well i am slowly recovering for my system crash. thanks the gods for system image back ups
These are a couple of test renders. i did to tune my new graphic card I upgraded to a EVGA Nvida gtx 660 w/4 gig of memory , this card I got the liquid cooled kit for it. what i like is that it has a over-clocking capabilities of 40%. and fan contorls.. it looks like its gonna be a great cards. 5.1 GPU rated 3D profile and coupled with my new Plaxtor 512 SSD drive , my windows experience index is sitting at a whooping 7.8..which it was a 7.1 (rolls eyes).
Hi ya - no over-clocking for me - still 7.7 for me is good enough .
7.8 is before i over-clock bigh
I got what you said - thats why I don’t do it .
How fast do you need to be - but thats me .
Actually bigh. i don’t think that the windows experience index means crap that is why i rolled my eyes.
if you want to see what your computer can do you need to bench mark test it for proformence for what you are using it for. ..

Performance doesn’t mean going by what Microsoft says your stuff is. you can render with a i5 as well.
But to me performance is everything working 3d, especially if my stuff if burning up in less than 2 years.
Being able to tune My systems memory, CPU & GPU can save the life of my system.
I learned that the hard way..lol running maxed out shaders and lights maps can heat up your graphics card and memory chips , and prolonged HD rendering such as for animation, and aftereffects, can heat up your processor. being able to control temperatures and power ratios to your hardware is a good thing. After dropping another $700 for Graphic card and SSD drive, I am taking precautions this time.

who wants to wait around for renders,
not me said the little ...............
I ran a bench mark on mine and am more them happy with it .
Yep 2 years is not long - my last one ran for 5 years + - but then I don’t do all that you do .

I didn’t think i was doing that much., was I? .lol - , As they say “stuff happens”, we’ll have to see how long i get out of this SSD & Graphic card, i just hope its longer than 2 years…:)
