Large City Building in Carrara (via CityEngine) WIP

Hi,

A WIP showing most of the East End of London (as proxies)  in a single Carrara file!

Only takes 1 min 20 secs to render on a single i7 machine per frame (I had to work hard to get the render time down).

Video covers some of the tactics I’ve used, but as this is a WIP I’ll do a full set of tutorials when I know It’s fully done.

out of interest, have you tried baking your shadows?

I haven’t - it’s not a technique I’ve played with. Might be a cheap way out and would add some depth.

I can’t wait for the tuts, although I doubt I can afford an app like City Engine. Last time I opened the demo, the learning curve scared me half to death.
