) and create a morph for each to reset the shape? Or some sort of reverse morphing?</p>

<p>I have considered just doing all the panels as separate objects attached to the character&#39;s body parts, but I&#39;d still like to learn more on doing this straight on the g3f geometry without any attachments if possible since it could have future applications for other ideas, so any help would be appreciated :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m attempting to save and reapply a pose for V3 Sherri hair.&nbsp; The hair is not fit to a figure, I select it and File &gt; save as &gt; pose preset.&nbsp; I select the file, then uncheck translation and press Accept to save it.&nbsp; I then select an unposed copy of the hair, then double-click on my saved content thumbnail.&nbsp; Nothing happens.&nbsp; What am I doing wrong?&nbsp;&nbsp; Using 4.8 if it matters.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Does anyone know how to get these plugins re-installed &amp; working. I am on the very latest version of DS 4.9, as of June 2017.</p>

<p>I remember having them up until this version. But they seem to have dissapeared from my &quot;Send To&quot; etc......and if I try to install them from my product page on DAZ (where they are listed as available as a DIM dpownload/install), howvere DIM starts looking them, then&nbsp;returns a blank! Nada.</p>

<p>I have always had Photoshop and Zbrush installed ever since I started with DAZ Studio properly with Ver. 4.5 on my iMac.</p>

<p>I run DS mainly on my iMac where they have just dissapeared. However, on my Windows PC running DS 4.7 they are still there and active???????</p>

<p>Any assistance greatly appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I really like the layered image editor. But the one thing that seems to be missing is the ability to tile/repeat a layer. You can scale a layer, but it doesn&#39;t automatically repeat across the base image dimensions.</p>

<p>Anyone know of a way, outside of going to Photoshop and doing it manually?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I used the morph editing feature from the geometry editor to make a partial version of a head morph that doesn&#39;t affect the lower parts of the face, but when I save the scene, it reloads with the full version of the morph.&nbsp; I recreated the partial morph and tried saving it as a new morph using save as-&gt;support asset-&gt;morph asset, but there was no trace of the partial morph there.&nbsp; So, how on earth do I save something like that?&nbsp; Please help!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have obj file textured in blender3d. It is correctly textured in blender hence the textured gets mirrored while i apply it in Daz3d. The text written in texture gets mirrored.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also i want to know where to put different maps i.e.- Normal, Roughness, Metallic etc</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>How do I render an animation as opposed to a still frame in DAZ Studio 4.9?</p>

<p>Just want ot use Open GL (Basic or intermediate) and save a .png sequence - but I don&#39;t see the option under render settings.</p>

<p>I set up a simple 1 second animation in the timeline, which plays through if I hit play. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Haven&#39;t used DAZ Studio in a long time so probably missing something simple./ &nbsp;Thanks.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Has anyone used depth of field in animation? &nbsp;I want to start from a short distance and slowly end up at a full body shot on 2 characters in an outdoor scene. &nbsp;There is a moving river behind them and foliage in front. &nbsp;I want to keep them in focus but everything else be blurred according to it&#39;s distance in front and behind. &nbsp;Is this possible?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Couldn&#39;t find the 4.9.3 package in the product library, but I noticed to my horror that 4.9.4 turned &lt; 3 minute renders into 20+ minute renders... no idea why, but I need a previously-known-good version of DS to confirm and test against.<br />
<br />
So if y&#39;all got a download point for 4.9.3 (Mac, 64-bit), I&#39;d love to grab hold of the package.</p>

<p>I used Poser and now I try to discover DAZ studio 4.9. I have a big question about lights. I try to resolve by myself but I can&#39;t ...</p>

<p>Whatever light I use I have allways the same render with nvidia Iray. It&#39;s beautifull but ... how to apply light effect ?</p>

<p>If my light is blue, on left or right side and even without any light&nbsp;I have allways the same result : a beautifull right white light render.</p>

<p>Can you explain me what I have to setup ?</p>

<p>Okay Now that we have what Four different Render Engines for DAZ Studio, we have Multiple Materials&nbsp;for those engines</p>

<ul>
	<li>RSL = RenderMan Shading Language</li>
	<li>MDL =&nbsp;Material Definition Language&nbsp;-&nbsp;nVidia&nbsp;Iray&nbsp;</li>
	<li>LXM = LuxRender Materials</li>
	<li>MC6 = Poser&#39;s Material</li>
	<li>OSL =&nbsp;Open Shader Language or it could&nbsp;be Octane Shader Language,&nbsp;seeing there is an Octane Bridge for Studio.</li>
</ul>

<p>I understand those and use them.&nbsp;What I don&#39;t understand is why there is a 3Delight and NVIDIA Iray; unless the terms above are used for Shaders only and 3Delight and nVidia Iray are used for Materials?&nbsp;Are 3Delight and NVIDIA Iray current terms and should used for the materials for a dress;&nbsp;while the previous terms should be reserved for Shaders and Shader Presets;&nbsp;OR are 3Delight and NVIDIA Iray defunct types, which shouldn&#39;t be used and replace with the above during any update?</p>

<p>Also.. I understand Hierarchical Poses, as they pose multiple items at once, as long as they are parented to a singe Asset. The knight walking into the Great Hall, his tabard billows out from him as he walks, as well as his sword moves, not ot mention his long hair.</p>

<p>So I am guessing&nbsp;Hierarchical Materials would apply Materials to the parented Props as well as the Parent?</p>

<p>Can anyone tell me, if it is possible to add a custom tab/pane to Studio, where I can place my own stuff?<br />
Like the &quot;Content Library&quot; pane or the &quot;Scene&quot; pane and so on - I&#39;d like to create my own and put things inside.</p>

<p>1. Is that possible?<br />
2. If so, can it be done with scripting or do I need to go for a plugin?</p>
