I am using the face mojo app on iphone, json to gen 8 female using the face mojo plugin for gen 8. I also bought the script to "properly" export it to "other applications"

It all works fine until I go to render the scene in blender. I get a mesh explosion a few frames in and random frames throughout.

I have spent a week and a lot of money trying to get this pipeline to work. I emailed laylow days ago and I have yet to get a response.

I am burnt out and frustrated. So many hours and nights without sleep. I know the answer is simple...I just need to find it.

If no one has any case specific advice here...What would be a good troubleshooting checklist to begin?

Thank you guys in advance!

I'm currently facing a challenge and could use some guidance from the experienced members of this forum. I have been working on a scene in Daz Studio and I want to export it "whole" to Blender but the issue is that it consists of numerous assets, and exporting them individually seems like a never-ending task. It's becoming quite time-consuming, and I'm in dire need of a more efficient solution. Hence, I'm reaching out to inquire if any of you have encountered a similar situation and found a workaround. It would be immensely helpful if you could provide a step-by-step guide or share any tips, tricks, or best practices that I might be overlooking. Thanks

With a Genesis 8.1 figure having Rigify bones, is there a way to quickly select all the bones in the hand; for example, selecting one parent bone (the wrist) and afterwards having all the finger bones selected too? As it is I use the lasso selection in Blender pose mode to select each of the bones in the target hand.

So, I'm trying to import some clothing from a game character into daz, I've already edited them to fit around the figure I need it for - but whenever I export it from blender as an OBJ and then import it into daz, the item is at a different angle/position than where it was in blender (usually laying horizontal, turned 180 degrees and also mirrored). It hasn't been an issue when I needed to simply import item files for a quick prop as I could just move them where I needed, but even with moving the item in its rightful position on the model when operating transfer utility it gets reversed to its original position and it messes with the rigging. So, what are the blender export/daz import settings supposed to look like for it to port in the right place?

Hi all

I am not new to blender but I am new to working with rigging. I am also new to working with daz studio. Literally started using it on Friday.

So I have been following tutorials on how to rig in blender and I have the general knowledge of how to use rigify and such but when I imported my daz model to blender I noticed something which to me makes it more realistic compared to the rigging done by rigify.

So in short, rigify can have all sorts of bends on the mesh including having your elbow bend the wrong way which in reality would break your arm. I know 3d work isn't real but I like how daz studio has the rigging set up. It has limitations that actually make sense when you look at the joints eg elbow can only bend one way, arm/shoulder joint can bend up and down and swing back and forth to certain positions only etc.

What I want to ask is how do I apply this same technique in blender on models not made in daz?

I feel it would make my life a bit easier when I try to do animations. I mean I could be wrong, like I say I am new to rigging so maybe the way daz rigs is actually not as good as rigify

I'm fairly sure its up to preference, but is one more typically preferred over the other? And, if you have a preference, which do you use and why?

Is there a way to import assets made in Blender into Daz?

Is there a way to make Daz control more like Blender?

I've rebound keys in the viewport/workspace for camera functions like panning and rotating, but I'm asking more about manipulating objects and figures in the scene and the camera properties like lens length and camera resolution.

And lastly, do you have any (links to) beginner tips I should know?

Sorry if these questions are rudimentary, my knowledge of Daz and 3D overall is very limited. If it is relevant, I've been using the "Daz to Blender Bridge" to import the figures, not Diffeomorphic. Also, please disregard any of the questions if you have no knowledge or if this is the wrong catergory to ask them in. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think it would be really cool and necessary if there were a way to retarget any daz pose or animation to a mixamo or autorig pro rig. Daz has so many great and diverse pose presets that anyone from any software could heavily benefit from. I think an add on or script to retarget any daz pose to a universal rig such as the mixamo rig would be a Game changer on so many levels and help so many people out. To any developers out there please make this happen.

So, the front half of the swimsuit UV mapped ok, but the back is a mess. The straps are overlaid, and heavily distort when I try to pull them back in order. Does anyone know of how to relax UVs in Blender, or have any idea how I can straighten it out? Originally modeled in Hexagon, but eh UVs in Hexago nwere way worse.

Hello again forums, we've really gotta stop meeting like this.

I noticed that the DAZ Big Cat 2 I just purchased for a work project doesn't have any jaw controls, and its "Mouth Open Roar" pose, when ported into Blender, disassociates the chin whiskers from the character's face. I'd prefer it didn't do that.
Fixes/workarounds? Appreciations conveyed in advance.

Texture painting woes+

I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with texture painting. Specifically in reference to Diffeo/Daz stuff. I'm already familiar with it outside of Blender, and as well inside of Blender. That last part is why I'm asking this here. The performance of texture painting inside Blender is fairly unpredictable. Esp. when you start going above 1K with textures. Which is just about every effing texture, and frankly I need that resolution as I'm working on micro details and such. Searching/googling just yields a bunch of "how-to Blender > Substance". Which is great, but what I'm really looking for is "Blender to Substance back to Blender". OR any texture painting program for that matter, at least one that handles 4K textures without issue, and without having to destroy my shaders. I have 4 characters that have some slightly, but not really, complex shader trickery going on that are yielding the results I want in renders using a single Principled BSDF and I'd rather not start from scratch so to speak. Also, I admit that as I am typing this the realization that I may have to start from scratch is sinking in. Specifically, since I have not converted any of the materials to UDIM with Diffeo. Mainly because of my experiments in the past, Blender makes it more difficult to deal with UDIM than it should be. Typically making mangled short work of geografts and so on.

My goal is, I am trying to work on texture-based details like fading the spec/clearcoat around the lips, skin micro details, a proper alpha fade on the sclera, better fingernails, and the list goes on. My problem as it stands is that Blender just is not exactly up to snuff. Typically these things don't bother me, it's a part of doing 3D, as well as any kind of Development. You learn to work around the pains, but in this case, I'm just tired of things slowing me down and want results. I accept you sometimes have to just muck around till stuff works. I even accept that it happens a lot of the time. but as a whole, I'm tired of it being all of the time.

So, if anyone has any experience in this little arena of Daz/Diffeo/Blender and texture painting that I can build on, please chime in!

P.s. If I was wealthy everything would just be able to open and then save to a .blend file. lol.

P.p.s. My workstation is 16 cores, 32 GB, and a 3080 12GB, and all assets are on an SSD. So my system is not the issue. Just in case anyone was thinking it. Blender is the only place I have these slowdowns, but I want to use Blender as much as I can. Tired of the stranglehold Autodesk, and Adobe have, and trying to cut them out more and more everywhere I can. Also sorry for the long-winded post. lol.

Blender has a check box that you can apply to get NVLINK memory pooling.

Just wondering if anyone has tested it out to see if it actually works or not?
