Hope you can help me with this one.

I get Python errors in the Diffeomorphic scripts folder whenever I try to save a G8 figure's pose (Rigify) to a preset file. I see this happen for both G8M and G8F, and also with G8.1F. I started seeing this after moving to the Differomorphic 1.7 version.

To recreate the problem:

Diffeomorphic: Daz Poses and Neck Bone Follow Through *SOLVED*

I'm not sure if this issue happens to others. I run into it frequently when I apply Daz poses using Diffeo. At any rate I'm reporting it as a way to understand what's going on and to suggest improvements.

I use Diffeo 1.6.2 with Blender 3.1.0. When I import a GF8.1 figure from Daz and Rigify the rig, then apply a pose, the neck bones often don't follow. To correct this, I have to manually adjust the neck bone settings. The screenshots below illustrate the issue.

(1) My figures are imported in an A-Pose. Using Diffeo, I proceed to apply a Daz pose.

(2) The outcome of the pose import leaves the neck bones awry.

(3) I can manually correct this by revealing the Rigify bones in pose mode, selecting the neck rotator and adjusting the pose follow-through. Setting the two values to "1.0" corrects the neck pose.

While I'm happy to correct the pose this way, it's not all too clear to me what's going on underneath the hood. Why the neck bones? I understand the value of giving the end user the means to adjust the follow-through of a Daz pose on particular bones, but would it not make sense for the defaults to be set to 100 percent? Just a thought.

Cheers!

So I have been playing around with making morphs for Daz using blender and have made some pretty fun ones.
however, when i tried to do more detailed morphs, it gets very choppy and low poly as there is only so much that the geometry can be adujested without adding any additional vecters ect that would cause the geometry not to match while importing.
my question is, is there any way to get more detail and still have it import correctly?
For instance, i wish to make a detailed belly button, however, it gets very low poly and awkward looking without adding any additional geometry.

I'm still relativly new to blender and making morphs, so i might be missing something very obvious here.
Thank you for any advice :)

I don't know if it's just a matter of me having the wrong settings, or what. I'm just using a G8F through Diffeomorphic. I am using Rigify, but I'm assuming the process would be the same for any rig. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I first started dabbling with Blender's Cloth Sim in late November. After just 10 days, I got this beauty done:

However, that was done with a rather clumsily-made mesh. Ever since that initial success, I've been trying to duplicate the effort with a much better looking mesh.

Unfortunately, no matter what Cloth Sim settings I try, my efforts constantly result in the dragon's figure penetrating the cloth with catastrophic results. I can't seem to repeat the initial success that I achieved just a month ago!

Here are the Cloth Sim settings of that initial success:

And here are the Cloth Sim settings from my latest effort--with the catastrophic failure just begining:

The Internal Pressure is being animated, with the value of 0 at Frame 1, 0.01 at Frame 100, 0.05 at Frame 250, 0.25 at Frame 350, 0.4 at Fram 425, 0.5 at Frames 500 & 600, and back to 0.1 at Frame 1000....

Just so you know, despite my many setbacks and failures, the effort has not been without some amusing incidents.

I got this "Cellery-Stalks-On-A-Balloon" effect during one of my attempts a couple weeks ago when the Chaos Cascade overwhelms the Cloth Sim :

It grows even funnier-looking as the Simulation gets up to around 750, where the ballooning effect begins to envelop the entire torso! But it's very hard to capture that image as this takes nearly 8 hours to get to that point--just before reaching another catastrophic glitch point that changes the entire mesh again. Unfortunately, the multiple Chaotic Cascades affect the entire Simulation, so it's impossible to Bake, play back, or record as an animation for posterity.

Hi there,

This might be a niche question. I want to animate with Daz characters in Blender with the help of Cascadeur. I was wondering if anyone has found a stable workflow for importing/exporting in and out of blender to cascadeur. As of now I'm using Diffeo to export chars to blender then trying to export using FBX to cascadeur from blender but importing to cascadeur seems to be where I'm running into trouble.

Does anyone have a good workflow for this process?

Thanks!

I have a mocap animation in Daz which looks great, though the limits and locks are off and the baked joint rotations are not the default for Genesis 8.

When exporting using the Daz to Blender bridge, the animation looks messed up as if Blender has reapplied constraints to the animation.

Is there any reliable way to remove all constraints/limits once in Blender?

Hello and happy holidays. I have both the Blender bridge and the diffeomorphic (??) script recommended here. Both seem to be set up correctly and work when I send posed and static figures and environments. However when I send over figures with animation things get weird. Either completely distorted or upside down and like .01% of the original size. I watched a couple of Youtube videos and it seemed like no additional steps were needed just export via the daz bridge with no settings changed and then import in Blender. (but the video was older).

How can I get my Daz animated figure (a man on top of a horse riding 30 frames) to import correctly into Blender with the animation???

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

I have been spending days trying to export a Genisis 8.1 figure with a simple walking animation (from Mixamo) and Mehrloc Hair dreadlocks (https://www.daz3d.com/mehrloc-hair-for-genesis-8-and-81) from DAZ to Blender.

In Daz the hair is simulated and animates nicely, reacting to the walking animation. Now I am trying to get this to Blender

I tried the Daz To Blender bridge, the Diffeomorphic DAZ Importer and exporing/importing fbx files.

The only way I am able get the figure with the animation and hair from DAZ to Blender is by experting exporing/importing an fbx file.

However the physics on the hair do not work in Blender.

Is there a way to transport the hair animation to Blender?

Preferably also with the Beads in the hear which also animiate incorrectly (you can see them floating arround in the gif above) but I've been spending so much time on this I'm willing to just remove them from the figure.

Thanks!

Been using diffeo for a while now but this is my first time trying to import HD meshes (thanks g9). Im following the documentation on bitbucket and exporting with geometry tool enabled and both with and without geografts, export with and without hd uv, but evey time i just get fingernail textures all over the mesh and nothing else. Im not very good with UVs in blender so ive always trusted diffeo to sort them. Was always ok with materials but now i get seven material zones (all fingernails and one mouth texture) and appending materials and adding them seems to not work.
