Ultimate figure customization
Genesis™ is an extremely versatile 3D figure. It can be turned into almost any other humanoid form. For example, the Genesis base figure can be morphed into a giant troll, or down to a small child. It can be morphed into a voluptuous woman, or a muscular man. It can be turned into a werewolf with digitigrade legs, a demon with horns and cloven hooves, or an adorable chibi doll. The Genesis base can be morphed into almost anything imaginable. And that's not all, every one of the different shapes that Genesis can turn into can ALL BE COMBINED to create a limitless set of unique characters.
Optimized skin textures
Genesis™ is so versatile that until now, pushing a single 3D figure into such extreme shapes caused problems. For example, morphing a human head into the shape of a dog's head caused the skin texture to stretch and smear. Content creators can fix this by creating alternate UV's and skin textures for any such extreme shape. Thanks to new technology within DAZ Studio 4, these custom skin textures and UV sets can now be provided to the end-user via a smart preset that fixes all the stretching and smearing behind the scenes. This ensures smooth, realistic skin textures on any shape you may choose. For Victoria 5, this means custom UV's for a skin texture that matches the underlying landmarks perfectly.
Automatic clothing conversion
The technology behind Genesis™ not only allows for all of the Genesis shapes to be blended together but also allows for any clothing created for one Genesis shape to be automatically fitted to another. For example, suppose a content creator designed a dress for a new faerie character created from Genesis. The dress would not only fit the Genesis faerie shape, but also automatically fit any other Genesis shape, from the Genesis child, to the Genesis Freak. While there are some limitations to just how extreme of shapes the clothing can be automatically fitted to, the versatility is quite extensive.
More realistic joints
Genesis™ has better, more realistic joint bending than any previous DAZ 3D figure. Genesis relies on DAZ Studio 4's new Tri-Ax™ weight map system. This system allows for superior bending even when you push the limits of extreme posing and re-shaping. The ability to morph a mesh into extreme shapes is nothing new, but the ability for a single joint setup to adapt and work with such extreme shapes and handle changes in body proportions without needing to be manually tweaked is entirely new.
Genesis™ was built using sub-division surface technology which creates smoother skin when you need it. This means no matter how close the Genesis figure is to your camera, you'll always enjoy perfectly smooth skin in your renders. When the Genesis figure is further from view, the figure will require less detail and allow for easier creation of large scenes with crowds of 3D figures.
Morphs are the different shapes that a 3D object can be turned into. The Genesis™ series of figures are created in such a way that any custom morph shape created to change the appearance of any Genesis figure can also be used in conjunction with any other Genesis figure. For example, a pack of facial expression morphs can be used with any Genesis character no matter what underlying Genesis shapes you have dialed up. Any morph pack created for Genesis will work with every Genesis shape.
Because of the amazing technology that brings Genesis to life, content creators and customers alike will be able to take this figure further than any other before it. The Genesis base figure is included free as part of the content installed with the DAZ Studio 4 software application.
