      <description><![CDATA[<p>The plug-ins provided as part of Daz Studio Premier need to be installed, like any plug-in, through Install Manager with Daz Studio closed. In DIM pasting</p>

<p><span>rx::ci::^Premier -</span></p>

<p><span>into the filter box at top-right should show the Premier add-ons and allow them to be installed, assuming that you have the Download Filters set to include plug-ins.</span></p>

<p><span>Once installed, open Daz Studio and log in to your account (Connect&gt;Login..., for the plug-in/feature activation you do not need to update metadata though you do if you also wish to download the content that is tied to your membership; that does not include the free bundles, which are not tied to remaining a member). You should then be prompted to restart Daz Studio. </span></p>

<p><span>Once DS is running you can find the new add-ons in the following locations:</span></p>

<ul>
	<li>Geometry Sculptor shows up in the Tools menu (remember that, like other content creation tools, it disables any GeoGraft&#39;s mesh hiding and won&#39;t show interpolated hairs for dForce/Strand Based Hair)</li>
	<li>Pose Converter shows up in Edit&gt;Figure&gt;Pose</li>
	<li>Shape Transfer shows up in Edit&gt;Figure&gt;Shape</li>
	<li>DForce Manager shows up in Simulation Settings pane / Manage</li>
	<li>Render Queue shows up on Render Settings pane / Queue</li>

      <title>Genesis 9 Prudence HD render hangs</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ive seen someone else mention this but the answers weren&#39;t really good or help me solve my issue.<br />
Ive created many scenes with Prudence HD and they rendered fine. Then BAMMMMMM out of the blue scene number 55 and onwards refuses to render. I get the dreaded &quot;Retrieving Geometry&quot; line in the render window and my pc / gpu fans spin up like crazy. They keep doing this until I FORCE quit DAZ. YES i have to force quit as normal, &quot;Cancel&quot; does nothing. AND yes i left it &quot;cancelled&quot; for 20min and DAZ and my fans just keep going.<br />
The frustrating part is the GPU / CPU and memory are still running normal. Nothing is overworked. It&#39;s as if the actually rendering is stuck on &quot;Retrieving Geometry&quot; and hasnt even kicked in teh VRAM on the GPU etc...</p>

<p>I even tried fixing the 50 renders I still have to do with a different skin texture on Prudence. This also didnt work. Not even spot rendering works.<br />

So now i opened the last .duf file of the render that worked and did a spot render and it worked. So I assumed ok this time it will work and i then changed camera angles and did some slight pose moves and saved it as a new file. Then I tested this with the different camera angle and a spot render and guess what.................... &quot;Retrieving Geometry&quot; sits there and mocks me. OH by the way leaving it on &quot;retrieving geometry&quot; for 2h45min isnt exacly a solution. 99% of my renders I do, take 40-50min to complete.</p>

<p>So i guess my conclusion is &quot;I am confused&quot; I can&#39;t say Genesis 9 Female Prudence isnt working as I did a lot of renders with her in it. In the same location as the renders now giving me issues. Nothing basically changed apart from camera angels and poses.</p>

<p>And this problem is happeing with same files on both my pc&#39;s so its not a pc issue. I&#39;m starting to think of dumping Genesis 9 crap and keep using Genesis 8 which I know works.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I contacted them weeks ago, probably a month, and I still haven&#39;t received a response. Some scripts I purchased have stopped working, and I was hoping they could help me resolve the issue, but they are not responding to tickets. So, I&#39;m reaching out here.</p>

<p>The first script, Limbstick for G3-G8, shows missing files. I installed the files manually and placed them in separate folders, but this method only works until I end my session, and not all the time.</p>

<p>The second script, Tackyfeet, does not download through the installation manager. When I try to download it manually, the files are missing.</p>

<p>When I try to copy something in the timeline for animation purposes, it copies EVERYTHING keyed in, and makes everything take several minutes of stalling when copying anything. All 0.0% morphs, expressions etc are copied over. The only thing I have found that helps, is to MANUALLY remove all of the keyed in values not needed on the timeline before copying. Is there an easier way of doing this or does a script exist for that purpose?</p>

<p>Also, why is it like this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday and for the last few scenes, everything was working with my cameras as I expected. I could move them along a timeline and they would interpolate. If I constrained them to an object, it worked fine. Camera pivoted intelligently and kept the object in view.</p>

<p>Suddenly, ANY camera movement results in tumbling. I have created a brand new scene, new camera, put a model in the scene and focused on a null object <em>exactly</em> as I have forever. I then move the head to a different frame and move the camera. When I play the animation, the camera is tumbling. I have closed and reopened Daz. I have deleted and created everything from scratch... I have tried it with every possible axis selected, thinking that maybe it was referencing something wrong...</p>

