History of the
Genesis Platform
- Genesis 9 marks the next generation of 3D character creation. With a unified figure system supporting cross-gender morphs, double the mesh density, and 8K HD materials, Genesis 9 sets a new standard in our Genesis technology. Real-world measurements and the innovative Proportions System make crafting lifelike characters easier than ever, while asymmetry morphs allow for truly unique designs.
- Building on the Genesis 8 framework, it introduced lifelike facial expressions with 63 FACS-based morphs, enhanced PBR skin shaders, and advanced detailing for the eyes, eyelashes, and mouth. This update delivered unprecedented realism while maintaining compatibility with most Genesis 8 assets, giving creators more versatility and expanding their content libraries.
- Genesis 8 was our most realistic figure platform achieved at the time of its' release. Through automatically flexing muscles, improved expressions, and default poses for new content, Genesis 8 made other advancements like backward-compatibility with all previous generations of Genesis. Because of this, it became a favorite among creators.
- Genesis 3 started paving the way towards higher definition and photo-realism. Genesis 3 brought incredible detail, compatibility across the platform, and unique facial expressions with improved eye reflection and twice as many points of articulation for life-like movement.
- We updated and revamped our Genesis Architecture with a host of advancements that gave you better control, articulation and movement. Genesis 2 offered gender-specific sculpting and High Definition morphing.
- With shape projection, clothing could finally conform to the figure's body morphs. Genesis' androgynous figure base added the unique ability to share clothing between genders, and Genesis was among the first platforms to offer shape projection, which allowed clothing to conform to figure's body morphs.
- Michael 4 and Victoria 4 revolutionized 3D figures. They were the first 3D characters of their time with high polycount, high-resolution modern UV maps, and abilities for infinite morphs.
