Ok, interesting question of curiosity here:
I bought DZFire’s AWESOME Cyborg Model 4...
Very fun model. Very cool approach to the figure design with lots of extra bones for the hydraulic pistons (so there not part of the arm / leg bones, no distorting when bending the limb joints). There hydraulics are in 2 parts: piston rod, and piston housing. Each part has a base connected to the model, and the ends connect to form the complete hydraulic piston.
In Daz Studio, when bending any of the joints, even the torso or head or neck, the hydraulic pistons move on their own correctly with the rest of the body. Almost as if the rigging supported multiple children & parent bones.
Not so with Carrara. Just means posing the hydraulic pistons and cylinder houses separately and manually. I’m fine with that, as with most things Carrara, using Poser content, extra little tweaking here and there goes with the program (its worth it though. i don’t mind it honestly.)
I’ve just been wondering, what’s in DS that does that automatically for the figure that Carrara doesn’t have.
And secondly, if there was an alternate way / workaround to get a similar functionality of having the hydraulic pistons move when posing the model.
Example, Upper Piston P12 is connected to the Chest, while the Lower Piston S12 is connected to the Hip…
Ideas anyone? Carrara Pro 8.1 / 8.5 beta , Windows 7 btw…
Thanks!