<p>Daz has become literally unusable for me. HELP!</p>

<p>ChatGPT is unsurprisingly no help. I have not seen this in the forum, though I may not be searching the right words...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ll try to keep this succinct: Guy I follow on Patreon released a model for a character I&#39;ve been waiting FOREVER for someone to port, but they made it G8.1.&nbsp; Main reason I&#39;m not super down for 8.1 is they removed some pose sliders for the face that I use the heck out of on G8, so I was wondering if there was a way to transfer said pose sliders from G8 to G8.1?&nbsp; Specifically the Eye Relax sliders, Lip Part Center slider, and the Lip Part slider, if it matters.<br />

Edit: Or, easier, if there&#39;s a product out there I can pick up that already ports them...up, I suppose?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a way to copy/paste a shader?&nbsp; I know there is &quot;copy selecteed surface(s)&quot; and &quot;paste selected surface(s)&quot; but this only works in extroadinarily rate circumstances where the shaders only differ in values.&nbsp; I constatly have cases where there is no option anymore to have an image map for certain attributes or some attribute is missing or the type of material is different etc.&nbsp; This takes up an extroardinary amount of time.&nbsp; It is almost impossible to work with Daz Studio without being able to just copy and paste a shader.&nbsp; Are there any addons that make this possible or other means to gain this ability?&nbsp;</p>

<p>As an example of what I&#39;m dealing with, I have a scene where a character lost the image map option on several attributes on specifically the body surface and I&#39;d like to just copy and paste the shader I need but I can&#39;t because it doesn&#39;t add strangely missing options like image maps on attributes that should have that option.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I guess this is just a begiiner&#39;s error here, but I didn&#39;t find an answer searching for an hour now.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to create a custom slider for several poses. So: I create a timeline with the poses, then create a custom property/slider, I call &quot;ERC Freeze&hellip;&quot; and tell it to take the data from the timeline. After this, my new slider works as intended, I can morph through the poses with it, but when I try to animate this slider via keyframes on the timeline, nothing seems to be written.</p>

<p>Is there a setting I*m overlooking?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I am not sure if it&#39;s normal but when I make a render in DS, it seems that it can&#39;t use my NVIDIA graphic card, only my Intel card. Indeed, when I uncheck the CPU in the render settings to make DS to use only my GPU with my NVIDIA card, the render stops&nbsp;in a fraction of a second, without having rendered anything:</p>

<p>From what I understood, the render should be much faster if I could use my NVIDIA card and its GPU, so I am quite frustrated that it doesn&#39;t work...&nbsp;<img alt="sad" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/sad_smile.png" title="sad" /></p>

<p>I checked back the CPU in the render settings, I started a render and I oppened the&nbsp;task manager to try to understand what is happenning, and I notice that, even when I am making a render, the NVIDIA card seems to be not used at all, except the temperature is a bit elevated (42&deg;C instead of 38&deg;C):</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Every new model it takes me a while to get into it because to move my characters up I have go through a lot of motions. I had toyed with moving the guys up from Genesis and 8 to 9 a few times, but I get busy. I&#39;m sleep depped right now, so hahaha... write??!?!&nbsp; WHAT??!?! Do... aRT?!?!? WHHAAATT?? Study Abenaki?!?! Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I shall waste time by redoing step one of the moving process!</p>

<p>Bringing in Aiko 3... and later Hiro 3... okay I might have already moved Sakura 8 over.</p>

<p>Also bringing in Capsces Kioki and Hitioro.</p>

<p>What? You ask. You have those old morphs on your Genesis models????</p>

<p>Yes. And no, I don&#39;t remember how I did it. Something to do with GenX.</p>

<p>I use Kioki and Hitoro&#39;s morphs for just about everything. Anyway, I saw a post where someone was looking for better shapes of eyes and it got me thinking. The truth is I WAS working on my own anime model system for Genesis 9 but I was doing it alone, so it was slow going... and now DAZ rolled theirs out, so. Eh. I&#39;ll go back to telling badly told stories if it&#39;s all the same to you.</p>

<p>Anyhoo.</p>

<p>I upgraded to Premier and tried to move the Legacy shape of Aiko over using shape transfer - which btw was a pain to even get to be in my system at all. Definitely a bug DAZ could address Anyhoo. Unless you&#39;re a fan of Hellraiser, I don&#39;t recommend you do it.</p>

<p>I had to move her over the old way. Thankfully the geometry tools with Premiere let me avoid using Blender.</p>

<p>As many of you know, <strong>OBJ is a very old format and does not support PBR materials</strong>: that means that after importing an OBJ only the diffuse and bump maps are correctly loaded (if the MTL file is correctly formatted). All metallic, roughness, glossiness, emissive, and (if i&#39;m not wrong) even opacity maps must be <em>tediously</em> manually reapplied.</p>

<p>This process sometimes can be <strong>VERY</strong> time-consuming and, as i&#39;ve said before, tedious.</p>

<p>So i&#39;ve decided to waste even what little spare time and sanity i have left, and bring out the programmer in me:</p>

