Taking advantage of the new material and lighting features introduced in Bryce 7.0 Pro and Bryce 7.1 Pro, this set of fifty material presets comes with its own highly appropriate lighting environment. At this point you might be tempted to ask, "in what way is the lighting environment "highly" appropriate - as opposed to just appropriate?" A fair question.
In this way. The original image textures that have been transformed into the materials that make up this set were photographed by Horo in exactly the same place as the HDRI backdrop which lights them was also captured. Hence the name, the "Treppenhalle" - that is both the home of the textures and the place of the light.
So the textures are also provided with the very lighting under which they have lived. At its most basic level then, you get fifty metals and a lighting environment - which is a start. Beyond that, you also get the current version of Horo's "Bryce Content FAQ", which answers questions we have repeatedly encountered in the forums - the inclusion of this in all subsequent products will be mandatory - it also explains how to install and find exactly the kind of content provided here in this product. Which is useful.
Also provided are a series of three video tutorials. The first covers the example scenes provided. The second looks at ways in which the materials can be fine tuned to suit your own scenes and the third (and most advanced) looks at ways in which the texture components that make up the materials supplied can be "re-mixed" in the Bryce material lab to generate new "metals" (not all new "metals" have to look like metal - as I hope you will see).
This then is a comprehensive product with a simple premise, textures and lighting that go hand in hand.
