I wanted to ask a few questions about problems I’ve been encountering… So to avoid making posts that are redundant I usually check through the recent posts to see if it is already a topic… I keep getting logged out… I can visit my account(while logged out of forums), but I’m randomly logged out of the forums and I should not be able to right?... okay I’ll shop to use up my PC coupon(whatever)... can’t find a damned thing… so I decide to dump the PC club and not waste another $8… no apparent option to do so like before (Yes-It might be there hidden in plain site, but I don’t see it)... So I delete all my CC info… I hope that works… so I decide maybe I post the question in the thread that I saw earlier about PC club questions… can’t find it… the forums no longer list threads in order of most recent posts…. I tried searching the forums using “search forums” but that kicked me out altogether… I’ve been sitting here for about an hour and a half and my brain REALLY HURTS… I MEAN REALLY…. I’ve been trying to be funny and not say anything negative over the past few days… just make light of a some of the silly stuff… not ask what are probably stupid questions, because from the looks of some of the post there are a lot of people who are having it worse… I’m sure DAZ is trying hard…. I hope they are….
But…
MY BRAIN STILL HURTS…
A few days ago in some thread I’ll never find again I almost made a post I felt bordered on being negative… I realized I was just a little ticked and no point in stirring any pots…
But in retrospect and re-reading it is not so negative… And I figure, if anyone else is having as much trouble finding threads… well, who cares… nobody will ever see this thread anyway…
SO this is what I wrote… an analogy of how I feel about what is causing my headache/headaches…
I feel bad saying negative things about this whole site revamp, but the whole thing feels odd…
Hard to describe exactly, but it is like you used to go to the local book store, you knew everyone there, it was a pleasant atmosphere, soft lighting, nice music playing and you knew where all the books you liked were… and then one day you go back and…. The front door requires an entry keycode, the first floor is a coffee bar,the second floor a tattoo parlor and for some reason all the books are located on the third floor, there is now an escalator- but that only works sporadically, There is a different way that the books are organized that you don’t really get, The lighting is SUPER bright, the music is acid fusion punk polka jazz played at high volume, and there does not really seem to be anywhere to sit… Oh, and the bathrooms are now located in the basement.
So now you kinda don’t really feel so comfortable there… yeah, its just a store, you are really only there to buy books and leave… but part of the draw of THAT place was the fact that while you where there you would see your friends that also shopped there, you would talk about what books you where reading, you get curious and check out some of their selections you would joke around get a coffee or tea at the snack counter and feel at home… yeah, the coffee bar is bigger and right at the first floor, but there are no more seats- only stools at counters… there are more stools but stools are not like chairs, you wonder why the books are are on the Third floor (you get maybe, the coffee bar draws in people who just want coffee, but why a tattoo parlor in a bookstore and why on the second floor instead of the third?... in case people did not realize the store had one or that they themselves might want a tattoo? building code?), Yeah the stark bright lights are cool in an Apple store but, in this setting they are too bright… The new filing system sounds cool but it really is a pain because it is a lot different from the old one… The old book club you used to belong to has changed too and now you have to spend your coupon all at once or lose your remaining credit… you are not too crazy about that either and don’t really see a reason for that…
You are not really mad at the owner… but you just feel kind of out of place… is it nitpicking or just disliking change?
When the owner said they were gonna fix the place up you said to yourself, “I hope this goes well… sounds like it shouldn’t be so bad…”
Now you just feel sorta disappointed.
Ah, its just a store what’s the big deal, right… you don’t care when the supermarket moves the dairy section around or the beer is with the soda… why should this be a big deal?
Right?
What I need now is a little check box that says “Notify me via email when everything is back to normal and working.”
I can understand the coffee shop at book store. I do not understand the tattoo parlor at a book store. Maybe it is supposed to represent something at Daz but I am not sure what that would be either.
It represents all the stuff you look at and go “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!”... all the stuff that seems like it should be cooler, but only makes everything more of a hassle.
It is an extra floor you must pass to get to what you came for, which was on the first floor to begin with (in the old bookstore).
It’s an annoying hurdle that is out of place in the particular environment.
I can relate to this. I was checking my PC membership, It was suppose to re-new days ago. But it didn’t, and there is no way to check it. I tried. It shows my credit info, but not when it will re-new. I checked my bank statement, that shows when it re-news, but, Daz hasn’t re-newed me yet. I feel like they don’t want my money anymore. And, I am not going to run around trying to get them to re-new me. I’ll just spend my money at Rendo, I have a few thing in my wishlist over there. I guess that is all for now.
What I need now is a little check box that says “Notify me via email when everything is back to normal and working.”
Well said!
Optimistically, hopefully, the bright lights & loud music are only there to hide the fact that they’re still putting in the ceilings, and the workers are making a lot of noise.
But yeah, it’s hard to deal with, as it keeps going like an Energizer Bunny.
Yeah, I know the bright lights are the blinding store pages, but who knows, they might eventually tone it down, or even give us options.
I have been told that drinking water could help with headaches. If it is migraine like try to be in a cool but dark room while drinking cool fresh water. Maybe if it is computer related headache, some time away from the computer might help. Maybe take a walk and then drink some water.
Actually I have been told I need to drink more water, and that soda or juice is not water.

They tell me that as well. I don’t believe them, *shifty eyes* it’s a conspiracy to put the soda and juice people out of business. Dont believe the hype!

Over and out.
Loved the analogy. I have been feeling just the same as you these last few days as I stumble through this new site. It isn’t fun to be here right now. It’s almost painful. This place does give me a headache now, although not a really bad one…yet.
Please put me on the “everything is back to normal and working” notify email list as well.
Hmmm… Thanks…. I checked them out.
Their website seems to work.
Odd. I was expecting a smoking mess, with bodies strewn around… goats roaming the streets and monkeys with shotguns… but it seems to be a real FUNCTIONAL site…
They HAVE to be using something else to run their site.
They claim Harbor Freight Tools uses their software… That can’t be right… I buy stuff from them all the time and I hardly ever feel overly homicidal.
At Harbor Freight… that is.
This can’t be right… I’m going to go buy something from Harbor Freight and see if I feel like running amok in the streets with a chainsaw…