<p><strong>my goal is to write a DAZ script that (conceptually) does this:</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>loop through all the surfaces of the object/s</li>
	<li>search (for each one) in the MTL file if there&#39;s a corresponding &quot;entry&quot; (comparing the names/titles)</li>
	<li>if so, read all the MTL defined maps (like &quot;map_Kd&quot;, &quot;map_Ns&quot;, &quot;map_Bump&quot; etc.)</li>
	<li>take the map/s and apply them to the target surface</li>
	<li>enjoy!</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Advices? Tips? Directions?</strong> Do you think is feasible or should i schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Greetings all, I&#39;m having an issue when using filatoon figures. I&#39;ll set my figure and do some posing and renders then the materials will just grey out. I&#39;ve switched to Iray and it comes in but when i switch back to filatoon or texture shaded its greyed out. I have to close daz and reopen to get it back. Has anyone one else had this issue or&nbsp;knows why its happening.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any insight is greatly apprciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Usually when I create a Dformer, I have trouble locating the true position of the field. The base is easy enough to find as it has a nice little on-screen widget... but the actual field? Sometimes it can take me 20 mins to locate the actual field. It&#39;s universal tool is easy enough to locate, but it rarely seem to be close to where the center of the field itself is located. I have to move the universal tool around a lot until I finally see the field gridlines on the object I am working on. Is there an easy way to identify the location of the field?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Even though I have no problem applying the materials individually, when it comes to applying the preset materials, I get this error message when attempting to apply them:&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;Invalid hierarchy for selected node(s) and &quot;preset_hierarchical_material&quot; type; no root(s) found.</p>

<p>2025-02-12 13:58:26.256 [WARNING] :: Error loading asset: L://My DAZ 3D Library/People/Genesis 8 Female/Clothing/Dark Wave Fantasy/French Hood/French Hood Presets/DWF French Hood Preset 02.duf</p>

<p>Operation failed.</p>

<p>Can someone help me find out what I&#39;m doing wrong here?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Sample shown is a vehicle used in a render in it&#39;s position for the scene.<br />
I need to do some work on it so want to center it etc ... basic work position where lots of the mods I use are created so after I move it there is there a simple one click way to move it back to the position for the render?<br />
Currently I would save it as a subset, reload it in a new scene, do the changes, create a new subset save it, open it in the original scene and align the x,y,z etc to match the original but that doesn&#39;t do the rotations for instance.&nbsp;<br />
Now if it&#39;s just the vehicle it&#39;s easy to just line the old and new up and delete the old but since they subset often includes the characters, which will be moved etc or reposed, deleting a subset with vehicle, characters, does not happen quickly.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It seems that more and more models are coming with dark pubic hair as a default. Fetching though this might be, because it seems to be an integral part of the base model I can&#39;t get rid of it. This is a problem if I want my character to be a blonde! It doesn&#39;t seem in any way to be accessable/selectable/hideable. I&#39;m sure the creator didn&#39;t intend for the character to be dark haired only - so I&nbsp;must be missing something. I have no trouble getting to what I want when I have a clean canvas....but I just can&#39;t get rid of this underlying hair. Any thoughts anyone?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey, there.&nbsp; I know that decals are pretty much an iRay-only thing, but sometimes (I&#39;m using GrungeWorx), trying to get the decal positioned correctly takes a considerable amount of time, as one needs to wait for an initial pass or twelve for the decal to show up.&nbsp; It would be REALLY handy if one could preview the decal positioning in one of the other rendering modes.&nbsp; I can not tell which way the translate/rotate is going to go on a target, how decal map works vs. target map, what parameters will affect a decal map vs. target map, etc.<br />
<br />
Also, as an aside question, is there a How-To for Decal properties, i.e. Mappings (cylindrical, spherical, spherical normalized...), Target map vs. Decal map; how to make good use of the Clipping settings, etc...?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Not sure how many here are familiar with World Anvil. I found one thread related to getting opinions on it.</p>

<p>It is basically a world design tool and hosting website which authors and gamers can use to create and house their worlds for their gamers and readers to access. It is not interactive other then to view images, read text and follow links to other attached images and texts. I am not sure yet if it can house animations of any kind though that would be nice to introduce a character to a reader whose hair and clothing moves with a wind for example.</p>

<p>It can be monitized but my project will not be. It is for fun and use as a TTRPG tool.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I want to ensure that using items from the DAZ store, as is or altered by me, to generate renders/images which I upload to include in my World Anvil project does not require licensing of some type.</p>

<p>I read through the DAZ licensing which I only partly got my head wrapped around. Just want to make sure I comply with whatever requirements I need to.</p>

<p>If anyone has other knowledge to share I would appreciate it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am going for 3d toon style than a flat anime style as I am having trouble getting various geoshells effects to work in the filament.&nbsp;I did some test renders on Iray with the toon model and for the most part, it&#39;s okay but there is artifacts on the eyes. I tried changing from filatoon shader to base uber and still no different. Yes, I&#39;ve fiddled around with environment weight on shaders too.I tried apply headlamp too incase low light was causing issues, still artifacts.The thing is, in one of my experiments, I did get it right without artifacts, but I forgot what I did. I am unable to reproduce it. Any advice?</p>
